At approximately 10 p.m. Eastern time I encountered a hacker on two occassions on US 416. The first time I was procuring a bicycle and out of nowhere a UAZ appeared honking at me attempting to run me down. I dismounted and killed the driver. His name was [saH] WalkingDead and his GUID is 09fa7512e2ed8d50278a7edcc1176dbf. Now, I had no reason to suspect him of hacking at this point, until.... Some friends were helping me find some parts for the UAZ, as its engine and tires were damaged. One of them was at the Northeast Airfield (not far from where I killed WalkingDead), when a tractor appeared. Turning around, I found the UAZ had vanished. As I approached the airfield my friends were killed one by one. I gave chase when the tractor drove away, but suddenly, in the middle of a random field I noticed a player appear, then go prone, face my immediate direction and fire a DMR. I fired back, and while his shot missed, mine was a headshot and [saH] WalkingDead died again, from friendly fire this time? Why I KNOW he was a hacker: -2 vehicles within 10-15 minutes -Regained NVGs, and GPS within 10-15 minutes -Systematically wiped out my friends, when only one of them had fired at him and all three had ghillie suits and were prone inside trees around the North East Airfield -Blatantly teleporting in front of me. Fortunately he was a terribad shot. Admins feel free to PM me with any questions.

Yeah. He's a big time hacker. He conveniently ALWAYS knows where vehicles are. He had an ammo hack and killed me and my friend. I had an m249, and my friend an l85 and we unloaded on him while he was standing up in the open about 10 feet away and he didn't die. Shot us both down and took our bus. He had a camp on our server that had like a ritualistic circle or something of all the vehicles on the server. What stood out to us was the fact he had hacked guns and ammo inside the vehicles. Like mg36's and stuff. We knew it was his camp since the bus in his camp had all our stuff in it. He also rolls with a hacking clan that was teleporting around the server . I'll have to ask my buddy the name of it again. -
OMG ... The Old Bike already became one of my favorite "vehicles" in the game ... but this is just amazing

After Sever restarts our vehicle are back to there spawns

try to restart the server several times when they get back to the spawn.. i had about 3 or 4 restarts with vehicles now.. only 1 didn't work correctly. but the inventory and the things you change in a tent after the first saving of it do not work. so i asked our provider to switch us back to 1.7.2.4, as this seems to be amongst problems with vehicles positions a problem of 1.7.2.5 (http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/68181-1725-tents-and-vehicle-inventories-not-saving/) -

Its a good idea, I think zeds doesnt really care about your ride.. But atm vehicles jumps out from the forest so bad... even the tents glow in there... -

I fail to see how this is useless at all... In fact it is quite damn useful, making your vehicles harder for other people who would steal them to find. Quite useful if you ask me. -
Artifacts can be fixed by logging out and then logging back in....but the tents and vehicles are the big problem!!!! Please fix them!!! They will not save shite!!! Love the game btw!

Nice ideas, most of these would be great but I imagine they'd be hard to pull off. We can dream, though. I guess DayZ would have seemed impossible in the Pac-man days... Things I'd add: Ability to choose a perk or two when choosing your gender. For instance, I can quite easily start a fire without a hatchet and matches, so a perk that enables you to take wood from fallen trees in the forest and start a fire using only that would add a bit of realism for me. Other perks could include getting a bit of extra meat from dead animals, perhap even dead survivors (Lolwut? Dead Survivors? Not quite how 'surviving' works), or a perk that enables you to pilot helicopters. (Seriously, do they teach the Chernerussian kids how to fly choppers in school?) Aesthetic changes to make the world seem like society actually tried to fight the Zombie Apocalypse. Yeah theres a mass grave here and there, military vehicles block the streets and there's dead soldiers in the airfields as well as a red cross camp, but where are the ruined garrisons, the camps where suspected infected were held, the checkpoints on the highways leading out of the major towns and cities where the military was forced to gun down scores of civillians trying to break through when things started to get way out of control. As for weapons, Military grade weaponry would be quite common in the world after Z day, due to the local military presence required to enforce order in areas as yet unnaffected by the crisis as well as efforts to combat and contain the enemy advance. Make no mistake, the Government would consider an uprising of the undead an attack by a hostile force and quickly deploy it's forces against it. (I believe wikipaedia defines a zombie apocalypse 'A general assault on civilization by forces of the undead') Apologies, I've read too much into this topic. Let me end by adding on final idea... Some other way to deploy chemlights and flares than using the 'fire mode' function. Nothing hurts quite so much as losing some nice gear because you threw a chemlight into some bandit's face instead of some 7.62 HIGH VELOCITY!!! -
i found this bug with my vehicles, basically when something is damaged, lets say your driving and everything is green and you hit a rock and the hull goes yellow. although the rest is green after a server restart the rest of the car parts will downgrade to meet the lowest standard (in this case our yellow hull). might want to report this on here

UK 23 - Gamers Platoon missing tents and atv

So i checked - https://dayzmonitor.com/server_info/5239.html&hide_restarts And the server was restarted 3 hours ago, i've heard of tents/vehicles disapearing after restarts is this the case? So i logged on today, around 11 and our 2 tents and atv were gone, i ran to our old empty tents in the middle of nowhere and they are gone too. So either someone has stolen everything and ran over empty old tents or the server restart has screwed the tents up? -
I wana ask for more Admin power, first of all let me say I am not an Admin, Don't want to be an Admin, I'm just a player. The server I play on is getting hammared by hackers, and the very very sad truth is that almost 100% of the time the hackers have more control over what happens on the server than the admin does , and that's mental, he can kick them if he see's them in the act but failing that he needs to wait for a while before he can parse the logs with some script or other to weed out the actions being performed. Admins should be able to spawn Vehicles, as Vehicle loss is one of the biggest things people get when a hacker joins their server, driving a road taking supplies back to base, hacker tp's you to some far off place and you lose your car, or they tp to and take the chopper, or they just tp around the map blowing up all the vehicles. I would like admins to get a message like "Player has just spawned an ammo box,Car,Gun" and be able to make the server spawn a specific vehicle, for example if some one takes the chopper the Admins should be able to tell the server, we need a new chopper and the server would then spawn on in normally. Lets be clear im not talking about giving the admins the ability to spawn things in front of themselves, but rather the ability to tell the server, Hay a hacker blew this up we need a new one on the server. Finally letting them add people to a ban list from in game would also be a nice touch, having to force them to go to the backend and add ip's and id's to some file seems like more hard work when it can easily be done from in game and letting the server handle it. I know there are some admins that are dicks, but I think most are not, most just want to enjoy the game and hackers are wrecking it, its then the admins that get it in the neck "OMG hacker took my car do something" or "OMG hacker blew up my chopper and stood there while we shot a million bullets at him that did nothing" etc etc. these people work hard and play long hours to get their stuff , so anything you can do to allow admins to resolve and fix some of the damage would go a long way I think.

My guess is you're using 1.7.1.5 ? It seems to be a common bug :( Don't bother with vehicles as you won't ever keep them. See the list of known bugs > http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/Known_Bugs -
I disagree. What about vehicles, then? Tents are a boon for better players. It makes loosing top tier equipment less painful. Also it gives better players the freedom to dare to experiment more in-game, without fear of loosing it all. Even further, it makes it much easier for teams to cooperate by setting up camps. Without tents, there wouldn't be much point in having a camp or even team up. Again this makes the game much more interresting Also, there's always a chance lower tier players can find a tent by chance. In fact, once I adopted a more tactical gameplay, and started understanding the mechanics of "the hunt" I also started to find a lot more tents. It also made the game more fun, as I could investigate the trail of better players, and maybe even hunt down bandits. Without any such clues, the game would be boring, and I might as well play COD. Without clues, there is no hunt.

Ok i can log on again now, he said his rcon client banned all players when he banned someone spawning in vehicles. Then it crashed and he couldnt reconnect.

Your ban has been reversed, it was me and I was wrong and it had nothing to do with finding vehicles I was just looking at logs. There was another guy banned wrongly at the same time not with you guys and his has been reversed too. Around 10 minutes after the ban happened. With so many scripters, jasons, invisible people, vehicles getting spawned in left right and centre im getting sick of it and im hardly playing. Also trying to protect the people that are playing. Your welcome to come back if you want, my bad :( edit : also if you need to speak to an admin because of a ban or you see scripting etc jump on ts it would be sorted faster, the ts is in the MOTD.

i had a as50 with like 7 mags a 2x ghillie suit, 3x m9sd with 17 mags, rangefinder and nvg but then i was bored and jumped off a roof and died, now i play with a group and we have a lot of vehicles and other rare stuff :) -
Hey, Cookie... Looks like I'm just the kind of person you want to play with... I have played DayZ for 4 months, and only have 1 murder. (Was at one of my first lives and that dude asked me to kill him and take his gear cause i saved his life :D) I'm hanging around on low-populated servers and loot minor villages and stuff... I have been looking for a partner who want's to play this game as it was meant to... A zombie apocalypse simulator, NOT like COD! My interests in this game are: . -Looting towns(not large ones), gas stations, farms, tree-stands, etc. -Finding and repairing vehicles. -Finding tents and making a good camp near a lake, etc. -Clearing farms that are long distance from towns and cities so you can use gunfire... (some nice action :P) -Sometimes just sitting next to a campfire at night and look at the stars. (witch are well made and realistic in this game! So, if your interested then add me on Steam: Emperor of Finland PS: I know that the Internet is full of traps where people say there friendly and shoot you afterwards. <_< But you can trust me, this IS NOT a trap!!! I'm just as desperate to find someone nice to play with as you are. :) And remember: Its not just about surviving, its about HOW you survive!

So having a look back at what rocket had previously mentioned in one of his posts on how he plans to implement certain zombies being old and weak and wondered if the same approach could be done with our characters. So initially we all start out nice and pulp but then we go rotten after a few days and the only way to prolong our healthy state would be to use some sort of preservative. Here's what I had in mind: Factors that affects us over time: 1. Sight - This would be in form of random blurring as well as affecting your visibility of far of objects. Possible cure would be find a pair of glasses or some sort of med. 2. Fatigue - You would become encumbered with much larger backpacks and would have to rely on much lighter packs. Alternatively you could use vehicles, horses or dogs to carry more goods. 3. Stamina - You stamina gradually decreases and you would require to properly manages your reserves as you tend to require more frequent meals and liquids throughout the day to replenish your stamina. 4. General Weakness - Recoil on weapons then become more pronounced when using high caliber weapons with a chance to drop your weapon on the ground. 5. Tolerance - You develop a tolerance for certain meds such as painkillers requiring you to intake higher doses to give you the necessary effect on your body. 6. Infection - You have a higher chance of catching an infection either be from a zombie bite/attack or from weather elements. Your body starts to feel the effects of the elements more rapidly than a day 1 spawn. 7. Panic - A much higher chance of getting panicked when encountering zombies causing shock and the shakes. Feel free to discuss and add your suggestions.

This is because differences in game mechanics between ArmA 2 and its' datadisc Arrowhead (+ PMC, BAF and ACR DLCs): optics and NVG - only vanilla weapons can use NVG when using scopes (CZ550, M16A4 ACOG, DMR...), Arrowhead weapons not - but there have often backup sights, NV or thermal sights or laser attachment for night combat backpacks - only Arrowhead units can use backpacks, but not when they have MG or heavy sniper rifle flashlights and lasers - only new weapons have working flashlights and lasers (M4A3 CCO, L85A2 AWS, G17...), those from vanilla game (M4A1 CCO SD, M16A4...) don't work flares a missile warning system - most of military helicopters (even from vanilla) and some planes have them, so they can avoid being hit with AA missiles thermal optics and thermal maps - all Arrowhead units, vehicles and maps have different thermal maps depending on how hot the certain part is, some weapons (AS50, L85A2, XM8, M110, M107, SCAR-L/R and even one variant of AKS-74) and vehicles (AH-64, M1A2...) have thermal optics.
