  1. Nope I am admin on my server and i can't see shit, but we know there is a bug that returns vehicles to spawn locations on server restart so we just get vehicles to barely running so at restart it's no great loss, tents on my server appear to be saving correctly (for the time being)

    No vehicles spawning on new server.

    I suspected that might be the case with disappearing vehicles (I noticed it on 7999 and below instance ID servers with vehicles before the 8000+ instance id thing was noticed/fixed). This is also why I haven't restarted my server since. It's actually kind of neat in a roundabout way in getting "around" the 7-day respawn time temporarily and letting more people play with cars ;P I gather the devs are already aware and workin' on it, though. It seems it spurred through with the 1.7.2.5 update. On a somewhat related derail of the topic, may I ask why everyone has these constant scheduled restarts going on? I operate my server with absolutely no scheduled/routine restarts. The only time it's restarted is for maintenance/updates (needing to tweak the .cfg or update the Dedicated Server beta files/DayZ mod files themselves). Perhaps ARMA2 servers are different, but with my history in IT it's generally considered a sign of an overloaded box/inexperienced admin/etc if a service/daemon requires or benefits from regularly scheduled server restarts. Is this not true with ARMA2 servers? Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, as Windows Server sysadmin is brand new to me. I come from the world of Linux where daemon restarts outside of those required to release locks on files you want to update, re-read configs, etc. are otherwise considered a red flag of a poor quality sysadmin/overloaded box/etc. Understandably, from that point of view, I am shocked when I see servers with messages about rolling restarts every 4 hours. I guess if the goal of said server admins is to clear/refresh DayZ loot piles to makes the game easier I can see that. But, any technical reason? The best reason I've seen so far in this thread has been implied by the fact that, once the 8000+ id issue was fixed, the only way to get vehicles to spawn was in fact to restart your DayZ server. But yeah, if anyone can itemize why I should be constantly restarting my DayZ server every X hours, I'd appreciate it. It just goes against the grain of everything I know about sysadmin to do that. haha. But, if it's required to ensure my players can experience DayZ properly (like the cars not spawning unless the DayZ server were to be restarted) then I shall have to do so.

    CLEAN up a Hacked Server

    whats about the SQL file which holds the local Server data like tents and vehicles? if I remove it, the server starts from scratch or not? May this is also the reason for the save issue, if the file has been not converted to the current 1.7.2.5 release, all data saved are not stored to this file perhaps??

    1. viewing distance is to 600 meter even if i put mine to 10000 well atmosphere is DEAD NOW! 2. not only the viewing distance is gamebreaking also the artefacts so im gona trow this game in garbage until it gets fiixed cos one thing i loved was the large viewing distance wich is gone now by some ugly fucking fog keep going like this rocked and ur ruined i prefer being sniped by some motherfucker then killing the game atmosphere with low viewing distance its so ugly and it pisses me off evertime i see the uglynes of this game what have u done to day z instad of making things better u nruin them watch the stats of players playing in 24 hours u will see more and more will stop playing because ur game is not different anymore to the other games on the marked well guys see u on bf 3 im done here for now i hope u fix the viewing distance because atmosphere is gone oh one more thing u removed the respawn button u fixed the tent dupplikation but tell me man if i dont duplicate my items with my friends i would have nothing losing my gear to hackers and fucking bugs also vehicles dont save and 90 % of the tents have fun pls let me know when u understand what i mean and ur rdy to fix it if not im not gona buy ur standalone having more fun with bf 4 then

    Why are the AS50 and M107 in the game?

    You carried high powered rifles and entered a city at the coast. The only reasonable explanation for you being there is that you were going to kill other players. You had absolutely nothing to win in that city considering the risk vs reward ratio. And in a post-apocalyptic world with things like military vehicles and bases around: Would you expect, that there are absolutly NO 50cal. rifles and so on? Jeez I would expect people to drive around i fucking tanks or APCs. That would at least be more likely than flying around in choppers. In addition to that: hand guns and assault rifles are waaaaaaay more common than high-end sniper rifles.
  7. Im kind of getting bored just stalking around Chernarus, so I decided to help YOU. Im willing to Bodyguard Traders(on any EU server), help survivors in need/"Noobs" on my Server(DE1622). So you might ask what "help" you can expect from me. I help via Supplys,Tips(wich maybe just helpfull to new Survivors), transportation(as soon as the hive decides my server should spawn some vehicles), help against bandits and last but not least you can join me and my guys (if we decide we can trust you) while playing so you dont have to lone wolf all the time. What you have to do to get my help is just send me a message and i will give you all the infos My Humanity is at 12000 ( Screenshot may be added at request), Also you can post your experience in this thread so others who may be a bit paranoid;) can read your feedback.
  8. Houdini's Idea Sharing I really am enjoying this mod and I for one, am very grateful for the work that has been done so far by Rocket and his team. I really appreciate how committed Rocket is himself to us, the fanbase. He and his team DO LISTEN to what we have to say and because of that fact we can help to shape the face of the game and things to come. I know that Rocket is in charge and makes the FINAL decision with regards to the game and that not every idea is going to be picked up on for whatever reason, whether it be Hardware or Software related or indeed the fact that it could just be utter Shite! I am Beginning a Degree in 'Computer Game Technology' in September at Portsmouth University. I love gaming and getting involved with others whom share my passion. I could quite easily sit in a room all day full of like minded people and throw ideas around about game concepts, mods, expansions and anything else vaguely relating to gaming! So to build upon this I wish to share some ideas with you Rocket and the rest of the DayZ community. Some of my ideas may seem outrageous or garbage. Some I will elaborate on quite a lot and other I will just put out there for the rest of you to feed on and let your creative juices flow! I DON'T TAKE CREDIT FOR THESE IDEAS! Some of these ideas may have been shared before but I am no god! I do not know of every idea ever thought of for this game, so please excuse me if they have already been discussed elsewhere or before! Right then, whether you agree with an idea or concept please feel free to share you thought's, I don't mean by raging but by communicating! If you like an idea but feel it could be expanded or elaborated on feel free to share your thoughts! Same goes for the opposite, if you don't like an idea say so, but don't rage about it, be constructive and state how you think it could be done or why it perhaps wouldn't work. This way we can 'Work Together' in giving Rocket some 'Food For Thought' with regards to future development and what may lie ahead for DayZ! To begin with I am going to fire off a couple of ideas that all are welcome to discuss and debate on and I hope that this thread is well read and that ideas are shared and communicated in a mature manner! If the thread seems to be quite popular then I will bring some more crumbs to the table same time next week folks! Enjoi... Week One - Emphasis on Teamwork, Communication and Transport 1) Team & Squad There are many tools available to survivors in DayZ, however with groups of players using other programs to communicate , such as Skype for example, it would be an idea to integrate some form of 'Team comms' within the game. By this I don't mean just the current communication channels available no sir! I mean some form of 'Radio' System on your person to allow players playing in groups, and other survivors on their own, to communicate and organise raids and send out an SOS's ect 'IN GAME' through means of your characters equipment. I feel it can seem rather 'cheap' to use things such as Skype to communicate and It would be an interesting concept to have some form of Radio Equipment available to the player. Whether a single radio format or several ie: A simple walkie talkie to advanced military comms allowing channels with even some form of protection and coding. With the use of the simple walkie talkie players would be able scan channels and pick up on other chatter within the game world and or region of the map. this could in time perhaps lead to more collaboration between players reducing the friction caused by face to face encounters.... With the use of the more military grade comms some form of system could be introduced to allow players to 'Hack' another factions communications (in game via some form of 'Mini Game'). Thus leading to a new 'Class', the radioman, who is skilled at using comms and hacking other factions comms and finding distress signals ect. 2) Vehicle Spawns Currently I am not a huge fan of the spawn system or the amount with regards to vehicles in DayZ. Perhaps a system more in line with the Heli Crash Site's would be an idea? With vehicle's being available in more places and being more 'Randomly' placed. My reasoning for this is simple, Clan's or big groups 'Horde' up and collect all vehicles on many servers, and the simple fact is Chernarus is Bloody Massive! Running everywhere is not why I play the game, nor is it what makes it fun! I know it's part of the game and I don't want it so that everyone has a car and never needs to walk again! But perhaps a change or small increase in this regard would serve to make the game more enjoyable! Again another small concept branching off here would be the 'Class' idea again, this time being 'Mechanic'. Perhaps it would be a thought to have some players be able to be more skilled at repairing vehicles ect (How this could be done? I leave to you to discuss!).To make this 'Class' viable vehicles could be made to be more prone to breakdown? Overheated Radiator? Flat Tyre? ect ect? Food For Thought? 3) Medic? Doctor? Right this Idea I am sure has already been debated about MUCH before! But in line with the other two ideas and this class idea I seem to have adopted, I thought we could get some Ideas going on this too! My main idea with this would perhaps be better remedies for those who are in the 'Medic' Class, Eg a survivor administers a blood pack to another player who has 4500 blood. After the transfusion their blood only rises to 8000? 9000? 10000? say? whereas a medic applying a blood pack could get the survivor back to peak condition at 12000 Blood? Perhaps broken legs could take time to heal, medics could administer first aid and fix them up with a splint to get them back on their feet asap with a small heal time and minimal movement penalty. Without a medic, the procedure could be done by another survivor but would take longer to administer the first aid and they would walk with a limp or hobble for a longer period of time in the game with a slightly larger movement penalty. 3-5 'In game' Hours perhaps? before they are fully fit again. They could also seek medical attention also prior to the conclusion of the natural healing time if they were not patched up by a Medic originally. Perhaps via Idea 1), using the walkie talkie they could sent out an SOS in search of a medic? Right I think I am done for now, I hope you enjoyed reading this post and I look forwards to hearing your ideas with regard to the concepts stated above. As I said before these Ideas may have already been discussed and I take no credit for posting them here! I simply wish to share these thoughts and ideas with you!   9. Same issue, data base is not saving correctly, tents disappear and vehicles revert to original pre-repaired status. We also seem to be having excessive server / data base desyncing, anyone seeing this?

  11. Everyone just got sent to space on de 1261, just a warning to all :) seriously gonna lose players if this is not sorted, no point in getting kitted etc when every five minutes you and all the vehicles on the server get fucked. goddam it
  12. It's safe to assume fewer rifles and less ammo will mean fewer murders with these weapons, yes. That's kind of just simple math. I wouldn't call what we have now a particularly pressing "problem," though. Unless you're in Cherno/Elektro fire stations or raiding Stary Sobor/NWAF in broad daylight I've never found snipers to be much of an issue. Fewer free car parts might mean it's easier to find vehicles, too, incidentally. Engines are rare.

    I can confirm that last night at 4:55PM EST after we restarted our server with an instance ID over 8000 that vehicles did indeed spawn. Upon server restart however those vehicles reappear at their original locations unrepaired. We also still have tents disappearing upon server reset and are experiencing excessive server connection issues and hive desyncing.
  14. Graphical glitches are less prominent or gone. So they are making some progress. Alpha tends to go two steps forward, one step back, etc. Alpha is the point of the mod where they add features. Beta is the major bug fixing phase. At the minute they are trying to add more plates and keep all the plates spinning without it all going to hell. Be patient and just avoid tents for the time being. Vehicles are screwed up at the minute also.

    hey people, I've seen so many reports in the server reports forum about some servers being locked. I know of some people locking their servers to play with their friends without hackers. You know this hacker shit became rampant, so i could understand this. And also there are people locking their servers to scavenge stuff and rack up vehicles for their own ( maybe an unfair advantage). In my opinion locked servers aren't a great problem, sure there are some people abusing it, but why care about it. There are thousands of well geared people, i wouldn't care about some more server-admins with high end gear and i also don't care about server-admins which rack up all their vehicles for their own. i wouldn't play on these servers and don't care about them anymore. Atm If i had a server i would lock it too(and also i would give the password to some people i know well), because atm it's the best way to avade hackers and wait for Rocket's/BattleEye's countermeasures for these hackers. What do you think about it? ( discuss ;DDD and don't call me a carebear <3) EDIT: im pretty unsure, if server general is the right section. If not plxxx move.
  17. the way you do this is by going to the map, then hitting either units or players, your name should pop up hit gear your inventory and the vehicles

Ok, vehicles now are spawned but strange things are going on: (everytime waiting 30 sec. till logout for hive to save) - Vehicle was spawned inside another environmental car - After saving the car and restarting the server another car spawned inside the car - Saving the new car again and restarted the server: nothing special happened (both cars inside the environmental car are still there) - FOUND a sniper and some cans inside the car, put some new stuff inside -saved car - waited 30 sec. log off - server restart: items which i put inside are gone, but the sniper and cans, which were there from car spawn still inside
  19. 50-zed wandering hordes with a larger than normal aggro radius for vehicles. Triple or even quadruple the zombie health, with headshots remaining a one-hit kill. Zeds being aggro'd create an "aggro radius" around them, for a domino effect that will get 10 zeds on you if you decide to shoot a single one in a main town. ("aggro radius" zeds don't create their own radius.) Skills you can train, with no "easy way" to do it. Running gets you higher speed or stamina, shooting a lot of zeds gets you less aim shake, hipfiring gets you steadier hipfiring, etc. All of this passive and with no immediate "level up" reward. The idea is people realizing they lost their abilities only after they died and are now slow and shit at shooting, therefore giving them a better self preservation spirit. Many more spawn points, scattered across the entirety of the map. Grouping up before going into a server and having your entire group spawn in a single spot. Ammo pooling for shotgun shells, and all shotgun shells being usable on any shotgun. Multiple use food, water, and bandages, rarer than the normal ones. A hospital in Zelenogorsk, and Stary Sobor. Hospitals spawn a quarter of the amount of stuff they spawn currently. Cars unused for more than 24 hours are moved back to a random spawnpoint. An invisible wall between the "debug plains" and Chernarus proper. "Friend" system. Be near a friend, both play a little animation on eachother at the same time, and both players now see eachother 's name when looking at eachother, in nice green lettering on the center of the screen. If both players have GPSes, they can see eachother on their GPSes and maps. Reenable sidechat, and make it so players can opt-out of it. Same with death messages. Remove tents until they work properly. Same with vehicles' gear. Aggro radius is affected by the amount of players immediately near you. A group makes more noise than single people. Ripping a Nightvision or Thermal scope off a gun and using it as a tool on your binoculars or tool slot. Needs a toolbox.
  20. in my opinion you can't say 1. if they are racking up vehicles, don't play on it. 2. if they are racking up stuff, wayne there are so many hackers, this is our smallest problem and who cares about people getting some cool stuff. they will loose it over the time. there are thousands of people finding their weapons on their own on unlocked servers. more peoplewith good stuff doesn't change anything. 3. ^this

    i see the bodies last night , south of devil castle down of the hill , Mike and Exitus One in ghillie and the other with starting clothes, full loots nothing was taken ( until i found the bodies :D ) But this story sounds weird, 2 or 3 days ago a guy teleport all around the map and shoot everyone with an MK48 the second we see him we open fire like crazy , with M4 , AS 50 and M240 and nothing happen the guy just kill us one by one before destroy all vehicles and just after that we see the names of all the player connected in the chat " xx was killed" ur buddy mike was online and probably kill with all of us hope something is doable with this fuckings guys ruining the game

    My Camp!

    Nice camp bud! My buddy and I just recently set up camp but are currently having issues with tents holding anything. I think we picked a server w/ a worthless admin who likes to revert the server to an earlier time when he loses his shit. The only persistent equipment is what we carry in our inventory. It's even the same with our vehicles. It's like opening a present. Just not sure what'll be inside. We actually stole items from the dudes Ural then BLEW IT UP (and the bus w/ it) just to log-in the next evening to see them both back but moved west a little bit. And yes, all the items we took the night before re-spawned in both vehicles. So this time we just stole the Ural flat out. Have to find it now, bud lol.
  23. We repaired the chopper and after a rerstart it's back on Skalisty. That was on our server which has vehicles since the first start. Before we tried to repair any vehicles on the new server we tried to save a tent and a vehicle and after a restart it's all set back. That's really annoying and I can't really be happy, we finaly have vehicles. We can't use them. Would be no wonder, if many people would cancel their subscriptions for their servers. I have canceled one at vilayer and I guess I will cancel the server at gamed!de too because I can't even promote it, because there are no vehicles, that can be used. We are more and more thinking about a private hive.
  24. Ok, so me and a friend have been playing DayZ, we know a fare bit but we don't seem to have much luck... Basicly we have decided that we will make a tactical squad of several players... No limit to how much there will be but right now we just want a small tactical squad of 6-7 players... We hope to get vehicles night vision goggles, GPS and all that great stuff along with snipers. We will not take cheap kills on people who cannot harm us. Meaning if they are running away or have no weapon or an axe but are standing far away, we will not shoot. Anyone who is threatening alike, running towards us, out fire power us or has a good position on is we will open fire. If we find someone with items we fancy we will open fire and take their items... Spots: Sniper/Scout/Overwatch (Snipes,Calls out enemys, watches the area whilst jobs are carried out) Transportation (Specialises in transporting people around, be it in a helicopter or a car or anything(including transporting goods from a job to camp or enemy camps to our camp) Medic (carries all medical supplies and is first to be called for downed team mates/injured team mates) Assault (Gets up close and personal in the mission to kill players in close combat ect.)   25. YOU came with the "remove vehicles" not me. I just argumented. Spotting darkgreen pixels in an area where colors differ every meter is not easy. Ghilles are not fking NEONGREEN. Plus .50 can kill you at fog of war range.
