Vehicles or not, they can't move their tents and all their contents. Have at it brethren.

Some good ideas :) I like the horses..and i am pretty sure Rocket has those in mind for the standalone. Trains..yes, very needed. Clothing also is on his list i believe , but i am unsure about 'abilities' with clothing. Maybe if you find something rare like a kevlar chest pad or something ? Of course, he who has the best gear has the advantage but if we all have the same basic damage system its still a level playing field. I am sort of opposed to percentages for damage going up as to what you are wearing :) Just seems a bit gamey imo. More slots for sure if you get an outdoors camping type jacket or a hiking jeans with extra pockets. One thing i would really like added is the construction side of things for some basic vehicles, Got a hatchet some rope and sheets or a tarp ? Then you got yourself a raft. Fix a car and get it working, chop the back of a utility or truck, hook it up and you have a trailer you can stash your stuff in to cart around with you. Heck you could kick down a door , bolt on some trolley wheels and you got a sled for carting shit around, shopping trolleys even. Its noisy and slow but the choice is yours if thats how you want to roll.

I can: Combat hackers. Fix graphical glitches. Gear up. Live throughout firefights. Etc. Only problem affecting my fun in DayZ is the majority of servers not saving vehicles on 1.7.2.5.

You joined...August 1st...doubt you were around when "no one knew about it". Doubt you went a few months without wanting to post something. But yeah, I only hate vehicle hoarders when they: A.)hide their vehicles in the debug plains. Or.. B.) never use the vehicles for operations. Since you're close to the West side of the map, I am willing to bet you never use your vehicles and are intact hiding them in the debug plains. But those are just assumptions. Prove me wrong. The amount of times you tell everyone who is agaisnt you a kid and your grammar, leads me to believe you are a child, perhaps 13?

Regarding the Battleye #87 error on fresh servers This is a hive issue for new servers. You will have to wait for the hive to sync with your server. This process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours. Regarding 1.7.2.5 / hive 0.7.3 issues with tents/vehicles savingAll servers are facing this issue.One thing you can do is: Stop your server Roll your server back to 1.7.2.4 + Hive 0.7.2 in the updates section by clicking "Install" Then re-install the Battleye update by clicking "install" This should prevent tents and vehicles from not saving properly. Please allow 30 minutes for your server to sync with the Hive after doing this. Hopefully 1.7.2.6 will be released shortly, to fix the vehicle and tent bug! UPDATE: 10 Germany servers for sale and tons in Los Angeles, CA!!!!

As stated earlier, your solution is to a problem that is not present. I have asked that you show where I was jealous- you have not done this. I told him to not hoard vehicles because it causes more problems that it solves (i.e. you spend days getting parts then the vehicles get stolen, invisible barriers eat your tires, etc.) and all that effort is wasted. My solution was simple: only have as many vehicles as needed. I'm honestly not sure why you think reasoning equates to jealousy. Telling me that I'm wrong and me being wrong are two very different (and usually opposite) things. I ask you: what benefit is having a fleet of vehicles if a clever player blows that fleet to pieces? Or, better yet, what is the benefit of having to move all of them and risk them being torn to pieces? What benefit is there in spending days of effort that can be wiped away instantly? Do tell me the benefits; I'd like to hear them. I'm also unsure of why you bring up a history of debating- I've been debating subjects that are not so frivolous as vehicles in an online game for years now and that doesn't help my stance any, and I'm having trouble understanding why you think it would help you any. If you have so much experience in debating, then why would you bring anything up that doesn't matter? Here you are further illustrating my point (that too many vehicles cause too many problems.) Allow me to ask a question with an obvious answer: what is harder to spot, four jeeps or ten? It's simple reasoning: four jeeps will be spotted less often. One probably wouldn't even need four jeeps; although back ups are always nice. Although, I don't really understand why I'm even bothering to respond to this point- you've only helped out my argument that too many vehicles cause too much trouble. And...the last one. The fact that most people complain about vehicles shouldn't concern you, especially when I clearly stated that the problem was having too many vehicles and that the solution was to have less of them. It was not a safe bet to assume that I was jealous because I was subtley saying that lots of vehicles cause lots of problem shouting to the world that more vehicles attract more issues. I don't understand why you're even coming back for more at this point.

My solution was more of a solution to your being upset at his success, which is obvious when you tell him to not hoard vehicles. You are very wrong. I spend a lot of time doing debates (some of which have opened my eyes on certain topics). One vehicle is easier to sweep away than ten, granted you are more than likely talking about keeping them all grouped up, which is still his decision. He may have been moving them due to them being compromised. Our camp was compromised and we had to relocate all of our vehicles, granted there were two hidden in another location. Due to the fact most people complain about vehicles being hard to find and then bashing those that hoard them (My group used to keep five around the clock), it was a safe bet to assume you were pissed off at him. ;)

Any1 else having this issue: We watch our server close. Today we found a player who some how had a "hacked body" and 15 more copies of it standing at the gas pump. So like any admin should we restarted the server. We like to do 2x restarts to ensure ppl get tents back (usually works) and vehicles respawn. Now the server issue. We had other admin "friends" that restart their servers(not using this service, hence the post here) ALOT and they can restart AND play in less then a 5-10 minutes time frame... We restart our server and sometimes cant log back in for an hour. Seriously? Please help if you same issue OR if you have a suggestion of what I might be doing worng on my end. My suggestion is simple. Disabling 3rd person while player is on foot. When you try to use 3rd person on foot it would give message that its disabled when you are walking and will switch you back to first person. Why this? Because 3rd person gives unrealistic advantages. You can spot targets from roof or behind walls/bush without your target to have anyway to detect you while you watch all his moves. This would still keep the luxury of driving vehicles on 3rd person. I know many people prefer to do this over first person because its much more easier and fun. Before anyone says this can't be done on ArmA2 engine it can be. City Life 2 RPG mod has this feature.

Disgruntled employee here; Enjoy the pickings. Server: US 262 Co ords: 139, 040 Ak- 107's, as50 thermals, too much shit to list honestly. Plus most of the vehicles, minus one I think. Have at it, thank me later.

You really dont understand. Its regular DayZ, but its privately owned. The owners and admins are allowed to add in starting loadouts, vehicles, and other things. These are good, legitimate servers that everyone enjoys, and most are hack free. I personally enjoy playing on Atlanta Chernarus and Survival Operations servers. Both have good admins, large amounts of vehicles, and provide fun.

Hrrm I must be out of the loop cause as the admin of a server I can't tell you where fuck all is going to be unless the server just restarted and due to 1.7.2.5 and Hive 0.7.3 I can guarantee the vehicles are going spawn back at their original first load spawn points and thats about it. I don't know where players are. I don't know where peoples camps are. All I know is where my stuff is and thats about it. I can't spawn vehicles, I can't spawn weapons. I don't know where anything is on the server if its not where its supposed to be at. If someone else finds a vehicle before I do, it could be anywhere at that point and all I can guarantee is it will return to its original spawn point on the next scheduled restart and thats it. Far as whats being described by the OP, the only server admins that can do this kind of thing are no different than all the "players" of this mod that do the exact same thing via scripts and injection hacks. The admin using this kind of thing has no more power than a hacking player does. The only difference is the admin won't ban themselves for seeing what they're doing in their own logs. But...BattlEye will ban them eventually, just like it will with all the players that are "hacking just enough to not get caught". So, all told, the OP is completely irrelevant. Misinformed, and doesn't understand what server admins can actually do....which, if they're not using hack programs...amounts to pretty much nothing more than a normal player can do.

Vehicles are great for making short hops in the northern, unpopulated sections of Chenarus and storing all of your loot, but I try not to get attached to them. Generally, if I find a vehicle, I use it until it's out of fuel or until I get to where I was going in the first place. Holding on to one is just too cumbersome and makes you stick out too much in my opinion.

He's completely right in his judgment though. Even with the limited amount of power admins are given they are abusing it as much as they possibly can. (Not all but many, possibly the majority). Everything from reseting the server after they are killed or lose something to locking servers when they first open so they can round up everything they want. Even with severely limited power they are abusing it as much as they possibly can. I can't even fathom the abuse that would occur is many of them were given even more power. Which is sad cause there are admins out there who genuinely want to test and provide the best experience they can for people on there server. Unfortunately they are overshadowed by people buying servers so they can get any advantage they can, rocket has stated that admins should be no different than anyone else. Yet even now they can horde vehicles and save there own camps like no one else. So yeah, he's got a damn point.

As a massive number have already said, all we needed was an update on the status of the next patch. It's worlds easier to wait patiently when you aren't being ignored. Since tents and vehicles are not saving, the game is unplayable for many of us trying to make the game more than a simple deathmatch. Thank you very much for the response and the info.

You don't people will just cry if you have one anyways. Why on my server i put all the Vehicles on the corner of the map, and put tank traps all around them so NO ONE CAN HAVE THEM AHAHAHAHAHAH

Heya, ill keep it short and sweet. Theres a few of us (3-8 online on a random night) who wouldnt mind there being more of us. Mostly to roll in bigger numbers, a group of 8 consistantly would be nice so we may raid in bigger numbers. we have a server we dont hack we range from "hero's" to "shoot on sight bandits" (mostly shoot) we screw around (who doesnt like to jump atv's off mountains) we raid (serious time, tatical, no-schmucks) you need some experience (dont be the guy who somehow is unconcious and bleeding out because he couldnt handle the zombies he pulled) you need general DayZ knowledge (loot, vehicles, navigation) you need to be willing to learn AND teach. you need to be chill. (no one wants to game with a douchebag) I'll say we'll certainly talk with you before we just say "get in", to make sure youre not a danger to yourself or us. Mostly us... Add me on steam - Motofox

There is an urban myth that vehicles spawn around the map, but when you look for them... THEY ARE GONE. However, it is well known that the natural habitat for vehicles is now deep in the forests near camps with hoarded gear. I.e. Vehicles are rare, groups instantly hoard them, you're lucky as a lone survivor if you ever see one. I found/seen my first vehicle after about 50 days of playing DayZ, and it was a bus hugging some trees in the wilderness, as buses do. I generally just live by the idea that there are no vehicles in DayZ because they are so rare. Most groups that have vehicles tend to just use them as storage, and as a sort of trophy.

We need more vehicles not less :( At least more motocycles and bicycles

It appears that I need to educate you. To begin, your solution is irrelevant to the problem. Normally I would assume that you were being a dick, but I have to assume another alternative. See, you're here assuming that I was jealous of his "success"...where did that come from? Did I say or imply anything about his endeavors? I'll save you the trouble of answering such a complicated question: no, I did not. Well, I'm going to go out on limb here and assume that you can't handle someone who even slightly disagrees with you, even if it's minor or virtually nonexistent. Your entire post falls apart because you structured it around a stupid assumption. Had you been able to properly comprehend my post, you'd know that I was referring to the OP's error in hoarding vehicles. Is there anything wrong with that? No, there isn't. Hoarding vehicles is fine. However, you're going to have wasted your time when something like this happens. There's no reason to hoard those vehicles if they can be swept away so quickly with little notice. I'll wrap this up with your last point about me whining about the OP's success. Nowhere in my post am I whining; if you could point it out that would be wonderful. Otherwise, I ask that you admit that your words were wrong :)
