These last couple days I've been keeping a log of my movements across a particular server on a map. It looks like this: Where I've been and had eyes on I airbrush blue. As you can see I started in the South-West and ran up the side of the map. A few of the blue paths are from memory though. The major thing that I've omitted in case somebody identifies the server and removes them are the tents/camps that I've found along the way which I mark with a coloured square depending on the value of loot inside. I've found roughly 7 tents with high quality loot, another 3 with low quality loot and about 12 abandoned tents. Slightly disappointed with those results considering the time I've put in but making a permanent record like this does have advantages: Regear faster after a respawn Quicker access to consumables in an emergency Interpolating other players travel routes helps decide the best place to put my camp Notice vehicle/camp location patterns which may transfer to other servers This is my favourite server and with the fix to tents and vehicles I'd like to make it my home. Unfortunately I lost my offroad pickup and other vehicle on the night that the patch came out so this running about has been primarily looking for a new vehicle. I haven't seen any yet, so I'm beginning to think either a scripter teleported them all to an island/the sea or they are being hoarded off map. It's taking forever running about on foot. Does anybody else keep a log like this? Also has anybody got any suggestions on where I should look next? (that isn't off map, fuck doing that on foot)

The Idea itself is good, but how do you want to destroy these vehicles? You would need a M132 launcher. In addition you could just roll around and kill everything in your line of sight. if they add more anti tank weapons in the game it would be worth thinking of.

when i was there last night there was only the bus left for vehicles and we took that, banned now, shouldve driven over their tents.

I'd really like to see a lot of the vehicles that don't appear in DayZ, but the real issue is it would be just plain unfair. Explosives in DayZ are rare and anyone with an armored vehicle could just roam around running over people and destroying everything with little to no resistance. It would take a lot of AS50 rounds to destroy one of those things, and chances are you won't have enough ordinance to stop them. I'd like to see maybe one of the medevac variants appear, as they have no weaponry and would only serve as an armored vehicle. Down one step further, I'd even be happy to see Humvees with armor and/or a machine gun as those are vulnerable to small arms fire and it wouldn't be overpowered.

it might have been like that I only started even looking for vehicles in 1.7.2.5 so it might have been changed but yes we had a ural and a hatchback we where able to fill up with what the wiki said its item max was,tents are like that too. hope this helps =)

DayZ - Surviving, Camps, Coalitions? Endgames?

I have been following the game and forums for a while now, and have noticed something... People say that they want some form of endgame, some say they don't. Without an end, technically there is no point to this game. Hear me out before the trolling starts though... By raiding an town, you can grab some matches, a hunting knife, a larger backpack and a hatchet, a finally a water bottle and a few cans of food. Now the point of the game is survival right? So, what happens next? You go into the woods. You find a pond. You fill up your water bottle. You find an animal. You hatchet it to death, you cut up its corpse, go back to your pond in the woodline. You start a fire, you eat, you drink, and thats it. Endgame. You dont need the loot, and you dont need much more than that. Seems like a bit of a pointless game now eh? So there is something that i think would be a grand idea to add a bit of diversity to the game. A way to implement the communities, the camps, coalitions into the game. A way to make survival a bit more interesting. Force people to have to hit the towns. Remove the hunting knives, but keep the mechanics behind cooking. Say for example that you can have a hot meal and it replends 800 blood, but that to get your food you have to get it from somewhere dangerous. You add another level of survival to the game. You can hit a barn and find cans of food yes, but then people still have the option to stay away from large towns. If you really want to get something worthwhile though, you have to go into the town. This means that survival groups who set up shop in towns and can start coalitions or camps can do markets, have people doing guard shifts etc, but at the same time it means that the bandits need to raid towns. It adds a whole new dimension of PvP to the game. Now, obviously certain parts such as zombie spawns etc will have to be tweeked to enable this, and there are many people who might not agree with this, but i really do think this could add a new dimension to the game. I know a lot of people have started to get fed up with this mod, and are waiting for the stand alone. At the minute im enjoying trying to help out people and killing bandits on sight, Thing is, once youve had all the guns, and can live in the wild, there isnt much to the game. Saying that, i still come back to it day after day because i like trying to find the stuff ive not had yet (which is still a hell of a lot of stuff!) Ive lived in the wild, had tents, had vehicles, but still not had half the weapons in the game, never killed more than 50 Z's in a single life, and love cutting about the large towns avoiding bad guys and snipers while trying to find beans and coke. Would be interested in hearing peoples view on this. I know its hard to implement, but what other ideas would people want in the standalone? -
Well, you could go fix a vehicle but since 2.6 was released i've just been seeing vehicles teleported to areas where nobody can get them. You're essentially just screaming "come here scripters". Anyway, you could also get a rifle and specifically hunt people with the bandit nameplate. Give out free med supplies to people who need them, or join the medics of the wasteland. You could become a bandit (highly frowned upon). Get satchels, blow up important buildings in elektro/cherno. Trol cherno/elektro by putting barbed wire and tank traps around the perimeter of the entire city. Just keep helping the new spawns who don't have bandit skins.

I am actually looking for a list of hosters for Private Hive. Things I am looking for: - Access to ALL files(Incuding mysql ones so I can edit in vehicles, etc.) - Can be a vps, dedicated, game server, etc. - 40-60 slots - Decent price ($100 or under) - Any map (May add more, but that seems like a good list to start off) Just trying to get a good group of hosters together to go through and check out. Fill free to throw in your refs so you make money off it if I choose your hoster. Thanks, PolarBearJ

Yeah, vehicles saving is great... when your server has vehicles (all servers with instance ID's on 1.7.2.6 of over 10,000 are not so lucky my friend :( )

1. Tents & vehicles will only be on server where you found the vchicle/placed the tent. So the one where you have found the tractor. 2. Tractor got : 50 items slots (Not for 50 items but for items taking up a total of 50 slots) , 3 weapon slots (3 rifles or 2 rifles + 1 handgun or 1 rifle and 2 handguns etc.) 2 backpack slots (Items in the backpack dosent count towards the 50 item slots. you can put in 2 full backpacks) for more info about the tractor visit http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/Tractor -
They will be on the server that you found them on only. They do not follow you. Tents will only on the server that you place it. Look at this Link it will help you http://dayz.wikia.com/wiki/Vehicles

1.7.2.6: new servers NOT spawning vehicles

We were assigned a new Instance ID for our server yesterday as vehicles that were destroyed were not respawning correctly. Unfortunately, with the new instance ID we have absolutely no vehicles on our server, this has been confirmed by the server logs. Our new ID is over 11000 as opposed to the old one which was in the 6000's. After opening a ticket with out hosts (vilayer) we received this response: Not sure exactly what that means but yeah, something to do with new ID's it seems... -

Awesome group of players! I joined them in vehicle hunting last night, and by the end of the night we had a big convoy of vehicles heading to their camp. Playing with these guys was the most fun I've had in DayZ in a while. -
Dear sir, that is just bull**** and you know it. Change the debug to default and you see your blood level fine from the icon or you just must be blind if you dont see your screen changing color, if it goes blurry when you have lower blood and hear your heartbeat. I give you that, at night time it could be harder but sure you can learn to live with that...you know that is why there is the icon atm? And "debug", its for seeking errors as debugging... its for things like does shots register correctly (damage), headshots, kills etc... not because you need to know how large your e-penis is. I can confirm these fixes. latest updates on beta patch and dayz, same with the server. 1. Tents(all of them, old and new) and vehicles save correctly. (only the known fuel bug, so no need to cry about it. Just keep jerry or two in the vehicle as for now) 2. No artifacts from soldies. 3. I can live without the debug monitor just fine. For some poor souls it seems to be overwhelming... edit: For the 1000th time. The Cheating. There is nothing rocket can do it at the moment, its the arma that is too trusting and easy to exploit. Please read before you write that rockets has to do something with it. He cant change the arma engine at the moment, its whole differend story when the standalone comes out!

I am the Co-Admin of US 2866. We had some concern about vehicles not being in their spawn locations right after we patched to 1.7.2.6. Today, we found a camp along the west border with the missing vehicles, these included a Ural, Heli, ATV, 3 bikes, and a motorbike. Also in this camp was a Cardboard Box (Medical) filled with 5 of every gun and 50 of every miscellaneous item in ARMA 2. We filled the Ural up with everything from their camp and began moving our vehicles to our camp (won't specify unless necessary for obvious reasons). I land the heli, run to camp, and notice our V3S is gone (but not our gear) so I run back to heli to take off. I immediately start taking fire from what I assumed (based on RoF and sound) was a mk48 mod 0. I take off and, while bleeding, land somewhere else and disconnect immediately. One of my members who was driving the Ural over 2 klicks away from me begins taking fire from another mk48 mod 0. The player list at this time was made up of 4 of my people (including me) and 2 others. We suspected teleporting and, having just dealt with a hacker camp, assumed the owners of that camp were out to get us. We shut the server down with due reason of hacking. DayZ - [sE5512] - Private Hive (1.7.2.6/Beta 96584) | 3rdP:on | CH:on | Tags:off - hosted by Lillen Hi i got bored with all the hackers/scripters that teleported around killing people so I created a 40 player server using a private hive for anyone exept hackers/scripters to play on. With a private hive, your character will not save to other servers. You will be forced to play on my server if you want to play the same character you create on my server. Server is Passworded for extra protection to keep scripters and hackers away. Some advantages to this are: No server hopping/ghosting. Local bans to cheaters/scripters without the need to justify on the DayZ forums. More vehicles! I've added plenty of vehicles to share including four helicopters for some nice air battles or just wanting to try flying. Vehicles and Tents save! Thats right. Inventories, locations, you name it, it saves. Four choppers, 3 SUV, and about 50 other vehicles to find and use! If a vehicle is deemed out of bounds/is destroyed on a server restart, the vehicle will be reset back to its original spawn point or its latest location were you saved it. Less lag/desync as the hive is local to my server and not being flooded by thousands of servers. Server Specs: CPU: 8x 2.2 GHz RAM: 8GB DDR2 HDD: 600 GB Timezone: GMT +1 So come try it out. It will be up 24/7. It will be fast loading with minimal lag. First was the NW Airfield, then a Castle somewhere. Sadly I don't record video in game and am generally too busy alt-f4'ing to take a screenshot. Will post one if it happens again.

heli crash after ever server restart!(need help)!!!

This happened to me a few days ago. The only solution I found was getting a new ID (which means losing tents, vehicles, dead bodies, everything). The thing is that seems that 1.7.2.6 has a bug: servers created in this version are not spawning any vehicles... So now I have no helicopter, no bycicles, nothing, no vehicles at all... Fucking bugs, really. -
I know it's not the leaking problem since we have almost all of the vehicles and after server restart they all lose of their fuel. I just thought if the problem was only on that server but apparently it's on all servers and being under fixing.

Hackers? If you're talking about the unusually high amount of vehicles, it's because we were on the Vilayer hive, which has x2 vehicle spawns. I'm pretty sure you have to look all the way up, then spam the sit animation. Glad you liked the video :)

Fuel seems to be bugged. We have a few fully repaired vehicles and they are all out of fuel after every server restart.
