Looking for someone to survive with...

Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have over 200 players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved. If you're interested check out or website @ www.bsbnetwork.com and try to hop on our Teamspeak 3 server and say "hi!" 212.187.246.58:9140
  2. ... are hackers. The server is going offline this week, so if you want any of this stuff everyone is welcome to it. We don't really play much on 257 any more because as soon as 20+ people get on the hackers log in and start teleporting vehicles/boats/people around the map. It's pretty much the same with any busy server. Esp if you ban them.
  3. A Bad Demoman: About my fourth week of playing DayZ I found someone's tent up near black lake hidden inside a hill with two satchel charges in it. I promptly took these and I went on my way raiding the north eastern airfield. After finding nothing of interest I thought to myself well since I have these satchel charges maybe I should learn how to use them. So I set one down having only the knowledge that they can be set for 30 seconds and for remote detonation. I scrolled through the options and saw deactivate the bomb, set bomb detonation 30 secs and touch-off bomb(s)(1). Thinking "Oh hey that touch-off option must be to set it for remote detonation," I clicked it and the next thing I know I'm flying one hundred feet into the air in my death pose . Well there's nothing like first hand experience with explosives . Bike Fail: After dieing to some server hoppers while alt+tabbed out watching a video my friends sent me over mumble I respawned near Electro and made my way to the light house by Cap Golova and found myself a bike. This was the first time I had ever found one as my usual server is a clan server and all the vehicles are probably hoarded off the map being used as tents, thanks disciples of anarchy. Taking it for a spin through Cherno and then back through to Electro attracting a huge train of zombies I notice a crawling one had spawned. I aimed by new bike right for his head and sped up to 45km/h expecting to roll this zombie and as soon as my tire hits his body I bunny hop ten feet into the air, fall back down, fracture my legs and knock over the bike. Meanwhile my zombie train was gaining on me fast so I emptied my entire MP5 clip into the zombie's head for ruining my ride and ran off behind some trees to lose the aggro then rage quit :emptycan: . Suicidal Hero: After finding my first DMR with my hero skin I thought it would be a great idea to counter sniper the spawn killing d-bags in Cherno and Electro. I logged into a medium pop server and carefully made my way into Cherno managed to not get capped climbing the hospital ladder and sat up there scanning for bandits. After about two minutes I spotted one going towards the industrial area with his SVD Camo clearly going to try and kill fresh spawns. I took aim with my DMR held my breath and took my first shot aiming right for center of mass. Unfortunately I had forgotten how to correctly use the mil-dots and my shot went low and hit his legs, breaking them. The shot didn't knock him out and he managed to see me and took a wild shot at me missing by a few feet so I hit Z to go prone and my character suddenly had a brilliant idea. "Hey I should get a running start on this dive it will be great," and in those 2 seconds of running before my guy actually went prone I made it to the edge of the roof and then went prone diving off the edge and dieing when I hit the ground . The bandit ran off and lived because after I respawned there weren't any death messages besides mine.
  4. Banicks

    White Knight hackers?

Hackers/Scripters do a manner of different things. Some will kill and troll players, others will prosper with weapons, vehicles etc.
  5. wTheOnew

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.6 Rolling Update

Few things I've run into in this patch. - Vehicles come back with no fuel and everything needing to be repaired after a server restart. The vehicle location and gear saved but the state of the parts apparently don't. - There are still occasional graphical glitches. Can't get close enough to whatever is causing them to figure out what it is though. (no more due to dead bodies though :D ) - Bandit kills don't get recorded on the debug monitor. I can flip between default/debug and have everything besides bandit kills be updated.
  6. Having a read through one of the haxxor retard forums, these dudes are charging 'legit' players for their services. Teleport trips, spawning crates and vehicles etc. Players are actually paying these fuckers to spawn shit for them, fucking paying them. I don't know whether to laugh or cry...it really is that fucking lame..is there another word that is lamer than lame ?? Funnier still, other hackers are telling him he is sad for making money of someone elses hard work ..my mind boggles at these fucking clowns. Back in the day they would have got sorted at school with a quick jab to the face..unfortunately we aren't back in the day. Worst, well ,the saddest part is that... apparently he is struggling to keep up with demand. Most ridiculous part of the thread... Evidently they don't want to be banned, and want to play legitimately. Fuck me right.
  7. Hmmm...So on the private hives it will still save my things right? Vehicles/tents/gear but just on that private hive. On the public hive it will save aswell but on a new "account" right? We are ready for it. To be honest this feature was one of those that truelly interested us. :)

    Vehicle Tarps/Coverings

You are aware that the vehicles have a save function right? Should even have been fixed in the new patch
  9. SumoS

a long list of dayz ideas.

Anyway, back on topic. Is there any need to chop down trees? Admittedly you could use them to block roads to stop vehicles, use them as a temporary bridge, make planks, etc. Ultimately not a priority until we need materials to build encampments. Besides surely we could just chop the tree with the axe and use that wood? Just delete the tree after using it several times. that way it cuts down on the server memory and no physics needed.

    Humanity

Why do you need a clan for anything? Clans are for lazy bustards that can't be arsed hunting and gathering their own gear. Tonight I have been in all the major airfields, and a fair few of the rest of the military spawn areas, in a four hour visit to chernarus. I don't have any vehicles, I did it all on foot, I do not belong to a clan. I have had enough time to create 4 loot piles(for respawn purposes) and get everything that I need to survive quite handsomly(I also had to respawn medical twice for antibiotics after getting an infection). I managed a little indulgence by slaughtering 200 infected whilst I was at it. You can keep clans - I have never survived more than one session when teaming up.

    Buried Stash idea.

This would only be a good idea if it wasn't overpowered and had rules 1. you can only bury in a open field 2. you can bury 2 items max and no more then one dig site a life. 3. metal detectors and dogs to sniff out items. 4. no burying vehicles!!! 5. detection in a 25 meter radius 6. anyone who kills you finds your treasure map and has a time limit to get your items

    LAV-25 or AAV AMTRAC

They should definitely add those vehicles, if there is one thing this game needs desperately it is to be further unbalanced, I'm sick of there being even the slightest possibility that I might actually get killed by a zombie in this game.

    LAV-25 or AAV AMTRAC

So I've been playing the ARMA II campaign, and I'm on the 4th mission (Manhattan) In this mission, you get a bunch of transport vehicles at your disposal, including a LAV-25 and an AAV. Pretty much, the mission objective is to go around the northeast side of Chernarus and find these terrorist camps. Then you roll in with your big scary tanks and fuck bishes up. for those of you who don't know, the LAV is the one that resembles a light tank with a smaller cannon and it rolls around on 8 wheels. The AAV is a big steel box on treads with a little turret on top. Both of these are heavily armored, can knock down trees with ease, and can carry a large amount of people So I thought that it could be a pretty good addition to the game, but only if it was insanely hard to repair and always spawned completely broken. to fully repair a LAV, you would need: 2 Engine Parts 30 Scrap metal 8 Wheels 3 fuel tank parts 30 Jerry cans It would also only spawn at one location, and it would not be a garunteed spawn To fully repair an AAV, you would need: 4 engine parts 50 Scrap metal 2 treads (new item, would be as rare as engines) 12 Wheels 1 Fuel tank parts 40 Jerry cans same as above, one spawn, not garunteed Also, Both vehicles would be Amphibious In terms of ammo, the explosive ammo would be found as barracks loot, take up 3 spaces, and be as rare as a DMR The machine gun ammo would just be M240 mags Attached are pictures of a LAV and an AAV
  15. myst*Thenox and myst*hotsexytoy teleported all vehicles including us at difference place 3 time. Server lu486.
  16. Probably just another hacker. Some of them have the capability to teleport all players or vehicles to one location, i've seen two servers now where all vehicles in the map were at electro or cherno. They can also use god mode and teleport to you and kill you, which happened to me a few days ago!
  17. Inception.

Don't you just love major FPS lag?

Yeah, only problem is that this server is where I have all of my vehicles on. Thanks for the tips, though.
  18. Hello, We at Oaks Clan are looking for active players to make our new server their home. Server is monitored by Admins almost 24/7 and server restarts every 5-6 hours to keep a smooth gameplay at all times. We are running Vilayer.com private HIVE, which means the folllowing advantages: - 1.7.2.5 works properly with no vehicle/tent saving issues. - Vehicles will save properly - Tent duping will no longer happen - Item duping will no longer be possible - Fresh server: All vehicles are to be repaired and there are 30 vehicles instead of 15 - More Admin Control over hackers - Bigger player base than official hive right now! - Server is daytime 24/7 for now You can easily find our server by typing "Oaks" in the filter: DayZChernarus - (1.7.2.5/95248) (Regular|3D:ON|CH:ON) - [24H DAYTIME!] [2X VEHICLES] [NEW SERVER] Oaks Clan - Vilayer.com The server is located in Luxembourg (Europe) and has a great ping all across Europe and even people from America and Asia. Ping kick is set at 200 so anyone with a ping below that is welcomed! Any problems or suggestions, feel free to post them here or feel free to add me on Steam, my username is the same as on this forum. B)
  19. My feel good moment was on US 583 and I had the chopper and some vehicles playing solo. Got alot of jerrycans to take back to the chopper just to fly it around because you know how things can disapear in the game. Coming back to the chopper hiding spot I hear it running and when I sneak up its on the ground and two guys are moving loot around. All I have after a respawn is a 45 and a gernade. I decide to just throw the frag at them and just run away. The frag goes off and moments later I see [EG-ADMIN] Bezzy dies then I am teleported in the air and I ALT-F4 before I hit the ground. Coincidence? Who knows but it was awesome!

    Soft restart

Yes but is your server actually running 1.7.2.6? Mine had loads of problems with tents and vehicles prior to that, now all fixed.

Tips from a 100+ day survivor

Yea I believe such dangerous gameplay is far more rewarding then just hoard weapons and vehicles and basicaly never to use them because you are affraid of losing them. One tip, before you bandage or blood transfusion anybody, tell them to drop their gun or put hatchet on toolbelt. This will drasticaly improve your chances of surviving while maintaining friendly / hero gameplay :-). Ofcourse if we were in real apocalypse, I would probably hid in the middle of a large forest and avoid people like a plague, but luckily, DayZ is just a game :).

How do you decide to kill somone?

    A. Snipers. B. Bandit Skins. C. Armed people with dead bodies near. D. People firing off their guns like lunatics. E. People who piss me off in teamspeak. F. If they have something I want or desperately need. G. People aiming guns at me intentionally. I. People with the zombie skin sort of trying to act like zombies and that. J. People driving around in vehicles trying to run people over or just plain fucking about with the vehicle. K. People who didn't realize I forgot the 'H'. in this list.
  23. Servers have a bug where sometimes on restarts they do not load any of the tents/sandbags/barbed wire/tank traps/vehicles. My advice would be to check back after the next server restart since if your tent was destroyed it would show up flattened.
  24. How about if the actions you take in a given life allow you to select a related skin type when you respawn? Just off the top of my head, I'd say that meeting the conditions for the skin would allow you to pick that skin the next three times you respawn, after which you'd have to meet the criteria again. Some examples: Bandit Skin: Kill 10 players in one life or reach a low humanity threshold. Hero Skin: Kill 2 bandits in one life or reach a high humanity threshold. Zombie Hunter Skin: Kill 150 zombies in one life. Medic Skin: Perform 10 medical procedures (bandage, transfusion, Epipen, etc.) on other players in one life. Rugged Survivor Skin: Regain perfect health after surviving a serious ailment (hypothermia, fracture, <3000 blood, infection) 3 times in one life. Hunter Skin: Gut 15 animals and cook 30 pieces of meat in one life. Driver Skin: Drive more than 50km in one life. Mechanic Skin: Perform 10 or more maintenance operations (repair/refuel) on vehicles in one life. Helicopter Pilot Skin: Fly a helicopter for 30 minutes or more in one life. The list could go on and on, of course, and the numbers are straight off the top of my head, but the idea is that a player's appearance would offer a hint as to their style of play. Totally optional, of course. When you respawn, you'll get the usual Male/Female choices, but if you meet any of the skins' requirements, you'll also see "Bandit" or "Medic" or "Hunter" on the list. You still spawn at the coast with normal starting gear. The key element here is that there can be no bluffing, since you can't wear a skin without earning it (Camo/Ghillie excepted, obviously). A guy who looks like a survivor could be anything, but a guy who looks like a bandit has to have had a blood-soaked run in the recent past.
  25. Not sure about vehicles, because we lost our Truck. Which was putted completely north-east of the 225² map... between a lot of trees next to our tents which were completly full. 1.7.2.6... Tents ok. Vehicles not sure.
