So I've restarted my server on a 6 hour basis but randomly sometimes tents/vehicles do not load and I have to keep restarting the server until they do. I've read that there's a certain way to restart a DayZ server so it loads all the databases correctly but nobody ever goes into detail on how this is achieved. Could someone please explain to me what this correct procedure is, if there is one? Thanks.

i think if your gonna edit the spawn rate, you are gonna have to mod the actual server.pbo, or other files, and all would need it to connect. It is possible to disable signature check, but that would allow everyone with theyre own version of dayz to connect to your server. as far as i know :) and it might be the same with the light on the shoulder, but dunno. But i would like to hear your finding very much mate. you might find something usefull :) ive also been looking at adding snakes and crocs to lingor, would be very fun hehe. by default the vehicles will be removed after x amount of days, if not used, like wire, sandbag and tanktraps are. ive been fidling abit with the vehicle script my self, but the Bliss script is different from Saintly, so its gonna be interesting to have a look at it hehe. im just sitting in school, not paying any attention at all haha. wanna get home now.... :blush:

I see your point about the sandbox but DayZ is full of rewards for other activities. Whether it's killing other players for their gear, healing others for the hero skin and the advantages that come with it, finding and fixing up vehicles to get around better, hunting animals for better food, etc., they all have incentives. Killing infected on the other hand usually serves no practical purpose and is something to be avoided, which is exactly the opposite of what it should be, imho.

Sure, as I said, I am only experimenting on my server just to see if I can modify stuff to my own liking. For example, I am using a modified vehicle spawn script that is deleting every vehicle, that wasnt found so far, first and after that, generating new, fresh vehicles from the pool. But thats just personal taste. If its possible I would like to get the Holos flashlight working and being able to attach the military flashlight to the shoulder on Chernarus as it is possible on Lingor. A faster initial item spawning when approaching buildings would be nice too, to prevent finding complete empty places. Still need to look deeper into it.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of gameplay evolves on Takistan. It's a cool map but in my opinion it relies on vehicles to be any good because of the massive dessert areas. It was great in Arma for the tank/aircraft battles but I'm not sure how well it'll translate into DayZ though. Anyway, good luck!

People complaining that tents are popping back up on server restarts after being destroyed. No one at any point ever said they wouldn't. This hotfix was released to make tents and vehicles functionable again. They are now returned to the current state they were in before they broke, with a bonus of tents being able to be placed anywhere now. I double saved my tents and one saved, one didnt. So yeah, the fix was a success.

on the far left of the map, is a small village called myshkino, grid 01,07. It spawns a pick up, they are pretty decent vehicles. on road and off road.

Server is getting a much needed patch tonight. Will take care of the weird issues that started happening all weekend with players who got killed respawning with all their gear, players who didn't get killed spawning with nothing, and the vehicles not respawning for the last two nights. Thank you to the people who brought these issues to my attention, and to Vilayer for the assistence.

hoarding vehicles is the worst issue currently, hackers/ loser clans hold all the vehicles off map and nobody can use them lol... way to go dickwads

This sounds really awesome. Me and a few friends were recently playing on a private hive that had a few different clans and 50 vehicles on the map. Made for some fun and interesting combat and interactions. Too bad they got really mad at us after we raped them at stary and locked the server because they want to "play nice" and not have any bandits on their server.

I'm in the same boat. Speaking of which all I've seen since the update are 3 boats on the land down in Kamenka and a PBX with a bicycle on top of a mountain up north. Scripters must have got a bit excited at the prospect of vehicles that save and so teleported them all to their location. I've found 20 high value tents in the north but have yet to find a vehicle at any of the camps. I would've thought I'd see an ATV at least, starting to think they're all being hoarded off map.

I have been searching for days now through vehicle spawns and also through the northern woods. I don't know where all the vehicles are!? I have scanned all of the woods near the borders I mean I just don't know where these people are hoarding them. I want to find a vehicle so badly..

Totally not going to point out how you would need to run for 22 hours to travel from one edge of the supposed map to the other with said speed and distance. Also finding friends would become a bit more of a nightmare with a larger map. Especially if we're still stuck with the same rarity of vehicles...

Was on US 2806, had 4 vehicles... the next day no vehicles and none could be found at any of the spawn points. Maybe the server needed to be restarted again, i dunno.

No need for thanks. If anything I should be thanking you guys. It's players like you that makes running a server worth it. As far as vehicles we have been having a couple hicups with tents/vehicles not loading in where they should be. However I have always been able to fix these problems QUICKLY and since the new patch we have not experienced any loss of equipment/vehicles.I hope that your issue was an isolated event and if it wasn't please do let me know so that I can make a note of it to the server rep.Thanks for your patience guys and I hope to see you again in US 3040.

Never posted for a ban appeal before, in any game, due to not being the kind to cause issues. However, tonight 9/7/12 at around 9:30PM EDT I was banned by the admin of US 3040 DayZ Rangerz hosted by SurvivalServers.com for "Vehicle Creation". I think I know the issue but I have no way of contacting the admin ([DRZ] Maximus?) to attempt to get an appeal. Potential issue: Friend and I were fixing up a vehicle and I had just put a tire on it, as I went to get our scrap metal I lagged out. After several attempts of apparent "kicked from game" messages (was being broadcast via chat according to friend) I finally logged in and suddenly got a message saying: You were kicked off the game. (BattlEye: Admin Ban (Vehicle Creation)) I noticed in my gear right before that I had a tire again. I am guessing it lagged and thought I "created" a tire because I had already used it but still had one. I didn't "create" a tire, but I can see how it thought I did. If I was really a person able to "create vehicles" and things of that sort I likely wouldn't have been so nice as to let you all fly away with a perfect Heli while we spent hours fixing 2 vehicles, would I? You all scared the hell out of us while you were refueling that Heli btw. :P With any luck someone knows how to contact the admin of the server, or the admin sees this. Would love to get back to what little gear we had on the vehicles. <S> X

Same, so far we have lost: 2 offroad trucks 2 motorcycles 3 buses 1 red UAZ 1 grey GAZ 1 S1203 1 helicopter This happened over a couple of days, as we tend to lose our vehicles often, because we don't hoard them for no reason. Usually convoys or food/fuel trips. Along with these lost vehicles was a fuckton of gear. Cool, they fixed tents, but they broke vehicles. Of course.

Off-road Military Pickup is beast. It's too bad that they're usually destroyed - which takes 7 days to respawn - or hoarded. Hoarding is now occurring more because vehicles actually save now. Me and My buddies are constant players and we have a number of other players who come and go as they please... we have a team speak server. We aren't really all into Player killing more just killing zombies fixing vehicles and trying to help other survivors that don't blast at us without asking questions. My steam name is Found2bmissing and the invite applies to anyone looking to team up make jokes and kill zombies... I'm fully gear'd with ghillie suit and silenced m4 so you're more then welcome to any weapons we find... We're just about playing for fun... we try and stay on low population servers to avoid the trigger happy bandits. We aren't trying to be "Law keepers" just trying to have fun. Honestly we prefer to play with people 18+ players do to the implied maturity We aren't looking to team up with hackers or people that are stricly player killers. Our ONLY rule is "Using our teamspeak server to meet up with and kill another player will get you perma banned" In a world laid waste by chaos... Humanity is more often then not Found2BMissing

Our group has the helicopter, plus a bit extra. The helicopter saves from the back window, scroll over it and look down. Be sure to have jerry cans on the chopper, as all our vehicles at this point spawn in on a restart with no fuel.

hey there :D me and my buddies have just finished repairing our helicopter and have been flying a little around. Now we want to quite for today, and save the helicopter, like when you save other vehicles :) But my friend can't seem to ''save'' it, is it possible to save it, or does it not need saving? and do you have to fix everything? (we haven't fixed the windows yet)

I hear you. Personally I think it isn't just ridiculous, its borderline embarrassing to get continuously ganked and our vehicles removed by fuck-wit hackers on a server my squad pays for, without the ability to control who can access the server. I can see why the devs want open servers on the main hive. I can see why people report, name and shame abusive admin. But sadly, it seems it might be getting to the stage were if we aren't breaking admin rules, we're just idiots. I've been admin kicked from other servers so many times I've lost count. I see locked servers and 3-4 slot servers connected to the main hive on DayZCommander all the fuckin' time. The temptation to do the same is getting to us. The first day I get some squad action going on with my friends we see a chopper circling above us. We dive into the bushes as the chopper descends about 20 meters away from us and I stop shitting my pants for long enough to equip my rifle and take a closer look to see how many people are on board. Two bandits, the chopper rotates, one pointing the side mounted machine gun right at my face. I take him out, watch the chopper land and then cap the pilot. At this point I'm pretty much convinced I'm the craftiest motherfucker alive. Buzzing off the adrenaline of one of our first player encounters we loot that shit and crawl away so utterly stoked that we have gear we've never seen and a chopper. Sadly, five minutes later, my friend sees a ghillie suited guy appear right behind me, unload half a magazine into me, then the same happens to him. I'm pretty butt-hurt about that. QQ. But nah, we'll continuously keep seeing our hard work and commitment to this fantastic mod undone by said assmasters. Infact, it just makes me want to be nicer to any player out there that isn't a hacker and isn't obviously coming right at me. It's hard to find a game that makes my heart beat double-time and on that alone I think Rocket and his fellows have made something truly special. Battle-Eye will get better, most hackers will lose interest and wonder off, hopefully into oncoming traffic. No hackers will soften the hype-boner I'm carrying for DayZ.

It might come back afte server restart, sometimes missing vehicles come back after that. PS: Was it stored in a ditch surrounded by rocks near black lake?
