  1. To be honest, I never set any ground rules. I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience. Our biggest goal with our servers is to make sure people have a good time. Unfortunately that's really difficult to do with Utes. They're a bitch to manage. They require restarts every 45 min or so, hackers always try to hit it, and it brings out the WORST of the DayZ community. It turned into me babysitting the server all day instead of getting work done. I initially bought the server on Saturday to put it on Lingor. Before doing so I thought I'd try Utes. To my surprise it exploded in popularity and was almost always full. As of last night I made the decision to change it over to Lingor. It is a bummer to turn my back on the popularity but I can't devote the required time to maintain restarts and kick griefers. However, I'll be talking with a few of my clan members and if they can pitch in the time, I'll buy a 3rd server this weekend and put it on Utes. In the meantime, come give our Lingor server a try. It's the first time we've run Lingor on it so all the vehicles are up for grabs.
  2. If the helicopter was wrecked on day 1 prior to the update, it'll be 6 days before it re-spawns or whatever days prior and after to make 7. The hive controls vehicles, not the patches.

    DayZ takistan opinion

Ive been on this map since 10.30am GMT, There are some issues, regarding rocks and stuff floating off the ground. Had a hacker who teleported us to the middle of nowhere, but we were transported back in no time. Finding other players is easy as you can just look for zed activity in towns and villages. However snipers will need to get one shot or their plot will be discovered. there is cover and certain parts are green but not a lot of it at all. A huge desert with shrubbery here and there. There is a base like Sobor / Novy and it is a sight to behold, tents in the air, cars flying, gear spawning in ground (accessible mind) It's worth playing and is huge, but be warned you may be walking in one direction and you'll think you've gone off map. Finding loot is easy and there is a lot of it, maps are common. The air bases are packed full of loot (every time i visited there were farmers taking all the gear and putting it in hangars - very defensive) and there are enough military bases around to gear up in. The biggest let down is Vehicles, there are a lot of them and the problem is no Industrial areas so no spare parts. I have found busses, Gaz? bicycles, and another car type. I found only 1 chopper roto assembly and never came across a crashed chopper (there are some on map) Zeds lose interest after a short run, lose LOS and your safe, but like an update a while ago, they can sometimes see you for miles. Weapons are the norm, but I found them harder to find and did not come across a hatchet at all (They are in however) Not one tank trap nor fence. and only 1 tent. These observations were made since 10.30am so a lot of time was spent in game. Have fun and Be ready to die a lot.

    Vehicles still bugged?

Our Chopper and Vehicles saved before a hacker got to them, the only thing bugged was they have no fuel after the restart.
  5. Since the patch we had vehicles on two different servers, choppers included and they all dissapeared. All of them were stored at different places not near each other.
  6. Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have over 200 players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved. If you're interested check out or website @ www.bsbnetwork.com and try to hop on our Teamspeak 3 server and say "hi!" 212.187.246.58:9140
  7. You can join yes. Come on in! you dont need to trade anything! There are 3 choppers on our server and more vehicles than you need! good action at times! lots of fun. Just want more bandits on it.

    Who stole my Tractor?

If sandbag is gone too it's clear sign that upon restart server didnt get tents, sandbags, barb wire, tank trap and vehicles from hive. Vehicle position is always saved when you hop out of it. Only vehicle contents needs to be saved...
  9. What he also missed was that given the option to help people out, which people could also choose to do rather than kill them, and the time and effort made to find said gear and vehicles etc, that it is easy to be a dick on this game - like the dicks that lay barbed wire across doors simply to grief other players - also this flawed analogy supports hackers since why would u be upset about people killing you for your gear on a board game to someone just grabbing it all by cheating and maybe even giving you some which makes you happy. If this was a board game and u spent the last 10 hours grabbing gear and guns and some new player came in and just killed you - I think you'd punch them in the face and in fact if we were all in the same room on a lan and we knew who our killers were there would be a lot less killing or some peoples faces would be pushed through their monitor screens lol.
  10. I found only my second helicopter crash last night. I found it strange that I have seen next to none because I'm almost always running in wilderness areas where they seem to spawn to avoid being on the main road, most of my navigation is done via map and compass (gets frustrating sometimes :P). Of those two, one had shotgun shells, M107 Mags, MP5SD Mags, STANAG Mags, minor med supplies and an AK. The other had a Bizon and 1 mag for it, and then the same general loot military ammunition but no .50 cals. As other people in this thread have noted, simply because you guys are running the gauntlet on vehicles looking for the downed choppers doesn't mean that everyone who plays the game needs to be handicapped. Sure, they could lower the chance of spawn, but at this point, from where I'm standing the loot chance is fine. I've found two choppers in +/- 4-5 weeks of play.

    UK 206 Server Thread

Hacker just killed us on our ATV at the same time as he spawned a buttload of random vehicles on us.

  14. First off, I think this is one of the most intelligent arguments why banditry exists I have seen. Why is game design always obvious when you get it explained? The analogy might have a few rough points, but why not try to address the points made for suggestions to improve the game. First problem: An unaware player is an easy source of every kind of resource you want. An aware player turns you into an unaware player the second you take your sights off him. My proposal would be to introduce a lot more uncertainty into firefights. With extremely few exceptions, players should never be certain that first shot was a decisive factor, and every bullet should have a healthy potential to incapacitate a player. From the lowliest Makarov to the .50 rifle. Then every firefight would have a fair chance of putting you into disadvantage, even if you got first shot. Another point would be a possibility of shouldering your long gun, making it significantly more time-consuming to get it into action. And holstering your sidearm, but making it quick to draw. This would lead to more close betrayals done with handguns, making the outcome less certain (see above). Second problem: With hunting, it is quite to easy to get self-healed. Thus, if you get hurt, you tend to isolate instead of seeking help. Solution: Every major source of healing should come from other players, forcing you to rely on them. It should take easy to get resources for healing, but requiring cooperation to use them. It could be as simple as enforcing a restriction on the amount you can eat, rename the blood bags to something plausible and scatter them everywhere. Third problem: Weak zombies guard important resources, all of which can be carried away by players. This is an interesting dilemma. We need to make the zombies strong enough to represent a real threat, and further a threat that is more easily overcome in groups. In the current state of the game, I can as easily loot a spot myself by sneaking in instead of teaming up. If I arouse a zombie, a few rounds of .45 ACP ends the discussion, usually without waking the entire neighborhood. On the other hand, if getting those resources from the zombies are to difficult, it is easier to turn into banditry. My proposal would be to have much stronger zombies guarding geographically fixed resources. It would be a lot more interesting to run vehicles if you had to fill it up entirely at the gas stand, with no jerrycans. Then you would have to fight off zombies while doing it. I think more resources should be similar, forcing cooperation. A hospital could have high grade medical equipment for advanced treatment. See below for another example. Fourth problem: No cooperative long-term goals. A few lucky groups have choppers, but most people reach the pinnacle of their gear in a few days. I have a hidden tent, a sniper rifle, a couple of assault rifles and handguns, and loads of medical supplies and food. While I might start a likely unsuccessful search for an ATV, I cannot achieve more in DayZ, and the move that has the most positive influence on my status is playing Minecraft instead. One proposal would be to include a lot more vehicles requiring a whole lot more of maintenance. Imagine having to fix car in a repair shop while zombies are approaching. One guy mans the generator, one does the actual job, and two others needed to guard against the approaching horde. If cars where common, they would not have to worry about stealing the other guys cars, because everyone brought theirs. Another proposal are fortifications. I think these would be great, especially if you could deny zombie spawning inside the fortifications as long as they where manned. Then people could make safe zones that would need guards, but everyone else could put away their weapons and ease the tensions a bit. The downside is that every firestation and barrack in the game would be fortified; but if everyone could pass the fortifications, this would matter less. Barbed wire is a good idea, if it worked as a slowdown, not a block. Fifth problem: No persistent identity. This is the major reason for trolls all over the net. They can abuse other people behind their anonymity. And although you have a persistent account in DayZ, you have thousands of servers to pick from. I think the bandit system goes quite some way there, but it is far from finished. And while an argument against it is that people with different morals IRL does not have a sign saying so, we would have a much smaller group of survivors IRL, and word gets around. This would of course slant the gain towards cooperation instead of KoS, but I think bandits would still be able to make a fine living by sniping others and taking their resources. It would just be easier to see the profits of moving in groups, and especially downplay the dangers of meeting strangers.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.6 Rolling Update

There are a ton of people playing on private hives at the moment, myself included. I started when .5 came out because I kept getting killed in debug upon spawning. This was caused by the hive being over-taxed which had probably something to do with tents and vehicles not saving correctly. Add us with the people who are playing in Lingor, you have a fairly large number of people who are playing everyday that are not counted in the totals. Can't speak for the others, but I plan to come back when this is fixed or standalone is released. Just my 2cents..........
  16. we cooked dinner on your soldier clothes. Shortly after moving these vehicles to what we thought was a safer location, the V3S vanished into thin air before my eyes, and when we got back into the chopper someone started throwing a PBX boat at us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLH7QKW-UQY&feature=youtu.be wee wee.
  17. Is it true that vehicles saved in the Debug plains will now respawn on the map?
  18. Afraid not. I'd wish they put a reset timer on vehicles. Not used for 5 days, is reset. The chopper on my server is no where to be found :(

    Players 30+ years old

Have a look at our community :- http://www.bsbnetwork.com Mostly adults over 30 (well over in some cases!) with over 200 Day Z. We have a few fire teams set up with bases and camps, vehicles and what not set up accross several servers. Too much to put here!
  20. Basically on the server I play on a scripter/hacker came in and teleported all the vehicles to one spot, I know this because I spoke to other players and all the repaired vehicles are gone, upon server restart certain vehicles are back but the Civi Ural and the Pick-ups are gone from where they had been saved and are not at there spawn points. My question is this: Will the vehicles respawn at some point so that I can get back my beloved Pick-up?

    New Free UK server!

Sorry for the late reply, unfortunately we have no control over how many vehicles there are in game and their spawn locations.

    Vehicle Saving, doing it wrong?

I've lost a motorbike and an ATV. An old hatchback has worked correctly, though. So I guess yeah, vehicles still broken but tents working? EDIT: Logged in today after a server restart, the mentioned old hatchback has disappeared (it was empty of fuel) and my tent is gone. They still bugged? EDIT2: After a second server restart, my hatchback and old bike returned. I have no idea what's going on. PS. EVERY time the server restarts, my vehicles get emptied of fuel.
  24. And OT: Yes I spawned in the middle of the desert I was like feck this lol; maybe it would be better if there were WAY more vehicles than chernaurs
  25. But the man is a colossal pervert and a deviant to boot! I even seen him and heard call one male player in particular 'Sugar Tits'. A male player! that is just vile and wrong! You'd do well to stay away from his devastatingly effective sexual advances. The man's is a predator is of the worst and most evil kind. I hate him! yes I hate that! the small consolation is that his enormous genitalia forces him to drive the in game vehicles more erratically than any other player in Day Z. It's his one Achilles heel, having such a massive weapon of sexual destruction. God, I hate him so much! I knew it! he's never sent me one, the complete bastard! Have I told you how much I hate him? well I do. A lot.
