Vehicles should be tougher to total.

Shooting a car's hull shouldn't make the car blow up. They really need hit box detection in vehicles. Shoot the engine block, the engine turns red and stops running. Shoot the hull and your gets really, really ugly. (Your car shouldn't really provide much cover or protection except behind the engine block anyway.) I don't know if it would throw off the fun driving around in your car like a badass and then being killed when someone fires a volley of .45 rounds through your door. But it would be pretty funny.
  2. Since you're going on at length about using other game profiles and what not I'll just leave this here. Amazing how we killed a Jester that wasn't you, but you're the only Jester in my player database, you're also the only one with a current Hive record on the private hive we use. Sure to be more though soon enough. Far as adversaries, we'd love some, that whole deal on the North Hill was really cool til you and your friend combat logged because you knew you were pinned. I let it slide because even though I state I ban combat loggers, we have been trying to give people a break so people would take up residence on the server and...yanno, be legitimate adversaries. Base building is part of what the game is about, working together as survivors to defend whats ours. We actually recruited a guy that came to the factory and laid down his weapons because he saw there were more of us than there were of him. The move was a simple tactical call, and as stated I managed the entire thing, you were not on the server, not as Jester, not on a different game profile either cause...as the DB log there shows you haven't used one on 503. So the whole situation of you seeing the V3S and "one other vehicle" heading west completely falls flat. Especially since there were 5 total vehicles on that run, and none of them were traveling together. The final total vehicle count was two UAZ's, the SUV, one Hilux Truck (that you had not destroyed) and the V3S. Some went completely off road, none traveled together, there was no point where you would have "observed" the vehicles together as you stated and, also, as stated, you were not on the server during the move. Had you been tagged on the server with the same GUID with a different name you'd be right there in the database. Overall this entire argument is rather pointless. You can red text my statements if you like and say "thats not me, it wasn't me", but you've been on and off 503 for well over a week and we've given you plenty of opportunities to be a legitimate adversary. Ghosting on 525 to get in position on 503 is enough for me to call it quits in regards to giving you further opportunities. There are no AS50_TWS's on 503, DayZ Anti-Hax 0.7 actually parses for non-standard weapons and removes them. BTW, so whatever that guy's added to your post is hogwash. You should know as well as anyone that we only have TWO AS50's, one that was in the V3S you stole, and now the other that we removed from the van you left behind the base when you took the truck. And they're just plain AS50's, we have a few M107's though...don't use them, but someone brought them in from a chopper crash. Oh and truck inventory....yes there were things removed from it. 4 sets of NVG's that were stored on the truck were no longer on it. 4 sets of NVGs were in the tents on 525. Including quite a few other items that were incredibly similar to our previous stockpile at the factory. So if it wasn't you hauling the gear out, perhaps someone got in there and stole the NVGs and just happened to take them to the EXACT same spot you took the V3S to somewhere in the 30 minutes between me logging off and you logging on. Oh and that Exlie clan isn't us, btw. Not sure why you even linked those. Kwark was a problem causer we had on 401, video evidence wasn't enough apparently, just got a lot of "wasn't me, that wasn't us" from that too. Only place I screwed up was with the christian clan that hit us, but we thought they had teleported in because of a screwy read on positional data in the RPT files, because they started out attacking from the hill, then suddenly there were people in the factory too, they ghosted in, legitimate on the public hive, but doesn't mean I like it, and its part of the reason we went private.
  3. lol cool way to look for a clan I like it! Have some beans for your efforts! If you do fancy getting involved witha team or small groups then look no further than our community @ www.bsbnetwork.com We are The BSB Network. We do also have lots of Day Z players that play at various levels from casual to hardcore, we have several teams but also individuals that like to team up in small numbers. We also use our own Teamspeak server for comms, a couple of home servers, base camps, supplies, vehicles and considerable fire power for our community. We are well established as been playing games as a group for over 10 years and mostly all adults over the age of 18 (well over in most cases!). We have players based in the UK and Europe but also dedicated teams from accross the US and rest of the world. We have players on at all times of the day and night (check out TS server here to see for yourself here www.bsbnetwork.com/servers ) so the're always some one on to play with! Hope to see you in game soon!
  4. Unfortunately, placing a cartridge backwards into a magazine does nothing at all. The firing pin would strike the bullet itself, and wouldn't ignite the primer on the back of the round. But, most automatic rifles and really anything that takes a magazine would foul, as the bullet would not be able to fit into the breach like that. It would likely require a couple seconds for the player to figure that out and then drop the mag out, thus requiring them a few seconds of time to unjam the gun. Shooting tires is fun indeed, but what if you don't have a gun, and only a toolbox, or even just one set of wireclippers? Variety is the spice of life, death, and sabotage. I did suggest rigging explosives to objects, but you should always be able to find them with careful examination. Likely to miss them, if you're rushing into the vehicle, but they shouldn't be so hard to find everyone eschews vehicles for the prospect of NOT getting blown to smithereens. Indeed. There is a fine line between wanting to make a game that simulates an action, and one that tries too hard and makes itself unplayable. And so would I. A much more satisfying death than just gunning them down. Heh. I'm not sure how viable poisoning a pond would be. But it would be amusing. Water purification tablets would be a counter. And all of these would be the most amazing videos ever.
  5. I agree with them all except 2, which you can already do. Shooting tyres is great fun xD But number 4 could be expanded on by jamming a bullet in the wrong way or something, making it explode and knock out/injure the user as well as destroying the gun? Maybe put the suer in shock and lose 1500 or 2000 blood would be enough? The rigged explosives would be good in combined with tents and/or vehicles, so if you start a car it blows up, or you can see the bomb in the tent, but try to open the gear menu and it blows up. The tire iron could be in a toolbox. Very good ideas, I particularly like number 1, but the difference could be subtle in pictures of the items. Maybe a dent in a can of beans, red fading to gray at the bottom of a bloodbag (which could give someone illness - cured by antibiotics?).
  6. Wabid Wabit

    Private Hive Spawn Locations

Thank you for the reply s - I have found a Vehicle Script I will play with which I can determine where they spawn - I have to fool with it though because he added all kinds of vehicles and a big ass air carrier plane which is ridiculous - I would add the SUV and the Dirt Bike back and keep the rest legit Thanks again
  7. Quick idea about all these that do not have b***s and quit during firefight. Why not, instead of disappearing from server, your body would look like sleeping? An everybody could access it? You got me? You do not disappear from server when you press disconnect/when your game closes etc. You just go to sleep. That means you can't exit during firefight because somebody just will get to you and shoot you in the head. That would also mean, you can't disconnect in the middle of Cherno with 40 people around thinking "hey, I'm safe!" You have to hide somewhere! Just like you hide your vehicles thinking "I hope nobody will find it" Worthy of discussion or building other idea at last?
  8. 9. SmashT

    Empty/Disappeared Tents.

Sometimes on server restarts all tents/vehicles disappear, they usually return at the next restart. You'll often find empty tents because they have been found already. I always put some garbage loot in there too as it's less likely to be stolen.
  10. Bakst

Is it wrong to build up a camp?

I walk in the woods all the time mate. It's relatively safe there. I only come out when I need something :) I've even found stashed vehicles in the woods a few times. Usually when people come back to their super-secret camps and find them looted, they instantly assume it was caused by cheaters -- "how else could they have found our camp?!" -- but usually it's just enterprising hunters like us lol Btw, I fully agree with your signature re. the steaks vs blood bags :)
  11. I'm a player that never shoots first. I only shoot in self defense. I've only ever killed one person in all of DayZ. I either run away and hide, or die. My main goal In DayZ has been to explore and experience what this unique game has to offer. When I first started out, that meant getting nice gear and surviving: Blood bags, a sniper rifle, a coyote backpack, a ghillie suit, and Night Vision Goggles. But now, I have all those things. And I know how to survive for a long time. And it started to get boring. So my goal was to explore. I went to the mountain that shall not be named, the NW airfield, Cherno, Elektro, Stary Sobor. I looted and survived all of them. And while there are places that I haven't been yet, the novelty of looting through dangerous territory while not killing on sight and avoiding bandits is wearing thin. Even playing through Lingor an Takistan hasn't brought back the thrill of exploration (mainly because Lingor was full of graphical artifacts when I played. What's the point of having great gear and knowing how to survive if the life you lead is without purpose or adventure? How can we live meaningful lives if we have nothing worth striving and dying for? I really want to avoid the "end-game murder" syndrome, where once you have all you need, you start hunting people for sport. And I really want to have some of those amazing, iconic stories that we were all lured in here by (teaming with randoms, helping the helpless, being helped, watching people make interesting and crazy decisions when given freedom, examining the motives that drive different players, etc.). Most of all, I want stories to tell. So I'm trying to write a bucket list: A list of goals and things I want to do so DayZ has a compelling purpose again, quest ideas that will give me great stories to tell. My ideas are listed below. Please help me add to it by adding interesting suggestions. Bucket List: [uPDATED 9/25/12 ] 1. Fix up a helicopter and go searching for downed helicopters. 2. Find the highest mountain and bike down it. (This would be even cooler with a huge group of people on bicycles, all ringing their little bicycle bells). 3. Sing karaoke in Cherno / Elektro churches without dying. 4. Successfully hunt down a bandit that's killing innocents or fresh spawns. (Maybe better reworded as "Successfully hunt down player killers") 5. Get a Hero Skin. 6. Kill a hacker and live. 7. Start giving really nice weapons or gifts to fresh spawns, but intimidate them into not killing you once you try to run away. 8. Fix up cars and pick up strangers. 9. Be an impromptu medic to someone, then get to know them and become friends. 10. Play on Lingor and look for the massive wooden jumps. Get all sorts of vehicles and see how much air you can get. [submitted by sostronk] 11. Watch a sunset on top of the Cherno hotel, while standing, on a fully populated server, unarmed. [submitted by RaysGoodLiquor] 12. Attempt to activate the haunt on the radio tower on top of the mountain that shall not be named. (Go unarmed to the top of the tower at 'the place where we do not speak of' at night with no night vision. Drink a Mountain Dew, say the Hail Mary backwards and leave after leaving offerings of freshly slain goat. Also do this on a high pop server with direct chat enabled.) [submitted by Timboski] 13. Jump a motorcycle over a hovering helicopter. [submitted by smasht_AU] -- DON'T HIT IT. Bad things happen when you do. 14. Bike through Cherno while playing Brodyquest or something over Direct chat. Look for friends. [Adapted from a suggestion from DemonGroover: "If only you could run naked through the streets of Cherno."] 15. Dance Party: Everyone gets to play a single song of their choice over the direct chat, and the group just goofs off and rolls through Cherno / Elektro / Stary Sobor / Berezino, looting and looking for friendlies to grow the party. Once everyone has had a turn to play something over the chat, then cycle through and essentially just listen to fun music in a group out loud. [Adapted from a suggestion from DemonGroover: "If only you could run naked through the streets of Cherno."] 16. Find people and attach yourself to them like a lap dog. Do not speak except to say 'You are the most handsome person I have ever seen.' Stick to them like glue, never pick up a weapon, and if they bleed just stand and stare. Do not help them, just become their shadow. [submitted by Hetstaine] These are a few of my ideas and suggested ideas. What do you think? How do you avoid "end-game murder" syndrome? TL;DR: What are some cool quests I can embark on and experiences I can start seeking out that will produce great stories and keep me from going on a PVP end-game murder spree?
  12. The cFix are not scripting or spawning in anything. They are definitely not teleporting to recover stolen vehicles either. We got the SUV stolen last night and fly around in a chopper for 20 minutes looking for it before we gave up. The sandbags were dupped to create a parking lot to store the vehicles they find to trade them to other players for medical supplies, car parts, food, etc. They offer players pickups and rides for trading items. I don't see anything wrong with that. Cash, you, along with other players were kicked for having questionable gear. All bans were lifted because we realize now that some hackers came in and spawned a bunch of stuff, then put them in the back of a few vehicles. Because of this, we cannot determine whether or not the gear people have was found or spawned in. Therefore we only ban people for either being asshats, teleporting or mass killing the server. We suggest that all players report illegal items when they are found. The top 3 are AS50 TWS, Radio and Satchel charges.
  13. We (1HW) will be recruiting new players to both join as a community and as part of our team. We will have a private hive server PASSWORDED so no hackers or very very little as we have complete control of the server. Please dont ask for server config settings or anything yet as this will be discussed at a later date, if you want to become a part of our team or just a regular community player then get your asses over to www.1hw.co.uk and register your interest... http://1hw.co.uk/login/do/register PLEASE REGISTER ON THE FORUM WITH YOUR EXACT IN-GAME NAME!!! You can apply or register your interest (after registering on the website/forums) HERE.......http://1hw.co.uk/for...ost-here/page/1 when we run Fallujah and Takistan (NEW MAPS) it will be run with approx 80 yes EIGHTY Vehicles. This server will be passworded and is strictly INVITE only. We hope to build through time a regular community of people who have had enough of the hacking toss-pots in the public DayZ servers (we just closed ours for this reason) Make no mistake this server will be policed by more than a few Admins and logs and such will be picked at with a fine toothed comb to identify hackers and those people will be reported and banned with immediate effect and your details GUID etc posted on the public forums cheat report section. We also have our own Teamspeak that is Dedicated to the DayZ server so you can all use that too, to talk to your mates. I will grant each "group" a channel which you can password and call your own. Groups of people are preferred but single players will also be welcome. The server might not be FULLY operational for a few days but its being sorted as we speak. There can be no server hoppers since its a private hive, so if you secure an area its pretty much secure! The server will run 24/7 with frequent restarts. Also please note we have 5 maps which we can alternate between, at our leisure, these are Chernarus, Lingor, Utes, Takistan, and Fallujah We will not beg you for cash donations to the server, but at the same time wont refuse it. If we did get an impressive amount of people wanting to donate we could think about running servers simultaneously (with different maps) But that's too far away ATM to think about too seriously, but worth mentioning at the same time. If i can think of anything else to add i shall edit this post in the coming hours/dayZ :P Regards, Boxter / Colin (*1HW* Team Captain)
  14. Hello fellow survivors, The guys in our squad are fed up with hackers destroying our servers, we, like the rest of you enjoy the fear of being killed by bandits, the excitement of having repaired a vehicle and raiding chernarus for all it's worth! We have decided to lock down our private hive server, have it reset so that everything is back to square one and to keep it passworded ensuring a fair experience for all players. We have, as of today, reset the hive, implemented the community fixes that work, like auto saving tents/vehicles to stop duping, helicopter crash site smoke and fuel saving after restarts amongst others. We extend an invitation over the DayZ official forums to players who are sick of duping and cheaters. We welcome squads, Bandits or Heroes to come and play as it was intended by Rocket. Our server runs the bliss hive and has the more popular Veteran setting running. I have reason to believe that two helicopters spawn on this hive, including new areas for vehicles. It also includes the latest battleye scripts and Antihax 0.5. We would appreciate having more players on the server, as a passworded server, getting all vehicles and raiding towns is boring without a challenge. Would people from the UK and Europe be interested in helping make our server a hacker free and busy server? At the moment it is only a 30 slot server, but if interest grows this could be increased we are just fed up with one cheater coming into the server, teleporting all the vehicles and wrecking our server (Within 6 hours of it being online!). Let me know what you think everyone, thanks! For more information here is what our server offers : DayZ - UK666 (v1.7.2.6/build 96896) [Veteran|3DP:ON|CH:OFF] [GMT-4] Only The Brave Survive | Anti Hax 0.5 | Private Hive Bliss Hive/server files used hosted on 3+ Ghz Quadcore Xeon powered Dell hardware for superb stability and lag free gameplay Connected to a multiple 10Gb link network to Tier 1 providers and Linx presence Regular server Restarts which are quick and painless Updates are implemented as soon as available including patches Hive is automatically backed up Fast load times Increased vehicle spawns and locations 24/7 Up time Antihax 0.5 Passworded server for sure hacker free play 30 slots (may be increased traffic dependant) All play styles welcome (Squads, lone-wolfs and banditry) Fuel saves after restart Duping not possible due to automatic saving when inventory closed The only rule is don't cheat/hack Hive 24 hours old, much freshness!
  15. Hi, I run US 503. My MOTD says we don't answer to anyone, especially you. But I'm a nice guy so I'll give you an answer. As the poster above you indicates, I banned you for usage of DayZ Navigator. You did not at any time "observe" us moving the V3S west on the 24th, and I can state why. First, some backstory: On the 22nd you and one other individual attacked the Factory from the North Hill, you didn't kill anyone, and once fire was being returned and there were defenders moving up the hill to engage you at closer range while over watch positions had you pinned down, both of you combat logged within 20 seconds of each other. I'm not going to drag your friends name into this but I was there and I watched the entire thing go down...I let it slide...once, cause I figured, alright these guys have been playing on the server and I'll give them a chance. On the day of the 23rd the server appeared to be down due to a node error, it had no activity at all that day except me and it took me a lot of work arounds to even get to the lobby, once we got the node issue sorted out the server was back up. On the morning of the 24th, you waited until members of the server known to you as the survival group at the factory were not on the server. You joined the server at 05:56AM, after going through the tents and grabbing some grenades and an M249 and several ammo belts, you then began to destroy vehicles in the base including 1 civilian Ural, and a White Hilux truck. Fair game, no problem, you were attempting to destroy a third vehicle when you were legally killed by Epo, a member of Exile. After your player_death event, the log data shows you disconnecting at 06:07AM. After the event at 10:32AM I logged in and was appraised of the situation. I decided at that time due to the material loss we'd taken, that it was time to move elsewhere. The original plan was to move the two UAZ we had left and the SUV (which is a legal spawn on Bliss Hive btw) to a new location. One of our members down on the coast came across the V3S while we were in the process of emptying our tents and packing, so we picked that up. Now heres where the hole in your story begins. We had the V3S and had our move completed before 4:00PM Server time, there was only one unknown on the server during the move, it was not you or your friend. The entire move was completed by 14:00 hours...and you might notice...right here...that your connections on the 24th show you on the server at 05:56, disconnecting at 06:07 after being shot dead, and then...your next log entry on the server shows you logging in at 16:41(4:41PM), long after the move had been completed. Simple facts are, you couldn't have seen a V3S because we didn't have a V3S at the factory when we killed you, and you didn't know we had one because you weren't on the server the whole day after you were killed while attempting to take down our entire vehicle base. The timestamps are right there. You couldn't have "seen" the V3S moving west because you WERE NOT THERE when the V3S was moving west. Nobody witnessed the V3S moving anywhere. As the only other hostile on the server had logged off and it was just our usual group by the time we passed through Novy Sobor with said V3S. So...stands to reason theres only one way you could have known we had a V3S and that we took it west and I've already explained what that reason was. Now heres a fun fact. Later that night, you turn up in Vybor at 0111, as the log shows, you were spotted there by someone we had up there on salvage duty, we immediately sent out a foot team to pen you in and put you down, I personally wasn't sure why you'd ended up in Vybor at all, you'd been on the server on and off since being killed at the Factory, maybe you'd already gone back to the factory and figured out we'd moved by then...who knows, but for some reason you're in Vybor, We sent in 5 people to take you down, and just as we're closing in on your position, you log out. Could be coincidence, so I let that one go. I found it odd that you all seemed to have followed us to the west side of a very large map but hey, things happen right? Anyways, I was up til 05:00 on the 25th, I did a server restart at 05:00 approximately because the server had been up for 24 hours, I checked our defenses, saved all our stuff and logged off, figuring that one of our euro time scale players would log on soon enough and all will be well. You log on at 05:32 approximately 30 minutes after I went to bed, potentially having noticed the server is empty. And make your way down from Vybor to the Putoshka base, and if you took down that southern set of defenses in a "minute" I'm impressed, I used the last of my cat wire and tank traps buttoning up that position as best I could (we only had 20 or so of each left) and that portion had at least 8 sets of cat wire down and 6 tank traps...but hey, you're a skilled guy obviously. I should also mention that you made the run from Vybor in a S1203 Van, got into the base, got the V3S out and parked it 7 klicks north of its position at base, as far north on the map as you could go without it going out of bounds, all in just over 30 minutes....obviously you're a very skilled guy. And you come inside the warehouse there, and take a V3S you couldn't have possibly known we had, in fact, couldn't have possibly known any of the vehicles were there at all because they were inside the warehouse and not on open view....yes there was a bus out there, yes there was a tractor outside the walls. But for some reason, you were very sure, obviously, according to your own original account in the first post, there was a V3S that you couldn't have possibly ever seen inside that warehouse. (christ we didn't even know it had spawned, Bliss Hive 6 had a bug where the V3S wouldn't spawn at all, we'd only update to Bliss Hive 7 that morning which fixed the V3S spawn and it turned up in the usual place.) And "being a cool guy" you only stole the V3S, cause I guess destroying the Ural the day before had tired you out and made you feel dirty inside. And you carted the V3S to 022001, how did we find it? Well I'll tell you how, we spent all day driving around looking for it cause it still had most of our critical supplies on it. We'd been cycling loot spawns in Putoshka and Vybor for tents most of the previous evening and only came up with 10 of them in a whole overnight process of attempting to build back up from losing our storage at the factory. Finally around 1500 CST, after driving as far north on the western highway as a our search team could, they turned around to head back and one of them spotted the V3S up in the trees. Now heres where things get more fun. At 16:41 on the 25th you log in at 022001, just as you said, to find the V3S gone. You immediately log out and go to US 525...why is that? Oh well I think we know why. To check your camp that you were going to ghost all our gear over to, 525 being on the same shared private hive and all that. Notice the timestamps afterwards. You log back on to 525 for 3 minutes starting at 19:33. You then log into 503 at 19:37 stay for three minutes and log out. You then log in to US 525 at 19:41 and spend 14 minutes on US 525 doing...who knows what, probably running like crazy to Putoshka, but you must have been pretty fast to come from 022001 in 14 minutes, but hell I'll even give you that (we checked quite extensively for vehicles in Putoshka on 525, but hey maybe there was a car hidden way out in the trees..who knows.), even though it completely debunks your story about how you actually made your way down to Putoshka while on 503 and that touching little statement about having to log off to do something with your daughter...but the timestamps don't seem to agree with your heroic retelling of your skillfull and valiant attack on a bunch of evil clan members. You then log in to 503 at 19:57 and spend a little time getting into position. I happen to be on the server at the time, Bloodwraith is up on the oil tank doing overwatch and notices some odd zombie activity to the south, so I flank south west and see that its you, back to the scene of the crime and shooting at people. Bloodwraith did combat log and I had a long talk with him about it afterwards...cause lord knows I've died to enough hackers in the last several months that I figured he could at least take a bullet. But after weighing all the stuff in my head, about how you combat logged on us on the 22nd, how you were stalking our camps when nobody was around and how you miraculously just seemed to know that a vehicle you couldn't have ever seen us with because you weren't ever on the server at the times that we had it after we killed you at the factory, had moved 8 klicks across the map to an entirely different location....instead of pulling my guns trigger, I pulled the ban trigger. Now here are my reasons 1.) You are using DayZ Navigator, the only way you could have spotted a V3S where it was was by doing so, you were never on the server, as the hive log shows, during the time the V3S was mobile, so you did not "spot" it moving west. You knew exactly where the camp was, out of ANYWHERE else we could have gone, less than 12 hours after we'd picked up and moved. 2.) You had combat logged on us previously when we had the amount of people to deal with you, and only returned to our camps when there was very little chance of you meeting any resistance. 3.) You were ghosting between US 503 and US 525 and one of the reasons we went to a private hive was to get away from ghosting jackasses that won't fight fair. You ghosted from 022001 on 525, to position south of Putoshka and then logged to 503 to get a "better vantage". Thats why I banned you. Those are my reasons, that is my evidence. And to be honest I don't have to defend my decisions cause....well I don't, but I'm defending them nonetheless. Bloodwraith, though, for your information, is not a member of Exile, he is a member of a clan called Saints. And he has no administrative access to the 503 server. So...he didn't ban you for shooting him. I banned you because I was getting tired of your "ha ha I'm a squirrely bastard" crap and after you'd found our new camp so fast I knew for sure you weren't playing straight. BTW, sorry about your stockpile of stuff on 525. Just so happens that we did a little elementary logic and figured that if you'd parked our V3S at 022001 on our server, there must have been a reason for you continually logging over to 525, there must have been a reason for it, and sure enough there was. Thankfully we retrieved several of the high value items you'd stolen from us, which I was happy you'd taken the time to store them because they're pretty rare spawns and all, and even working the airfield and all the best we've come up with for those NVG's is 4 sets so far. Lot of our people are running around blind at night and as you might have noticed when you were vulturing through our supplies we only had a few L85's and definitely not enough NV Goggles to go around. So...yeah, a guy that plays with us that isn't in Exile did combat log on you, and yeah, I banned you, cause to be frank I'm tired of not getting a straight fight out of anyone at this game. Anyways we're moving the base again when I decide to bring the server back up. It'll be on the Cherno docks, right there in the warehouse, until people like you and DayZ Navigator are no longer a factor, there is no point in trying to "survive" anywhere. So we might as well be right down on the coast so we can kill you people as you come in the door, rather than what we have been doing for the last month, which was staying north of the major towns and the coast and doing our best to try to let the server population grow naturally. Anyways, take care. Its my server and its my rules and it was my call that you're a gutless map hack using ghoster, and I don't have to put up with people like you on my server. So I didn't. Cya. Edited to add a copy of your original post in case you edit it to try to change your story around, champ.
  16. enlighten me! can you give us some info on rmod? *edit* checked your link for rmod, essentially it is doing what hackers do with scripts except on the server-side and without scripts. have you gotten this to work to add extra vehicles without spawning them in by editing the database? for instance, with this mod enabled can you just add the vehicles to the spawn tables and vehicles.pl to naturally spawn like the rest of them?
  17. When the server first started 2 1/2 months ago we had plenty of vehicles. Now, nothing. From what I have been reading this morning it seems the only solution seems to be to request a new instance ID from BIS, which resets everything.
  18. Check the .RPT file when you shut down your server. Search for "streaming" and it should show you a list of IDs for static objects (tents, barbed wire, etc.) and all the vehicles which are currently on your server (not counting the currently destroyed ones). If there aren't any vehicles there, you might have a problem. Has the server always been on .6? We started out on .5 with quite some vehicles after a week or so (which obviously kept respawning at their spawn point after a restart), but now on .6 everything is working quite fine (except for the respawning of destroyed vehicles).

    Looking to team up

Look no further than our community @ www.bsbnetwork.com We are The BSB Network. we have lots of Day Z players that play at various levels from casual to hardcore, we have several teams that dont mind taking new people on, regular events and tournaments, our own Teamspeak server for comms, a couple of home servers, base camps, supplies, vehicles and considerable fire power for our community. We are well established as been playing games as a group for over 10 years and mostly all adults over the age of 18 (well over in most cases!). We have plaeyrs based in the UK and Europe but also dedicated teams from accross the US and rest of the world. We have players on at all times of the day and night (check out TS server here to see for yourself here www.bsbnetwork.com/servers ) so the're always some one on to play with! Hope to see you in game soon!
  20. Inception.

    Loot respawn & spawn timers

You have to be at least 30 meters away and within 200 meters for it to spawn. EDIT: Sorry, I may have misled you. This applies to vehicles, but as Kenobi said below, as long as you enter the 200m radius on foot the loot will spawn.

Question about the new Fallujah map

Fallujah has become my favourite map of them all! If you think that there aren't a lot of loot spots, you simply have not done enough exploring. I have only been playing Fallujah for 2 sessions now, and I have so far found about 30 barracks, multiple groupings of up to and over 9 apartment buildings together, and more grocery stores and many times more hospitals than Chernarus. There is an industrial area about 2kmx2km wide that has like 10 construction sites and about the same amount of high value industrials, not to mention the number and assortment of air and land vehicles to choose from. There is loot literally everywhere, it seems (from who I have talked to) that a lot of people just give up once they reach the edge of the city. Once you get your hands on an in-game map, you should see clearly how Fallujah is superior to Lingor, Takistan etc loot-wise.
