  1. There seems to be some bugs with respawns right now. I have witnessed players respawning right next to their dead bodies after being killed (not on the coast) and destroyed vehicles respawning right where they were wrecked. Zombie spawns are also somewhat bugged right now as well. At spawn points you will see them flash as though to spawn, but then they just disappear and never fully materialize.
  2. Welcome to Day-Z again. Last 1 week on our server all vehicles got teleported into cherno 5 times. We got killed by hackers 6 times. 3 times we got weapon crates on the server. etc etc etc I think this game is now totaly destroyed by hackers. Trying every day to anti script many cheats with other guys from some forums but its not winable against this hacking flood. I stoped playing and won't keep my server longer online. It's waste of time and money and i'm moving to War-Z
  3. Server now private : Password = "Welcome123". Some people may know of this server, been running since early Alpha (Chern, Lingor, Takistan). We (JAG) installed Takistan 1.2 MOD a few days ago and allot of people seem to like it (full server when it`s public, but with all the cheating..). Veteran mode : - Map = ON - Waypoints = ON - Crosshair = ON - 3rd Person = ON - Max vehicles enabled = 80. Server now private : Password = "Welcome123".
  4. Hi. Yesterday me and my friend found and repaired two vehicles - bus and PBX boat. We have hidden them in north above Berezino. Boat is near a big ship crash, bus - near boat in wood. What could be the reason of 2 vehicles dissapearance except someone stole them both in a short period of time? If server admin see this topic could you be so kind and check server logs? Thanks in advance.

Well, if we will be using custom scripts, BattlEye needs to be turned off, but that wouldnt be a big loss and we all know it ;) IMO, the most important hacks that need to be prevented or at least detected are 1. Teleport Hacks a ) Players teleporting -> Onscreen Message and optional instant kick/ban (needs to ignore "teleports" due to death though) b ) Vehicles gettings teleported -> Onscreen Message and optional teleportion back to their last saved position OR admin script to manually reset ALL vehicles to their last saved position in database 2. Summon Hacks a ) Players getting high end stuff too fast (dont know how to detect that) -> Onscreen Message and optional kick/ban b ) Vehicles getting summoned -> Onscreen Message and instant deletion of that vehicle 3. Invulnerability Hacks a ) Players not loosing health when being shot or regaining health too fast -> Onscreen Message and optional kick/ban Just my first thoughts...
  6. When you flip an ATV onto its side and can't do anything about putting it back onto its wheels - ATVs are not THAT heavy. Being unable to give yourself a blood transfusion, at any stage of blood loss. Amazing player/zombie running stamina. Even if we want to ignore the issue of player stamina, these zombies are like marathon runners - why isn't there some percentage chance (even if it's very small) to have a zombie's limb fall off from running? It doesn't always have to be a leg, it could even be an arm - rotting corpses should be somewhat more fragile/flimsier than your average healthy, living survivor's body. Being capable of repairing any vehicle, without any technical expertise at all. Hear me out on that last point I just made: whilst I know the current system is the way it is to allow everyone the opportunity to commandeer a salvaged vehicle, I feel it ruins the "realism" element of DayZ - which is what this thread is focusing on (as opposed to whether DayZ is "just a game" or "a simulation" - there's already a thread for that conversation). To me, it's unrealistic to believe that everyone who "survived" the beginning of the zombie apocalypse automatically knows how to repair any vehicle they stumbles across, from a small motorbike and ATV all the way to a helicopter. It would have been nice if there was a process of perhaps trial and error that allowed you to 'hone' the skill of repairing vehicles - you can go and obtain the parts, but the installation process initially could either fail or be partially successful but your novice repair job could result in unexpected malfunction/break-down, requiring you to once again repair the vehicle and thus "learning" over time how to repair vehicles properly and more effectively. Of course, that introduces its own problems, considering the average life expectancy of a typical survivor is under an hour, but since we're already dealing with one fundamentally unrealistic element of the game (which is your character "re-spawning"), perhaps allowing your "learned" repair ability to carry over to your next life wouldn't be out of the question - the difficulty and length of time it takes to successfully learn how to do a high quality repair job on a vehicle could be increased so that the task of trouble-free vehicle repairing doesn't become such a "non-issue" so quickly. I know that my last point could be said for the majority of things currently in the game that actually require technical skill, such as firing most of the weapons in game or certainly being able to fly a helicopter - but those things, I feel, are actually learned over time by the player. For example, not everyone who picks up an AS50 knows how to snipe with it effectively and not everyone who pilots a helicopter does so successfully on their first attempt - some crash and burn horribly in the first few moments of lift-off. People practice with repetition with those things and get better and more effective at it over time. I just don't see any of that happening with something like repairing vehicles, which should be complicated.

    To be honest I only play on veteran servers (no crosshair, no 3rd person, and no hover over info) As long as they have veteran servers with these things I would be okey with other people playing on servers that makes it easier for them :) There are a few things that makes 3rd person kinda silly. (Not mention by the OP) 1. You can run around alot without bothering with the painkillers, in 3rd person you can do alot while still "shaking" cause you are not shaking. (silly in my opinion) 2. Driving vehicles becomes too easy and you don`t bump around when driving offroad, Servers with only 1st person people will always prefer roads, making them more realistic. But as I said. Give people "easy game" servers so we can weed out those guys on the servers I play on :)
  8. So what kind of scripts do we want in order to keep the skiddies out? Post your suggestions and I'll see what we can do. There are a few things I need to mention first: I do not know anything about BattleEyes script detection system so I don't know if running these scripts may get everyone kicked because BattleEye thinks we are cheating... I do not know how to use server side commands in scripts (kick, ban etc). They appear to be part of a separate script system somehow, and of course, they need to be run from the sever, not the client. I'm not sure if its possible to create "reset scripts" that returns players/vehicles to original positions when teleported, could be possible to extract the info from the database?. It is possible to teleport them to new positions on the map though. But in any case these scripts would have to be run by an admin/player on the server, effectively making the admin a script cheater and possibly drawing battleeyes attention. And to be honest I don't know how the cheaters execute their scripts so I can't write such a script right now :) What I have done already is write a simple serverside script that regularly checks what weapon every player has. If they have a weapon that's not in DayZ the weapon is removed and a quite obvious message is put out, informing everyone on the server what they are doing. This should at least stop scripters from conjuring up new weapons and allow an admin to ban them. It can't stop them from cheating in DayZ allowed weapons though... This is also highly dependant on being updated to actually cover all allowed weapons in DayZ, in case of updates and stuff. I am not even entirely sure it covers all weapons in DayZ right now, it's kind of difficult to check. I can of course do more than just remove their weapon, but in case someone spawns an ammo box and someone else unknowingly picks up a banned weapon I dont want them to be punished too hard. Also, this script is not MP or DayZ tested yet, I just know that it works in SP and _should_ work in MP as well, but with join in progress and ArmAIIs general unfriendliness towards MP testing is required. There was also talk of kicking people who have a sniper rifle but no zombie kills. While it is generally true that getting an AS50 is hard without killing zombies first, it is still possible, so I don't recommend stuff like that. But we can discuss it.

    C130 Spawn Point.

    I don't think this C130 idea is particularly usable, nor do I believe that you should have a choice of spawn (Only because of how easy it would be to loot your body if you could, which goes against the idea of losing everything when you die), but spreading the spawn locations across the map, as the OP suggests, is something that could improve the game significantly. Perhaps it would be simpler to add a large number of spawn points along the entire border of the map, as well as the less populated areas within it. This would reduce the ability of end-game players to kill large numbers of fresh spawns by reducing their density. This would also reduce hoarding of limited vehicles (as people placing all their gear in tents, so that they can retrieve it all later if they die) in areas that are currently unvisited. The current distribution of loot across the map may also be an issue, but that problem should be solved with the changed map that the devs are apparently working on.

I'm just wondering why dev team is not doing anything about cheats? in past week i have seen more cheater than before. i see people teleporting around they have player shield that kills everyone around them they have god mode they can teleport other players (they teleport everyone in sky and they drop dead, whole server) they also teleport vehicles sometimes all vehicles get teleported into same location and then they blow them up they can kill everyone on whole map with some nuke ive seen those medical boxes full of supplies and weapons (every item in arma 2 i think) and then one day i saw a damn aircraft carrier on lingor island, near the bridge !!! now that is NOT in the game, someone put it there somehow. WTF????? vehicle spawns, weapon spawns ...etc ..etc ..etc ... etc WHY are such hacks still undetectable? even if they get globally banned after a while, what is the fucking point in that?? they keep on coming until you patch the damn things. i keep losing my gear to those idiots every day! i sit in a building and then some moron teleports next to me with player shiled on and i die. or some moron teleports all the players into one place, high in the air and we all drop dead. obviously they do it off the playable area so you cant go back and even loot. takes me weeks to gear up properly and then this happens...all the fucking time. when can we expect you to PATCH these hacks? i mean god mode? really?? REALLY??? even 10 year old games don't have health client sided. you need to make a damn server side check for such things, fuck that battleye, its useless junk. just patch such things with a server side check. now finally i have to say, i got myself a cheat myself because this is getting on my damn nerves. what i have is the 3d radar hacks so i can see where players and vehicles are, but thats it. it annoys the shit out of me that i have to loot for good stuff for weeks and then i die cuz of such iditos. with this radar i can find heli crash sites fast and check that there are no players around to take me out. HOWEVER why i said i have radar is that i see players teleporting around, teleporting vehicles and spawning vehicles all the time. i can clearly see how player stands still and then POP and he has like 10 vehicles around him. every damn server is full of these people, thats why in some servers you see no vehicles at all. they go into one remote place and then teleport all vehicles there, so noone can use them. for past week (this is how long ive had radar) ive seen such things in every server. not all of these people kill people, but every server has them and they destroy vehciles. specially helicopters. Will these hacks stay out there forever to ruin the game for everyone or will dayz dev team actually patch them using some server side check? again, battleye is useless and delayed bans are useless, since there are over million players and it will take years to ban all cheaters, they wont appear at same time. they get banned but they keep on coming. results = game is unplayable. this needs instant solution that wont even allow any of this to happen. not instant ban, but instant patch that just wotn allow teleporting or spawning of vehicles..etc

    I'm pretty sure the colour of the car is random. Unless the car is taken and destroyed, the car will respawn after 7 days. One UAZ spawns per server.     Server restarted everything gone, !?

    Three full restarts later and my server is blank (no tents or vehicles). I suspect there is a Hive issue with mine, not sure if anyone else is having this problem.

  14. Please, Chris can you enhance this statement with some proof/details (names, locations, what happened, etc.) as it would help Byr immensely. Just checked online. My vehicle, at the time of this post, was still there, thank god. I did notice a player was on the server who I am sure Jimmies had banned earlier, after the first hacking incident (the vehicles being teleported west of Kamenka).I could be wrong though and maybe he was just kicked at the time. I for one also vote for the return of the server password. BattlEye, on it's own right now, is too ineffective. Although i noticed, whilst playing, it was going into overdrive kicking players from the server, for all sorts of reasons, it was still not enough to let slip through at one scumbag skiddie, who proceeded as usual to ruin everyone's enjoyment of the game.

    As a lone wolf I don't care how many vehicles clans take, as long as they leave the bicycles. Anything else is pinning a target on you so I don't touch them.
  16. Server: US 3109 Date/time: September 15, 2012 sometime between 10:00pm - 11:00pm Arizona Mountain Time I was playing with two friends and we were heading to the factory at 114 078. As we were close to the entrance grenades and satchel charges started detonating, so we retreated west. While running away we were attacked by at least two other players, knocking me unconscious instantly. One of the attackers was spotted and killed by my friends quickly, the other was hit multiple times by MK 48 and AS 50 fire yet he was able to kill the three of us. I respawned in Elektrozavodsk and found most of the buildings in the center of the city had been reduced to rubble. On a hill at approximately 105 128 there were two buses, a van, a rolled truck, a tractor, and a destroyed helicopter. Some of the vehicles were loaded with tons of gear, such as a ghillie suit, weapons, medical supplies, car parts, and food. I took some of the gear and one of the buses and headed back to the hill where I was killed to retrieve my gear. During this time the server population changed from 8-10 to 4.

    The most I've ever had at one time was about 6 tents, a pickup truck, a UAZ, and an ATV. If someone found our camp, they might call us hoarders, but all of those vehicles were being used. As long as your collection of cars (hoarding gear is irrelevant, since it spawns infinitely) is proportional to how many members you have, I'm fine with it. If it reaches the point where your group has only 5 members but you have hidden 14 cars, you are simply preventing other players from enjoying them.
  19. Byrgesen, we got hacked twice yesterday. The first time, all vehicles were teleported west of Kaminka and it took us almost an afternoon to get some of them back and destroying the unowned ones. Second time must have happened during the night or early this morning, cause my truck is gone again and it was hidden very well. Seems like BattlEye still isnt helping shit against some annoying scripts so I vote for reenabling a password to keep out hackers visiting servers by random. DuggeDank und Ripper have offered to help us create some custom anti-hacker scripts and what they were saying sounded awesome and still simple enough to me. Could you please delete all destroyed vehicles and the ones without any inventory in it, so new ones can spawn?

    1.7.2.6 Helicopter spawn behavior

    I've encountered a few bugs. One of my group lent our chopper to someone who failed at flying and managed to blow it up. Found it later respawned fully repaired where it crashed. It does save location though now. Always respawns fully repaired after server restart as do many of our vehicles. I assume it's a bug in the current patche. Spawning without fuel is annoying every restart but not as bad as respawned at the island all the time last patch.

    Buying a server?

    You should buy a package server, they allow you to set the number of vehicles which spawn. As far as normal DayZ, yes, the instance id ranges being used have vehicles.

    I play lonewolf so I've only put up a tent once and I've been playing about 20 weeks on or off, hoarders dont bother me infact their hoarding has saved me a few times coming across their tents when i needed medical supplies or food....... Ya i think if vehicles are not used in 24 hours they get wiped, setting up camp off map it will be wiped on restart. The northern winds will just blow them away...

    DayZ Clan?

    My brother and i are a couple of the smartest and most experienced players in DayZ and might be interested in this. We had a small team a few months ago that had all of the qualities you listed. We ended up accumulating 7 vehicles, 4 tents full of the highest military grade weapons and other loot, and had LOADS of fun with it. We are both patient, 16 and 18 years old from Florida, and honestly believe it is more fun to have a clan to associate yourself with in a game like this. My skype name is Allstargun, add me if you would like! Right now it is just me and him but we are carrying some of the rarest things in the game. We also have a camp.

    Trading for a Bicycle

    Its difficult to trade vehicles seeing as they are tied to the server in which they are found. What server region do you play on?
