    How does vehicle saving work?

    Objects (Tents, cat wire, hedgehogs, bear traps, vehicles, etc.) are saved to a particular server. Those items will not follow you cross-server no matter what. Your character, however, does follow you throughout the same hive (If you play on a public hive server, you'll persist with that character through all other public hive servers) Therefore once you establish yourself on a particular server (vehicle/tent) you will want to generally stay there. No servers (public or private) share their objects between one another. Vehicles/tents/etc never move servers.

  3. PFFFFFFTTTT fuck you DEVELOPER. I do this crap for a living, as an admin, I manage the server hardware and software PROVIDED to me by people who declare themselves "DEVELOPER". Its not my fucking job to toil endlessly to reverse the ill effect of a system that is flawed at a fundamental SOFTWARE level. But thanks for your useless input anyways, I'm sure all the victims of teleporting and piled up vehicles appreciate your little torch.

    I've got about six vehicles laying around on my low ping public hive server, PST with offer.
  5. Give it categories such as weapon suggestions, game features, vehicles, general suggestions etc This way less chance of same thing being posted over and over again and easier to organise (assuming devs actually bother with suggestions as much as they should. Just cynical on this.)
  6. I would say join SurviveDayZ with its mod but it has more weapons (harder to find), 72 vehicles, and has anti-alt+f4 and other features

    No vehicles, except on a private Lingor server. What about just a GPS? Or just NVG's or Rangefinder? I don't have a DMR, but I do have M107 and M4A3.
  9. I was globally banned, there is nothing that can change that, however I want to ask the community if they think I deserved it. I was on DE369 (I think) and suddenly I was ported over the sea and died, no biggy spent the rest of the day looking for new stuff and I find myself a ATV and spent hours reparing it (It was in the middle of nowhere) once done I hid it and logged off. The next day I log on, hop on the ATV and start on my way to stary for some tent rifling and some banditry. Half way there I suddenly lag and appear in the middle of a clearing and immediatly crash into a bus, all the vehicles had been ported to this location and the hacker opened up on me, I hid and tried using my map to plot my location (using markers to work out where I was in relation to cities) and pop the entire server was over the sea again. I went mental and decided that the best way to get my damn ATV back was to use a map hack. I looked one up and how to use it booted it up and started DAYZ but while it was loading I started to calm and by the time I hit the lobby I had second thoughts, the Irony was that the thought I had was "I dont want to be banned I have found vehicles before I can again" and closed DAYZ, stopped the hack, deleted it and started DAYZ again and played normally. When I got home from a weekend trip I tried to start DAYZ and got Global Ban 634B (I think) Do you think I don't deserve this ban or do you consider this fair?
  10. I game with silenus and I'm quitting with him. I have been playing this game for months, and for the past two weeks all I have wanted was one good firefight...it's basically impossible to get anymore. I was walking with another friend when I instantly died to some guy 'setdamaging' me (we checked the logs to confirm this, no bullet sound...just dead). Invulnerable teleporting ax murdering guys, hacked choppers and thermal weapons/snipers/NVGs, teleporting all the vehicles to the middle of cherno... I love this fuckin' 'game'. And I can't stand wasting hours playing legit just to get fucked again. Hackers/scripters EVERY night the last two weeks. It boggles the mind. So, farewell DayZ. Catch ya on the flipside.
  11. Both Lingor server are running stable. Just come and play. 95% of the vehicles are still unclaimed.
  12. +1 for the dumb nameplates.Point somewhere and you see something even through a hill.easy for spotting vehicles and players. On the other hand,loving the server.alive for about 5 days.found bunch of vehicles,helies,crashed choppers,met bunch of friendlies and met up.
  13. make the 12.7mm capable of destroying any component it hits in 1 shot have rifle rounds do the same as the 12.7mm but in more shots (a 7.62mm burst through the radiator and what ever else it ricochets into in the engine bay would kill the engine, maybe not instantly but before long you would come to a grinding halt) have any gun able to destroy the tires have shots to the car body kill the passengers but not detonate the car I think the bigger issue is the impact damage of driving your 4 wheel drive truck into a rock half the size of a basketball cripples its axle although I think a simple skin change would fix this, have it say "made in china" on the side so people know that vehicles wall fall apart on anything other then a level road
  14. I had the same issue with my public server. I was setup with a new instance Id which seemed to fix the issue. However, I am still having one problem...tents are empty after a server restart, even though they had gear in them and were saved prior to the restart. This issue is limited to tents only, vehicles save their state and gear correctly. Any ideas on how to resolve this one? Many thanks!

No single project is the work of one person, look at what the community has done in the last few weeks, stopping hackers, more vehicles and weapons, modified servers and even on the suggestions board there is a guy who have come up with a mod for lighting the streets and buildings on a night. Rocket can't do it all himself and should not be expected to. He did DayZ all by himself with help from the community. For his insight and kindness we all get to play the mod. Now he is working on ths SA, this will take time and anything he can't do I'm sure he will ask those who know. Those who know how to implement ideas within the engine and requirements of the final product. No idea is original, I'm a modder, I wouldn't mind if I helped out someone when they asked or brought something new to the fore. It's how new games are created. One idea here, one there, put together and sometimes you make something great.
  17. Should not be outside the map. There's a weird thing we need to fix with the DayZ Map Tool which will show vehicles outside of the map area. These are actually not vehicles just a duplicate of the real map. Hope that makes some sense. Just focus on the real map :) Instance ID is in your server name (also in server.cfg "Configuration Editor" for Bliss/server.cfg as stated below) - in your server name as US XXXX (where XXXX is your instance ID) Login to DayZTools? Shoot us a support ticket, I'll get you setup. Yes, the username might be different from your TC Admin user. Support ticket if you are having trouble :) Should be up today, we're getting through a lot right now :)
  18. Oh boy.. You do realize that rocket launchers are extremely heavy, that due to the nature of the ammunition you can carry maybe 2-3 shots. That a single shot will explode, only killing zeds in a small area while attracting at least 10x more zeds in the process because it makes a ridiculously high explosion. Let's not forget it means you can't really hold anything else on you and that it's also not practical against vehicles ingame. A few bullets at the right spot is more than enough to take out the average vehicle and those and the gun are easier to wear and a lot more practical to use against zeds and survivors. Those launchers were pretty much made to counter heavy armor/vehicles and airborne targets. And expect for the odd helicopter you wont be seeing those, so unless you go hunting for helicopters which is kind of a weird fetish they don't seem useful in zombie survival situations.

    Full Map Reset?

    We need to do a full map reset on our server because there are tons of vehicles that have been teleported and even after restart they stay there (boat in Stary) plus loads of tents with hacked weapons. Is there a way we can do a full map reset and start on a fresh new map? If so, reply to this thread or email me at [email protected] Thanks

    TRADE: Working Helicopter for all my stuff

    For a chopper you should have at the very least 2 vehicles to trade. Any player with a chopper would normally have everything you mentioned and more..

    Yes the max ping is set to 175. Again the vehicles are just to test. I figure 75 vehicles is plenty to go around but we will see.

  23. Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have over 200 players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved.     that depends if it is a private hive or not I guess, because our host fixed that for us. If it doesn't work try this: Put amount of vehicles to zero. Restart. Put the amount of vehicles to what you want. Please let me know if this worked.

My ideas for making cooperation more likely: 1- make the zeds more of a threat, at the moment they only spawn around loot, make it so they can spawn anywhere, make certain zombies harder depending on their skin, possibly give certain zeds the ability to call other zeds (imagine a priest zed who just stands there screaming at you and all the other zeds in earshot rush you), make it so certain zeds can track you for an unlimited distance once they have your scent (imagine a hunter zed that tracks you half way across the map), make it so that players who are killed by zeds come back as 'survivor zeds' who are harder and can use weapons (imagine your buddy is overwhelmed across town, by the time you reach him he has already turned and is peppering you wildly with his uzi) . 2- make the inventory smaller, the amount of loot a player can carry bythemselves is prodigious, make it so you can only carry say 3 tools, maybe make more loot items double or triple slots, the amount of fluids a character can carry is just silly, no-one can carry that much water. make it so you start with the smallest carry pack, I think there is a pack ingame that is smaller than your starting pack making it a pointless loot item. 3- reward humanity, I think at the moment people with high humanity can run faster, which is cool, but maybe add more incentives, like a reduced chance of suffering negative status effects, blood regeneration, quieter/less visible, remove their dot from other players screens, likewise change the dot of bandits to a red dot that can be seen from further away, or possibly increase the rate at which they need to eat and drink (I see this as a slow decline towards zombism as they become less humane) 4- make military zeds too tough to take out alone, this will reduce the number of military weapons in the game, there is something pure about restricting yourself to civilian weapons, I dont trust anyone with a military weapon and will shoot on sight. 5- finally, and most importantly, make it possible to holster/shoulder your weapon, even in an apocalypse you wouldnt have your weapon in your hand all the time, me and a bunch of mates had a picnic around a campfire, because we were all armed and holding big guns in our hands at all times it looked like a scene from reservoir dogs. I'd be less inclined to shoot a stranger if they werent pointing their gun at me whenever they looked at me. Zed abilities: Hunter: can track your scent and spawns in the woods Farmer: just a bit tougher and can spawn in fields Priest: can call all nearby (2km) zeds and direct them to your location, only spawns around churchess Cop: more resistance to bullets because of their bullet proof vests Tourist: faster and more preceptive (they were sight-seeing) Doctor: more likely to inflict an infection (they were exposed to illnesses during the initial plague) and mostly spawn near hospitals and medical tents as well as mass graves. Technician: cause more damage to vehicles and spawn in industrial areas and gas stations Soldier: make them harder in everyway and almost bullet proof, only spawn around military loot Pilot: same as a soldier/technician hybrid, both sets of abilities Officer: same as a soldier but can also use a sidearm
