  1. Your tents should remain untouched! This should be solved very soon, we are doing maintenance on a few servers this week. We are releasing rMod tonight or tomorrow afternoon depending on a few things we have to finish. This is going to be our #1 priority after rMod is finished, I cannot give a guaranteed release time because it will take some testing to incorporate it with our DayZTools control panel. I assure you it will be released very soon as it is one of our top priorities! UPDATE: Stay tuned for rMod release, we are about 95% finished with setting up our servers with rMod. Chernarus has 128 total vehicles! Lingor Island has 108 total vehicles!

    i dont mind hackers. I was thinking of getting hacks, but there no point if im going to get banned in a week. if you get everyhacker you meet banned then you are just going to leave a bunch of hackers that will just kill you teleport you and ruin your game play you should try and just get the bad hackers banned that use god mod and teleport to other players and kill them. hackers that kill everyone. take their vehicles. destroy their camps. destroy vehicles. spawning vehicles isn't as bad as some people think. unless its a overboard vehicle like a jet. but if its other vehicles like quads off roads then it could be good. i played ona server that didn't have veichles besides quads, boats, bikes, moterbikes, tractors and buses. when veichles came in the server filled with players after a week.

    If your bored and you want to help then the server is SE 53 ip is (94.242.227.162 :2302), and i dont think that we are looking to team up with anyone right now, we are a pretty tactical team... but on this server we have seen some guys driving a truck around cherno and elecktro, so we are trying to find that, and the car we had. is gone, like it vanished.. so we are continuing to look for it.. but if you dont want to help then whatev's, its not that big of a deal, we can research good tactics for finding vehicles, but right now we need help finding this car, or the truck but thats only a two seater i think... but hey if you see mattias.. kill him, he is a bandit I seriously feel like there is a trick that we dont know to get a vehicle.. i see so many people with one but i can NEVER seem to find any, ever... i just wish more spawned

    Sad to hear. However, a piece of advice. You know that rule, never get attached to your gear? That rule applies x10 for vehicles. They never last long. They are too easy to steal and too easy to blow up. You're gonna have to deal with the fact that you're not going to be able to enjoy them for very long.
  7. Chernarus Coastal Squad We fight! We survive! We are the CCS! We play on U.S 2318 server and already have some really decide gear after finding multiple dead bodies and random vehicles. Our squad consists of three members so far and I hope to get at least 2 or 4 more players. As the server says I only accept people from the U.S, preferably people on the East Coast so we have the same time zones. So for ex. I will not accept you if you live in Europe because of the time differences. Age is also another factor, I want this group to be most people under the age of 16, since most other squads don't accept younger players. We do us Skype but are making plans on switching to a different one, but no one is decided yet. If you care to join please message me the application or post a comment below!     Join our new server!

    Define horded vehicles. If my group puts the time in to collect and maintain a fleet of vehicles and hunts other players, which is our standard MO, how long until we get kicked/banned? When I am not out of town working I average about 4 hours a day of DayZ time, my wife often plays along side me and a couple other buddies, which would equate to somewhere around 6-8 man hours a day of members of my group being on the server. How often are server restarts? Is there warning before the restart? Make no mistake, we are bandits and will ruin the day of anyone we can. We shoot first and don't ask questions. I personally will not use, or bring with me scripted weapons, but one of my guys has an AS-50 TWS that we collected from an admin camp on another server, which surprisingly shut down permanently the next day. I did however flatten all of their tents and save them empty before flattening... If we find a camp, we will take what we want from it, then destroy it. If we find a vehicle we don't want, we'll destroy it. We would be pleased to be your resident bandits, assuming your admins play fair and won't use server restarts as a weapon to reduce our groups combat effectiveness. An example being, seeing the UAZ driving by and restarting the server so that there is a number of bandits/survivors standing on the road when they log back in. We have talked about getting our own server, but our group isn't large enough to justify our own server, but we might be willing to support a good home even if the regulars hate us!

Well large amount of us were taking a break tonight due to the massive desync issue with the server atm, we were hoping to jump on a repair a chopper and a couple of vehicles and then kill some peepas for ammo :) Are the "shady" people you are referring to part of BSB or just randoms on the server? there is a no exploit policy in BSB so highly doubt you mean us and the vast majority of BSB I have played with even on my own server for a while now, if however evidence is found of a BSB member doing something they shouldn't I would appreciate you making contact so it could be investigated and dealt with. On topic, Venthos mod is awesome as said but desync is a giant nightmare atm but we understand you are busy and will get round to fixing the problem, on that note you may have got a message or maybe it's a post in here from Vanity/Vanzor regarding servers? He is a quality member of BSB and is willing to help you out with both US and EU servers if you are interested in coming to some sort of agreement with him. If you are interested drop a PM and we can get you both on our TS/swap email addresses or something and sort out the terms. 2 other minor things, 4 choppers although cool seems maybe excessive atm but maybe too early to call we'll get back to you on that and is it possible to put some sort of restriction on out of bounds area? I appreciate people like their shiny cars but I also like stealing them and hate running around the entire map to not find what am looking for when I stash all my stuff on map quite fairly. Anyways keep up the good work Venthos.
  10. My 72 day old character (granted, I have not played every day or even every month) was finally done in tonight. This is my first post in months. I had been living quite well in and around the dam in the North East for quite some time. I set off up north, where people used to park they're spare vehicles when they we're done for the night. Finding nothing, I curved back down to the NW of the NW airfield. Here I got into a simple ARMA firefight with two other humans, using cover and concealment, just like the good old days. They had the better position. I was wishing I had artillery support. No dice. I dropped one, but they dropped me as well, bleeding. I took off into the wild when the shooting stopped for a moment, dropped my weapon and gear under a tree (no loot for sore winners,) hiked as far as I could before deciding to let myself bleed out. Back to the coast. Its different. My coveted flashlight is now standard, the Makarov I used to throw away is now sacred. I have yet to see many of the new features in play. I'm off again, see you all in the woods.

    DZwT: Hero Meet Bandit

    Hey! Another DayZ With Trizzo. Had a pretty fun run a few nights ago!. An epic team up with a Bandit. What makes it interesting is that i play as a hero...and nobdy was killed on sight.... Along the way people will be excuted and people will be saved. It's a battle of wits as the hero tries to change the bandits murderous ways...but skirts on the edge of the dark side himself...Next time you see a bandit think of the possbilities... Contains executions, robberies, vehicles and everything in between! Perhaps not entirely action heavy but the player dynamic is interesting...times of highlights are marked on youtube!

    Vehicle question

    Im not sure if Admins can check where the vehicles are but i know scripts do exist for it. Some admins may use this but i certainly don't. Generally i think you are just being unlucky where you are hiding your vehicles, nothing more depressing than logging back in the middle of nowhere to find your transport gone!
  13. If you like this Idea don't just give beans...comment or bump it so it doesn't get buried please. So you start playing DayZ. You run around collect some gear, "survive", shoot some shit...then what? You join up with or form a group, run around collect gear shoot shit...then what? Well hopefully (soon) you build an underground base with security systems and agriculture systems. You defend it, collect gear, shoot shit, attack other guys fort....then what? First Thing...A clan\friend\family system will need to be integrated into the game. This data can be collected and used to implement the following sort of thing. 1. Put a structure or object into the world that when captured (and while held) grants advanced fort\city\resource management mechanics to the clan controlling it. I think an object would work better because it can be held by a specific player so it can't be taken while clan is offline..(like a structure could). This would be like a giant, persistent game of King OF The Hill going on within DayZ a. The normal underground fort building mechanics would still be there for ALL players. But to the clan holding the "flag" (maybe a government building or something like that) To the clan holding the "flag" more advanced RTS City management option become available. Things like....smelting and forging for ammo & vehicle parts manufacturing infrastructure for electricity and plumbing Advanced agriculture options. Advanced skins and vehicles to establish emergency services The possibilities are great I think. Take the bits that can fit into this context from games like Sim City, Age Of Empires, Civilization or any other cool RTS games. b. The World Is Theirs...If the clan is capable they are free to expand their area of control as far as they can. Of course other players\clans are free to attack, resist infiltrate, subvert or use any means to wrest control away and into their own clans hands. Or Alliances can be made (and betrayed :) woohoo). So much possible fun. c. Ruling clan or clans (maybe there's more than one "flag" to be captured) can still do what They want. Terrorize with death squads, oppress and horde or... attempt to maintain a "safe area" for social interactions and trading, medical services, ect... Ruling clan or clans need to manage resources and defend. While the rest of us can plan revolts, form alliances, and build secret underground base camps and scavenge to survive... Until we can seize power ourselves Blood feuds will form, hatred and Jealousy's fester. Dynasty's may come to power. Uprisings, rebellions, sabotage & espionage, betrayal..... All Out War!!! All unscripted and created dynamically on the fly by US!! Oh yeah, and lets not forget on top of it all Zombies & and infections that are an actual threat. The only tricky issue is not having another clan seize power while ruling clan is offline. One possibility is advanced security systems...electrified fences...mines ext. Another is that the ruling clan could "hire" gaurds. There is a chance that resources can be stolen or property could be damaged but power couldn't change hands if clan is offline. I guess I'm suggesting some government building capability. 1. The implementation is pretty simple 2. It gives players MORE control over creating the world and game play. 3. Provides an infinite "endgame". Always a reason to play. 4. Provide us with an EXCELLENT reason to work together (oust current government) Or be loyal to it. 5. It doesn't dictate the way we play. But it does reward teamwork and or skill.

    Vehicle question

    What version are you running? Sometimes certain servers have trouble with vehicles saving location properly. However, people may just be finding them. Or a scripter can run a script that brings all vehicles to his location.

    That's what we have already, so can you clearly detail the "silly" The only difference is that there is a reduced availablilty of gear in DayZ. I'm not suggesting that you go to international airfield and there be an entire squadron of A-10s, but perhaps one or two that can be made operational. I'm not suggesting either that you go to the barracks and there be crates of all the different weapons. What am suggesting is that they should all be available on the loot table, even if the spawn rate is extremely rare. I don't believe for a second that gear makes a better player, I've killed ghillied out super snipers with the Lee Enfield because they relied too heavily on their gear and not their brain. I've been killed for relying too heavily on my gear instead of using my brain. I've been killed by weapons scripted into the game, but I don't complain about it, because my death was a result of my failing to be aware of my surroundings. I've been killed by hackers too, but as irritating as that is, I can recognize that those issues will be under better control in the stand alone. Demanding that more gear be removed from the game isn't using your brain, it's being lazy. Oh I totally agree with you, however if you have a large enough group of people it is feasible to maintain a rather large fleet of vehicles without resorting to parking off map or duplicating components to fix the vehicles. The UH-1H needs pretty substantial logistics behind it as well, however DayZ does a reasonable job of replicating the logistics needed to keep it operational. An A-10 is going to require more logistics to keep it operational, and the repair process should reflect that, should it ever be available as a legitimate vehicle. I totally agree on the tires and most of the vehicle parts spawned. I can tell you from my own experience, you're not going to pick up a cast iron engine block and toss it in your backpack and carry it all around hells half acre. The UH-1H uses a turbine engine, so how could parts from a reciprocating engine even be useful on the UH-1H? Certain realities are more difficult than others to model digitally and reproduce with authenticity, the vehicle repair model is one of those realities. You're right we don't need an explanation as to why every firearm isn't available. However due to the large military presence in Chernarus, it is likely there would be a fair amount of NVGs and premium grade military firearms, ripe for the picking. Where is all the logistics that supported the dead zombie soldiers? Where are all the weapons left over from the dead military zombies?

Im part of the "inexperienced" group ;) What do you like to primarly do: I like scavenging, setting up construction, driving vehicles/picking people up, spotting, medical support; most unconventional things. I am not big on PvP but am no slouch in a fight either.

  20. I can get in all the doors just by pushing v. you don't have to turn sideways or anything funny but you do have to hit v a lot of the time. Also, I notice no vehicles whatsoever. What's the deal with that?

  22. Hi! After a few weeks without helicopter on our server (and several other vehicles), we decided to do a complete serverwipe (Thanks to multigamer.no for the quick response and help on the matter). Now, after having wiped the server clean, gotten our new instanceID etc, it seems that the helicopter still doesn't spawn. We've checked all the other vehicle spawns, and all the vehicles are at their spawns, but not the helicopter (none of the spawnpoints!). Has anyone else experienced this? And what the hell is it that makes vehicles disappear and never reappear again? We've been without several vehicles for 2-3 weeks now, including but not limited to the GAZ, UAZ and the Ural. My worst fear is that it is some strange bug included in the 1.7.2.6-patch, but tbh I don't have the time nor skills to figure those things out. Thanks in advance for any replies! - dANIELZN

    Hero Nation - Good or bad idea?

    Well, I was thinking that we set up temperioral safe-zones. Such as we arrive in Chernogrosk with our vehicles, and create a safezone in a warehouse, for example, guarded by sandbags and wire fences, after that we'd place afew tents inside the warehouse, place guards around the perimitter, then send out some people to go scavengate, scout and help people. After some time, we gather all the stuff and move on to next location.
