We need to the barracks (Arma) door fixing (like they did with Lingor). I would love also to refuel the vehicles going near to the fuel station.. i'm missing this feature now. For the rest, the map is almost perfect, the loot spawns fine, and into many "new" buildings.

Maintenance, yes all vehicles should. The tree thing, is a problem with the engine, not the heli. It is perfectly well thought. Rocket made an anti-game. You and people like you are trying to turn it into a game, with 'balance'. You are trying to ruin the very things that make this mod great. You want balance go play Planetside 2, or Tribes, or CoD, or BF3, the list goes on.

It sucks loosing a vehicle and really, using them is hit and miss. Personally the bicycle is king for me. Pretty quick over all terrains, quiet and no fuel needed. Cars are good for storage if u can't find tents (and shelter). Play on a private hive and you might find they last a little longer (and make sure you hide them well and when u have hidden them, walk 200m away and look back - the foliage disappears pretty much completely and the textures blur into a soup making things like tents and vehicles stick out like a hookers flange.)

Admins can check everything you own, what's in ur tents and ur cars and where you are on the map at any time and ur vehicles and ur tents. Nothing is safe from them and unfortunately not all admins use that privilege fairly.

I would side more for this to be in the game. Sure, it wouldn't be impossible for someone to score a huey, but I think civilian vehicles are more believable.

Definitely definitely definitely did a great job on the map. It's my new favorite. Just a few small bugs but nothing which couldn't be addressed. Also, there most certainly are vehicles. I spent a few hours fixing up an UAZ yesterday. Now that I've got a running vehicle, I'm going to drive around looking for more in need of repair. As I find them I like to put the parts in them, leaving them for others to come across. *edit Oh, on a side note, I did manage to figure out how to get through those small doorways. If I go prone as I'm walking up to the doorway, my toon will go half way in / out then I can continue. Before, I was walking right up to the doorway, stopping, then going prone. Doing such wasn't allowing me to go through it. Another bug; going down some of the stair wells. My toon will hit his head and get stuck. I have to crouch to continue. This is happening in the warehouse which has the chute on the side of it. Also got stuck in the small "tower" at one of the airfields. It's the small shack on stilts with 2 flights of stairs leading up. I managed to get up but when trying to come back down my toon got stuck on the landing and I couldn't get down the final flight of steps. It took a couple of minutes but I did finally manage to get out. It's almost as if the characters are just a touch bigger on this map.

@Demon Please don't be offended by my previous post as I meant no ill intention. My apologizes if it came across wrong. It was late at night for me. I do agree that the little details do add to the immersion. I just meant at this point in time, adding the need for a can opener would be moot as there are more, bigger details which could be addressed. Although, I don't see why it couldn't be made so as a Toolbox is needed to open cans. Change the description on the toolbox to read as "Contains hardware necessary for constructing, deconstructing, repairing, and basic survival needs." Have it so as a toolbox is necessary to repair vehicles or remove parts from them; repair and keep weapons in working order (if weapons are made to slowly degrade with use); boil water from a well or pond and open canned food; repair cracked whiskey bottles (duct tape) so they could hold fuel and make them in to molotov cocktails.

Hi, you sound like exactly the type of players we look for. We are the BSB Network a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! server restart... most exploits are with loot not vehicles

Unfortunately, this is true with all the vehicles right now. Until the DayZ devs release a fix, there really isn't anything that can be done.

the problem with choppers is, that they leave so f*cking big white marks on the screen at day, so that more than one is just stupid, the frst one to find a helo wil find the others in a matter of minutes also, finding vehicles and tents in woodland is way to easy with a helicopter, because of the bugged out trees which show next to no leaves at all when looked at from directly above knowing gameplay from before and after the helo patch, i think it should be a setting serverwise if there should be a helo or not, and if, only without screen-indicators

There's this guy on the server 85.131.229.167:2302 (Server name is DayZLingor DE 101 ~200 vehicles) He went by the name of L30n4rd or something like that, after I told him he'd be reported he changed name to EG0. He is currently playing there right now. basically he has gatherd tons of cars on the island northeast of Maruko and wont let anyone near there. I drove my car there and he immideatly said in the side chanel "Dont drive there bernie it's my teritory". And before I have time to finish the sentence im insta killed, he comes back and drags my body elsewhere and vanishes with my pickup truck, As I don't like hackers no matter what I started to run abck there and I hear gunshots. He keeps missing and then he decides to insta break my legs and kill me again. I'm not sure he's the Admin but if there's an admin reading this now you have good chances of getting this player banned. Sadly all my printscreens are to no help since I use dual monitors and instead of getting screenshots of the game I only got screens of my desktop. Edit: The camp hes guarding with all the vehicles is called Puenta malargo

Everyone is missing the point. The fun and enjoyment is IN the actual process of collecting gear and repairing vehicles, it's the GOAL that you should look at, rather than it being work. If I looked at the game as if looting and repiaring was 'work' I would never play it. Enjoy it while you have it, cause you're going to lose it anyway.

If you don't know how to enter a new vehicles, just take one of them in the table and copy it, then just adjust the possition a little(so it is not parked ontop of the one u just copied) I presume you have the database running on a pc you have access to. OP has a good point here. At first I really cared about my stuff. After getting killed a couple of times you lose that affection, especially if the cause was a hacker. Conclusion: Gearing up is only interesting until you are strong enough to take on other players. That's relatively easy and not really time consuming. Getting and keeping vehicles is out of the question for a loner, especially when he can only play a couple of hours a week, as normal with people having a life....and playing on different servers each time. So there's no reason to bother with that unless beeing lucky or able to steal/carjack from someone else. Same with keeping a camp. The so called endgame for such players can only be fucking around with other players like trolling or just killing them on sight hence trying to be friendly most of the times will not be rewarded. The only solution I see for now is going on a private hive and trying to stick to a single server. There you might make friends or keep a camp or something. You might...

LOL - I am even lazy to flame this post at the rate it deserves to be flamed. What boy? What do you suggest? What a great idea to move all these MILLIONS of hacked and duplicated items in the standalone? Uh? Yeah...you should start immediately to stack another 10 tents with AS50s, DMRs, Ghillies, ext. However, you have forgotten vehicles! What about them? and the Helis! YES! Move everything that ruined DayZ game experience to the point to have 50K active players in the past 24H instead of 600K just 2 months ago.

My motivation is gone under my shoes by a while already... my crew is playing Arma2 MP missions atm.. it was impossible to do anything in dayz due to cheaters everywhere. I was thinking to create a sort of "police" on the private hive servers.. basically ppl *cheating* but with no weapons, just lurking the other players, finding ppl teleporting around, or spawning stuff, or acting "oddly" (ie: a new spawn that goes directly to a bike, then goes to a tent.. kwnowing perfectly where they are placed, miles away). That is basically what we're doing to collect the (undetected) cheaters right now, but using an algorythm to determine if someone is cheating or not... with the difference that a "real" person is a way smarter than a PC. The only (isn't that small) problem is that you need to trust that players, even if they doesn't carry a weapon, they may know every player/vehicles/anything position on the server, and with the amount of "kids" playing this game.. you can't really trust anyone. The other problem is that you'll be flagged as "cheater" (even if your intentions are "good") .. and so you gonna risk your KEY (and so your money). And last but not least: how to find someone that have enough time to look around without playing? It must be a serious nerd! :)
