    Private Hive Spawn Locations

    Anyone got a tutorial for how to get more vehicles to spawn on my Bliss Private hive... i can see them in the database, but I cant even get the locations to change...

    Private Hive Spawn Locations

    Bliss hive seems to have like 50-50 of the same spawns, with a few non-DayZ/non-Banned vehicles in. SUV are pretty nice and fast. As per the location, like the above said, taking what they had, and (slowly, since it's such a pain in the ass) move the spawns a bit so they're not identical. Way more interesting that way, plus many servers run anywhere from like 24 to 100+ vehicles. :)

Server name: US 1799 Timezone: mine: PST, server: UCT -4 Date/ Time: not sure, about two weeks ago Server Admin: no idea but it is hosted by Shadows of Syn What happened: Being the bandit I am I keep my eye out for camps, both on servers and on the forum. I found a post talking about a major camp on 1799 at International Airport, just north of the Northern barracks. So of course I went and checked it out and lo and behold, there is a major camp there. It is LLTS' clan camp, stretched throughout the airport, 20+ tents and some vehicles. Anyway, I'm happily raiding their tents, carrying whatever I can, I then turn around and run away, out of the airport when I start getting shot at. Now I did the pussy thing and combat disconnected but then I was only there for the raid, not a fight (excuses I know). The only two people on with me at that point were two guys with LLTS tags. Next day I try to rejoin to see what I may have missed and get that: So I recruit the hubby to go in there and have a look for himself (at this point I'm thinking I got banned for DCing which is still against hosting rules but I could have understood that), which he did. The server was empty at that point, no one else on during the entire time he was there. He looted a few tents, found a bus, blew it up, looked around some more, then returned to our "home server". Next day, tries to join and gets the same screen as posted above. I also browsed this forum for "1799" and found several other threads with people complaining about getting banned after discovering the airport camp, regardless of whether they looted anything or not. http://dayzmod.com/f.../page__hl__1799 http://dayzmod.com/f.../page__hl__1799 http://dayzmod.com/f.../page__hl__1799 Apparently US 1799 is a public private server where everybody can join... once. Evidence: Well, all I have is the screenshot but anyone can go on there and try for themselves. I'm still planning on sending a few friends over there to see if it will happen to them as well. Also I remember a few pop up messages after joining the server, pretty much stating that the server gets restarted whenever the owners feel like it and people will get banned for this, that and the other thing. It all sounded a little off, that's the best way I can word it.
  5. I have a private server up and running and had a question about the vehicle spawn. I've read things like there being four motorcycles per server yet in all of the locations I've looked, only one motorcycle has turned up. And the V3S Civilian isn't in either of the locations that others have said it is in. So are vehicles have a % chance to spawn in one of those locations each time the server is reset or do they just eventually spawn? How does this process work? I do know that no one else has taken the vehicle already because currently I'm the only one playing. I'm thinking about adding a few people but I'm still trying to find the best way to go about finding trusted players who will agree to play by a rule set on this server. If anyone is interested in playing on this server send me a message. The idea behind this server is: Zombies are based on slow walking zombies like seen in Night of the living dead and Walking dead TV show. There are also tons of Zombies so sometimes it does get a little scary if your not careful as you will find yourself in the middle of 100+ zombies. We plan to hold weekly events where we have two groups, bandits and survivors. During these events the two groups fight eachother for control over rights to a select city. The winning group gets to claim this city and kill off the other group should they attempt to tresspass at anytime during the week. PvP will be limited so that the game isn't sorely based off PvP and leans more on survival. The only time PvP will take place is during events or if you find someone tresspassing through your land. Suggestions will be welcomed. Just not sure how to go about selecting those who would be interested at this time. Sorry this post strayed from the main topic. Any help on the vehicle spawn would be appreciated.

The most reassuring thing amidst reading the posts upset about "people kill people :(" is that Rocket has constantly stated with absolution that players will be the biggest threat in the game by design. This obviously means player VERSUS player will be a cornerstone of the game. Not just shooting people, but "versus" player in terms of vying for resources/vehicles/camp sites/etc. If this make you upset and you want to play "Fischer Price Presents: Zombie Tickle Carnival" where all you do is team up with people who can't hurt you to kill zombie AI, then you should take this opportunity to seek a new game that's marketed accordingly. DayZ will forever be focused around PvP elements with the other criteria (zombies included) being supporting mechanics for the PvP aspect. This is what makes it different from the other games, and why DayZ is and will continue to be awesome. I have no problems if it drives away the crowd that is hoping for a PvE focused game.
  7. Just to remind , vilayer currently supports only 30 vehicles per server. Hopefully they will understand it's very low and increase it in the near future ... If not guess i'll just try to find somebody else or stop with the hosting idea :P.
  8. Must Have ------------- 1. Active Admins 2. 30+ vehicles 3. Atleast 2 restarts 4. Most important being active and stable server. I don't know if this is the right section in the forum to post this, if it's wrong please move it. If someone can suggest one to me i will move to that server permanent building camps etc. :)

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.6 Rolling Update

    Plz for the love of DayZ. Fix Vehicle spawns. :( After a hacker blow up all the vehicles on the server since this Patch, for over a week now only Bikes and boats have spawned on our server. Oh and crashed choppers, Hackers got baned of cause. No other vehicles are spawning and i'm not the only admin that is saying this. My server players have dropped from a full server to a empty server in the last week because of this. All but the regulars players which are also slowly getting bored. Standalone is 2 months or so from release and DayZ community is dropping fast. At least fix the vehicle spawn if nothing else, so we may be able to keep the public dayz server open and active till standalone.
  10. There are settings now for admins that allow wiping of the out of map areas, so players and clans can't hide their bases and vehicles! Some servers have it some don't. I was a camp destroyer, walking the length or the outside border was a great day out looking for camps to loot and destroy, but they got sick of hiding stuff on the end of the map and being robbed so they hid their camps further inland.
  11. you require tunngle, after install of tunngle to go to community-networks-private networks and enter username: dayzhiveprivate password: dayz open up OA and go to mulitplayer and enter LAN server will be there :) no hacking please will result in ban if i think you are good then i make you mabye an admin and allow you some privileges ;) server isnt dedicated so recommend only British nationals or people in Ireland or near in Europe . server is up between 4pm and 10pm and occasionally longer or shorter. hope to see you there!!!

If anything the ghillie suited players should have to make a choice, whether to be fully camouflaged or have a big backpack. because not being visible is enough of an advantage in itself, the backpacks not being shown on player models must be a glitch and should be fixed IMO. (yes I've went ghillied up a few times, it really feels like cheating) As for the Hero speed boost, that's a player choice more than anything. I'm a Hero on @Hive servers because of my play style, not because anything was forced upon me. Everybody who only kills in self defence and helps out others has earned that little reward I think. Normal survivors would be moving at normal speed, not slower. The added weight restrictions really would make vehicles a lot more desirable, even more than they are already. The whole vehicle spawn mechanic as it stands in the mod is a bit crap though. Having set spawn points takes the adventure out of finding cars/bikes. Running from one known spawn location to another looking for a car doesn't feel natural, if the spawns were truly random and ANYWHERE on the roads, hillsides, forests and dirt tracks of Chernarus everyone would have the same chances instead of the first come first served way it is now. (I get the distinct feeling sometimes the admins and their buddies have repaired and hidden the chopper on pretty much every server)

    I've been with them nearly a month and it's been good. Just switched to private hive and I'm having some issues with vehicles and crash sites. Still waiting to hear what's wrong. Also no idea how to access this server map as mentioned above. Generally good though 9/10

    Non-DayZ Vehicles? (Chinooks plz >_> )

    Well I have a new Bliss Hive server and it is possible to add the vehicles to the database and them "appear" but you have to push out the updated files in a manner similar to Takistan. I'm not sure exactly how to do it, but I know it CAN be done.

    Go to "Pobeda dam" always somthing there or at "black mountain". And if you see vehicles riding at same spot over several days it's a good indication a camp is nearby / or in a general direction of the map

    Would both cases require that the players who join the server need to install new/more files? I've noticed that some of the newer maps appear to have vehicles on the ban list, perhaps I'm mistaken, but wouldn't that, if true, also ban those vehicles?

    Players in the last 24 hours

    In my opinion people are quitting for two main reasons: 1) No more updates. In the beginning it seemed like updates were coming every couple of weeks each time the game changed (for better or worse) giving you a reason to play to see the changes. 2) Hackers. The hacking situation has become ridiculous. Why bother creeping around slowly building up your loot when any minute an invincible soldier can teleport to you and kill you. I played on 4 separate servers the other night each with middle population and each death was due to hackers. I understand that the reason for 1. is all the effort is going into launching the standalone before War Z comes out and that once it is out it should solve 2. So until it does I may pop on every now and again for a bit of Elextro mini game but putting the effort into building bases, fixing vehicles is not worth it when it is taken away so cheaply.
  20. I hear that rMod essentially loads itself after dayz and unbans a lot (all?) of the vehicles. Note that both your server and your players will need the custom mods loaded along with DayZ. If it doesn't work as expected, or you want to actually customize things further, then you need the various Bohemia Interactive tools to essentially do some mod development and edit the PBOs. The newly changed PBOs will then need to be signed by you and given to your players and hosted on your server. It's a bit of a steep learning curve if you've never done any sort of mod development with Bohemia Interactive before, but once you're up and running it's not too bad. In either case, you'd need access to either add new mods entirely or overwrite DayZ's existing PBOs for your server (depending on the route you go).
  21. Stop whining and find a toolbox. I used barbed wire to fortify an active outpost in a dense urban area, though it is enter-able and not completely blocked off. Also most vehicles can knock it down. Wire that is, my outpost is better than that.

Server restarts didn't help in getting the vehicles to their spawns, so we asked the cheater/hacker (who came to us in the first place offering help, not the other way around) to destroy all the vehicles in the server so they can spawn again, because no one on the server had a vehicle due to some retard teleporting them all (if I understood well) outside the map. We wanted the vehicles in their original spawn so we can find and repair them, and we didn't do it for us, we did it for the good of the server and other players on it.

    Lingor Island Chit Chat.

    Totally loving lingor, more vehicles, more mil-spec loot, more action. Have had better player interactions there too. Taking a nice holiday from chernarus and enjoying the sun. A quick story. The other day I got an M24, and headed to an elevated position in calamar to snipe. Local time was around 0600, and whilst the server was lo-pop, sure enough I get a contact within 5 minutes. Watching this guy (asterix) move, I know he is gonna be a hard target. Always running, he never stops, sprinting through the residential buildings to the west of the airfield. When he gets within 300m, I say fuck it and start shooting while he is still running. Miss, miss, hit, miss. I tag him but no KO, and he is in a building. He proceeds south, using the buildings for cover, whilst I hock the occasional 7.62 at him. In side chat, he asks another player if said player is the bastard shooting at him. I chime in, and identify myself as the bastard In question. He wants to loot the airfield, but knows he is fucked with me on overwatch. I explain my bandit disposition, but propose a compromise. I will let him live, and assist his looting, if he blood bags me, and of course, I know he needs a blood bag too. We strike a deal, and amazingly, he does not kill me on sight. I assist his loot run, we hit the hospital, and heal up. We decide to roll together for a while. I had spotted a Ural earlier, so we check it out. Loaded to the gills with guns! We hop in and head north, and apart from one small misunderstanding (with shots fired) when I accidentally drove off without him, we are all good. That is, until I prang the Ural into a roadblock, destroying it and killing myself. He survived though. I bequeathed him my M24 and Alice pack, and wished him luck. Until next time, my little Gaulish pal!

    They must have placed a setDamage 1 trigger on the edge of the map. I think it's fair to allow vehicles and tents to get deleted after an hout outside the map, but this seems a little excessive.
