Yes the max ping is set to 175. Again the vehicles are just to test. I figure 75 vehicles is plenty to go around but we will see.

Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have over 200 players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved. Hello everyone, Just wanted to make a quick post about my new Lingor Island server. I have recently changed over to spice things up a notch. I was constantly running into hacker problems on my other server and will now be more able to combat against it. I will do my best to ensure that this server is hacker free and fun for everyone. I will not abuse admin power and will always be willing to change things for the better. At anytime feel free to send me a PM for suggestions on my server. I hope to see you there! 209.222.101.34:10802 US 1045 Lingor 0.34/Beta 97361 (-9 GMT) Server is hosted in Philadelphia (-5 GMT), set to -9 GMT so it is light out at prime hours (6-11pm) Vehicle Spawns: 75 Cleanup Daily I WILL ban hackers on site no questions asked. Certain things will be up for kick/warning to player, I will make judgement based on severity of hack/script. Please play fair. This server is all about fun. Currently I have vehicles set to spawn in with fuel and fully repaired. This is for testing purposes and may be subject to change based on feedback from friends and players. I can always make slight changes to vehicles (always fuel but not repaired or repaired but never fuel etc) and will be attempting to find the best settings for maximum fun. Please give me as much suggestions/feedback as possible as I would love to hear it. I know a lot of people like the "survival" aspect of DayZ as do I, this is why I am strictly testing the vehicle settings.

that depends if it is a private hive or not I guess, because our host fixed that for us. If it doesn't work try this: Put amount of vehicles to zero. Restart. Put the amount of vehicles to what you want. Please let me know if this worked.

There is a mod manager , uninstall your current map ( btw database stays untouched ) then try installing the newest patch . Eventho it might be a bit more problematic since you are not even able to stop the server . And I guess we are on the same boat for now the Max vehicles you are able to set on all of the maps can't exceed 30 sadly . Hopefully it gets changed in the future .

I managed to set it to 30 vehicles for chernarus but i think this can be increased if i change the map to lingor island. I cant get the server to start let alone stop it again, but i am aware that it needs to be stopped if i am to make any changes. Not sure what i would have to uninstall, other than the files i have to play DayZ without a server. Still waiting for a response from Vilayer.com, i still appreciate any help you guys can give me.

I agree that on Chernarus every door should not be lockable due to low number of lootable buildings anyway, but a few key ones would be neat, like the barracks or the rusty sheet metal barns for storing vehicles as suggested here. Lockable doors on Lingor would make more sense as nearly every building is enterable and it would be cool to lock the door on "your house." Barbed wire is a whole different story. 1) It causes graphics glitches. 2) It can be placed in a way as to be inaccessible to remove. 3) It respawns on restart. 4) It can be stacked infinitely deep. (<-Edited to add) Finding breeching rounds or a crowbar should be much easier than finding a toolbox and hitting the sweet spot on barbed wire. Padlocks wouldn't stop anyone, merely slow them down. If you get locked in a building... you're a dumbass for entering a building with only one door. The "using item" animation should be plenty of time for you to run out the back door.

I too have just tried to log on this very instant to the server in question only to receive the following ban reason "BattleEye: Admin Ban (really, scripting in wire isn't worth it)" I have never used scripts and have no intention of doing so, if it wasn't for the 7 or so vehicles my group of friends and i painstakingly restored over the last few days i wouldn't really care as i can just get them to transfer our items from tents to another server, but the vehicles obviously cannot be moved. These guys will ban you if you beat them at PvP or find their camps. 5 of my clan, including myself, got whitelisted. We quickly kicked their asses and blew up several of their vehicles. Then while no one else was online we were bored and went camp hunting. (They had already taken all the choppers before whitelisting us.) We found their camps and stole a few choppers. Now my whole clan is banned from their server. lol That doesn't bother me, but accusing us of hacking is lame. Especially after they broke their own server rules by shooting unarmed fresh spawns. While we left them alive with a pistol, cuz the fight wouldn't have been a challenge. One of my members also reported some fishy actions on their part, but as I have no logs to post, I won't go into that. -
Suggestions for the DayZ standalone - thinking outside of the limitations of an Arma 2 mod.

Here's a list of a couple of ideas... Constructing weapons, weapon mods, bullets, explosives, traps, barriers, clothing, poisons, antidotes. Firearms (and bullets) should be a lot rarer, so there's more of an intimidation feature- in the dayzmod, if someone has a rifle drawn, you never really question whether or not they have ammo, seeing as it is so easily accessible (in most cases). I think it'd be cool if you had to outsmart players and zombies, rather than either avoid or shoot them. As in, set traps of falling debris, possibly a car alarm (which would attract zombies and other players). A trading interface is a must-have in my opinion. Customisable outfits- so your friends can distinguish you from enemies. Possibly apply attributes to some clothes, such as; sunglasses remove sun glare, kevlar vests resisting some weaker bullets. Generators- they could provide light, heat (portable heaters) and also generate a lot of sound which would attract players and zombies. Handheld and placeable (and re-usable) candles. The ability to extinguish and destroy light sources. Locks for doors (good for bases, hiding out in an abandoned house maybe?) Lockpicking ability (and the ability to just destroy them) Subways- imagine the possibilities (building an underground city, for one) Jails- players could take up the role of being vigilantes, or just lock up players for the lulz Wooden planks to barricade windows and block doors. The ability to move bodies (possibly string up corpses as warnings) Radios, which could be used to communicate over distances, however they run on batteries (which will expire) Both clothes and weapons degrade- shoes will deteriorate over time, which could possibly decrease speed ever so slightly. Scratches and sores- these could increase the chance of being infected with some sort of flu or infection. Blood attracts zombies The ability to tie people up- this could provide other opportunities such as tying someone up, stealing their stuff and cutting them- zombies would detect the blood and attack the victim where all you have to do is sneak out a window... The ability to enter windows! Using melee weapons to create entrances- breaking locked doors, breaking walls and flanking hiding enemies. More objects to distract others (rc cars, bells, car alarms) Vehicles overhaul ideas; you should be able to walk around in larger vehicles such as buses (camp for enemies to enter then eliminate them). Handling should be fixed- there seems to be a little delay, More animations- at the current state- no one can tell whether you are eating, drinking, or picking up a pistol. I mean, even if you just have a reaching animation for loot on the ground, that'd be fine. Possibly even have injection animations, eating animations. Animated Storage Items- such as (possibly placeable) crates, chests. The ability to create medication- if done improperly could have some negative effects. Maybe create injectable poisons or gases that create hallucinations(turn a group of players on each other), maybe slow their reflexes, distort their vision... And the ability to create custom signs, time capsules (like warz) and maybe use spraypaint We should also be able to customise cars, rather than just repairing them- as in welding metal plates on the windows to provide bullet resistance, offroad tires for better handling offroad etc etc As vehicles get damaged they should show it on the body, rather than just having an icon on the top left indicating damage Oh, and of course much more vehicle diversity- we need a badass muscle car :P It'd be pretty cool if the environments you go through impact your appearance- say you roll around in dirt and mud, it could provide a sort of temporary camo Loot should also spawn on shelves, tables, and storage items( such as chests, wardrobes)- rather than just on the floor... -

And that is exactly the problem, such high tier weapons are completely unnecessary for a game like this. This is a zombie survival simulator, not a military combat simulator. I can't believe I have to explain this. Nobody in their sane mine would take a rocket launcher to use as a survival tool against zombies or even players. Not only would it slow you down incredibly, it would only be effective against vehicles, not against zombies or players, so the only use it will have is destroying stuff, that shit belongs in military combat simulators. -

Nope, most vehicles can run over it. V3S, URAL, Offroad, UAZ, old hatchback, bus...not sure about bikes, motorbikes or ATVs, though. I would highly doubt the ATV, considering it can't even drive over a bridge safely.

So, if I set up barbed wire across a road, and a vehicle (car, Motorbike, truck, bicycle) drives over it, will it stop or break or something? The ambush potential is too great for me not to ask this question! Thanks

Private Hive [100 Vehicles] Active Admins

I've played quite a bit on this server, and although I praise the admins work, which is for the best and helps a lot with hackers, I'd like to leave my feedback along with the reasons I'm leaving the server: - Side channel chat: I know you can turn off VON, but that'll turn off the direct chat as well and that is crucial to gameplay. The chats going on are completely disruptive to the gameplay. Guys screaming, cursing, asking for directions and help in game, I've been more than once in tense situations looking for a player, hearing for footsteps and other audio cues, and there's some guy screaming on side channel. This absolutely sucks and ruins it. The admins do stand up and tell them to shut up (and eventually ban if they ignore the advice), but it's still disruptive nonetheless. - Nameplates: well this one I knew when coming in, but after playing for a week I can't cope with. Pointing my crosshair at a bunch of bushes and getting a "??? (Survivor) - x meters" takes all the stealth out of the game, and the point in having a rangefinder or sizing up the distance using the milidot scopes. - The loot tables must be changed, I've found 5 heli crash sites during the week and ... they all had FN FALs. Only FN FALs. 3 per crash site. I might be extremely unlucky, but I've never had this happen in 3 months of playing in public hives. - Admins awarding AS50 TWS for the events. IMHO, the L85AWS is the most unbalanced/game changing legit weapon, and you throw the thermal as50 into gameplay? I'm not even grieving, I only died a couple of times and had my share of kills and looting around and having fun with the vehicles (which are awesome) and a couple of friends playing with me. I wish the admins and the rest of players the best, Greets, G -
Eh, this isn't true is it? Don't you think some of the features they plan on implementing in the future/standalone might be enough? Deeper medical shit, harder to rep vehicles, underground bases ect. I thought the bases would be something that would defiantly require cocperation and a lot of time. Hopefully these kind of things will plainly give people more to do than kill people. I think its best that we see this does before they change the core of the zombie threat. And I don't think 'Humanity' actually means how physically human you are. If you lost your humanity and turned into a Z.. then.. I reckon the effort they're putting into story development might just be underwritten people randomly turning..

You lost an ATV. Everyone loses camps, vehicles, gear, ect, but some people decide to be little bratty kids and think they have a right to start hacking to get it back. So then they do, but then they don't stop either. Yes, you deserved your ban and I hope you never come back to Day Z. (or Arma II even) -

Agreed, I want to see all efforts focused on the standalone. Now they've opened up the private hive situation there's going to be some interesting servers to play on though. I've already seen a few with some heavy changes on the way with regards to weapons and vehicles and even a mod spin-off. Happy day's!

this game does need more in depth after you had the vehicles the merks the survival what is there ? it needs missions added like in wasteland mod . this makes people do objectives . this opens up the game and stops the usual camp up in churnos or electra lows. imagine you have to go join up go fix a generator at stary and the others no this ! brings a whole new element to the game which is purpose!
