Ok so while driving my bike I come across a minivan full of gear but no gas so I wait for about 10 mins and I see the owner running towards it I kill him, loots his jerry cans and I am off and thinking. Damn poor soul. Ok so Then I thought what if vehicles needed keys to start? They could like make drawers in some houses that has a key in them to the vehicle outside? and they can put in Hotwire kits in the game thats uncommon and you will like do a little mini game where you cut yellow and red connect and it starts. This could work rather nicely but also turn quite ugly.

Vehicles.. Lets be honest

Why are vehicles so critical? Why is the ural so "useful" ? What would you do if you had a vehicle?? -
Vehicles.. Lets be honest
ZomboWTF replied to kreatura (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
decreasing fuel capacity does nothing, vehicles will be less usefull (especially the awesome blue partyvan) and will only be used as mobile camps Just make more vehicles, add stamina to players, increadse the spawn amount on repairing stuff, problem solved, people actually need vehicles now, will drive around WAY more often and hoarding becomes superfluid people will also stop making camps just at the border of the map, imagine you'd only be able to run about a kilometer and need to rest 10 minutes to be able to run again, or you walk the whole time, imagine one guy gets to your camp 5km away from anything, blows everything up and you all have a good time walking back to where shit actually is add an extreme amount of low-value cars, with maybe 10 item and 1 weapon slot, not more, make them extremely easy to be wrecked, add 20 bikes(which will now also drain stamina) and you're good to go sadly this will never happen, because everything goes to the standalone now -
Game Server Hosting by SurvivalServers.com *** INSTANT SETUP | CUSTOM CP | FTP | CUSTOM MODS | ANTI-HACK **
Pegz replied to SurvivalServers (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I noticed, if your in the map tool, and look at the list of vehicles spawned. Put a check mark next to each vehicle (or tent!) you want to delete and click sumbit at the bottom of the screen. You'll have to do this each time your run the DayZtool though, but its the only way to keep the vehicles and limit the amount of choppers on the map. We had the same issues, and I played around for a bit and found this. Or another thing you could do is go into PHPmyAdmin and remove a couple heli's from the Database under spawns, however keep in mind removing it will keep it from spawning in that location in the future. I personally think its better to have the heli's and such spawning in different places so I used the first method to control how many we have on the server. -
Hello Server Admin Cheated on EN 988 He bann all players from the server does not make what he wants He has a big camp on the position 000/005 on the mountain, but be careful! 20 tents with arms ammunition and hundreds of sandbags almost all vehicles are up there I was banned because I was not in his opinion! Oceanicgamers.com.au - Private Hive - Chernarus - Whitelisted - UPDATED TO 1.7.3
Ripperz posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hey guys, Just letting you know about this new server that we are hosting for our fellow Oceanic Gamers and anyone else keen to play! Its hosted in the US as it is much cheaper to run and maintain but the latency difference is barely noticeable. Its a Veteran server set at GMT+6 Time zone, so its daylight during the Australian prime-time! If your tired of servers with abusive admins/clans look no further, our admins monitor the server on a regular basis and do not promote shady business. If you are looking for a good time, and a clan to have clan battles with, this is the server for you! About Us: Oceanic Gamers are a group of Aussies/NZ's that enjoy playing Dayz and other online games together. We love to PvP and have "clan battles" whenever we can. We are a friendly community looking to expand, all are welcome as long as you speak fluent english and over the age of 17 (Rare exceptions can be made). Features: 50+ Vehicle spawns. 6 Hour restarts. Third person enabled. No name-plates. Crosshairs enabled. Active staff monitoring the server. 40 Player slots. Care Packages and Vehicle Wreaks added(Similar to crashed heli's) Custom loading screen. Player death messages. Stable server with Tents and Vehicles saving correctly. Side chat enabled, Direct chat enabled. Alt+F4ing during combat(Survivors and Zombies) will result in a ban. Constant Updates. And much, much more! UPDATE (13/10/2012): After a numerous amount of hackers nuking the server and teleporting other players, we have decided to Whitelist the server which will be put in action on the 14th of October around 2:00PM AEST. We will also be working to add a new custom loading screen, advanced killed by messages(Player1 was killed by Player2) and also anti-hack software to help combat the script kiddies. If you are interested in joining the Whitelist, you can go to our website at oceanicgamers.com.au and click on the Whitelist Application tab located at the top of the page underneath the OceanicGamers logo. UPDATE (4/11/2012): After some polls on our website, we have decided to enable side chat and change the server so it is 24/7 daylight. We have also updated to the latest version 1.7.3 and added Care Packages and Vehicle Wreaks(they spawn similar to crashed helicopters). UPDATE (25/12/2012): We recently had to change our Teamspeak IP address, our new Teamspeak IP is: 203.46.105.36:20030. The IP down the bottom has been edited also. We are also looking for your feedback and open to your suggestions, we have a Website/Forum and Teamspeak which everyone is welcome to join: TeamSpeak: 203.46.105.36:20030 Website: http://oceanicgamers.com.au/ Hope to see you guys soon! -
Hello, folks. My name is Chris and I have been playing Dayz for about 4 days now. I bought ArmA specifically for this mod and have no intention of ever playing the ArmA standalone. That said, I guess I lack a lot of the "game experience" that players who've played ArmA extensively must have. However, I pick games up VERY fast, and have played many FPS/MMO games over the last 10 years - 100% of the time in a clan setting. My point? I work well with others and I've never found a game I wasn't good at. The game has everything I could want, but the only element that it's missing is company. I've never played a PC game that wasn't made all the more fun with other players around. I am not fussed as to whether you are Bandits or Survivors, but please don't take this as a demonstration of lack of focus. I know I'd enjoy either play style. The only thing I'm not interested in is sniping fresh spawns in Cherno "for the lulz" and other such activity. I am quite eager to try robbing people, not killing them, but forcing them to down gear, take what we need to survive and letting them go on their merry way. I don't want to steal their pistol when the one I have is better and has more ammo. A Bandit with a little humanity left, if you will. On the other hand, I am happy to scavenge and scrounge, to help others, and fire only when fired upon, etc. I'm 28, have Skype, Teamspeak and Vent. No steam account. At least not one that I can remember the password for. I work fairly regular hours and have weekends off with 1-3 evening shifts a week. If anyone or group is happy to take me under their wing, show me just how deep this game can be - camps, vehicles, etc. - then 100% commitment from myself shall be your payment. PM me. Regards, Chris.

After recently purchased a server, a few of the regulars on the server told me that they found a chopper but then crashed it - I dont have much interest in the Huey at the moment because of the high probability of it crashing and just something going wrong etc. So they asked me to check if the chopper had respawned (it's been I think about a week or two). I checked some of the server logs and in the arma2oaserver file it's got a list of the vehicles on the server - I THINK ("OBJ: .... "UH1H_DZ"). When the server loads up it has a list of objects which includes a bunch of tents, some wire, and then a bunch of vehicles - including the huey - which I assume are all on the server. Does this mean that the Huey has spawned, or does it just do that each time the server loads? They've told me they checked every spawn site and it's not there which makes me wonder if the log file is including a potential huey spawn.

Vehicles.. Lets be honest
Jex =TE= (DayZ) replied to kreatura (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You don't need a vehicle other than a bike. Bikes are boss (push bikes not m/bikes). It doesn't take that long to cross the map on foot anyway and using vehicles is just giving yourself away (or your camp). We ditched using vehicles on out server a while back (we still have a couple and we have a no vehicle hording rule). Personally I'd just have us all outfitted with push bikes. Can't wait to set up an ambush on a car with a couple of MG's just for the shits. -
HOWTO: Use publicvariableval.txt to auto-kick players with hacked weapons
eibot replied to venthos's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I had only legit items on me while driving a vehicle. As soon as i pressed "ESC" I was kicked from the game. I tested this with several vehicles and was kicked as well. Some of the players on our server complained they lost everything in their inventory when they were kicked inside a vehicle and pressed escape. They spawned again at the same spot, but their inventory as well as vehicle was gone... Any ideas? Should I just remove all the horns from the list, since it is not a "leathal" weapons? -
Hackers...they never learn + amusing chatlog
Zephyrius replied to Zephyrius's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I hear ya. Unfortunately I feel standalone won't solve all problems. It's very sad though as I try to make server as fun for everybody as possible to discourage cheating. I even increased vehicle spawns and chance of them having repaired parts etc just so people would'nt be tempted to spawn in vehicles and whatnot. Plus with the map Lingor there is PLENTY of good weapons around. I dunno I feel once a hacker always a hacker. I even tried to reason with one the other night and he STILL hacked basically right after I warned him (this was after a script was used as well). It's really a bummer because I want my server to grow in popularity, and I feel everytime someone is doing well, it's just another hacker abusing the server to get ahead. Hurts not only fun but population and growth of game. -
I have just started up a new private hive password protected server, the reason for this is to get away from everyone on the server having AS50 Rangefinders and NVG's I want a more legit style of play with no duping or hacking. I also want it to be a 'bandit' server meaning everyone on the server is a bandit and will shoot on sight; this will hopefully provide for a more interesting game as it will make surviving much more difficult you won't just be able to run around the map free from harm cause there will always be someone on the lookout to kill you and steal your gear. Me and a group o friends play as a 'team' and we believe if there is multiple teams on the server it will make for long, hard combat and rivalry will start to form making the game more enjoyable and more to play for in my opinion. I have the vehicles set to 30 and we only control 2 and no helicopter to give other people a chance. We play on veteran difficulty and it is a English based server. Side channel will be on but english speaking only and use of mic over the side channel is not aloud. It Is up 24/7 with very active admins. If you reply to this post, inbox me or add my skype (william.cullum) and tell me why you want to join, if you're on your own or in a team and then how long you've been playing (if you're a noob or not) then I can give you the password to the server however if someone comes on I haven't given the server password to they will be instantly banned. Thanks for reading and I hope to see some teams soon. William.

UK-based newbie LFG. Bandit/Survivor - I don't care!
boxman80 replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have over 200 players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved. If you're interested check out or website @ www.bsbnetwork.com and try to hop on our Teamspeak 3 server and say "hi!" 212.187.246.58:9140 -

I think the vehicles are gone into the northern forests on 90% of the servers. I once actually found a bus in Stary Sobor, too bad one guy was ready to ambush me soon as he heard me go in the bus (It wasn't his bus, since it was still half-broken with no gas.)

European DayZ Community Servers by BR4INZ Squad
Leejjon replied to BR4INZ Chopper Bob's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Yeah, I've been playing here too and it's awesome, haven't seen any hackers. At some point we had a load of vehicles that it got a little boring, but now all three teams have a few vehicles so none of them is too overpowered. (And one day we will have your chopper!) -

It's a hacked vehicle, i would suggest blowing it or destroying the vehicles. Unless it's on a private hive i would suggest leaving the server.
-
so the other day i found two black SUV,s i took one but when i went on to the day Z wiki vehicles there was no sign of a black SUV does anyone know what car it was? unless it was just called an SUV but i doubt it was called that in game.

aussiestig replied to Sulii's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Clan [DZB] decided it would be cool to destroy a bunch of vehicles. There is pretty much no vehicles left on the server, so very soon we'll be doing a wipe of the server tents and vehicles for a fresh start. That'll mean vehicles will be at their spawn points, and there will be plenty of them. This isn't a win Basturds, more a showing of your maturity. -
My 1.7.2.5 patch notes
ZomboWTF replied to andrestander (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
i'd love seeing way more vehicles and parts spawning to fix them, for having stamina and the other stuff sadly, this would never happen, since the majority of the players allready think the game is "hard" if they dont get to fix the zombie movements in the standalone, i'll think twice about buying it
