Hey guys let me start off by saying i love your program. Unfortunately im in a bad situation, im an admin on a server and our server owner and co owner have been away for quite some time. Our server crashed yesterday and has finally come back up. Now our server has not shut down since (no scheduled restarts have happened, usually ever 4 hours). Now I was wondering if I shut down the server using Dart would I (1) be able to turn the server back on and (2) would it hurt anything with the server. Ive been told it might mess up vehicles, tents and loot. Im a little stumped right now kind of hard for me to do anything with limited permissions, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'll just start from the beginning (I'll highlight important stuff in yellow and I'll add a TL;DR) which began yesterday. I bought Arma II and CO from Steam. I came to your site and went to your NPD (New player Discussion) and went to the index of helpful threads. I used the install guide (video) one first, went through all of the things he said I needed to do. Installed the Arma II launcher, ect ,ect. When I try and log into the game now I get this: These are some of the errors I get: Addon 'dayz_anim' requires 'CA_Dubbing_Counterattack' - This happens when starting up the game through Steam and the Arma II launcher No entry 'bin\config.bin/Cfg.vehicles/Citizen1.scope'. -This comes up after the game starts in Steam and Arma II launcher You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.chernarus,rmod in both as well And this comes up every time I try to play on a server. Now since that way didn't work. I tried the just the regular install guide for steam and I still get the same errors. If someone could please help me out you don't know how much I would appreciate it. TL;DR Errors suck, followed video guide then steam install guide and neither are working for me, what do. I logged off this morning after looting someone's stuff and took one of their vehicles with me. A few hours later I want to log in and I get the message that I'm banned from the server and I can't join... Is the admin so childish that he bans people when they take his stuff or what? Aren't there regulations against this? I can honestly not think of any other reason for the ban than this. I've never hacked/scripted (although I carry some looted "soldier clothes" in my backpack which I've never used) nor have I ever killed anyone. Don't play on NL 52 I guess...

A ballon would probably be a method for a post apocalyptic society, but I don't think we're there yet. With still enough fuel and functional vehicles around it wouldn't make a lot of sense.

bump warning! This is a very sandbox-y thing to have in the game. Make it able to lift stuff and climbable and then leave it to the players to find some use for it. Same with the bulldozer. Likewise, it should be possible to equip the tractor with typical farming gear and some kind of pulling chains to pull vehicles, vehicle wrecks, containers and other stuff (train cart?).

Is the planetdayz server one of those with more vehicles than normally, or just non modified dayz?

i was thinking, what if somebody likes to kill zombies? how about add an air horn that would spwan in supermarkets. also I thought maybe you could add crashed police vehicles where you could get a siren or even a pistol? - Its just an idea........ - also im sorry if this idea has been said over and over :( ive been through about 3 pages and didnt see anything about it so eh........

Server seems to work fine on Lingor, problem seems to be confined to Chernarus... errors appear in the RPT when it starts to load vehicles. Still awaiting support from Vilayer...

hi. im 13, a really good combat rifleman, have read every page on the dayz wiki 3 times,have read sun tzus art of war 2 times, and am good at following orders. i do not have skype, cant get skype (IT HATES ME). im excellent with the m4a1 holo, and decent with every other gun but the ak-74 and the m1911. im good with any thing else. i also know how to fly a heli(not land it yet, but ill take the tutorial) and am good with most other vehicles. theres my application.

Nice idea...but complex. They would have to "redesign" the tire management system and it would need more effort than what it brings into the game. And it's pretty difficult to have working hardware still lying around, having vehicles that actually work is already a "miracle" as they don't need any further maintenance when beeing used, sometimes even abused. Aircraft either military or civilian are decaying much faster than some people think if they are not maintained every day even when not in use.

but the bags in che chopper inventory save 'em before the server restarts (thats what the save is for...) there are 5~ chopper spawns = 5 chopper for each server almost all of then get destroyed the first day (server restarts CAN prevent respawn) or are in the admin camp if you dissconnect in a chopper your char will be on the ground next time you log in if the server goes down vehicles will always reapear at the last save (if not wait for the second restart)

I like the idea of having police vehicles abandoned, would show that when the infected started infection others they Cherno police tried to stop them.

There are 2 main types of DayZ servers - main hive and private hive. Main hive servers are the 'official' servers, you progress will be carried across all of these servers only tents and vehicles are server specific. Private hive servers are 'unofficial' servers, your progress will only be saved on the individual server. These allow admin to edit the mission file and customise the rules a bit more. Sounds like you've been playing on private hive servers without realising it.

With dayz commander click all the options to eliminate wrong game versions and sort by ping. I think I might go with what Fraggle said. I have thus far been on public servers. Unfortunately every weekend on my current server (where I have 2 tents) every tent gets crushed and all vehicles get teleported to a single location... Private Servers don't have this problem as frequently I'd hope.

People want to retain ability to eat beans and drink coke :D :D Honestly all the extra vehicles etc take out the "desperation" and suddenly it's just sluggish fps which can't compete with BF3

You have any idea how much gas/diesel tank would consume? You woudnt get very far with it or you had stop for refuel very often, and its loud as hell.. police car, maybe but works there as any other... military vehicles except the cars are as usefull as the tank what comes to fuel consumption and loudness...I woudnt touch these things, only regular cars.. van/suv/pickup... And that overpaint looks wicked!
