    Interesting, I didn't catch that. Someone should post about this on Reddit. They already got the perfect solution in Arma3, so I don't understand why he is that helpless.

    Making night brighter would be a bad solution IMO. I've always been hoping they'd change the way the video gamma/brightness settings influence shadows at night. It would be better if the black level would clip at a certain distance around the flashlight, where the light dropoff is sort of passing a threshold level of what the eyes perception would be. This way you could influence from midtones upward, but everything too dark for the eyes would change from black to grey (or stay pitch black), without showing more detail. Would be awesome if they could make it work like in ARMA3, although I haven't seen it for real, it seems to be perfect.   6. It's truly awesome. But it reminds me of something. I've always been hoping them to change the way the video brightness setting influences details at night. Because in the mod, it isn't actually necessary at all to get the nightvision goggles. You can just tweak the brightness. And if you don't, others probably do (guess most do it) which makes playing at a realistic setting senseless.   9. Right, the count is steadily increasing. Wondering if they need to be updated to the latest revision in order to be ready for the release. Anyway, the hypetrain is frozen and needs a LOT of coal to get started. And I still think (and hope otherwise) that they won't do it on a Friday.

  12. Wouldn't a Friday release be a bad idea? On the weekend there are too many people, with too much time and everybody wants to get into the game at once. Even if the game would be ready now, I think they are going to wait until Monday.

  15. I'm impressed. I agree, this is the IDEAL way to do it. Making the project tasks more transparent like this indeed doesn't leave many questions, does it. Love how you can view the content of each task. But something like this is the exception rather than the rule...sadly. To BI's defense, although looking pale in contrast to this, there is to say that they are doing alot better than most developers. And, I don't know about the Rust developers, but I'd prefer a mix between communicative style through forums, reddit, twitter and such a task schedule. However, THEN they'd invest too much time with blablabla instead of writing code and getting sh*t done. :D Conclusion: WHEN Rocket communicates like in the past weeks, all is fine!

In every game I've played with ragdoll physics, including Arma 3, it just looks and feels like the bodies are just falling 3D models. It's hard to describe, but the clothes don't move or ripple. They just fall lightly and it's a huge turn-off for me. Sure the movement in a game isn't as detailed as it could be, but at least it looks like a conscious decision made by the character I'm controlling. The animation is based off of real human movement. Not a really solid body falling to the ground like everything was plastered together and then given perfectly frictionless GI Joe action figure joints. Regardless of my opinion on how it LOOKS, I say that this should be one of the last things that should be implemented. The actual functionality of the game is much more important IMO. [–]rocket2gunsRocket [score hidden] 43 minutes ago The main reason for ragdoll in DayZ is not bullets (objects don't look that great when shot, the bullet doesn't move the body much) - but melee based death and hits. With our melee hit detection, we can move the body and its skeleton in very cool ways. So the ragdoll looks beautiful in this scenario.

  21. It will release when everybody is happy and the game is ready, which could happen any time from now. :o Seems like they are testing the fixes for the last showstoppers? Perhaps, if it all goes well, it will release without a warning? EDIT: Tuesday, 10th December 2013 will happen in Czekoslowakia in 35 minutes...

  24. It's wrong IN MY OPINION. I think I made that clear in my post. I don't understand why you are accusational and offensive, but your insultive manners speak for themselves. You're acting like a baby, because you seemingly can't tolerate other opinions but your own. All I wanted is to have a constructive discussion to see where I stand with my opinion and because I was curious to see what others think, but apparently that isn't possible. I'm done wasting my time here.
  25. Again a logical fallacy. Just because it's fictional and because we don't know the back story means that we should allow ANYTHING? Wouldn't you agree that there should be limits as to not adversely affect plausability and turn the game into a silly and pathetic phantasy shooter? For me, putting Payday masks in is a dubious decision, as I couldn't take the game as seriously while being surrounded by Payday robbers. It starts with a Payday mask and ends with alien weaponry, UFOs and exploding super tank zombies... IMO there should be more things to which you can relate IRL instead of letting fantasies run freely. There are plenty games already that allow for that. I think in the end it all comes down to the question: How much fiction can we allow, before the game can't be taken seriously anymore? Am I really that alone with my opinion? :o
