You can still do the launch options thing. Right click on the short cut (it has to be a shortcut. If you don't have one, find the arma 2 oa folder and find thje Arma2oa exe and create a shortcut) for Arma 2 oa. You should a text box with the word "target" beside it. Put -mod=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\ArmA 2;EXPANSION;ca after all of the text in the box and save. after that, try running the game. -

The way I see it, this is just a basic skeleton. In other words, we keep it skill and button press based, but then we modify it to fit DayZ from there. -

It's either hackers, which can be avoided by going on a whitelisted private hive (http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/92982-community-private-hive-server-listing/) Or you need to learn the hotspots where other players tend to hang out. -

I kinda like the idea. Like every idea, it needs work. The main thing I like about it is that it's not a QTE. As long as we keep QTE's out of it, I think I'm good. The main thing that worries me is that a player who has low ping might have the upper hand over someone with high ping. -

Post your specs (all of them) int the can I run it thread, because the guys over there know what they're talking about better than I do. I would help, but there are some things that confuse me and I wanna be sure I don't steer you in the wrong direction. -

I was skeptical, because something similar to this has been discussed before and it was passed off as "having your story told to you". However, I woudn't mind having some sort of recap, or proof of my exploits for friends and stuff. Like others said, it needs to be blocked from you downloading it for a couple hours or so and doesn't need to reveal the shooters location. -

That'll do great. 8gbs, by the way, is more than enough for any game today. You can run on high with 35-45 fps. One more thing: post stuff like this is the can I run it thread.

Oh wait, no you HAVE to delete your current CD key first. Do your research first before you do anything. Use google and check out some stuff there.

I'd try googling it first, but I think you can delete your CD key in the registry then buy a game with your current account. Maybe. I'm not sure. Google it.

Zombie Movements for dayz standalone , IMPORTANT!!

Slow zombies? No. It's been discussed multiple times. First off, you don't like the animations. Those will be fixed in standalone. Second, while slow zombies might be kinda cool, couldn't we just, I don't know.... run? Third, that many zombies isn't exactly plausible for DayZ's engine, standalone or otherwise. Finally, DayZ is going to have a zombie lifecycle, meaning new zombies start out fast, and older zombies get slower. -

Try making a backup through steam itself then copying it over to your new computer. If that doesn't work, wait for standalone.

And what about when a server happens to go down, or you have to switch servers because of high ping? Or you wanna play with some buddies who play on different servers? No. -

I'm gonna have to say no. First off, its not realistic. Second, it just doesn't fit with DayZ. Sorry. It would be better and whole lot more dynamic of there was no faction system whatsoever.

Qte's? No. Why not have an actual fight that tales skill rather than button mashing? Why not have certain actions (punch, kick, etc...) assigned to certain keys instead?
