You're probably doing it wrong. If you wanna be friendly, don't run straight towards the guy shouting, "FRIENDLY!!! I'M FRIGGIN' FRIENDLY DON'T SHOOT!!!!!". You have to stay behind cover and make sure you have the advantage. If you don't have any leverage over the guy, don't approach him.

I sort of like it, although it would be really annoying if you found some awesome glasses then you find out all you see is orange when you wear them.

Yeah, I'd risk it. I don't have much to lose. Even if I were fully geared, I'd have him drop his gun and set some morphine down for him. But as hetstaine said, it'd be a good idea to get his story first. -
Private servers aren't handled by the DayZ dev team. This was most likely a one-time glitch on that specific server, but if it persists, contact the server owners. Also, welcome to the forums. Its nice to see a newbie who's first words aren't "here's tenn hundrd bagzilkon suurgestins" or "Omg HALP HALP HALP!!!1".

You see, for a mod, anything other than Arma's engine just isn't practical. Rocket would have had to custom make the map, then add in vehicles, then add in zombie AI, then add in bullet physics, then custom make the weapons, and the models, and the inventory. He'd have to add in a lot. That's why I'm saying it wouldn't be possible on another engine. As for Battleye... well, I'm pretty sure it is the only anti-cheat that would work with Arma. Arma allows scripts to be run fairly freely because this allows all sorts of dynamic things to happen. Battleye is basically having to fidure out which scripts are being run legally and illegally. It's like swimming up a waterfall. If we added in something like, say, Punkbuster, everyone would get banned because, whether you play legit or not, your computer still runs scripts. -
No, it's the computer. 3.2 Ghz isn't good for Arma (its one of the most ridiculously CPU intensive games out there), and the 6800 is a mid-to-low range card. If it makes you feel better, I have a GTX 680 and a I5-3570 and I still can't max out.

You might wanna educate yourself before you post stuff like that. The Arma engine is the only engine that a mod like DayZ could have worked on, and the Anti-cheat is doing a very good job for the task it was given. -
Rocket said that you will be able to punch, but that was a LOOOONG time ago, so that could be changed.
