15 FPS on dayz, 50 fps on arma 2?

Join a different server. This happened to me once. I found a secure public hive, but then the makers of it stopped caring about it. Because they didn't bother to make sure it was running very good, my FPS dropped to 15. In short: Find a new home server.

I get like 10 frames on DayZ?

    Just happy to help.

I get like 10 frames on DayZ?

Your PC isn't that great, but you should be doing better, so yes, it's the server. Ping isn't what's causing it by the way. My internet sucks, so I play at around 300 ping at a stable framerate. My advice? Stay away from any servers that say "max vehicles!".

I get like 10 frames on DayZ?

This is caused by certain servers that aren't restarted regularly or are poorly maintained. You can join high population servers, but you have to find a good one.
  6. Personally, I'd like the game to be more based on player skill. If we had to figure out what was wrong with a car ourselves instead of just looking at a little meter, or had to figure out how to fix up an injured person, then there would be no need for in-game "skills". By giving players worth, we give characters worth.

That's really good. I just wish it had survivors on it instead of soldiers.

    Multiple CHaactes

All right, you're not really getting it. A hive refers to a database. There are two types of hives. The public hive, and the private hive. If you enter a public hive server, then that character can be accessed from any server that uses the public hive. If you were to join another server that used the public hive, you would have the same character. Private hives are databases that only apply to one server. You cannot join one private hive, then go to another expecting to have the same character. There can be multiple private hive servers per map, meaning you could have multiple characters for Chenaurus. If were to go to Lingor, the concept is still the same. You would have a brand new character.

    Multiple CHaactes

No. As long as you on to a different private hive, you will have a different character, regardless of which map.
  10. As long as they aren't always hostile, then yes. It always annoys me in games when animals are portrayed as enemies that always try to kill you, when many times they'd just run away.

If you ever feel up to it, I'd love to help you find some parts for that. That is, if you don't already know how to build one.

  14. Hi guys. Recently I've been seeing a lot of ban appeals, or more specifically, Battleye global bans. These threads completely break the rules and ignore all of the stickies in the ban appeal section, which explains the hostile attitude the community generally has towards the people posting those topics. However, I have noticed something else. In those threads, it's pretty common to see a reply that says something like, "Battelye doesn't make mistakes" or, "It's impossible to get falsely banned". In reality, it is possible to get falsely banned. Not only that, but Battleye isn't known for good support, making it difficult to get unbanned. "But what's your proof?" you say? My proof is a conversation I had a little while back with someone who was falsely banned. Basically, this guy had made a thread called "Honestly just wanting to know why". In it, he asked the community what could have caused him to get a global ban. He got responses such as: Are you certain your "Little Brother" did not do it ? or you left your room for a minute and your "friend downloaded something" or you met a "hacker who wanted to look in your computer" Global Bans just don't happen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy not playing Dayz Battleye didn't help either. He emailed Battleye support and received no response. I PM'ed him this (please excuse the typos, i had my old keyboard at the time): Hi, I saw your post about your global ban. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do except contact Battleye and appeal. The only explanation I can think is that you tried to download a "FPS booster" program of some sort, or downloaded a hack, or something along those lines, or someone who has access to your computer stole the CD key. I believe that it is possible to temporarily have access to online play by deleting your CD key. I have no idea how to do this as I have never been banned before, so use google. Google is your friend. Here was the response. hey man thanks you sound more of a reasonable person i contacted battle and after a few emails i was unbanned and they said it was a honest mistake and have given me an extra copy thanks for the aid tho :) See? Battleye isn't as perfect as we thought. Not only that, he had to email Battleye multiple times to even get a response. The reason I posted this was to get people to stop following Battleye blindly, and to make people stop immediately writing these guys off as hackers, and actually consider the fact that Battleye actually does make mistakes. If you read this, thanks for reading! Sorry about the wall of text.

I remember Rocket talking about re-doing zombie animations, but not player animations! I thought he was just gonna re-do a couple of player animations.

    Guys, Battleye isn't perfect.

If you realize that Battleye does make mistakes, and have occasional bugs, then you're not the one this post is directed towards.
  18. And then there's people like me with a GTX 680 who struggle to get 30 FPS in cities... without even maxing out.

    Guys, Battleye isn't perfect.

Like I said, false bans are extremely rare.

    Guys, Battleye isn't perfect.

Yeah. It was either to replace his old one or to give it to a buddy, but he wasn't very clear on which one.

    Guys, Battleye isn't perfect.

I realize that Battleye doesn't falsely ban often. But it does make mistakes, and Battleye has even admitted it before. Telling some to buy a new CD key event though they didn't hack or get their key stolen is not a good idea.
  22. No he didn't. He said that he couldn't less that you hated him for an avatar, then you called him a little girl.
  23. Stop throwing needless insults. It doesn't make you cool. As for the optimization, Rocket has said that game will be more stable, which I think means you won't get the frame drops when you enter a city.

    Guys, Battleye isn't perfect.

The posts from some members in the ban appeal section told me the exact opposite.
  25. colekern

    Guys, Battleye isn't perfect.

I think you misunderstood my post. I know all of that. I've directed people towards Battleye before, knowing there was nothing I could do (I also did it without the hostile attitude). The point of my post was simply to make people realize that Battleye isn't a perfect system.
