  1. Its impossible to allow switching while running because no animations for it exist.

Make the shelcasings stay until restart.

Sorry to say it, but this is most likely impossible. It would make the server have to work extremely hard to keep up with the amount of items in the game.

    Player activated environment sounds

I'm no programmer, but no, I don't think this would an FPS drop. Considering that it would do one calculation and that's it, I think it's good

CANNOT GET DAY Z TO LET ME JOIN SERVER

Did you run Arma 2 and Arma 2 is before trying to play DayZ?

    Weapon damage general discussion.

This would be a good alternative.
  6. Spray a zombie in the eye and he stumbles.

Speaking of animations, do you think we might ever improved reload animations or, say, pump action and bolt action animations? It seems like you could do it, considering you got an entire clothing system working.
  8. Teams should never be forced. I think that once base building is implemented, these factions will spring up naturally. There's also going to be more content and more of an incentive to work together.

    Progression System in DayZ Standalone

Except you're completely ignoring the points we bring up about the standalone. It won't be like that. It will be much more in in-depth and have much more content. To me, it seems like this isn't your type of game. It sounds like it would be better for you to find an actual zombie survival RPG, like State of Decayl or Project Zomboid rather than trying to turn DayZ into something it's not.
  10. Or, if you can examine items, it says the gun is unusually lightweight and it feels cheap.
  11. What happened to the pilot?
  12. Mine are all combat: I was new. It may have even been my first life ever (if I remember right). I was down near the coast. I'd gotten a Enfield, a Makarov, a map, some beans, and Pepsis and Cokes. The basics. I had managed to get trapped on the second floor of a barn with two or three zombies on the stairs. I was badly injured. I had my Enfield out and I was curious. I fired. My gosh, I wasn't expecting that. Seriously, every zombie for miles was right in front of me. They seemed endless. I wasted all my ammo in my pistol AND Enfield before I went down. My second story: I was still fairly new and had the basic supplies, just like my last story. I was trying to do my first Cherno loot run, but I managed to get myself trapped on the roof of a three story building. The only way down was a ladder that had five or six zombies at the bottom. Common sense for an experienced player would be to hide and wait for them to leave or toss a few cans to distract them. But I was new. I got impatient. I climbed down, planning to drop down and run when I got close to the ground. *CRACK* As soon as I hit the ground, my legs snap. I lose so much blood that I go unconscious. I inevitably die very quickly.

    Progression System in DayZ Standalone

Players would have to work together to secure their bases, which adds the potential for factions and similar things. As for cars, I'm seriously doubting that they'll STILL explode when you hit a bush in standalone. Also, its been stated that the goal is to add so much stuff to do that a player would have to play for a very long time to do it all. Adding in a "progression system" would do nothing for DayZ. It would turn it in to a regular RPG where you do nothing but grind for hours and hours to level up. Yay?
  14. Exactly the kind of novelty items I was thinking of.

    DayZ Devblog 22nd February 2013

Well, hopefully, something other than fluid would be there. As for the poison ivy, yes, and you will need rash cream for that.
  16. You'd probably be better off with finding some sort of DayZ server creator forum or something, because most people don't know how to make a server here.
  17. Exactly. More stuff like that.

SOMEWHERE TO STORE ITEMS IN THE STANDALONE

I've gotta say no. Not only is it an easily exploitable mechanic (you could just camp the entrances and kill everyone), it doesn't fit DayZ.
  19. colekern

    How are helicopters realistic?

    I rarely use autohover.

    Progression System in DayZ Standalone

I've gotta say no. One of the things that makes DayZ special is that there's no artificial progression systems. Also, the way DayZ is going to keep players interested is through constant updates, and adding in stuff like base building and car customization.

    Advanced (zombie) infection in SA

Rocket already said that you're immune. My guess is that the reason for this is that in real life the virus would have to be airborne in order to destroy the world because otherwise it would spread to slowly.
