Here's something I made a while back for a suggestion about making the life of a complete noob easier. I just kind of messed around with the controls to make something that might be remotely similar to the SA. Might as well post it here: Obviously, a lots changed since then, but I just posted it here for fun.

If I had a nickel for one of these types of posts... But really, this has been discussed to DEATH. They're taking a different approach in the standalone and the mod is trying to do a better job too. -

So what, DayZ is just supposed to have unlimited resources? Euphoria cost 1 MILLION dollars and ten percent of ALL profits. That's a HUGE amount of money that would be better spent on gameplay. -

You really should research a little bit before posting nonsense like that. That only did they raise the original budget of DayZ, but Rocket has specifically stated that he does NOT want a whole lot of people playing the initial release. -

If you spawn in Kamenka, look away from the coast then take a right and follow the main road. -

As orlock said, there's nothing we can do if the admins use an out of date CBL. You aren't our customer either. DayZ is free mod for Arma 2. -

I actually have to agree with you for once Gummy. I really don't like the animations. I wouldn't say they're awful but they sure as heck aren't great. -

Hmm. I remember Dean talking about how he didn't want many people in the initial alpha. He said something about wanting a small, dedicated group who would actually want to help improve the game rather tan just play or something like that. Now we have some footage of the latest build, the build that could very well be the initial release. And, let's face it, it was rough- the animations were bad, the zombies were to stupid to be convincing, the inventory worked about half the time, and, heck, sometimes you could even open doors. It was bad at best. But do anyone else have the slightest suspicion that this may have been done on purpose? Think about it: a lot of people are going to be turned off by how rough it looks. Only those who are really excited about DayZ will play it. I'd like to post this quote by rocket: -

Well, it definitely looks like an alpha. Zombies jumping in the wrong direction or running through doors, unopenable doors, but, hey, guess that's what an alpha is for, right? -

Hey, welcome back! DayZCommander is better than ever. No, there isn't. Not if you join a whitelisted private hive. I have a good one if you need one. I don't know. There were some new vehicles added. The Hero/Bandit system is still there unchanged, but the debug monitor was replaced with a journal. On some servers, but it's mostly private hives now.
