    well like I said, "I would suggest the following, Military Infected are not as far along the infection as civ's" It makes sense that the military would give their troops more meds to keep them fighting longer, and that those meds might slow the infections progress. I think its funny 90% of people seem to agree that the zeds are far to easy, and yet the second anyone makes a good suggestion on how to improve them a flood of people arrive to say no, do you all think the infection just insta zombies people ? there needs to be varied stages of infection with different resulting conditions for those at that stage. Having a soldier infected enough that hes confused cant take orders and shoots on sight makes a lot of sense, they would be confused, scared and shooting players in the face I love it, all you pussies that want to hug zombies should piss off and leave the big boys to take them down. Raiding the NWAF needs to be something epic, not a chore you just have to do to maintain your ammo stocks, blah blah whistle while I run around collecting ammo with 200 stupid LAME! zombies running round behind me unable to stop me, yeah that's an amazing situation, and way cooler than actually having to fight your way into the base, defend it while you get your loot and then leave before they finally get a good shot on you. o.O
  2. just kinda looking to open up some thought on this topic, recently I came across a player with [medic] in front of thier name, when I asked if it was a clan he replied "No , I'm a medic do you need help?" which was the reply I was looking for with my blood on just over 1k. I was wondering if we as a community could possibly come up with other suffix's that possibly describe the role that player is playing. for example if those who simply want to live and be happy , and help others with bloodbags etc clearly have started to put [medic] in front of their name, but what other roles could easily be described within two little square brackets. I can think of a few obvious examples. [bandit] - clearly some one that will kill you and take all your shit. [hunter] - some one that gathers food from animals ? [c-sniper] - Counter Sniper, hunts players killing noobs [sniper] - Sniper , kills anything in sight via sniping. I know some of those are kinda DUH!, just threw them out to get the topic moving, and before anyone says anything about the humanity system and skins showing you what people are, that does not and will never work, without my ghillie suit in I am a bandit, but that in no way reflects my play style which is now currently helping people out, so some one looking at my skin would think oh shit, when in fact i would be more likley at the moment to bloodbag them and then save them from the zombies bashing their face in. Would others be willing to use a suffix to describe their play style, and if so, which would you suggest and what play style do you play. changing a suffix is easier than changing in game humanity, but at least its more descriptive and accurate if the player is honest.
  3. not sure I like any of this, I would be game for the food / water to be limited IF a player would then have the ability to grow their own food, and farm their own water through water pumps or wells or something, but limiting this resource is just stupid the end result is simply that it runs out and everyone dies.
  4. is that confirmed ? it was about the only place some one could put a tent and actually HIDE it from others, just about every other above ground location is just far to exposed and far to easily spotted from ground and the air.

First of all, I should say that my main role in game is that of a Sniper, my current load out is SVD Camo, Guilli , with a M4a Acog as my Assault Rifle, and a G17 for my pistol, I used to have the M9 SD , but lost it, and went with the G17 when given the chance, I find its accuracy is more important than its noise. Kills vs Hits :- Most of the Sniper Rifles take more than one shot to kill, this forces people into the AS50 and M107, I think this is a bit stupid and bottle necks people into those two guns when the other rifles should also be killing in one shot, but I understand that some guns need to be weeker to offer progression. I suggest and would like that all other rifles get a buff to their damage, at the moment they all do around 8k, I would like the 8K to be the starting damage and then have the damage go up per Rifle like the example bellow. M14 AIM - 8k CZ 550 - 9k DMR - 10k M24 - 10.5k SVD 11k in Addition a single shot damage over =>9k should instantly knock out the player it hits, if a sniper hits some one their going to get knocked on their ass no one is just going to run it off like they can at the moment, so knock them out for 30 seconds. Thermals :- I would like ALL Themrals removed from the game, as a sniper and regardless of where I am, as soon as I strap on that Thermal As50 that's in my tent, I am good enough that I can take out anyone from 1100 meters and under, regardless of their position, still, prone, running, spend a few hours on the gun range mod and if your a sniper in other games and have the gaming experience it does not take long to really dial in that gun, and your just taking people out all over the place, its far to over powered. Night Vision :- With the removal of Thermals, I would enable all sniper rifles to work with night vision, the DMR and Aim already do, the others should as well. I love Sniping in the game, and hope some of these changes get taken on board, I know some of you might argue with some of my suggestions but you have to ask yourself, if I shoot you with a high caliber rifle do you really think your going to be able to keep running, or even still be standing after it, truth is you would be either dead , knocked out, or on the floor screaming in pain and yelling for a medic. Also I know the thermal issue might cause some people to be annoyed, but really guys, playing at night is supposed to be scary, your vision is supposed to be hindred in some way, but having thermal just defeats that and removes that element of sneak, and surprise that we often try to use. Anyway, I know this should probably be in the suggestions, but im sure its been asked for already and to me its more of a open opinion on my view and thoughts on sniping and what I hope the stand alone might bring. so what do you think, I would love any reply to state if you are a sniper, please consider yourself a sniper if a sniper rifle is your primary gun and the one you use 99% of the time. other than pistols, your not a sniper if you just happen to have an as50 in your tent, we ALL have as50's in our tents lol.

    I take it back I would have called myself a murderer in the past then not an asshole lol. Hero I guess would best suit my current playstyle if we were to use your list. As for bandits not wanting to tag their names, I think you might be surprised at the number of people that would happily tag themselves as a bandit, I know I would have if I was still playing as one, a tag on your name is not going to make you any more or less visible in a bush so who cares if they open their player list and see [bandit] in front of my name half the people will stay away from me the others will come for a fight, either way the bandit gets what he wants, kills and players to loot. really considering adding [hero] in front of my name now tho.

Sorry but your way wrong, show me another human being in the world that has been shot at 1000 meters by ANY sniper rifle and did not get either killed or instantly knocked out, the number of people you could find would be so infinitesimally small I would need the LHC to read their names. Guns kill, people. but an SVD, DMR anything under an M107 needs to take a number of shots before they down a player how is that IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM realistic, I am sorry but thats BULLSHIT and nothing more than the devs trying to balance out their power based on perceived value to the player base, ie the more damage the better the gun. An SVD Camo or a DMR will kill you instantly and blow a hole in your chest the size of a grown mans fist if shot and hit , as for having a better aim. SNIPERS DO NOT AIM FOR THE HEAD. They aim for the body where they know they have the highest chance of sucess in hitting their target, only an IDIOT is going to go for a head shot over 800 meters, its stupid to even try, specially on a moving target. Bottom line is that sniper rifles need more damage its stupid to get shot 2 or 3 times by any sniper rifle.

    not really sure what I would put in front of my name, gun for hire [GFH] or something like that, my playstyle used to be [AssHole] kill on sight take everything and run away laughing my ass off but i have changed how I play the game and have fallen into more of a support role, I like the idea of hunting down bandits, and getting my bandit kill count as high as possible these days, so some one new spawn asking for help will get it, but a bandit runs past me and its axe to the face lol. [b-Killer] or [Hunter] referring to hunting down bandits, dunno there are lots of little tags you could come up with, I think the idea was adopted beyond the emerging [Medic] Tag then there should be some standardization to it.

    Rocket has talked already about how he would like to introduce more of a class type thing into the game, he said in one interview a doctor should be good at giving blood bags or a mechanic or guy who knows about cars should be good about vehicles repair. He's also mentioned about adding more tools to diversify the players gear, I was thinking why not combine these two needs into a single system. First of all, we have ten tool slots, what if we only had 8 tool slots, and 2 specialists slots. These two new slots would use the following tools. Medic Kit A kit that allows a medic to splint a broken leg without morphene, give pain killers without a box, and bandage people without the need of bandages, CANNOT BE USED ON SELF. Bonus to self would be faster actions on self, so bandages would work twice as fast on self. Spanner Set Mechanic , can take raw meterials and make vehicle parts from them, cant find a fuel tank get a mechanic to make one for you. Bonus to self, can repair vehicles twice as fast. Demo Kit Comes with a small C4 kit, can be used to blow open doors, blow open wire fencing , tank traps , sandbags, able to place trip wires and small IED's to take out or make anti personal or zombie traps. Example, Bear Trap + Grenade = landmine. Bonus, can defuse traps and get traps as periff dots on screen to make them easier for them to spot. Black ops Night Vision Kit, a kit that allows Night Vision on any and all devices, would work with all sniper rifles and guns, and would not require an equipped night vision. Bonus, Night Vision DUH!. Sniper Comes with a Ghillie Suit in their specialist slot, allows them to take it on or off like a toggle, snipers would toggle it on in the woods and off in the city, this would replace the need to keep your civil clothing and its something most real snipers do anyway, this just makes it more of a mechanic and role . Bonus, the suit. others would have to find it. Soldier Army Vest, would come with a bonus bullet resistant vest which would add an armour bonus to those who ware it, this would be used by players who seek out close quarters combat. Bonus , the extra armour. and a cool Army Helmet. Scavenger A bonus to bag space, just a few slots, 3 or 4, as well as a scavange ability, they would be able to go upto any burnt out vehicle of which the map has millions and then salvage stuff from them, would be random what they would get, could be anything from fuel tanks, to wheels, to glass, or wire that would be used for wirefencing or etcetc... Spotter A sniper spotter, would gain a new tool in the form of Thermal and Night Vision capable range finders, would allow a spotter to locate a target for a sniper or a close quarters attack force and give their team accurate intel on their location. Bonus, The range finder of course. What I think would be cool then after death a player could then pick their role, and the only thing that would change would the the last two tool slots being taken up by one of the above specalist items, players on death could then chop and change their role to suit the current game play. Most of the above alreasy happens in game in one from or another with the exception of the demo, scavenger, the rest already happens, this system would simply make it more into a role and class system. I for example as a sniper would pick the spotter class, I can find my own ghuillie suit but would love that range finder all the time, or a good combination might be a sniper whos also a demo, you lay up to snipe and put some traps at your back. or be THAT guy with the 249 and the Soldier kit running around blasting everyone with a blaze of bullets. anyway ... flame away.

    I dont I fkn hate it, its SHITE, worst map ever. its nothing more than a pvp map with all pvp items in a single spot, its a snipers paradise, just run to the air field spend an hour getting full gear and amo, run out into the desert, go prone, and spend the rest of the day just killing everyone else as they ALL come to the same single fkn air field.

I was wondering if we could get an official response on the status of the dog patch , and the other stuff that will be added and fixed along with them, as it stands right I think I as well as many others have simply fallen on the assumption that the patch will not be released on the mod, and that it will come with the stand alone in another few months. can some one from bis, or rocket give us some idea behind the time line ? , I know dogs have sparked real debate but their an aspect of the game I am really looking forward to, and would love to know or have some concept of the time frame of its release.

    Vehicle Creation System

    Rocket has already said that hes adding a vehicle crafting system into the game, no one really knows what that means tho. It's assumed that a new car will be craftable (dune buggy style like mad max?) from a number of scrap metal, four wheels, engine, and possibly some other parts not in the game yet , like wires , steering wheel, lights, breaks, etc. yeah I only hope that when its added, they allow the builder a way to lock it a little, possibly via a key that goes into that players tool belt, and if some one else wants to take it from him then they need to kill him, and if he logs out for a week then tough shit its not a normal spawning car its one he built if others want one badly enough they can make their own.

    this is a cool idea, and adds to those already out there about repairing elektro power station , it could be a task taken on by the server as a whole during the day so that the night time has more light. have my beans sir.
  14. Sorry if the spelling is wrong but I think you all know what map I am talking about.. In Short, in a city map there is NOTHING in the city for the players, the loot spawns are mental and totally out of whack with the game the end result is that EVERYONE heads into the south air field where they can get everything they could possibly need in one run, after that there is no reason for them to go back to the city they just sit and shoot people. I think each District needs to have a shop, a fire station and at least 10 or more houses that you can enter and that spawn loot, this will allow people to stay within a district rather than FORCING them to goto a stupidly large and over geared airfield. I also think the vehicle spawn points should be moved so their ALL inside the city and not have most vehicles spawn in the outer locations. Finally a central location in the map which would be the hot spot, something like Stary Sober, which would then be the main draw into the center of the city to get the best loot. Finally you need to put Palm forest around the outside of the city, I know its supposed to be a desert, but the whole west side should be forest due to the water, the east side could be all as it is, desert and dry which gives the players more play options. Right now the map is a very bad design for DayZ, the Air Field totally destroys the flow of the region and funnels ALL players into it and giving them no reason to leave it, even the Cherno North West Airfield which I think is just the right size pales in comparison to the size of this Air Field, it needs to be removed from the map, possibly adding a small number of barracks to the south west corner of the city in those open space between the roads or in the central part of the map. As it is right now this map is broken, and in my opinion not suitable for DayZ standalone.

    If your not gona give him yours I will give him mine... My only change would be that the train be automated, there ar hundrewds of automated train systems around the world, I am sure the Russians have some as well so its not all that big a deal, and it would solve that HUGE spawning problem, Kamenka you say, fine just roll up to the little train station and wait for the train to hitch a ride into Elektro or Cherno. Hope this gets added to 2.0 As for repairing it, I hope they dont make it a chore, if they force it to be repaired hackers will simply blow it up all the tme to greif the server, as a train is something for the whole server to use and not just one group, I hope they make it immune to damage. its a train they drive through tricks, tanks, and cars without even a slight nudge because of their huge mass and momentum , and I cant see them ever making the tracks destructible which their not right now so would be stupid if you could blow up the train but not the track.. Have my Beans.
  18. Item : Cleaning Kit Size : 16 Slots Rules : Cannot be put in Tents or Vehicles or Bags, only held in main inventory. Use : Restores a Gun to full working order cleaning it of any dirt or rust. Found: Military Loot (medium drop rate some where between makarov and sandbags) Gun Rust/Dirt/Ware : Each time you fire your gun, it should lose a little durability, this sounds like an mmo thing but its a real life thing, guns need regular maintenance to keep them working correctly, we should have this modeled, if a player goes to long without cleaning their gun then it should break and jam and become a trash item to be thrown away. Guns should also take Durability loss on player death, the guns take hits during a gun fight as well, so only make sense that if the player dies, his guns should lose a little as well. If this gun state is saved appart from the tent data or vehicle data then a guns state should not save and dupe back to perfect on a reset, this will help get rid of a lot of the duped guns in the game as people use them and then fail to find cleaning kits. It will also add another stress point for the player, do I pick up this cleaning kit which will take up my full inventory and that I cant put in a tent or bag to take back to base and use on my nearly broken AS50 , or do I use it on my current weapon , or do I leave it and look for a new gun. :: WHY :: - lets face it , the risk of death is gone while tents respawn loot on a reset, people dont mind death because they know they can just run back to their tents and get all their stuff back, we need to really bring back that risk, bring back the need to get out in the world and look for more guns and ammo. and not just sit in cherno or a tent farm.

    Clan Flags.

    How about an Item in the game , a Flag and Flag Pole this item would take the clan infor from the clan xml file of the person holding the item. When a person places a flag in the ground, it claims that area, 30 or 40 meter radius around the flag as the property of that clan, once placed the clan would fill that area with their things, tents, vehicles, fencing etc. If a player who does not belong to that clan logs into the server inside this radius then the server would push the player out to 40 meters away from the flag this can be a fixed spot chosen by the server or random around the radius. Clans will then be able to build proper camps, fencing them off and protecting them , other players would then need to correctly assault the camp , taking down any defensive walls and fencing and killing the players before getting at any fat loot in the tents, this would instantly stop server hopping into defended places. If you place a flag in a building would be cool if the building then got the flag on the roof with the clan logo, would look mint I think, people would look at it learn the clans logo and learn who the people are.

    think you got the wrong idea, the flag simply prevents people from SPAWNING into that area, the fences stop them WALKING in. I think we can all agree that right now when we put down fencing and sandbags and tank traps to stop some one or a group of people moving into our base we cant stop them moving to another server where our stuff is not protected move into our base and then jump back to our server avoiding out defenses , this flag would simply stop them from doing that it is not a magical barrier .
  21. Our server went Private vilayer, and I was wondering if there is a setting or config or something we can turn on that will show up bottom left to say who shot who. So is this possible, I know the game bugs out every now and then and shows this info by mistake so I hope there is a way to turn it on all the time. thanks in advance.

    Clan Flags.

    would be easy for them to simply prevent the flag from being placed in key locations like prevent them on , in or near any military loot spawns that would stop the tents in fire stations that we see so much of right now, the station in elektro on my server was always fenced off and had a group of players in it all the time just camping and pushing the loot. this system is the best solution to public hives and private allowing players to just server hop past those hard earned and hard worked for defensive walls.
  23. your server hopping into a base as a reason for private hives is pointless as all they really need to do is prevent a player from logging into a server within 50 meters of a player placed structure or hell even 10 meters would be enough the server would just nudge the player trying to hop 10 meters away from the camp fence preventing them or anyone else for server hopping into a camp and thats a far easier solution to implement and test. have no idea why something like this was not done in the first place.

    Tents unpacking.

    Players need to be able to pack and unpack a tent IF it was them who placed it, this is something that needs to be available to players regardless of death, YES I KNOW, the guy died blah blah blah, but this is a game not the real world and there is limited space. Without making this change the servers soon fill up with millions of tents that people simply cannot move even if they wanted to. I think the OWNER of say a sandbag should be able to take it down, pick it up and then move it if they want to, if some random player comes along they should be able to take it down, but not get the bags to move. This will allow players to move things around and help prevent servers from becoming tent farms. and having a million fence or sandbag covering the exact same bit of road.
  25. Yeah they said a load of times already they cant lock the mod down without breaking tons of other mods, and im sure all those other modders would be pissed if they did that. I just hope stand alone stamps out the hacks fully.
