I vote for YES, on the condition that it feels fluid and not the way it does not, stupid shit like banging you gun barrel on walls, and other dumb things like being blocked by a door because your left foot is catching on the edge, stuff like that is so stupid its unreal, a human would automatically and without thinking adjust and pass the object, this is something that players should not even be aware of in a game. keep it fluid. and you have my yes vote. make it a glitchy buggy catching on everything mess and I wont want to play.

I think we should explore a faster day an night cycle, we all enjoy the real time setting but for a lot of people it means missing out on any day/night play, possibly due to long work hours or school. I think we should work from a rotation that's 1 hour long, for day and 30 minutes long for night, with dawn and dusk taking up 30 minutes , giving us over 30 minute dawn, 1 hour day, 30 minute dusk and 30 minutes pitch black night. During the dark, and yes because of 7 days to die, I think the zombies should be affected by the light, at night make them a serious threat, super fast, very alert, and strong, while during the day they would be as they are now. This would give people an objective beyond killing on sight, they would need to collect ammo, guns and stuff to keep them alive during the night.. Scenario : Your scavenging through cherno, killing a few players, having some fun, it starts to get dark, which is an instantaneous red flag that you need to gather food, water, and supplies and then find some where to hide, at which point your less blood thirsty and more friendly to helping or forming a small temporary group. You start gathering things to survive with, wood for a fire , the light of which might act the same way sunlight does and slows and weakens any zombies that come near, but at the same time attracts them. During the night zombies senses should also be heightened, being able to smell players from hundreds of meters away , so you hide in a house, second floor, zombies are flooding into the the building seeking the smell, eventually there are so many of them it triggers a horde attitude and ai switch and they then all spread out searching every room, as soon as the player is forced to fire every zomebie within earshot heads directly for them. Nights like this would be EPIC!. players would be battling until the sun comes up, or seeking that perfect hiding spot, or forming groups to slaw the zeds as they come, you might for a group setup 6 or 7 fires in a ring around your camp, zombies will flood in but slow down once they hit the light of the fires, as long as you have enough ammo you and your group could simply head shot them as they arrive, while some one in the group makes sure the fires dont go out. Imagine that fire situation when your alone, and your fires start to go out, you cant chop fast enough to keep them all lit so you start only topping up some of them reducing your protection, all the while your running out of ammo, running out of supplies. OFF the zombie front, I think we should hear owls, at night in the woods, we should see other animals as well, things that only come out at night, possibly hunting fox's or bears at night for their pelts which could be crafted into jackets, or a type of ghillie bear suit thing that masks your scent from the zombies, possibly the zeds done like bears or don't see them as pray / food. wolves should come out at night and hunt anything that moves, they should howl within 500 meters, that would be the red flag for the player, if they get close enough they would charge and attack from the shadows. this is how I would like the game to be, something that players can play for PVP while at the same time still fear and have to hide from the zombies. I also think that there should be boss type zombies, that drop something important, something all players will want to have, but something that a single or very small group will not be able to obtain, a boss zombie that could possibly have abilities, what if its huge and fat and slow, it can see and hear for miles, and it passes that information to its minions, it can summon zombies and then send them at a target, possibly it can belch gass like a green smoke but that poisons players who get to close, it should be hard to kill, requiring a group or 4 or 5 at least with sustained fire to bring it down. So possibly it regains health really fast, 3 people shooting full auto with ak's all hitting wont kill it, but if the combined damage for a fourth players ak fire is brung to bare on it then it will go down. give people a reason to be nice to each other, a reason to help each other, give clans a reason to clan up other than just rampant pvp. 1 person at night = Hide, up a roof, wait till dawn. 2 people at night = make a camp, set a fire, and wait for dawn 3 people at night = make a camp bigger, set more fires, wait for dawn. 4 people at night = look for things only available at night, covering each other as they move. 5 people at night = seek boss mobs and the epic cool loot they guard, or drop, or have on them. Possible epic loots could be unique items, body armour that's been mutated by the infection making it stronger than normal body armour, guns that cant be found anywhere else, ammo for these special guns possibly laced with poison , shooting a player will infect them if the bullet does not kill them. possibly these fat boss zombies are like magpies they like shiny things so they collect all these rare and unique items. I would say small boss per city or town, and possibly 1 or 2 world boss's that are random and walk the world. With stuff like this, night time would be epic, clans would form to take down these bosses, bandits would find places to hide near a boss, which would come with a massive risk as the boss could see them and send in zombies, but if the banidts good he could let a clan take the boss down and then ambush the clan taking the loot for himself. fun for everyone.

    The Topic is real simple and stems from a conversation we had the other night on our TS server, and please before you vote read the post. First of all, Duppers aside the drop rate on NVG's is so low, same for the l85 that possibly 1% or 2% of a server will have them, this sounds like a low number but when you look at and watch the damage a single player with NVG's can do in Cherno or Elektro its really unfair. MOST players are running around throwing flares, holding chem lights, which makes them a huge target as it is, but to people with NVG's and TWS their simply sheep waiting to be killed, as a result a lot of people leave the server and go looking for a daytime time zone to play on. I think if we took out those NVG's and TWS items that players would all feel on the same playing field, they would know that while they run around with a flare there wont be some one out there in the dark with vision as good as daylight stalking them. It's a hot topic for our little group, some are dead against it, mostly those who have one of these items, I have NVG, and had until last night a TWS so I am on the fence, but would not be upset if they took them out, I think it would make the torch war's in cherno and elektro a hell of a lot more fun at night time than they are now.
  6. God this was such a rant I had to delete the post and start over... I am just going to jump right to the TLDR.. I spawn as far from my body EVERY TIME, its breaking my love the game, our base is south of the map, today our base was under attack by another clan, something we relish, and while they die, and my fellow clan mates die and spawn in really close, when I die, I 8/10 will spawn as far away as is possible for the given map. I actually sat down with a pen n paper and took note of my deaths, and 8 out of 10 spawn points were over 5k from where I died, and since where I died was with clan mates during a war it makes and made re-entering the battle almost impossible. The final straw for me came today, after defending base for over an hour with a full on attack, I get that inevitable bullet to the head, and I as expected spawn 6.5k from the fight, this might not sound all the far but the map this time was Panthera so yeah in terms of travel time its probably more like 12k and thats in a straight line, so I get about half way back when a zombie rambo hits me, knocks me out and I die, BAM, back to where I was but this time a little further away, this goes on for nearly 3 hours I think I died another two times one from a player who noob stomped me and the other from another rambo zombie that just seemed to not want to go the fuck away regardless of the number of tree's and houses I ran through. In short, I miss out on 3 hours worth of clan warfare during which time I am doing nothing but frantically trying to get back into the fight, I miss out on all of the action, feel like I have just pissed away 3 hours of my life and feel like shit because my clan really needed the help and the game just fucking refused to spawn me a reasonable distance away. This mechanic needs a total overhaul, i'm not sure I really have a solution that would please everyone, and I know nothing will be done in the mod, but I do have a few suggestions which I think would make things better, now bare in mind I didnt come here to suggest something I came to moan about something I think is broken in the game in the hope that the devs listen, but to quell those who will reply with "if you think its broken suggest a fix" I will skim over some possible solutions. Taken from mine craft /set home , allow a player to set a home location, this location would then be used during respawn and the player would spawn anywhere within 500 meters on their home, this would allow clans to set home on their base, and when they die they would spawn anywhere in the area with 500 or hell even 1000 meters. it needs fixed either way I am sick of being that unlicky fuck thats always spending hours in the game just trying to get back into the fucking fight or just trying to get back to their friends.
  7. its your speed. the anti cheats now checking positions and if the distance traveled between checks is to high it thinks you teleported, this will prevent hackers from teleporting right over the map, but needs a little fine tuning to make sure fast vehicles dont trigger it.

    I think having new maps would be cool, let me be clear tho I am talking about maps of chern not new environments to play in.. I was thinking they could show different things in varied detail. Starter Map :: the survivor spawns with a starter map, looks like a pencil drawn effor on the back of some dirty old paper, would show rough location of cities and towns and the main large roads. Normal Map :: the one we have now. Loot Map :: a map showing where loot spawns, like a static dayzdb with colored dots for residential and industrial loot spawn points, would show car or vehicle sighting locations where cars might spawn.. Military Map :: map that shows all mill spawn points, along with helicopter sightings, which would mark the possible locations of heli crash sites. Master Map : shows it all.

    I think your all forgetting that the collective age of these cunts is 12, and they would not know how to change their IP. I think the REAL reason is that if they ban the IP then bis cant get any more money from them when they need to buy a new amra for a new ID. be honest about it ffs.

    sounds to me like your pissed that you missed out on all the cars.. I think you need to consider your importance in that situation, what do you think would be more important, a new spawn with zero gear and 10 minutes worth of travel AWAY from potentially end game gear for four players, or a slim chance that four players would be able to gear up really fast and gain transportation. SORY MATE, but in a tactical sense, leaving that loot to go collect you would have been a bad clan decision. HOWEVER, once they had their shit, they should have, and I WOULD HAVE deff come and got you, when our clan are looking at pick ups we simply avoid the cities and all know that if we want picked up we need to get past them first, spawning in Khamenka and coming from stary would have been an easy pickup for them, once they had looted the cars they should have come got you. So not sure I would call them shit, that was a good tactical choice, I would call them cunts for not collecting you AFTER they got their loot tho, thats kinda shit given you died while being with them at the chopper.
  12. I really need to try very hard not to make this a whiny post.... it's difficult but I will try. First of all, I would like to just say that fixing tents while hacking is still so bad was a massive mistake on dayz's part, having a supply in tents we could use to recover from death made the hacker kills a lot less annoying and lot easier to deal with, dont get me wrong I know this came with major draw backs to the gameplay and balance, with high end weapons flooding the servers but I think that as a negative is overshadowed by hackers, and has to be the lesser of two evils. OK that aside.. and to my main point, I was one of those people who bought Arma simply to play DayZ, so in a sense yes I have paid for DayZ already I have not and will not Play Arma its not what I want in a game, DayZ is however, I am a massive fan playing through all these bugs and most of the hackers takes a lot of dedication. But my faith and enjoyment in the game is being shaken by the endless and saddening onslaught of the hackers who seem to have a never ending supply of new tools in their tool box's while Battle EyE chugs along behind failing to really make an impact. I would like to hear some assurences on how good the Anti Cheat on the stand alone will be, we have all been told how Rocket and co will be able to physically remove the hacked guns from the game, which is cool, but whats to stop hacker still injecting scripts and insta killing people with the click of their buttons, or spawning in box's with legal guns , or teleporting around the map. I guess what I am saying is that I am really starting to fear that I may not buy the stand alone, if I get it and the hacking is as bad as this then I think I would probably never buy another BIS product and would be sure to let all my friends and family know why. SO TELL ME, BIS, ROCKET.. will the stand alone be really hacker free. or are you just blowing smoke up our collective ass's so we buy your game. I love the game I love your work but I simply do not know how much more of this shit I can take.

I know a lot of people wont like this, which is why I think it should be an option people can turn on or off. in short, a lot of people play with poor sound, most computers these days do not come with Surround Sound, but rather OEM Sound Drivers and on board chipsets, and they really struggle when it comes to directional sound, I have often struggled to locate and enemy because my sound system fails to really make it clear. Having an option to turn on a little visual queue to show me what direction a threat is coming from would really help. I think it should be something with range set, for example it should only work under 100 meters, close range which is where the sound systems on poor computers really fall down, anything over 100 meters and these visual indicators would not show up. This visual indicator would make up for the lack of quality in peoples hardware, the human ear is so complex and good at its job that with two or one gun shots within audible range it can detect an almost exact direction, but in game and with crap sound cards and headphones this can often be impossible. no reason some players should suffer because they cant afford better sound hardware.

    make them a server setting, then admins can decide if they want them on or not that way its the same for all players on that server. I know I need them, my hardware sucks, no I cant upgrade unless you want to pay for the hardware, I think before anyone starts in on the cost of hardware you have to understand that in this economy, not everyone is employeed or in a situation where they can afford new hardware so just shut up. accept that the world, and its gamers and their hardware come in many shapes, and types, and just try to accept that while you may not need a little visual thing to make up for being deaf or having a crap sound system, other people do. nothing worse than smartdicks that think just because their lucky enough to have found work and a stable income that everyone else who has not is a bum.

    the flip side to this would be UP!!. the drop rate on Night Vision and make them drop in more places , not just those two buildings, I think the major problem with the drop rates and I beleive its linked with the above SVD camo talk is that those two buildings are the only two in the map and their the only places you can get a number of items. Night Vision SVD Camo M107 Range finder And probably some others, with all these items only spanwing in a tiny limited number of places, they are essentially all fighting for the same spot which makes finding any of them even harder, Night Vision should be found in at all, in all mill spawns, as should range finders, leave the camo and m107 in those locations but for the love of god upp the ammo drop rate on the camo because right now its shocking.
  16. honestly all you idiots saying hide your stuff better have no clue just how rampent that Navigator hack is and how inept the anti cheat is at detecting it. We recently did a test, we took 10 tents, put them up in the middle of no where literally right at the edge of the map right in one of the corners, we also moved 4 cars there, tents and cars were all empty we left the engines running, we sat for a few hours, you would not beleive the number of people who literally logged in, or spawned and then ran in a direct line right all the camp and all its vehicles, and not one of them got detected by battle eye or anti cheat gotcha thing. its staggering the number of people you play with every day and simply have no idea just how many of them are actually cheating. SO NO!.. Until that shit gets fixed, or detected you can say to him, hide your stuff better, what you could suggest is that he hide his stuff as far north as possible, the only benefit to this is that he can hope some other noob has hidden his stuff closer to the hacker, we all know their lazy bastards and will take what ever is closest, also NEVER take high value cars, flatbeds, urals, leave them alone the hackers will ALWAYs go for them. I find sticking to the littl blue van, and bikes to be best.

    I really dont see a problem with these as said we already have the peripheral dots which show zombies, animals, and vehicles within 250+ meter radius. I think actually, what they might do is once some one shoots, their peripheral dot should flash red and be a little bigger to indicate a greater threat from that angle, if your taking fire and dont see a dot its because hes in front of you. the mechanic is already there it would not be adding anything new simply improving how something already works. and before some wise ass comes along and screams ohh thats no realistic, dude just dont, there are so many things in the game that are no realistic so just shut up.

    It's not the same thing, if I have an Axe or a Mak and you have an assault rifle, I can still shoot you in the face and kill you, but when its dark and I have NVG's and you dont, nothing you can really do will save your life apart from log out, because I will either be near you with my Acog or at range with my DMR, either way a flare wont save your life. Same thing goes for the L85 its simply far to over powered. Happened to me last night, I snag some NVG's and while moving into town to the shop I nearly stood on top of three players all trying to hide in a little out building I think they thought the doors were closed, they could clearly not see a damn thing, one of them poped a flare and it cought my attention, I spun around and three bangs later they were all dead, they had NO CLUE what soever that I was there, hell even if I made tons of noise they would probably still not have been able to see me and I was only 20 meters away. It's far to strong an item, and the same goes for the L85. They should. .... NO THEY NEED, to be removed from the game.

    Yeah I think it sucks, I am fortunate that it only happens to me in close combat , probably why I enjoy being a sniper so much is the fact that my combat is mostly long range 800+ meters, and directional sound at that range seems to be working fine. Its the real close combat stuff thats all fucked up, shoot an AK or Stan round under 100 meters and its almost impossible to tell where it came from some times, specially in forrests.

    Tips for fighting in the bush

    as a sniper I spend most of my time in the bush and prone, however when I start to move either relocating after a kill or moving location I wont go prone again until I have reached my destination. A few things to add to this, and I will also stress DONT PANIC!!.. When moving, always move from one cover point to another, if your in the forrest and have open woodland to your left and a massive rock to your right, move to the rock and pause a second, look for your next cover point and move to it, then again pause for a second. I have earned so many kills simply by taking my time through the bush, most people are very impatient and will just run full speed through the tree's in a straight line to their destination, the pause you take at each cover point gives you a second yo regain your breath and allows you a second to listen out for any other players or hazards. I find the biggest problem with people losing their shit, and the reason they panic so often and prone to early is that their sound is not good enough and they really cant tell what direction fire is coming from, I find that the closer a player is when shooting at you it's often even harder to tell because the gunshots are so loud anyway, what I do is run like a crazy to cover and then try and watch for impacts, its often a their bullet impacts on a tree, or wall that can give their position away, although this can and often is very hard to do or remember to do when the shit hits the fan. Another thing to watch for is a water source, pond, sea, if I am traveling near water I will always be in the shallows, a three step dive and your under water and the water stops all bullets dead in their tracks, I had a player get close to me I dove in and took cover , he saw this and ran upto me from 2 meters he shot, when he realized his bullets were not hitting me he moved back, the second I saw his character make the throw animation I stood up and single shot him in the head, I then promptly ran like hell as the nade went bang at my back. A lot of this stuff is very situational, you might not always be near water, or a wall, or tree's close enough to cover behind, but it will happen, and the more you practice this the better you will get. When Playing with others, never let them push you into moving faster, its often a big mistake as a clan or group to let your guard down and just charge through the woods , you think with more eye's your safer , in fact your more visible and more of a target and when more than one person is involved its so easy to confuse the sound of gunfire from a friend with an enemy, so stick to your breath,listen,move,cover pattern and you will live a lot longer. Finally , and players will never admit this, but it helps to have a bit of luck, in fact a lot of luck, a lot of encounters come down to simply spotting some one first and getting that crucial first hit, when your the first one to fire its the other guy that will lose his shit, so luck helps a lot.

    I would love some of the ambient noise take out, and actuallt replace them with real noises, that chain link fence noise , play that when some one vaults a fence not when your in the middle of a forrest. or the treebrach snap play that when some one is crouch running or running through the forest, not when your the only one for 1000 meters and your prone under a log. the ambient noises are cool but they really dont mean anything lets make them mean something so each noise has a source.

    Are buildings equal?

    I think loot quality might be tied to the number of people on a server, the more people the better the loot, the lower the number of players the lower the quality of loot. I have seen this happen at the NWAF, I farmed it for about 5 hours with 3 people online, only saw one or two items I wanted, then as peek hit and the server jumpped to 45 players the loot in my next few runs around instantly jumpped up through ak's into sanags and sniper rifles and bags. not sure if that was just a coincidence but seems logical to me.

    in a nut shell I would like this.. or something like it.. could give clans a bit of land to fight over, and a reason to use the many boats that spawn all over the map.
