    that redit didnt make it clear if the chopper spawns anywhere else tho.. Also I like the fact that it spawns in a predictable location, would be nice to have this fix but not have it impact the chopper.

I'm playing on a UK server, and the Admin whos a Friend has a tried a number of times to sort out the time in game so that its around GMT+1 or 2 in a nut shell we want some Night Time Play when GMT is around 9 or 10pm. Can some one walk me through the process of how to set the time to this range, as I wana try and help him sort this time crap out. I should say he had it right once or twice but after a mid day reset it would screw up again. currently as I recall the time is about 6 hours out.

    Why do YOU kill in DayZ?

    With me it's all about the group, or clan, or guild, if your not part of that inner circle then your just another corpse waiting for a bullet, that being said I make it a task to do one good deed a day in game normally not killing some one and helping them out in some way or other, giving them a ride in a car or helping them out with loot. Those people that have gotten past me and made it into the group while making first contact with me have been those who made it visible real fast that they did not want a fight, either by yelling friendly and then turning their back to me, or by switching to a pistol and aiming at the ground or off to the side and then waiting to see what I did. That takes some balls, not to aim at a bandit with a ghillie suit on and a big ass gun pointed at your face, but some times it's the only play you have that will result in you not getting your face taken off by a .50 cal round.

    I voted for YES, but on the condition that hackers are dealt with, I think the only reason so many people are playing just now with such rampant hacking is because they know they can get their stuff back after a hacker attack.. once the tents get fixed hacker deaths are going to sting a lot more than they do right now and could push a lot of people away from the game, its actually why I think they have been reluctant to fix it

I think whats a bit annoying tho are all the players who use one even tho their not snipers, for example in all the FPS games I have played in the past, from CS to UT, through Quake and beyond I have always played a sniper, but with the .50 being all over the place I have seena number of people just running around with them and using the guns default cross hair , acting almost like its an assault rifle. Their only doing that and using it because it kills in one shot and stops people from doing an Alt+F4 , so I think the results might not be as high as they are if you take out these people as their not really playing the snipers role but rather just run n gunning with it. Would have been nice if you added a question asking what the longest they have sat in a single spot to get a kill was. think mine is about 6 hours without moving till I got a kill, and then only moving to relocate.
  6. I have access to both, think I have about 4 tents, with Normal and Thermal in, about 5 guns in total, all of which either found at crash sites or via player kills. I also use the Thermal, the one I use I took from a crap hacker who was spawning in in front of me trying to kill me as I ran off with his hacked in vehicle hahaha, when I finally paniced enough to get out the car I opened up on his head with about 6 shots (m107 as50) and killed him, took his thermal and some ammo and run like a little school girl. I will be the first one to cheer when the tents and hacks get fixed, probably standalone , BUT UNTIL THEN, with so many hackers, I damn sure will use thermal as50's if I can find them, it levels the playing field when it comes to hackers, and some times I wonder if there are more of them than there are normal players.
  7. DUDE, simply do NOT reset your server every 12 hours , its the server reset that dupes everything , just done reset.

    I vote for an Automated train, or one manned by an NPC driver, im all for fixing up a train and tooling around with it on the tracks but lets face it when your home base is way to the north and you just spawn in kamenka, waiting for a train to take you part of the way back to your base would be way more beneficial to a server than having to walk. And of course the risk comes in the form of people shooting at the train as it passes, it should be like the bus tho, not something you walk around in but that you just sit in. As for the automation it could be an early solar power prototype and not have need for manned interaction, but really all of you whining about the lack of power are just nitpicking to derail the idea. roll on trains please and not ones you need to fix cos thats fucking stupid, its not a car.

Was just thinking about what really provides the threat in the game, and had to admit to myself that its the other players, killing on sight is a common thing at least on my server, even if some one calls out Friendly the next sound is normally a single gun shot to the head. I think the reason players are run/gunnning is that at the moment, the zombies really are no threat at all, I think if we get updates to their AI, and possible more types harder to kill, and more threatening zombies that players might have to give pause and have a second thought about killing a potential allie when they see another player.

    Zombie Boss

    Big FAT Boss zombie, 1.5* larger than a normal zombie, that walks around, possibly one or two in a given area, they would have a 2 smaller much faster zombies THUGS with them, if the Boss spots a player, and the boss would have a much larger view distance, then he would stop, scream and point , the 2 thug zombies would then charge full speed at the player. Any other zombies in the area hearing the boss would also go for the player , kinda like invasion of the body snatchers, point , scream , ahhhhhh!.. Zombie Spitter , spits poison/infection at players, with a 50 meter range, a hit player gets infected and starts loosing blood fast, as well as spreading the infection to anyone around them, hit players would need to run away from friends to medicare themselves. Boomer Zombie , zombie that in its life was a solder bomb tech, bad news for us is that hes walking around with a bomb ready to go off at the smallest nudge, when he spots a player he runs right at them full speed, and once close enough BOOOOM!, if hes shot he also blows up, players could use them tactically. Whisper Zombie : this zombie walks around, and when he gets close to a player, he whispers to him, "hay friendly?" , "im coming in dont shoot" , "yoohooo i have a gun" , "I see you" in VOICE not text, any little creepy voice thing to pure mess with the players head, a little audio manipulation and people wont know if its a real player or a zombie haahaha. Gunner Zombie : even a monkey can pick up a gun and shoot it, so a zombie that picks up guns and shoots them at players, the accuracy would be horrible possibly 1 in 100 shots might actually hit the player, it would be more about freaking a player out than actually having zombies gunning players down, the zombie would shoot in the general direction of any players seen. Grabber zombie : fast running zombie that grabs onto the player slowing the player down while adding a slow blood drain, the player being held should not be able to get it off, the slower the player moves the more zombies can grab on until the player is held and cant escape, one or two grabbers in a normal pack of normal zombies could pose a real challenge. Small AI suggestions.. Camps, Zombies should smell camps from at least 200 meters, and walk toward them, tents, fire's, vehicles with people in, fencing anything a player has built , placed or put down should leave a smell the zombies should navigate toward. Zombies should bang on closed doors not open them, would give more freak to the players if there are 3 zombies at the door bashing the crap out of it. when its dark, some zombies should head inside buildings and stand in corners , players seeking shelter could get a real surprise if they run into houses and rooms without checking them for z's Picking Up Loot, when a zombie kills a player, it should loot the player and pick up his stuff, that zombie should then be exempt from the despawn and put on a timer, if the player gets back in time he can kill the zombie or zombies if three or four killed him and get his stuff back, if the player does not get back in time, say 5 or 10 minutes then the zombie despawns taking the players loot with them. just a few thoughts.

    Threat, Zombies and death.

    I dont agree.. sure thats what snipers use them for but I think their supposed to be way more of a threat than just some fancy indicator to say hay a player must be down in that town some where.

    Weapon Cleaning and Degrading.

    Yeah I think its an easy way to prevent people from holding more than one, and it should be consumed on use as well, we simply have no reason at the moment to go looking for new stuff, I cant count the number of crash sites that we have just driven past because we dont even need to look at them any more, its removing that need to explore and venture out into the wild, that the game really needs back.
  13. where does it spawn ? I have been playing a while now and only ever saw one, I looked on dayzdb.com and it does not show any spawn points for the PBX, is that a hacked in Boat or does it exist in the game normally and if so where is its spawn point. PS while I am here , for the love of all that is zombie, please increase the speed of that crappy little gray/white boat, it's far to slow your a bullet magnet when your in it, and unlike a car you don't have terrain or tree's to hide behind.

Your actually bonkers and wrong, where do you think the Wild West Gold Rush Miners got all that crap, they dug out massive gold mines in small one man, two man teams with nothing but a pickaxe , some candels, and wodden supports. people seem to have these crazy idea's of how hard things should be when in fact mankind has being doing them with a lot less hassle.

  16. You lot are all barkin mad. You need to look past your crazy insecurities and think about the possibilities. I can see them adding two types of base, the first would be a small 2 or 3 room structure for personal use, a place for each player to call home and store some stuff that follows them to other servers, this would be a locked home for 1 player only. I can then see the second type being a clan base, much bigger and with many more rooms, the downside to this having more rooms and holding more people , ie a clan it would be open to the world, and open to clan assaults. GOD!, Am I the only one here that thinks about taking a clan of guys over the map in vehicles arriving at our enemy base, opening their hatch jumping in and then assaulting, blowing shit up, pinching their goods and sweeping each of their rooms and taking all their beans, hoe fkn epic would that be. Would be even better if once a base is blown to crap that clan then needs to go build a new one, none of this server restart restoring stuff crap that we have right now. Your all worried about people hiding in an instance and being out of the world, but if you think about the LOSS! that those people would will suffer if you gather some friends and go kick their ass , wow, BRING IT ON! :) I hope rocket see's the future and ignores all you

Can we please for the love of god get more than one chopper per server, its the first damn thing a hacker spawns and when your sitting with one in base or flying one around and a hacker joins its an instant bummer cos your chopper goes for a little hacker joyride and the server then needs to wait at least 24 hours before there is even a chance of it coming back. By which time another hackers came on and the 24 hour timer is bumped again, in short if your server is frequented by hackers then your almost never going to get a chopper. So EITHER!, allow 2, hacker can joy ride one, and players can keep theirs, or make the server spawn a new one as soon as one is blown up which the hackers almost always do. At least that way if they take it, and blow it up a new one would instantly spawn some one on the map. the hacker might ruin your day but you would have a chance of getting it back without having to wait an unknown amount of time.
  18. I say get the dogs in , the quicker their in the better, it means longer testing of their mechanics, which means the dogs in the standalone will be fully tested and ready to go. As for it making the game easier , are you mad, first of all, it will make the player easier to spot, you might be in a bush but your dogs probably not gona sit exactly where you want, it will wander around and he said it wont just stay until you have had it for a while and trained it and made it loyal. It will be valuable in hunting animals without having to waste a round or 5 on a cows face. And as people say about the zombies, im sure iv read that rocket is planning on adding lots of new zombie types, so thats all in the works, dont hate on the dogs, if you dont like them dont tame one.
  19. I wana ask for more Admin power, first of all let me say I am not an Admin, Don't want to be an Admin, I'm just a player. The server I play on is getting hammared by hackers, and the very very sad truth is that almost 100% of the time the hackers have more control over what happens on the server than the admin does , and that's mental, he can kick them if he see's them in the act but failing that he needs to wait for a while before he can parse the logs with some script or other to weed out the actions being performed. Admins should be able to spawn Vehicles, as Vehicle loss is one of the biggest things people get when a hacker joins their server, driving a road taking supplies back to base, hacker tp's you to some far off place and you lose your car, or they tp to and take the chopper, or they just tp around the map blowing up all the vehicles. I would like admins to get a message like "Player has just spawned an ammo box,Car,Gun" and be able to make the server spawn a specific vehicle, for example if some one takes the chopper the Admins should be able to tell the server, we need a new chopper and the server would then spawn on in normally. Lets be clear im not talking about giving the admins the ability to spawn things in front of themselves, but rather the ability to tell the server, Hay a hacker blew this up we need a new one on the server. Finally letting them add people to a ban list from in game would also be a nice touch, having to force them to go to the backend and add ip's and id's to some file seems like more hard work when it can easily be done from in game and letting the server handle it. I know there are some admins that are dicks, but I think most are not, most just want to enjoy the game and hackers are wrecking it, its then the admins that get it in the neck "OMG hacker took my car do something" or "OMG hacker blew up my chopper and stood there while we shot a million bullets at him that did nothing" etc etc. these people work hard and play long hours to get their stuff , so anything you can do to allow admins to resolve and fix some of the damage would go a long way I think.

    My point is that's not enough because it has to happen After the fact, the hacker gets his stuff , wrecks peoples games and only AFTER all that, can the admin do something about it. Their only direct action seems to be a kick from the server, and in my view thats not enough, Admins must get flak from every angle its not a job I envy at all, any player who gets hacked and loses his stuff blames the admin for not stopping the hacker and then asks for his stuff back because it was lost unfairly, admins cant do shit about it sadly. they need to be able to fix and undo what hackers have done to their server, I really do wonder what all the hate on admins is about iv only known one and hes been top, not done any of the retarded crap people talk about on here, in fact I think most of the admin hate here is just bullshit. they need more power, they need to be able to fix vehicle spawns after a hacker ruins them. and then need to be able to add a player to the ban list Actively from in game. but hay like I said im not an admin nor do I want to be, I just fkn hate hackers ruining my fun, and hate even more that the admin on our server cant do shit to fix it.

    Hackers Army ?

    Yeah I know this is rampent and hackers seem to have an endless free raign over the game, but tonight for the first time for me at least , a hacker spawned in tons, 50+ it looked like Bots all female, all with crazy guns, all trying to kill us. Is this a new thing that we should watch for or has this been around for ages ? iv not seen it before .
  22. I was thinking and wondering about tents tonight as a hacker is currently satchel charging our clans camp, and probably destroying our vehicles, (thanks for that).. First of all, when will tents get fixed so that any action taken on them pushes a save, preventing tent dupeing, I admit that when the server resets and my stuff pops back I dont complain but I look forward to the day that tents work the way their supposed to, it will reduce the number of people constantly running around with AS50's and CCO's. Also I was wondering and offering a suggestion that each player, should be able to find and use 1 unique tent that has a padlock and can only be accessed by that given player, a tent they can pack up and move, when needed and one that cant be opened by others. I also think this one tent should only be able to hold 3 guns, 5 tools and say 20 items, so less than a normal tent a sacrifice for it being a locked tent. People, clans will still need to use a load of normal tents to store lots of tools and guns and ammo, but if the worst happens, and their camp is raided, they will at least have a very small amount of stuff to fall back on if they have stuff in their tent that is. anyway.. just asking :)
  23. Sorry if this has been asked, still kinda new to the game and of course the site. I was wondering if it's possible to put sandbags , tents, wire etc on a roof, I tried with the one and only sadbag that I have found so far but it just vanished , think it fell through the floor to the ground , through about 3 floors lol. I also tried this with a tent with the same result, faling through the building, thought I would ask if this was just a local bug for me and the server I was on or if this is a global to all bug. Seems logical to me that I might want to sandbag the edge of a roof to provide sniper cover, or fence off some stairs to block out zombies and players. thats another thing , are zombies supposed to be able to just walk through wire ? would be nice if the zombies could not pass by wire, seems logical that although they feel no pain, they would get all caught up in the spikes and get stuck not just pass right through like the wire is not there at all.
