    Yeah its crazy not having it, I mean whats the point of showing a player being killed at all if you cant see who killed them, we need to be able to see who's killing people. Its something that should be left to the server admins to configure.

    Yeah need to know how to turn it on tho Razorman any chance you could show us some server IP's or a server name I can look for might be able to talk to the admin or host directly to find out how they did it.
  3. Can some one show me the server config to allow waypoints but NOT the player blue dots on the map ? I only want the waypoints working, having the blue dots for players show up is stupid.
  4. of people saying this , or that thing is un-realistic and should not be in the game, normally these claims are aimed at suggestions or dogs or hell once guy on a server said that eating beans without a can opener was bloody un realistic. YOUR ALL MENTAL.. I am sick of it, these people throw this phrase around like its the mighty hammer of thor, a close the thread now hammer meant to shut people up. YOUR WRONG. After an Argument with a friend on how realistic the grass and tree's looked ( he said they should grow, the tree's and make them fall when you chop wood) o.O , I turned his attention to the fact that a little human can put three engines in his bag and pockets and his reply was simply , yeah but we need those for vehicle repair. Come on, it's unrealistic to have dogs, but its ok to be able to carry three ENGINES god they use bloody car lifts to take them out in real life, so its unrealistic to eat beans with nothing to open them, but bloody hell feul tanks never run dry where is this unlimited fuel coming from. All people are really saying when they use this phrase is that they personally dont like your idea, or the thing your talking about and would rather it not be in the game, its not NOTHING to do with it being realistic or not or they would be complaining about the fact you cant drink fresh water with your mouth when your knee deep in a fresh water pond, what can your character not bloody bend over and take a sip ? My rant is now unrealistically over.

    I think on Vet the waypoints are off ... there is a way to just allow them and not the blue dots iv seen it on another server.

    My Grammar sucks, never gona improve now im 35 lol. yeah exactly. some people just throw it around as their definitive answer to why something should or should not be in the game, its bloody stupid, as for the dogs, don't recall the name but that movie with Will Smith , Zombies and his dog, WAS EPIC!. loved that film although the name eludes me at the moment, so I can understand why tons of people myself included want dogs. Dogs aside tho this is a much bigger issue than just that one thing, its a plague people need to cut it out and stop using the term when they don't have a better and valid argument against something.
  7. if you think their working on the mod still your barking mad, they want the stand alone out before xmass, their full steam ahead on that I would be surprised if rocket has the time and clone available to sit in on two projects at the same time. that being said they are working from the same basic code and framework, but I still think their all working harder on the standalone than they are the mod, thats why dogs are not in yet, and are you all freaking stupid just because dogs are in does not mean you NEED to use them, if you dont like them then stay the hell away from them, leaving them for the players who want them. like me.

I would like to be able to set a HOME for the dog that I spend time training up, I would like to be able to tell my dog to piss of home and protect my tent/base at which point it would run the map get home and then sit on guard or I might want to tell it to go home and hide at which point it would go home and then hide in some tree or bush. I would also like that if my current player dies, that my dog should automatically go home and hide, I should then be able to return to my base and retrieve my dog. Just in the same way I can get my body back when I die, I want to salvage my dog if I die rather than having to go out and train a whole new dog all over again, people will get attached to their dogs and the dog itself will become something to protect I suspect. only Dog Death should remove a dog from a player.

    Bullshit unless your strong enough to carry a handfull of engines in your bag along with chopper parts tools, sorry bud but you cant have it both ways, realism in the game is very subjective, your not super man you cant lift 1 ton and still run around like an idiot shooting people. Its just sad that people are arguing over all these mechancis and most of it is a result of hackers, and not actually broken game mechanics, I would give a solid vote for being able to study a body and then seeing it say "Taiphoz died from a gunshot to the head, fired by someguy 500 meters away" I think that would be the best option, people who NEED to know who killed them can find out, but at the same time the killer can hide the body to mask his identity.

    Oh the realism argument, so being able to put two or three car engines wheels and a helicopter main rottor assembly in your bag and pockets does not bother you at all ? or the fact that morphene fixes broken bones ? or how about the fact that there are zombies, or the fact that you can hit some one with an axe ten times before they fall over if you dont hit them in the head, OH I know how about the fact that in real life you can last weeks without food but in this its hours. Your Realism Argument is shot out of the water simply looking at the rest of the game, ITS A GAME!, that being said and if you really want something to role play with, you could be the dead guys brother from a really large family of infinate brothers, and the dog detects the family smell so does not rip off your face. GOD why do some people have to be so anal.

    Police dogs run right at a perp but you could easily train a real dog to zig zag so thats not an issue, however if you have seen the video of them using the dogs you will or should remember most of the time the guy could not see the damn thing the grass was taller than the dog and it was only visible right at the last second. So dog vs gun might not be as straight forward as you think, depending on where you are, if your in the middle of an air field, or road you have a shot at stopping it, but if your in a bush in the middle of a forest or grassy field I think the dogs ona rip your face off. As for the dogs power, Police dogs in the US have been trained to take down armed men, and thats in real life so their clearly equipped for the job or the police force would not use them, saw an episode of cops once where a dog unit took a guy with a shotgun out the shotgun guy had no chance as the dog got hold of his arm and nearly tore it off. Dog's in real life are leathal, so much so that the law states a dog trained to attack a human is considered a leathal weapon. so if he puts them in and their not leathal killing machines then I will be rather unhappy.

    C130 Spawn Point.

    I think the games spawning system needs a total change and I think I have the perfect idea. When your player spawns, you should be able to pick one of the big 1000 meter grid squares, normally you would pick the one you think you might have died in. When you then spawn into the game you find yourself in a C130 Plane flying toward to coast and land from the sea, your plan will fly over the grid square you picked , HOWEVER its your call as a player when you jump out, so for example if I picked the very top left grid square I might half way through the flight opt to bail out early. Once you jump you parachute down, all the while as a player probably trying to keep an eye in the direction of your dead body or trying to look out for the people who might have killed you. This system will keep the game flowing, and keep combat happening up north and through out the map, as people will not have 30 or 40 minute runs back to a fight, I and I am sure you all dont mind running around the map, but running from Kamenka to Berezino is almost game ending for some people, and even thought we all know the rule, its still a major issue that people WANT to get back to their bodies. Anyway I hope this idea gets some serious thought, because at the moment spawning at the beach is broken, makes no sense with no boats near you and just feeds the endless run n gun play in cherno and elektro, which just feeds the snipers and end ups with us having even more tents around the cities.

As a programmer is a little odd to me that you STILL have not prevent players being teleported, it's not like it's all that hard really, I assume but may be wrong that in addition to your player objects x,y,z fields your probably tracking the previous x,y,z values as well. Why not throw in an additional check once every second or two that simply asks, whats the distance from the players current location, to his last location a second or two ago, if the distance is any further than 10 meters then he's being teleported, the 10 meters is a guestimate it would have to be just a little larger than the distance traveled legally in something like a chopper over a second or 2. the physics code is probably being polled about 40+ times a second, so throwing in a distance check between those two points once a second will do NOTHING to performance. And I think I can speak for most, when I say being teleported into the sea, losing all your stuff is the worst at the moment, and its happening all the time, a reset wont fix it cos your body is lost, your gear is lost, your stats are lost, and if the hacker is a total prick like most are then he wipes and saves your tents as well. FIX IT.. Stopping them from god moding and spawning things in is important but teleporting should be at the top of the list, hackers are lazy scum and having to run around a map to kill everyone will slow them down and most will be to lazy to even bother, so moving north will help us avoid them. Also preventing insta death is also an easy fix, using the same sort of method shown above. FINALLY< AND NO IM NOT A SERVER ADMIN.. You need to bloody well log kills, who killed who, in the logs, your not loggin enough and your making life on the server admins a total NIGHTMARE i am not surprised a lot of admins have resorted to hacking themselves just so they can police their own bloody servers.

    Who said your NOT a soldier how the hell do you know that, it sure does not tell you that at the start of the game and why does magically appearing at the beach sound better in a zombie appocolypse than being dropped out a plane, if it makes you feel better the plane could be low on fuel and about to crash. As for the spawn point picking I really dont think you got what I was trying to say and you clearly have never used the parachute out of the chopper, its not something you can simply control down to your body, if you can only pick 1000 square meter locations then from a high height you would still have the potential to land easily 1500 meters from your body or worse further. Not to mention the noise the plane would make, and the whole fact of you know, FALLING slowly down through the sky, if your daft enough to still be looting while hearing the plane and then not taking shots at the guy in a WHOPPING big parachute then you deserve to be shot in the back. I am all for making the square larger say 3000 meter thats about from Cherno to Prigordik, and would easily be a 5-10 minute run back to your body depending on where you land and where your chute takes you. That would be the risk of picking a drop point thats close to your dead self, the guy might shoot you out the sky, pick one further away and you have a longer run back, its all about trading some risk for some reward. Right now spawning at the beach and being killed at NWAF is such a WHORE of a run that it kills it for a lot of people, and when we die why should we not care about our stuff when we worked hard to get it, hell never mind that why would you not want to get revenge on the guy that shot you, or on a deeper level your in a clan v clan situation up north and having a fucking hour long run ahead of you would destroy the whole battle faster than dropping a satchel at your feet. Its easy to just shit on an idea without actually thinking about it a little first.

    Hacker Prevention.

    IN a nut shell the server tracks each player, sending and receiving player data via packets, nothing special, servers really just relay this info to other players so their local clients can display the right data like hay there is a player at 10,10,10 and your at 10,10,12 so your client needs to draw him. And it's not something that would require tons of testing because its not a complex test, is this number n bugger than this number n+1 .. and no im not a smartarse, just an indie games developer and programmer so while I dont have my hands on their code, I do fully understand the concepts and methods used by them and their engine, as for it being a simple fix and possibly breaking other mods yeah thats probably very true and why its not done yet, roll on standalone. I really hope their release plans for the stand alone alpha are not to just port the mod code to it and then release or sell it, they damn well better lock it all down first.
  17. so were possibly getting underground bases's in the stand alone, something a player or clan can build up which solves the space issue above ground, and gives players the means to fill their base building needs. My question is, if I build a personal base for myself, will others be able to come into it ?

    Actually im sure Rocket said that, so although its not set in stone its not speculation, and will make a lot of sense to have it instanced, I am sure I read but please correct me that Rocket wants players characters to remain in game 24/7, preventing alt f4' cos your guy will just be standing still and the attacker will have an easy kill, as I understood it the base was a place a player would go to be safe and logout. not sure if thats right or not tho I cant find the post I read it in.
  19. They need to remove all the military loot spawns from the city, that will push players north as they go looking for better guns. Personally I would move all Military loot North of the games meridian , middle of the map the bottom half of the map should be for the new spawns to meek out a little loot, find a winchester get a map and stuff fill up on some food and other stuff, and then once their ready head north into the wild west. At the moment the way the game is, every server I go on has a dozen tents near every city with tons of loot, just spawn , run up get gear, run in and shoot a few people, die, run up get gear and run back in, half the people in cherno dont care about their life, or their gear cos they know their just gona get more from a tent, its hardly a survival game when people are easily turning it into CS:ZOMBIE .

    OR.. what about telling your dog to guard you, and if you die the dog would then protect your body, would hide in a bush and as soon as some one goes to loot and opens your corpse it would attack the player.. which is something a real dog would probably do their so loyal.

    Maps. Unique..

    Mine Craft Maps ? ok the idea is real simple, when you pick up a map and have it on your toolbelt, I would like it that when you place a map marker on that map, it gets saved to THAT MAP, players could then have a number of maps, each marking unique things. I may for example create a map of all of my tents and base locations, a map like this would be left in my base or hidden in some tent, something I only take out the tent and look at to get my rough direction to my next base. I could then also have other maps in the tent which I marked enemy base locations on, a map like that I might actually carry around on me. The Key thing being that if a player kills me, they might look at my map to see what I have on it, and if it makrs something they like the look of, they might make my map and use it to go raid my things, or they might just copy my map onto theirs. Bottom line, let use mark our own unique maps, that we can save in a tent or house or etc....

    Assault Run Speed

    At the moment we have two speeds, walk and run possibly 3 if you count sprint. I would like to suggest a new speed, if your equipping an assault rifle and have it aimed then you should be able to move a lot faster than a simple walk, watching some tactical spec ops stuff on youtube those seals and sas guys really shift while still holding focus and keeping aim so why are we forced to be so slow when we aim in DayZ. Part of the reason so many people use As50's in the game is because the close combat game sucks and is far to clunky, if you could make the combat at close range, guns 300 meters and bellow a lot more like something in CS or COD then a far larger portion of the players would play with those guns rather than hoarding As50's. if I aim down my gun, let me run at a speed thats half way between walking and running, at least that way the combat can be sped up a bit while still allowing for a difference in speed from running with the gun down and running with the gun up.

    This just happend to me, now im totally stuck, tried other servers, tried other versions, its just screwed me over.
