BE dont auto update the DLLs on the servers. It only update other data, this means that the DLL used by Arma2 in the past is at least 2 years outdated. These updates will improve cheat prevention (note: I didnt say solve, but improve). And if you didnt read my OP, we're collecting data before the bigger release tomorrow so shit dont hit the fan bigtime if we roll it out to everyone. I'd assume that those who do read forums want to help out and test out the earliest stuff... Maybe Im posting testing info to the wrong place....- 251 replies

The automated installer is indeed 2 DLLs older than latest on the site. There'll be a release of new automated installer about tomorrow which will bring them in line with eachother. (No more DLL version confusion). VRAM is for clientside (video ram) so should give boost to clients with beefy specs. -

Saying this again: CLIENT & SERVER need both the patch and BattlEYE installation. Is NOT backwards compatible. Your players probably got BE initialization because they hadnt run the BE patch. Recommend getting this working asap, as tomorrow will probably have a mandatory update. -

Use 94997 , not 94945 . As for BE patch. Make sure you only play on 94997 servers as this patch is not backwards compatible. There'll probably be a mandatory arma2 patch tomorrow. -

Of course we care. IF we find out anyone is doing this, we'll issue a warning. If it persist we'll blacklist the server, and worst case DB ban your player. -

Just wait for people to update according to the instructions and you'll be fine and back up to 60 players. The patch fixes a lot of issues that improves performance. Support for >4GB VRAM anyone? Dupe fixes and more. -

Some IPs have been blacklisted for various reasons. File a support ticket at support.dayzmod.com if your server is having issues and we'll try to investigate it. -

I got notified about this thread. Ghosting is not a valid kick or ban reason for the reasons seen in this thread. People get accused of ghosting and it's hard to police it. We are however thinking of good ways to make it harder to actively ghost in behind someone (see my thread about game mecahnic prevention of ghosting in suggestions). Ghosting is also hard to define. Would it be considered ghosting if a group of player switch server where they have their car, travel to another place to see if they can find hostiles? If that is considered ghosting, then would it not be considered ghosting to switch server to fetch weapons from hidden tents among different clan/group owned servers? -

Answering each question in turn: 1. Yes if player is flying for example hacked in vehicle , spawning ammoboxes and such (temp ban, but send us the details so we can investigate as thirdparty - if you do not file a support.dayzmod.com ticket you instead risk getting server blacklisted since we do not know the reason why a certain player is banned/kicked from the server).. Other reasons such as "teleporting" is harder to investigate as that may just be desync. 2. Negative, although this is considered an exploit it carries the risk of being applied too widely since it's very hard to police and verify we dont do this at the moment. A solution to this will probably make it in at a later time. I have myself gotten kicked/banned on occasions when entering a server and the server admin was way too paranoid about new players joining in. Updated 17th July: Please file a ticket to support.dayzmod.com with your evidence about people who DC to avoid death. This should preferably be accompanied by playerlogs, timestamp. 3. Yes. But remember that some cyrillic characters dont show up but is valid playernames on systems that dont support cyrillic so dont kick "too often" with this reason. Be careful. 4. File a support.dayzmod.com ticket, have playerID/GUID ready and playername if possible. -

Well. You still break playersyncing, so while we add ARMA X support we also fix a lot of different stuff that you miss out on if you dont update. The game is afterall what "we" make it and we want anyone "volunteering" to run the serverfiles to run the latest versions that we provide. We'll lock out those who dont upgrade eventually, given ample time to upgrade. -

If you're worried, re-download the hive package and overwrite your @hive . If you dont control this, contact your hoster. We offer no thirdparty host support but same rules still apply to everyone hosting :) -

@vehicle desync: known issue, has been causing issues since several versions ago (requires fixes in arma2 client/server) @time desync: known issues, not related to daz version and has happened since way back and is a sign server isnt keeping up with serverside FPS. @ghillie suit desync: seems odd, did not experience this with my playtest tonight. But will require further testing. Most servers seem to run new hive files, but there are a few one out there who dont. The main way to catch it is if you get asked to create a new character or you "warp back" to an older character even though you know you already have a character that should be playable. Solution: go to other server, if you still get the new coasted / itemless character. Click "respawn" and your correct character should be there. -
Ghillie suits are not fixed in 1.7.2.3 (Confirmed by multiple people)

Tested with camo, worked fine all day. The problem is a lot of servers run the wrong hive version. -

We need a few testers to help stresstest our 1.7.2.1 server Download the package from http://cdn.armafiles.info/experimental/AddOns_v1.7.2.1.rar Unrar it onto your @dayz/addons folder . Come to "Dayz - SE 3" and help stresstest. This invitations extends to people who arent afraid of respawning your characters :) Zombies are broken on purpose. They will not despawn properly if a player logout or exit area to cause excessive amount of spawns. // Ander

SE 3 - 6 has wrong timezone since we've been testing in other timezone. Ill fix it later. No fleshed out changelog until 1.7.2.2 later this evening. -
Stepping stone patch for 1.7.2.1 . 1.7.2.2 coming later today :) Just wanted 1.7.2.1 out incase we dont have time to finish up 1.7.2.2 before weekend rush.
