The tool in it's current state only allows players to gut animals; as DayZ is supposed to be as close to a real life zombie apocalypse as Arma 2 will allow, it seems a mystery to me why you cannot equip the hunting knife as a melee weapon to defend yourself against the undead or just shank another player camping in a bush. This feature has already been implemented and displayed with the hatchet, the hatchet technically is a very short range gun, changing the hunting knife to work in the same way could really change how players react in an urban environment where a gun or a hatchet cannot be found, yet a hunting knife can. It was just an idea i thought of when i realized that i couldn't kill a boar in the woods because i didn't have a hatchet and i didn't want to fire my rifle. Give it some thought devs :) -Dean

As the title says :) At the moment we have 3 members including myself. We're very experienced with all the DayZ mods. We're playing overpoch on a mid population server (10-30 players). Our main goals are to create a base and chill. We have a teamspeak server: ts.nano-wire.co.uk where at least one of will be on at all times. We're all from the UK but anyone who can speak fluent english can join us. We play every night. So a friend and i have been playing overpoch for a while now and we both think its time to start up a clan/ squad. We are looking for a relatively large group maybe 15-20 players but we're quite strict on who we want... So i basically have 3 months to play dayz now, i have a lot of experience with dayz (i mean around of 2000 hours clocked xD) I can offer many things to a team: - Map awareness - Good combat skills (all ranges basically) - Leader qualities but can also take orders and criticism - Good base planning, making - Tolerance to sit there making lumber for hours on end :D - Vast game knowledge - And probably most of all.... Dedication Im gonna make this as clear as possible i only want people from central - western Europe (not even gonna consider more eastern guys and most of all no russians). May sound a bit harsh and maybe even slightly racist but i dont really care, too many russians have tried to steal my CD key before and ive yet to meet an arab guy who can speak english well. i don't want invitations to join big clans or big teams because you have to grind to the top if you wanna even do anything (Most anyways...) A bit about me: - I'm English - I'm 16 - I enjoy grinding towards something i can be proud of in games like DayZ - I prefer Mid - Low pop servers just because its less trouble to set up a base but i dont really mind playing on higher pop servers :D - I like to think of myself as one of the more forgiving or leaniant DayZ players... don't normally KoS - I'm a team player, i like to build bases and stock supplies for long term survival.... I only want people who are not going to chase action, i want this squad to consist of team players that all want to build a huge base and stockpile everything... then action begins (unless theres complications whilst building the base). So i was searching the internet trying to find a good private hive server to play on with my friends, and i stumbled upon Conan's DayZ bliss server files and thought what the heck lets make a server,..... and so i did and i was pleasantly surprised with how popular it grew in such a short space of time. The first time i played on it i played with two other friends but kept the server open to the public, I was shocked to find 18 other players join in about 5 minutes..... Some of my friends have stopped playing DayZ, because Halo 4 has come out for Xbox so i am looking for other players to join me on my server, i like to play with little PvP but if having a high amount of PvP is what players want i shall unlock the server to the public. My friend and I are looking to expand our Group on dayz, we have been playing together for about 2 weeks now and have finally decided that its time to expand our group we are intentionally friendly but if the opposing force could be a threat then we will shoot. we are searching for like minded players who play tactically and can also have a laugh. About us: I know some people want to know a small amount about the players they might contact. I have played dayz now for about 4 months and i'm really enjoying surviving the horde. I am a defensive player meaning that i like to set-up camps and defend them from zombies and players but i can also be aggressive and hunt down players if they mess with the group i'm 14 years old but I am a mature gamer and i am very strategic meaning that if a threat is posed i will work-out a plan fairly quickly. So, Tim I'm not sure how much information he would allow me to put on the forums but i will say that he is from Holland, he is an aggressive player meaning that he does a lot of PVP, we are kind of the best of both world I defend and loot whilst he kills things (even though i have way more kills than him on record). Our main source of communication is skype because we consist of two players at the moment. We are looking for players that can play most days of the week. We usually play 6/7 days a week. We dont want players who will join then forget about it and never cone on again. We dont want loud and obnoxious players that shoot when told not to. We dont want squeaky little kids. players above 16 would be great but if you are mature we will accept you. Preferably players from Europe or play between 5-9 PM GTM . I'm a fairly experienced DayZ player and have survived many days at a time I've been looking for some players to survive the apocalypse, I've joined many clans in the past e.g. The BSB Network, and Surviving The Horror. but none seem to fit my playing style, i'm more of a survivalist that a bandit, I don't usually kill on sight but if the other player poses a large threat i shall shoot but I'm asking are there any other players who have a similar play style, i was hoping to find 3 or 4 more players to play with to reset their character, or even join a non-hive server so we can have different characters just something to make a new character and survive from scratch. i would prefer to have British or European players because i live in England and a time zone difference would make complications. So, Me im 14 years old i play dayz most days at around 5pm-9pm (UTC) on weekends i play more I'm a fan of building bases and camps so that would be on the to do list, also finding a vehicle would be nice. i have played dayz for about 3 months now I'm looking for mature players now people that will run around screaming at the top of their voices preferably English speaking, but if English isn't your native language its fine if you only know the basics of the English language.
