I've been playing this game for awhile and I'm looking for something new to do. Right now I just hang out in the main towns looting and engaging bandits. Quite frankly it's a little too easy. My friend's and I are going to try to head up to the NW airfield, but we really need a vehicle first. When we went on foot last time we got killed by some guy hiding in the trees like 3/4 of the way there. I know what I need to repair a vehicle, but I've never even found a repairable vehicle. And all of the items needed seem like they'd take up a ton of inventory space. What are some good tips for finding and repairing vehicles?

I honestly don't think I can play this until SA comes out. I tried playing with my friends today but I couldn't go 10 minutes without dying by clipping through a wall and falling/some other glitch/hacking/disconnected. I joined a server and got kicked for no apparent reason (good ping and not hacking). Joined another server, got hacked and all this random shit popped up on my screen and I started dancing. I switched servers and then ten minutes later got turned into a chicken. That made me lose all my stuff and now we're just trying to recover in elektro. And I was always on servers with <15 people. I played it months ago and managed to put up with it but maybe I got lucky. I'm not gonna play it until SA comes out. I know I'm not supposed to complain because the game is still in alpha and a lot of the issues are due to the engine and the developers can't do much about. And I'm not saying it's a bad game. I just don't understand how other people put up with it. I know I've been told to check out private servers but half the fun of Dayz is running in to random players.

They changed up DayZ a little. You can now make weapons by putting together crowbars. Just head to the NW Airfield and find the crafting bench. Make sure to pick up as many crowbars as possible.

Is the new one better or worse haha?

I quit playing DayZ in late August because I was tired of hackers/my GPU broke/started college. I finally got my GPU fixed over break and I want to start playing again, since my friends and I had such a good time playing it even with the terrible hacking. Has the hacking gotten any better? In August it could be near unplayable because hacking was rampant.

It seems like every major building in Elektro has barbed wire covering at least one entrance. I can get into the church MAYBE half the time. And it's the same on almost all servers. Is there some glitch that gives you unlimited barbed wire? I have a toolbox so I try to get rid of it but it's still annoying. Plus barbed wire is pretty much useless so I don't see why people feel the need to put it everywhere.

I've been playing this game for about 3 hours a day over the last week and a half and have yet to run into a serious case of hacking. One time I spawned in and found about 30 tents blocking off a building which was obviously hacking. Another time I killed a guy who had a hacked gun. The only other time I've seen a hacker was when my friend picked up an AS50 with an IR site (I think it was IR). I've yet to be killed by one. So I guess my question is, where are they all? I see so many threads about them and I know they're a problem, but I never run into them. Do they mostly go in crowded servers? I play in US servers with between 10-30 people.

If it's being released this year they won't be spending much time on development. I love the game but I think $15 at alpha, $20 at beta, and $30-$35 for the full release is more than fair.

So is it a lot worse than just picking up a hacked weapon?

I had one for awhile and the ammo isn't too hard to find. After a few hours of playing I had 6 mags. Just loot firestations.

I've got a Mountain Dew. What's the best I could get out of a trade with it? I'm trying to decide if it's worth attempting a trade.

If they don't yell "friendly" I'm killing them right away. Most people do yell so I let them live. If they're a fresh spawn I'll try to help them out as much as I can.

Like the topic says, what does your ideal server have on? I didn't include death messages in the poll because pretty much every server has them on (and it wouldn't let me). My ideal server is no nameplates, third person on, and I crosshairs on.

I got a message in game today that said BattlEye had been updated to better prevent scripts (or something like that). Has anyone seen this message or noticed a difference?

How far will two jerry cans get me in a helicopter?

Sounds hackerish but could be legit. The the AS50 can do over 100k damage and so can the rocket launcher.

Is it an m14x? If so that's what I'm running :)
