    Realistic interaction with vehicles.

The stand alone is going to have some ragdoll physics, rather than death animations, so this request should be covered already. With the RV engine (what Arma uses) there is always going to be a slight amount of latency, but thats part of the charm of the engine IMO.
  2. So the whole idea is that we play on Drifters server and Drifter himself spawns us in lots of gear and then we head out with the expressed intent of dying to a good squad and letting them get lots of awesome loot for their camp. We tell everyone where we are and what time and they all get on early, gear up and get in position. Makes a nice change of pace to the server, creates excitement and buzz and also makes for interesting youtube videos :)
  3. Im at work right now so cant really respond until later, but i wanted to see more discussion on this, not just from those who have a personal hatred for us. More people = more opinions.
  4. Its quite strange. In every other game, you're praised for being good, in DayZ its almost a bad quality to be good at the game or shoot at people. Never quite understood why people hate us so much. Disliking us I could understand, but a lot of people seem to froth at the mouth when our names are mentioned just because we enjoy playing the squad vs squad side of DayZ.Hell, this weekend we held a big community event on a friends server, set up a bandit camp in Polana and told people to come kill us. Admin spawned us in loads of gear and we loaded up and people attacked us. We had no intention of surviving, we just wanted a fun event where a good squad who could take us down would end up with awesome gear. We're planning on different events as well, such as an Army convoy rolling through a a "leaked" route and letting squads set up ambushes if they want to. We do lots of stuff for the community, yet we're mooks... apparently. Pretty disheartening.
  5. Not sure where you get that from, we just have similar schedules and I have fun playing with Chris. As far as it goes for killing people on Namalsk who are unarmed, we don't do it that often, but try to remember we're also live streaming and do troll gently and have a laugh with the hundreds of people who watch us. You can't take it completely seriously. JackFrags and Frankie play with a theme in mind, to help people, because people enjoy watching those kinds of videos. We've done the same thing a few times, going to the coast and killing people who are camping Cherno and Elektro but people just accuse us of killing fresh-spawns ourself, probably because of our reputation. Little do most people know, the server we play on is incredibly competitive with territories and trash-talking forums with lots of squads who are just as good as we are. So whilst Frankie and JackFrags make awesome videos, the servers they play on we nicknamed "easy mode servers" because there are very few tactical squads, lots of "bambies" and generally you're able to make a better "story" on those servers. We don't make those kinds of videos, we like playing tactically, doing call outs and the pumping adrenalin rather than roleplaying hero characters. There is a squad of about 10 people on our private hive who constantly camp Berezino (on our server Berezino is a potential fresh-spawn location like Cherno or Elektro) and we've gotten into a metric shit-tonne of fire fights there trying to stop them from doing that, as we hate that kind of play style (camping the coast and killing fresh spawns). I get that people don't like our play style, but what I don't get is the personal grudge some people have developed towards us. But, oh well. I'm gonna keep on making videos of me having fun, regardless. I've thought about making Frankie style videos, but it's not enjoyable for me, personally. In regards to accusations of stream sniping. You guys have to understand how different things go down when stream and when we don't. We get killed on streams in certain ways that NEVER happen when we don't stream. People say we jump to conclusions too often, but if you were apart of our squad and could see the drastic contrast between stream and non-stream you'd understand.
  6. You guys shouldn't be playing on name tag servers any way, they're stupid. Also, recognition is a LOT more than just a character skin in real life, its also about the way they walk, body shape etc. And unless Rocket gives everyone their own running and walking animations, we won't have a reliable way of instantly recognizing friends. It might sound unrealistic, but its more realistic than what we have now. It's not meant to be perfect, but simulate us being able to recognize people who are otherwise unrecognisable because of the limitations of the game.
  7. Peripheral dots should be taken out of DayZ, but once they are removed they should be put to better use. Might not be possible until stand-alone, but perhaps using a "hand shake" or some other mechanic we could create a way to recognize people. With the Arma 2 engine, especially in DayZ, you can't recognize someone like you would in real life. In real life I can recognize a friend at a distance by how he walks, his body shape and hair, not just their face. Perhaps up to a certain distance (like 500 meters) and to a limited number of people (maybe 10) you could have the Peripheral dots over peoples faces (I've seen this on some servers, where every vehicle, player, zombie had a dot that wasn't restricted to the sides of your screen). I've even seen red dots for players on some servers, so maybe you could even make the dots blue for people you know very well and green for those you kind-of know? Maybe a hand shake gives you a blue dot, but being around a camp fire upgrades you to blue dot status? This would make it a lot easier during team work intensive moments, instead of hesitating constantly because you don't want to shoot your friends. Of course, it should only possible to see these dots using line-of-sight. Would be a bit much and unrealistic if you could see the dots through mountains and buildings like you can currently.
  8. Just some stuff that happened to me in the North, playing on a private hive with a few custom weapons.
  9. A lot of these probably cannot be implemented until the stand alone, but lets brain storm! So right now, if you're hit by a zombie and in pain, your character uncontrollably shakes until you use painkillers. Personally, in a zombie apocalypse where everyone is either trying to eat me or kill me, I'd be shaking a hell of a lot. Heck, this game makes my hands shake already. I personally think that the "shake" should be put to better use and not so easily curable. Being hurt should make you shake, but also simply being shot at or when you aggravate a larger number of zombies should induce the same effect. Being dehydrated should cause you to lose focus and slow you down. As you begin to become more and more dehydrated, your vision should become tunnelled so you lose peripheral dots and actually lose a lot of your screen. You'll know when you need to drink because of the dark border that slowly creeps onto your screen. Becoming hungry or even starving should effect you significantly as well. The more hungry you get, the lower your max blood should be. You'd literally have to constantly eat to have 12000 blood all the time. I know it doesn't make too much sense that your blood would decrease if you don't eat, but being hungry means you can't take pain as well, so perhaps as the hungrier you are, the more everything hurts. I also think that if you are red-flashing on dehydration or hunger, you should lose the ability to be able to aim down your sights so it becomes hip-fire only and you get the shakes like you would if you are hurt. I think anti-biotics should play a bigger role in the game. Sickness is important and a good mechanic. Being sick should only allow your hunger and thirst to fill up to 50% and your chances of being knocked down should double. Zombies in this game have been a weird thing. They're either too annoying or too easy. Thing is, right now we're just playing with the running speed and awareness variables of zombies. They should have other mechanics that make them scary, such as zombies that are not mobile, slumped against a wall that can catch you off guard by leaping at you. One idea I've had is to be grabbed by zombies, needing a friend to shoot the zombie off of you before you can run again. You can drag the zombie, but only at walking speeds. So you can't let zombies get too close, otherwise you might not get them off of you. I think things like smoke and bottles smashing against walls should distract zombies more effectively than they do right now for this to become effective. There needs to be more ways to avoid zombies and lure them away from you. I wouldn't mind special types of zombies either, but not in the Left 4 Dead sense. Zombies that scream when they see you, which amounts to the same thing as firing an Enfield in the middle of Cherno... you'll get the hoard coming down on you very quickly if those zombies see you and scream. Most of all though, I think there should be less loot everywhere and more decent loot (like food or equipment) on zombies bodies. Right now there is usually more loot than I can carry or find useful, such as food and water and even backpacks. Getting a decent backpack in the game is a big thing, but right now you can get an Alice Pack and not even think much of it because they're so frequent. Reduce the amount of loot in civilian areas, force players to constantly have to stock up to survive, because if they don't keep themselves hydrated or fed, then when they come across that survivor they want to kill, they'll have a hard time. Then it becomes a more interesting game, do I keep this AKM in my back pack to compliment my sniper rifle, or do I take food and water I will desperate need later on?
  10. Hi there! I have 2 cd keys/accounts for Operation Arrowhead, which I use exclusively for DayZ. One of them has been banned with the reason #2e8b and the other is fine. I can't find any information on this code, but its been banned for a while now. I'm a youtuber and streaming and my viewers have watched me play hours and hours of gameplay without scripting or hacking, so I have quite a large number of people who can attest to my non-cheating ways. I don't even disconnect during battles! Any help?

    CryEngine 3 - Possible?

    The ignorance is astounding.
  12. I really like playing DayZ, but knowing its only a matter of time before I get killed by a cheater and, even if I don't, knowing that no one goes North any more because of the surplus of weapons... its just saddening.

    No stary competition.

There is no more incentive to go North. You can get good gear by killing scripters on the hillsides over Cherno and Elektro and, because they're doing it, most other people will assume the same thing. Survival needs to be ramped up. The game needs to be developed. Killing players should be something you do sparingly, to conserve limited ammo (which is in a huge surplus even without scripting) and becoming injured should lower your max blood, so the risk of getting shot or bitten would be greater unless you can get the proper, and very rare medical equipment. DayZ is too easy, despite being one of the harshest games out.

    Spawning Scenarios

I think this would be good for various reasons, but the more I watch and play DayZ the more I realize people just camp the coast. I think having spawn scenarios that spread people out over the map actually gives people a chance to have incredibly different adventures each time they respawn, rather than going through the motions of spawning on the coast. I really hope Rocket sees this.
