  1. Sounds great. Looking forward to joining your games :)
  2. Sounds like just the thing DayZ needs to get it back to what it was originally created for. Would be happy to join your server, I'm part of The Wolf Brigade Clan which has maybe 4/5 regular player, I'm personally based in the UK with a couple of other guys from Europe and a couple more from the US. Thanks

Great post, thanks for the help! Have some beans sir
  5. Hi, I've just teamed up with a guy named Famous 123 yesterday after he put a post on the forum. Currently there is only me and him but we had a blast teaming up yesterday and made some real progress which I haven't been able to do solo (we have a camp / ghillie suits etc). We're currently in the NW quarter of the map and were thinking of maybe getting some vehicles together, extending the camp we're looking to add any one who wants to team up so if yourself and xlevel23 or anyone else reading this would fancy joining up that would be great. I'm from the UK so will be on at odd times for you guys in the States but Famous123 is from the US so he might be on at a more sensible hour :) Heres the original post so you can get in touch with Famous to: http://dayzmod.com/f...ia/#entry708840 Please drop a message to me or Famous if I forgot anything. Hope to speak to you soon! Thanks, Al My SteamID: AlexHoss

    Wanna create "The Militia"

Hi Famous, I would team up with and start 'The Militia' for sure. Likewise I've been lone wolfing for some time and it would be good to start a group/clan for some tactical/team based play as its tough to do within the game itself. I'm currently in the North West quarter of the map between Devils Castle and the Airport. Add me as a friend on Steam and we can use Steam chat to meet up and send me your server details in a message and your location and I will head over to your area. Thanks Alex

    =ATS= is Recruiting International Clan

Age: 26 Ingame Name: Alex Hoss TZ and Country: GMT +0 / England Are you willing to use TS3: Yes Are you willing to use the website when it's operational: Yes What separates you from everyone else ( what are you're specialties) : After lone wolfing through Chernarus and learning the ropes over the past couple of months I'm now looking for a team which are serious about working together effectively and becoming a force to be reckoned with within Day Z and having fun doing so. I'm am more of an infantry role/scouting player that can take orders from the boss and execute them (as well as the enemy) B) to perfection.
  9. Hi Vittuhapy, Just wanted to give you an update on this as it appears there is an issue with the updating of the Servers to the latest patch within SixLauncher where its actually the application which is outdated and not the mod as is usually the case. Not sure exactly what the issue is but I noticed II keep freezing on the loading screen and when I eventually found a game I could join I was spawned on the coast, not my previous location (with all gear still intact). Regardless you may notice that your version is stuck at 1.7.2.4 in the launcher and the majority of the games are on 1.7.2.5. I believe this issue is being updated so Six Launcher can use the latest patch but in the mean time I found something else called Day Z Commander to find games and I find it much more suited to day z and is more user friendly. If your interested the link is at the bottom, simply download the application, install and run as you would SIx Launcher. In the top right corner is a 'version' button, click this and it will let you easily update to the latest version of both ARMA and Day Z, as well as giving you figures on what percentage of people are playing a particular version. you'll see for yourself if you try it but I think its much better than Six Launcher for using Day Z. Hope this helps. http://www.dayzcommander.com/

Where to find Axes (at least!)

Hi Ender, I can only echo what these guys have already said and also say that time and patience are a virtue in the this area. What I mean by that is that I spent a lot of hours when I first started playing the game doing exactly what you described and spent a lot of time crawling through the smaller villages looking for weapons with little success. I would suggest going to some of the larger towns or cities (Electro or Cherno), and taking your time going through some of the buildings like the pub, supermarkets, firehouses and office blocks, this should give you much better results when looting. Youtube videos will help you to recognize what these building look like etc. The more you hit these buildings the more familiar you will become with the kinds of loot they spawn and you will also be able to recognize them from a distance so when you recon a city / village you will know whether or not it has any building worth looting. If your not sure where these cities are, they are on the south coast quite close to each other (10/15 minute run). I can recommend the map I have linked to to help you out, I currently have it on my smart phone and use it whenever I don't have an in game map (although you find yourself using less as your become more familiar with the game map). When you spawn in the game, the bottom right hand corner of the map will tell you your location, find that on the map and use that to navigate to one of the better loot locations (as per the keys on the map provided). This is easier to do if you are on the coast, however if you are quite far inland it can be hard to re-orientate yourself as to which direction you need to go. If you are near any villages they often have road signs in their Russian names (which you can also check on the map as it offers both the russian and english names) and work from there. However if you don't have any decent loot and are quite a distance from the cities, it might be worth letting the zombies eat you and then re-spawning on the coast. Hope this helps, please give me a shout if you need any help with anything else. http://t.fireden.net...012/05/loot.jpg
  11. I'm not 100% sure on this so hopefully someone will correct me if/where I go wrong, but as I understand it the servers have to updated/patched by the admins that own them whenever a patch is released. When using Six Launcher (as I do also), this updates automatically your version of the mod to latest one whenever a patch is released and you load the Six Launcher program. As the mod updates automatically for Six Launcher users and Admins have to patch their servers manually, this can lead to a period where servers are out of sync with the latest version of the mod that the Six Launcher users currently have installed (I believe the outdated servers are shown in orange on the Six Launcher server list, with the servers which match your version shown in white). As a result I don't believe there is anyway you can 'fix' this per se, its more a matter of just waiting for the other servers to be updated by the admins which in my experience normally only takes a couple of days. I am sure there are ways you can downgrade your version of Day Z back to the previous one, but I think it would probably be more trouble than its worth and is better just waiting for the other servers to update. Hope this helps. Alex

    Deer stands?

As these guys have already said, Deer Stands are found on the edges of tree lines. A good map I have used to help find them which has been posted in the forums can be found here: http://dayzdb.com/map I died earlier this morning and have started again specifically going for deer stands. Not going well, so far raided about 7 deer stands in the south west area and haven't found much except random handgun ammo and an empty AK. I don't doubt I'll drop the AK for something of poorer quality with ammo and then start to find AK ammo! Good luck.
  13. Thanks for your help guys. Didn't even realize you could switch the music off. I have now done the same now and find its a lot more immersive.
  14. Hi all, I have been playing Day Z for the past few weeks and have been reading through the forum threads whenever I have had issues with the game or needed any advice. Anyway I love the game and think I might be addicted, but now that I've signed on here I just wanted to say hi to everyone here and ask a couple of quick questions I haven't been able to figure out. Firstly, I was just wondering if anyone knew if the music within DayZ was dynamic based on your characters actions / proximity to zombies etc? I don't think it is, as I have had the ambient music start while I was out in the woods not doing anything I was aware of to trigger it. However when I have been in towns etc, the clanging metal type of music always seems to kick in when the zombies are around and just wondered if it was due to that? Also another thing has happened a few times which someone might be able to help with. On the odd occasion, my character will seem to get stuck in the slow walk (double shift) mode and pressing double shift a second time does not bring them out of it regardless of which stance I change to, although the character can still sprint (pressing 'W' twice) and switch between the various stances. After a while (anytime between 5 and 20 mins so far) the character starts running again. I just wondered if this was a feature of the game such as fatigue or maybe an issue with the game or my connection etc? Thanks and hello to everyone again. Alex

    Stuck on "wait for host"

Thanks Fengshen. Doesn't seem to be working for all people but the 94876 patch worked for me. All I had to do was download the patch and run the auto installer, then ran Six Launcher and was able to join a server after having issues with the 'Wait for Host' and 'Battleye Failed to Launch' messages.
