Well, I must say it has been interesting so far...just one day into the standalone. I had been playing all day...mainly just exploring and chatting with friends. After getting a backpack and some better clothes, I ventured off to find a gun. It was an unlikely spot, but I found a Mosin rifle in a car outside Chernogorsk around the new abandoned apartments or whatever. Before going off on my adventure to the North, I decided to go back to Cherno where I remembered the location of a well...because I wanted to fill my water bottles. It isn't like I had a lot of stuff, but I wanted to be prepared. So...I filled my bottle, yet I couldn't resist checking a few houses for a can opener whilst there. I saw an apple on a table and decided to make it my last meal before leaving the city...however, a man slowly crouch-walked into the hallway of the house and began to take aim at me. I had to react quickly, so I only had time to notice that this guy was fully decked out in military gear. Immediately, I dropped the apple as I closed my inventory menu, and I put my back against the wall adjacent to the hallway so that neither of us could see each other. I equipped my Mosin, and I waited... ...what happened next took place over the course of around 10 seconds, but he rounded the corner and tried to shoot me from the other doorway to the room I occupied. He never expected that I would be ready to fight back, but I managed to crouch and lean so that I could see him before he saw me. As he began to fire, I put one shot right between his eyes. The man stumbled momentarily as he fired a couple shots from his M4A1, but he passed out and died. I don't think my heart has ever beaten faster than during those 30 seconds...it was so unexpected for me at that moment. I looted what I could, but I had "ruined" most of his gear with that fatal shot from my rifle. I buried the body, ate the apple, and headed northbound. It was the best apple I'd ever eaten...and for the first time in a long time, it felt like the first time I'd ever played DayZ... ^_^

Mountain Dew.. Cursed of Luck?

I really don't get it either. Some people literally cannot handle losing gear that they found. I REALLY wish they would consider a closed beta test for the stand alone game... ^_^

A friend and myself decided to go to Chernogorsk for some fun. I had just been hacked on another server, and I was left on the coast with only my ghillie suit (...not even a backpack). I gear up and find a Bizon PP-19 SD at a helicopter crash site. Anyhow, once we were in Chernogorsk, my friend went to snipe from some industrial towers. I went to the fire station and checked it out. My friend spotted a man coming to me wearing a ghillie suit. I shot him good with my Bizon, but didn't react quick enough while he was bandaging. He got me fair and square, and it was fun. However, I got a lucky Chernogorsk spawn. I jetted straight to the fire station, and picked up a Revolver on the way to him. My friend had seen no sign of him at this point. I know my Revolver is no match for the fellow's M240 (...maybe Mk 84 Mod 0?) machine gun. I tell my friend I'm going to lure him out of the fire station and see if we cannot trick this man. Sure enough, he is waiting in the fire station. I run around in circles as he chases me, but then I lure him into the street. As he shoots me down, my friend fire two shots. The first misses, but the second knocked him unconscious behind the fire station wall. As the zombies began to eat him...he hits Alt + F4 and logs. The server restarts, so I didn't get any of my gear back. I played after the restart and got some decent things again. TL;DR I thought we were having a good old friendly battle in Chernogorsk, but the guy just turned out to be an Alt + F4 kid like the rest... ^_^

Here's another machine I just tested on: DxDiag.txt Here are some more screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/3Dujy#0 Lastly, here are some new *hotfixes to get around the graphical issues: - Play with your monitor off. - Keep you eyes closed (...or squint and drink a lot of whiskey). - The last one involves some platypus eyes, two Mountain Dews, and a few sacrifices to the Bean God... *Solutions may not work for everyone, and are not valid in the state of Delaware. Standard texting rates may apply.

Everyone that has tried to log into the game on our server is getting kicked immediately for "script restriction #90" every single time. Somehow, my friend an I have not been kicked yet. We are just sitting in the rain at a camp fire though... I have no clue as to what is going on...

It is hard to call it anything at this point, ya know? I've tested a lot of alphas and betas, but I've never seen an issue like this that was as bad. I played for almost 48 hours, and I only played near barbed wire, dead military bodies, tents, and various military stuff. Sometimes the tweaks we all know about in the settings work, and sometimes they do nothing but make it worse. Lately, it only does it when I zoom into an area that has typical things that artifact. It is not as bad as it was, and varies quite a lot between servers. It even works fine with all of the settings maxed out. It has worked fine with all of the settings on low or default. However, it has also artifacted at times using the aforementioned settings. Also, whoever mentioned manually changing your scene complexity to an abnormally low setting...I honestly think I'd rather avoid the artifacts rather than make it look like a PS1 game...

That was me... As posted a bazillion times, I use an nVidia GTX 580 1GB GDDR5. Many of us still have artifacts with both 1.7.2.4 and 1.7.2.5 no matter what beta. It doesn't matter if I launch with manually, with Commander, or with SU. I have posted the screenshots proving all of this...and people like the fellow you replied to have done NOTHING. Anyone that has ever heard of Google and these forums already knows ALL of the tweaks and temporary fixes. Some people just don't get it... It almost makes me hope for a stand alone closed beta... ^_^

After hours of testing and passing out at my desk, I did a complete reinstall of EVERYTHING lol. I was leaving the tents in Stary Sobor, and my friend said he wanted to check the grocery store. I kept a lookout on a hill, and I got artifacts once I scoped in with my M14 AIM. Basically, after more than a day, I've finally got some artifacting still appearing.

Same here...at a certain point it seems like none of the old fixes work anymore. Even with SU and Commander uninstalled, it still messes up from time to time, but I guess I've just been lucky on these two servers I've played on so far... I haven't had anything artifact since last night. EDIT: @ATOJAR: Yeah, and apparently it is impossible for someone to have enjoyed ARMA and DAYZ?

I've tested 1.7.2.4 and 1.7.2.5 with every beta that has been released between 95417 and 95883. I've done this on Windows 64bit and 32bit. I am currently doing a fresh install of Steam and all of the ARMA and DAYZ stuff. I've frequented the places where the graphical errors are most prevalent. I've recorded video and taken screenshots, and sent in bug reports as any tester should. What have you done besides be a hypocritical troll? You get mad about getting called a name, yet you call everyone a sheep? Oh, and what have you done? EDIT: If it weren't for the few people that are actually testing and trying to help others, I'd wish for this thread just to be locked.

No one likes the bugs you imbecile. However, instead of bitching about it, we put on our big boy pants and try to test the game with as many different variables as possible. You, on the other hand, are just a waste of space. It is people like you that don't help the progress of this mod. Some of us actually try and help resolve the issues seeing that this is an alpha test...

Anytime I can help those that need it, I honestly don't mind. SU is a great tool, but I think some people just still don't understand that the reason it hasn't been pushed out is because Rocket is aware of the recurring graphical issues. I'm running Windows Ultimate 64-bit, 32GB DDR3, GTX 570 1GB GDDR5, and an OCZ Vertex II SSD. I haven't had the graphical issues since early yesterday (...shortly after 95883), but I know they will show up for me eventually. My friend is having graphical issues on the same server that was fine for him an hour ago lol... It almost feels like the more times that I have to do a "work around" fix on the graphics, then it becomes less successful over time in regards to stopping the artifacts. You notice that at all?
-
Rocket said he wouldn't let SU push 1.7.2.5 out until the actual graphical errors were fixed. Since the issues are still a legitimate problem, I think SU won't be forcing any update until the dev. team is able to fix the problem. I can help you manually install if needed, or you can try DAYZ Commander. ^_^

I guess you got artifacts after 1.7.2.5? Mine started like a week after the release of 1.7.2.4, and I haven't had many issues since updating to 1.7.2.5 beta 95883. My friend had some artifacts earlier on our current server. This was at the NWAF, so he logged off. He logged back in and everything has been fine, but at this point, it is all just getting lucky honestly. We were unable to make the artifacts occur in Balota, however...
