    It really comes down to, what kind of zombies are in DayZ? We dont know, we can only speculate tbh. Although they clearly got great eyesight and hearing. You cant just say "because this happened in 28 days later, its what happening here", you simply dont know that. First clue to that would be 28 days later was in brittain, DayZ is russian look-a-like, there a big reason to believe its 2 completely different viruses... I also wanna ask if you have looked at the zombies and how "undead" they look tbh, they are decaying.

    Not a bad idea :) Deffenetly an interesting feature with new elements. He clearly states possible infection and exposure when it rains :) That doesnt sound like "without consequenses"
  4. Well the arma toturials arent everything, just a small start hehe. I to love the inventory system, except when the server lags up and shit starts dupping or "glithes" away -_- Love tha fact that you need to stop and open your bag for everything, very immersive and forces you to think twice about going into the bag, but it could use some work to polish it heh. As for balota buddies, they have a very clear idea of where they want theyre servers to go, some like it some dont :) But theres so many other private whitelisted hives out there, pretty much 1 for every different kind of player in DayZ, with all kinds of additions or mods. Sleep tight :)

    Rofl used to be like that and then i desided "to hell with it" and since then ive been cutting down people in cities with nothing but a hatchet haha. Its so much fun and its clear to see how scared some people get when an axe hits theyre face :) And since you only have a hatchet, it doesnt matter if you die tbh.
  6. Especially when it says right on the front page "This is your story" hehe. But i guess theres so many ways to implement RP and clues about the past and what really happened, the dev team seem to be pretty creative with some of the ideas, so i dont think a standard SP campaign is even on the table tbh :) Still want my lore haha, at least a awsome splash sequense with clues and hints :)
  7. Think he means, its ment to be hard, if you want easy theres plentyof other zombie games :) Can only agree, but it still needs to be attractive to new players and not to difficult to start with. But hey, thats what arma toturials are for XD they are gold btw, a really good way to learn the game.
  8. As long as we dont stop ourselves from getting more players, you are so right in that sentence heh. It took a while to get a hang of it all, but you felt good once it all came together, because you figured it out and the game didnt help you :) We deff dont want a WarZ "helpmeimanoob" blue loot crap system, to "help" players lol. In that sense, to much hints/clues as to what has happened could make people feel like BI doesnt want them to think themselves.

    Tbh i love the tension in the cities :D Its the scariest places in the entire game, i gotta go there everytime. Sometimes i just sit in a windows and look at people running around hehe, never knowing if they are gonna run into my building. It gets under my skin ;)
  11. Well, been there lol :) Find a good private hive is the best advise i can give you :) Lern to know the players and you will figure out who is friendly and who isnt very very fast heh. Its so muchmore fun to play on 1 server with the same people, then jumping around and never trusting anyone. Just think about it, you actually come to hate some of the other players and since most private hives become a community, people tend to stick around and alot of rivalry emmerges .) Thats what DayZ is about, player interaction and how to deal with friendlies/hostile, not just shooting people like crazy hehe. True that would be alot better then a fixed SP storyline :) Love that idea actually heh

  13. Well im all over tbh, dont have a "home" atm :) Was part of the community admin team over at Pl@net DayZ, but it faded out when the hype went away/bugs got to people heh. I guess most people are waiting for SA or for the mod to introduce somthing game changing.
  14. Sounds very very interesting :) True if they make a strong SP you would feel forced to RP that story, its really a difficult subject hehe. Like i said, we need a story that doesnt affect YOUR story ;) Get cracking haha

True, i wasnt aware they were confirmed, but if they do it right it could eliminate the need for SP story. :) Maybe im just a big sucker for lore, or perhaps i just want to see what Rockets vision of DayZ beginnings are heh, i still think a small SP prelude/campaign would be great heh. But it has to be seperate and it has to be something that doesnt have a huge impact on the story. So in other words, i want a story with out affecting the story haha, tricky :) yeh i know -_- Just imagine playing a random russian waking up in his home and getting ready for work, then spotting z's running in the streets. Then possibly a small "get away" story ending with you being eaten by 100's of z's :) Would be epic haha
  16. I see hehe. What i ment is, i want a prelude. I can make my own story with a prelude easily :) Just a quick view of event, with you ending up on the beach and MP starting. But if its possible to incorporate more RP in MP im all for it :D I can make my own story any day, simply by ignoring SP, but i want to hear Rockets story tbh :) So perhaps campaing is the wrong word for it, coz i dont want the whole story. I want a quick outline of events leading to you starting on the beach. Rockets story in fracments, for you to build on or ignore at your own will.
  17. Hehe thank you :) Can only agree with you, its not a bad idea for the game, but it wont hurt if its left out :) Very true, we dont want DayZ Island rofl. But it seems like you think we meen objectives and story in multiplayer, we dont. It should be a seperate campaign, explaining the beginning of the end. It should not have any kind of effect on MP games, it was just ment as a way of discovering the cause of it all. But i must say i love the idea of notes lying around explaining stuff about the past. ;) Its a nice way to give people more RP options, or just leave it alone if they dont care. Well just because you dont like story, doenst mean the rest 1,49 million players have the same opinion :) But can you honestly say it would ruin the game for you if there was a singleplayer button in the main menu? :) I understand the point with pvp and pve interaction, but thats not the point of the singleplayer we are talking about, its merely a story about how it all came to be. Call it an introduction to the game mechanics, with a story in front of it :) Love that sentance :) I agree with you, we make our own story. But you would still be able to do so, if you dont care about singleplayer it would not affect you at all. TBH its about giving players choices and making the game as appealing to as many people as possible, without compromising the core ideas of the game.

  19. Im having abit trouble understanding. So your saying having a small singleplayer campaing, showing the "prelude" to DayZ would take the point out of the game? Hmm in my world it would only add more of a point to the game, giving people the option to explore what really happened in Chernarus :) And since you most likely DONT have to play any kind of singleplayer to play multiplayer, it would not affect you in any way what so ever. Hmm would hardly call it a waste of time if they "finish" mutiplayer before taking singleplayer on? I see what you are saying, sandbox is the spirit of this game, no doubt. But theres alot of people out there hungry for lore, hence DayZ Origins's popularity. I think all im trying to say is, theres no way a small singleplayer campaign, developed AFTER multiplayer, can lover the quality of the game. If anything it would add quality, because it would be the ideal place to start for new people, wanting to learn the game. Its also an element, which could potentially draw more people to the game, as they arent thrown into crazy chaos with no clue right from the start. Maybe we can compare it to arma, where the multiplayer is the core funtion in arma, but the singleplayer doesnt hurt one bit and its a great place to learn the game.
  20. It would be nice to have a story, particularly about how the infection started and how people got wiped out. Its not priority, we need a working multiplayer game first, and will proberly not be in either alpha or beta, but in final version it would be awsome. Perhaps follow an "important character" in the DayZ story and get a sense of what rocket and the devs feel is the start of all this mayhem. So one would be able to see the society collaps, riots and looting,military powers trying to regain control and failing and finally, total collaps and then a screen saying something like: "DayZ, this is your story" in the end, possibly pointing out you can continue "sandbox" style with your own story in multiplayer. This way people could play the story if they are suckers for lore, or leave it alone if they dont feel like its what they want. Perhaps make it 4-6 hours gameplay, nothing big or anything. There would be no pressure on the community to accept storyline, as it would be optional. It would also be a nice way to introduce people to the controls and game mechanics, smoothing out the learning curve abit. But just to clarify, the multiplayer is most important and should have 100% focus untill its near perfection, then a singleplayer story could be worked on. I see, so the fact that all MMORPG has a story doesnt apply here? :) Thats kinda what RPG implies tbh, having some kind of story line so you can RP your way through. But since its gonna be sandbox, theres no room for story in multiplayer, coz it would restrict it to much. Hence singleplayer campaign. If it was an optional choice, nobody could complain about it being there lol.... (think of 3rd and CH -_-) Ofc there would be complaints, but none justified, if the multiplayer is perfectly balanced when singleplayer gets introduced, just like you cant justify removing CH and 3rd as it is now :)

    Combined with the fact that lowering the weapon is hard to see most of the time really and still only 1 secs away from a headshot. If one want to surrender, one should have the option to do it simple and easy :) I use it alot hahaha. Just bind it, not that big of a deal tbh. And theres plenty of keys not used yet.

    Even if we were to say thats how the virus affect us, it could all be dismissed by saying, if they thought about it like you suggest, they would know you use camo. Or at the very least notice a "wierd moving bush" or learn what camo is. If we also consider the fact that a zombie can spot you from 100 meters distance, its very likely they can tell the difference between a bush and a human in camo. Remember the virus makes then go into a killing frenzy, completely focused on humans and nothing else. I dont think zombies use any kind of reasoning or think on any lvl. In my world its subconcious leftovers that are keeping them alive and walking/running. This would also mean they dont think about a person being there or not, they just run for it instant, kinda like they do now. The subconciousness might even store some kind of information about human behavior, movement and other stuff. LOS should be the only way to safely hide one self from zombies, it just seems wrong a guy can stand in the open and hide, simply by putting on a ghuille, while the other guy gets spottet from 100 meters hehe. Another thing to consider, if the guille needs "buffing" like this, the vision need some serious imparing, you need to be slower with it on and it needs to have overheating capabilities. Its already a monster advantage over any other player who doesnt have one, why make it give advantages against zombies aswell?? That should be the only place where everybody is equal at all times tbh :)

    Lol i might have mixed em, sry :/ Been trying to find evidence that a Enfield can auto eject clips aswell, but cant find it. EDIT: It does say it uses single shots or a "5 round charger". Wonder if it auto ejects the 5 rounds mag or. It also loads from the top like the M1. Again it could be an old version of the rifle as theres 13 different models, im not that into guns hehe.

    Just look back at all the zombie movies and games, theres been made so far. Its extremely rare to see someone say "Here put this piece of grass on your back and crawl through that pack of zombies, they cant see you" or "Here have this camo t-shirt, its like Harry's invisibliity cloak against zombies" ;) As for camo, if anything it should not change a thing, as your arms and head is not camoflages, which is enough to make you very visible.
