Thats why i wrote "traditional". But the misinformation was refering to the fact that the devs call it an infected, yet people insist its a zombie. But what ever mate, call em zombies if you want, im still going with what the actual developer says. No need to discuss it further, as im apperently immature and stupid.
-
Was just trying to get you to understand what ROCKET has said about the infected (NOT zombies) in the game we are talking about...... Differences "Traditional" Zombie - Dead - Walk/Barely move due to rigor mortis. - Rotting - Eat to fill an endless hunger - Only killed through damage of the brain 28 Later Infected - Alive - Run due to being alive (just like in DayZ) - Mindless Rage (just like in DayZ) - Killed like any other human being (just like in DayZ) Similarities -Minor Brain activity (Both of them aren't gonna be shooting guns, driving cars, or skateboarding any time soon) -Friendly/Ignore their infected brothers and sisters -Out to kill/destroy/infect any non-infected But its better to spread "mis-information" i guess <_< And if you want we can call it a sub genre of zombies, but i, and alot i know, would never call them zombies. You can ofc if you want, but i still think you are wrong.
-
You are right. OP is wrong in every sense of the word............... Automatic trains? What have you been smoking son?
-
No..... They are infected, not dead, but alive humans with a virus. http://en.wikipedia....i/28_Days_Later http://28dayslater.w.../wiki/Main_Page So again, it has nothing to do with a zombie, its an infected person, which is alive and breathing. Rocket has mentioned this several times by now, they are NOT dead and they are NOT zombies and we (players) are immune to the virus. Biggest clue ever: They starve to death............ Also do have a look at the Devblog with the motion capturing and tell me he is picturing a "true" zombie, coz he isnt. He even says that in the video. Another source: http://www.dayzrp.co...-dayz-infection Official thread on subject: http://dayzmod.com/f...nd-of-argument/

First of all, DayZ has nothing to do with Zombies :) Its infected much more like "28 Days Later", so most of this "they eat you" and "zombies are zombies" doenst apply here. This is from Rockets own mouth and not something ive just made up. Second, i would like to see a wieder diversity in the "infected", with different clothes and what not, but thats it. The 2nd one with the grenade would not work either, as Rocket has stated several times now the infected have "twitches", meaning they have a lot of involuntary movement, so the grenade split could be pulled at every second after the server starts up.

Get used to it, its not gonna go away anytime soon in the MOD. SA maybe, but we cant say untill its out.
-
You managed to miss the entire meaning of this thread. GJ........ Its not about bragging, its about how you get HUGE FPS. If you have read the entire thread you would see its all a dicussion on HOW to get more FPS, not bragging about anything.....
-
Same for me :) The game runs fine, untill i turn shadows on max haha. It kills my laptop completely. So OP, please take a screenie in the same possition on a crowded server, overlooking Cherno, with max shadows and fps overlay pls :)
-
Uhh yeh, so a rough surface takes more energy then a smooth surface, very nice addition mate. :) But its not for the mod, this is a suggestion for SA :)
-
A part of Arma :) Just launch arma insted of DayZ and you will find it under single player if i rememebr correctly.
-
Just to back LoK up, i know for a fact that the team behind DayZ 2017 is aready full at work with a port of the mod. Its gonna be called 2017 and they expect to have an early version done in a couple of weeks. So theres gonna be unofficial DayZ port on Arma III for sure, its happening right now ;)
-
But i like my cave, do i have to go out?
-
But he wont. Theres no reason to stop it tbh. It would only piss people off and do nothing good. Most of the community devs doesnt get payed either, so its not like it will cost him more money to keep it running.

Bohemia Interactive has never catered to "casual" players, and they most likely never will either. They dont care about people saying what you are saying and thats how they came to be as succesful as they are today tbh. They do what they want, when they want, without you having much to say about it and listen to feedback from the "real" players, thoose who invest an incrediby huge amount of time in the game. Thoose are the important people for BI, not the average casual gamer. Just look at Arma III, theres a million suggestions but not a single one of them will get into the game if the devs doesnt like it. Its not a democracy, when it comes to getting stuff in theyre games really and i love it. Dont get me wrong, DayZ will most likely be a game for many people, but its not being made to make money or cater to the casual player, like most other big companies would have done. Hammerpoint for example.... They are making it because they want to make it, not because they want to earn money. Thats also why they are in no hurry to get it on the shelves, they dont rush stuff just to get it done. Thats what makes BI so amazing, compared to many others. They wont buckle under from the pressure of casual players who want acces to everything without having to invest time in the game. So dont mistake BI for EA or any other "mainstream, new game every year" developers. They arent like that and good stuff takes time tbh.

But in DayZ you dont get eaten ;) So you got it all wrong heh, its not Zombies, but infected. Not dead but living virus infected people. And the players are immune to the Virus, making it quite safe to eat if cooked first tbh. You are right about the vegetable/fruits tho. You need more then one to make a "proper" meal, but im wondering if vitamin defiency will be implemented in any way, forcing you to eat different stuff to stay "healthy" like you would IRL. :)

For you to not take your time to read the entire thread and figure out what its all about.... Jeez..

DayZ Alpha won't launch until launched !
byrgesen replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Thanks for taking your time mate :) It really cleared things up Well they are far far from done with the game, so theres gonna be a whole lot of testing for us really. I will bet they need 1000's of people to do proper testing of loot spawn, zombie effiency and all that aswell, not just the MMO achitecture :) -

Heres where the origional post got the information from: http://www.joystiq.c...l-at-least-jun/ So not confirmed, just "looking into" :) And it looks like its not Kickstarter perse, merely a Kickstarter inspired release model, with possible tiers to opt in to. Still sucks if you ask me, nobody should be able to buy more content in this game. I couldnt find anything else on the subject, but will look some more. -
But its "bugs" exactly like that they want to improve in the SA :) Would you still say no if the damage radius was 100% fixed and worked fine?
-
That would be so awsome, but its not really worth it when you think of the greifing possibilities it brings along :) Every server will be burned down in the first 2 hours of launch lol.

Can only agree. I didnt like it very much when Rocket started talking about Kickstarter and being able to "pledge" for game content, by paying for it. I hope WarZ showed them micro transactions doesnt belong in a game like this. You should simply not be able to pay for progress OR items in DayZ and the dev team should NOT be using things like Kickstarter tbh. They already have a fan base thats more then happy to pay for an unfinished product, so why even consider it. -
Very true, that could hinter the implementation of this. But if the information is stored on the server, it might just be a matter of pulling it to a DB table. Im no big arma coder myself, know a thing or two, but not nearly enough :) I guess its a matter of performance vs. final result and usefullness.

~~~>>>!!!Must See Extremely Well Made Trailer For My New DayZ Let's Play Of Me Murdering People!!!<<<~~~
byrgesen replied to rubycalaber's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
Amazing haha. I cant stop laughing. "thats why i play, coz they loose theyre *shit* and get really angry" and ofc "Please pick me up... OH!!! OH GOD!!!!! hahahahahha. -
Haha its good with some "nighttime humor" :) But i think Rocket is the only one who can tell us if his Infected can hold weapons and use them tbh.
-
Well, dunno how easy it would be. It all kinda depends on the ability to pull variables from a fireplace and store them for future use. Have no idea if its possible in the Arma engine or if its limited when it comes to fireplaces. That seems to be the main issue in the mod, Arma limitation heh.
