  1. Cmon guys, how can you even be angry, because they are trying to fix the issue? Take some days off from the game, live your life, go try "The Outernet"!!!!!!! I promise you its awsome :D

    True, but we are barely scrathcing the surface here. I can almost promise you the game will look different in just 6 months, even though ive got nothing to do with the development. It was the same with Arma 3, for example. It has changed dramaticly, from the beginning of tha alpha to the full release :) On the other hand i could be very wrong, but i doubt it. BI arent known for making arcadish games, which cater to main stream needs tbh :) And i would like to add, the current weapons in the game, especially the M4, are utter BS when it comes to accuracy. Especially if you compare them to the exact same weapon in Arma 2. I think atm they are just adding more content, serious bug fix and configuration of items (accuracy, weapon sway, etc.) will come at a later stage, most likely once we hit Beta.

    Its been out, in what can only be described as a unplayable alpha, for a little more then a month. The devs are even saying dont play it yet, so i think its far far far to early to come to that conclusion mate. It took the mod well over a year to get to what it is today, let the game evolve for a year and we should talk this over again hehe. I honestly think we will see alot of what you describe, in the game, over the next 1-2 years of development :)

    No gamemodes please. We have one gamemode, "Sandbox Survival", thats enough. Make an event, invite players and make this happen, this should be our responsibility to do, not the devs, through gamemodes. We need to create gamemodes and events ourselves. Exactly like we did in the mod, thats the spirit of DayZ, we tell our own story basicly.

    Cars as loot location?

    Unlucky mate :) Ive found almost all my food in vehicles, along with maps, and the occasional piece of clothing hehe.

  8. This is what i expect aswell mate, it does not really make sense to split the entire DB, just for view settings, although it has its plusses :)

    Funny hehe. I feel the exact opposite mate. :) Feel like the mod cater to the arcadish people, where as the SA is going back to its roots haha. Funny thing, this perception.

    I see what you mean, but this was a choice Rocket made, to simply remove every UI indicator and replace it with text. Im sure it was to try and make it alot more dynamic and unforgiving, since we now have sooooo many different texts popping up, giving us a hint about our current condition :) And thats the thing, if your tempreture is low, you will know because you get a hint through the text :) They are all here, if you want to see them: http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1tlllt/dayz_standalone_symptoms/
  14. Im just thinking, if its "that simple" to prevent people from cheating/hacking, somebody would have done it already, somewhere else :) I doubt its just a matter of moving code around really. But hey, im no programmer, so who am i to "piss on your parade" :)

    Horses, the almost perfect "vehicle"

    I dont think this is a bad idea, but in a post apocalyptic world, with raging infected people running around and screaming all over the place, i dont think the horses will ever trust humans enough to let them sit on theyre backs again :) It would be extremly difficult to convince a horse, in such a situation, to be your friend and trust you will do the best for it. Most, if not all of them, would run for they're lives and stay in packs, away from humans, in such a situation. Dont get me wrong, it might be possible to actually get close to one, but to get on top of it is a totally different matter really. Heck, just teaching a horse IRL to let you ride on it can take years and a hell of a lot of training. Ive got mixed feeling about this tbh, dunno :)

    I think its was a great move, but most people simply dont understand the Early Acces Alpha concept, so they are playing the game and complaining about bugs on the forums... Its difficult, because no power in the universe can protect you against the average humans stupidity :) But im excited to be a part of this, as i was excited to be part of the mod development, people just need to remember that exact thing, this is a development process hehe. Dean has had a vision for a long time now, and he finally has the chance to make it come true, very exciting times ahead. And i have to say, a Rust clone? lol, if anything Rust is a DayZ clone tbh, DayZ was here first, and it sparked a giant gaming interest in the concept of survival, so now we see thousand of games being developed, based on this. Theres differences ofc, but the survival idea, is something many games has adopted, after they saw how big of a succes the DayZ mod became.

    Difference between Normal and Hardcore?

    Something along thoose line, but they need to be carefull, so it doesnt turn into "a different game" tbh. It could have a terrible impact on the community and split it, like we saw with the 1000's of mods (exaggerated, but true really) Stick to minor changes, to make it more difficult, but still keeping it the same game, would be ideal.

    Well thank you my lady ;) Its just my honest oppinion, to many people are playing this game, instead of focussing on the actual testing and development, and then they complain it doesnt work hehe. Its a mystery to me tbh.

    I agree completely, females need some "loving" hehe. However, i dont think you will ever see things like: - Being able to adjust body size (width, figure, height, etc.) - Being able to adjust other things like, boob size, but size, etc. For the simple reason, they have to adjust every single animation to accomidate this "feature" and also adjust every single piece of clothing to fit correctly. They could stretch the clothing, like we see in most MMORPG's, but it would not be ideal at all. A feature like this has never been in any of the RV engine games, i simply dont believe it supports it at all. And ofc the "midget hitbox" statement, as SoWeMeetAgain so nicely puts it :) However, they need to make them abit more female looking and ofc get the voices fixed, but im quite sure it will be done :) Im just happy they are actually putting females in the game, was truly disappointed they never made it into Arma 3 :( But for the love of god, dont ever put any kind of stats into the game :/ This is not an RPG, we should not have stats at all, in my oppinion. The only "stat" that should matter, is the player skills, the actual human sitting behind the screen hehe.

    I have this feeling, theres gonna be more differences down the road. Im having a hard time understanding the seperation of the DB, for nothing but a view preference :) Theres gotta be more to it tbh. Perhaps removing crosshair, player list and other stuff, to make it truly "hardcore", dunno hehe. So far, ive not been able to find any kind of info supporting this "feeling", so its a waiting game, like with so many other things :)

As far as i know theres no official ETA on any kind of private servers yet :) If you have seen the latest announcement, about the saving issues, you will know the big changes to the DB, to implement Regular and Hardcore DB "shards", caused a hell of a lot of issues. So im thinking its gonna be a while before they are gonna be able to provide any kind of stabile private server setup. I mean, if they cant make the public ones work the way it should, how are they gonna be able to make the private servers work the way they should, when its all inside the same DB :) That being said, it appears they are working on the support structure, in the DB, for private servers. So i guess it could be weeks or months, before they do it, none of us really knows :)

    I would suggest you lean back, spend some time on the forums and simply dont play the game yet. Its not a game yet, its not ment to be played, in fact, the only reason WHAT SO EVER to start the game on Steam atm, is for bug hunting, nothing else. Even the devs are saying they dont recommend people play it yet, as its partially broken and lacking so many things from the final "vision" and they know it will break over and over, during the Alpha testing. Remember, they are trying to make the RV engine do things it was never build or intended to do, its "un-tested" grounds for them atm. The fact that you cant find anything, is a clear example of this mate, theres no loot respawns yet, so servers need a restart to get "filled with loot" again. I can understand you want to play the game, but im kinda worried most people dont take theese warnings, which are littered all over the place tbh, seriously. Many people already have several 100 hours in the "game", and i fear theese people will simply loose interest in it, because they did not wait for the game to become an actual game :) Ive got about 25 hours so far, ive done nothing but test certain features and just simply had a look at the game, then report the bugs i came across. Now im not saying you are "doing it wrong", im just saying, dont complain about a broken "pre-alpha" not working mate :D
  24. It has already been confirmed, its not a bug in the patch, server or DB. Its a "unknown" communications issue, most likely caused by a misconfiguration of the OS. At least thats how ive understood it so far, based on theese statements, by Rocket:
  25. This has always been the case for the Arma games aswell, so i think its intentional mate. Every new name, creates a new profile folder, with new configs :) I am not sure if they want it like this in DayZ, but im quite sure thats the reason for this happening :)
