In reality, 200-300 players on Chernarus would be a giant clusterfuck mate :) Even you have to admit it wont be fun any longer. You will not be able to run for more then 2 mins, and then you are shot. People would "magicly" appear everywhere, because they are logging into the server and NOBODY would ever get to live for more then 1 hour ingame. I have to say yes to abit more people (70-80 max) but hell no to 200-300 :) Its simply to much hehe. As for weapons, i think its way way to early to say anything about what types of weapons we are getting, we got such a small amount of guns atm, so ofc theres gonna be very big differences between them, but i can promise you theres gonna be alot more, in all categories :) And who is to say the "awesome high-tech shiny military loot" is actually better in all situations, then "ductaped guns that you built with scrap parts and it has useless attachments that seem useful"? :) Its all about the play style, what you would like to do and how you expect to handle engagements tbh. Will use my self as an example here. Ive yet to pick up an actual gun, found plenty but i left them, because i like running with nothing but an axe :) I like the thrill of having to sneak up to someone and take them down with a melee weapon, so much more then any guns ingame. Thats just how i play and it works quite well for me hehe.

Im sorry mate, but after working with different kinds of people for many years and having followed the evolution of the Internet, i can conclude: The average person is dumb as **** :( Its sad but omg its so true. You and i may know what software release cycle means and what stages of development means, but i can promise you 80% of the entire world doesnt know this. Its the sad truth about our "advanced" society. This thread has so many clues to my claim tbh :) But i have to admit, im truly excited to see what the development of DayZ brings to the video gaming world :) Both in terms of concepts, but also in terms of influense.
-
If you had read some more information in the annoucement section, you would know this is the first step only :) Theres gonna be more differences down the road, to ensure "Regular" and "Hardcore" players are kept happy. Pick one and stick with it, atm its only 1st/3rd that makes the difference, but more will come down the road mate.
-
Rofl thx for the laugh mate ;) You are so right here hehe
-
As i see it, its simply because people want it as fast as possible. So the companies have figured out they can actually make money during development, because the general person is "dumb as fuck" when it comes to gathering information about a product :) So some companies make awsome games and fund theyre development like this, where other companies rip off theyre customers, and make a product for no other purpose then to make money. So perhaps a mix of the ever growing "fast is better" attitude, amongst people in the world and the companies trying to make a good product/ripping people off :)
-
But that doesnt make it right lol... Stick to the topic or start another thread :) its quite easy. Back On Topic: We can sit here and talk, all day long, about how they should or should not have released the game, the fact is, its done :) People need to read up on information about games more, people need to understand what early acces alpha means. In general, theres simply to many folks, in this world, who wants things so fast, nobody has the time needed to make a good product. This is the definition of alpha, a stripped foundation of a game, with giant gamebreaking bugs in it and little to no ingame features. Buy it at your own risk, but make sure you understand what you are buying into :) Coming here to complain AFTER bying it, doesnt make sense in my head, why buy it in the first place then? Patience young padawans :) You will get your awsome game in due time (1-2 years) as promissed by Mr. Dean "Rocket" Hall himself :D
-
Dont even know where to start lol..... 1. Use search, pretty much everything mentioned is already on the forums 2. Why do you expect the devs are gonna listen to this "fine list" and put it into the next update, simply because its you? :) 3. Just..... Spend one hour on the forums and you will find all the thread about all your subject. Damn people feel "entitled" because they bought into an alpha -_-
-
And theres another thread for the exact topic you are trying to derail this thread with, so please take it there mate :) Im just trying to be civil and keep this discusion on track, which you clearly arent. So please take it to the proper thread, and dont derail this one :)

The roadmap, which BI has worked on, is the priority. They have people working on all aspects of the game, and thoose people know what to do. Everything is planned and scheduled, for the next two years lol. Why cant you accept they do it they're way? Why must it be "my way or the highway" simply because you payed for a game, where you were warned not to buy it yet lol? It simply doesnt make sense. Lean back, wait a year and then start complaining about issues, theres been from the beginning, but complaining about the devs "faulty priorities" a months after realising a broken alpha, solely to make people happy, isnt the way to go lol. Nobody is forcing you to buy the game, heck they are telling you not to, and yet you did. So activly help find the issue, instead of telling them what to do. This is not "your right" as a costumer, you are more then welcome to get a refund. Its so difficult for me to understand this mindset, dont tell people what to do, unless you are the actual project manager and have the authority to do so lol. Use your time to find the issues, report them and bring new, innovative suggestions to the table. Help the dev team, instead of yelling and screaming at them, for not thinking the way you do lol. This is a very clear example of " i payed for it, i control it" attitude, most games actually suffer greatly from today, this right here, can kill a game development completely, because people feel "entitled" to something, they have no right to in the frist place. Calm your tits and lean back mate :) Enjoy the ride, instead of throwing up all over the seats and then complaining it isnt cleaned fast enough :)
-
Well, why dont you take your amazing arguments to the correct place mate :) Dont derail this thread pls. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/166649-why-arma-engine/?hl=%2Barma+%2Bengine

Bring your friends together on a server and create a "safe" place tbh. It should not be forced upon us, we should make it ourselves, not the devs. Let me give an example: In the mod, i hosted a server. We had a "Refugee Camp" located on the coast, and this was a "safe place" for new spawn to come and get supplies. We drove around and gathered supplies for said camp, and we defended it against scumbag bandits, trying to steal the supplies from us. There where no rule about it being a safe place, no NO SHOOTING or anything like that, we simply made it safe (the admins and friends) This is what DayZ is all about, this is how you make a "safe place" and this is what you should be doing right now, if you want a safe zone :) The devs have more then enough on theyre hands, they should not do things we players are ment to do. This is my personal oppinion, and i understand some people dont agree, but this is what the game is for me. Complete freedom, to do or dont do, what ever you want, without the devs forcing stuff upon us :)
-
Then report the server mate :) Easy.
-
Simply report the server mate, thats all you gotta do and they will know who owns it instantly :) Read this for more info: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/ All you need is the IP and PORT number, thats it. It is really important, people report even the slightest abussive behavior, far to many server admins felt "safe" in the mod, and now they have no way of hiding. BRING OUT THE PITCHFORKS AND TORCHES!!!

We have the gamemode we need: Sandbox If you want gamemodes, arrange the "games" yourself, right here on the forums. Arrange a CTF tournament, make an ingame item the "flag" and recruit people to compede in such a competition. DayZ isnt a game, where gamemodes will fit in. We the players are suppose to arrange theese things ourselves, exactly like we did in the mod. So if you want a deathmatch, go arrange one, if you want any other kind of gamemode or competition, arrange it on the forums and find people, who will gladly perticipate :) But please dont turn this game into something its not, the "true spirit" of DayZ, is being able to do what ever you want, when ever you want, hence sandbox is more then enough. Im having a hard time understanding why you need the devs to do this for you, when you have all the tools, right in the palm of your hand :) Use them and make something awsome. Let me give examples: I remember competing in a rally tournament, drive from one end of Chernarus to the other. We found drivers, co drivers and bandits to make it more interesting, it was so cool and people had tons of fun. I also remember having a "save the sick guy" challenge, where you where either on the medic or the assasin team, and you had to find this one guy, somewhere in Chernarus, who was sick. So either you cured him and brought him a specific place (medic) or you killed him and made sure he could not tell his secrets (assasins). Think outside the box guys, this is exactly what DayZ is about :D NOT forced gamemodes, the dev's has enough to do, dont make them do this tbh, we dont need it.
-
And yet we have thousands of people telling you otherwise, right here.... Yes some people have gotten to greedy over the years, but its your own damn responsibility to become who you want to be, not follow the stream of braindead cattle, into the slaughter house mate. Who exactly are doing this? As far as i can read the general concent here is: "Be patient, and dont complain about something thats suppose to be in alpha for almost a yer, after one damn month" Am i missing something? Ofc we want content, but it appears most people dont know anything about a roadmap, which companies use to develop theese things. They have a timeline for new content, it will be here, and they have a timeline for bug "squashing", that time will come. Patience guys, nothing truly great gets accomplished in a month, it takes years.
-
Sooo, let me try to understand this, because i truly dont.. You are complaining about lack of progress, from an Alpha, which is a little over a month old and is littered with warnings, telling you not to buy it yet? You are comparing it to WarZ, a game which, as mentioned in this thread, jumped to beta in a matter of months, with no additional content? Do you realize Beta, in DayZ, isnt gonna hit till late 2014? we still have 1-2 years of development, down the road, before this is a "finished" game. When i read thread like this all i can hear is: "Its to slow progress, you should do this and this and this, instead of this and this and this" And im sorry mate, but from reading your thread i seriously doubt you are any form of programming expert... You where warned not to buy it yet, you where told it will be 1-2 years before its done and yet, you have the nerves to complain after a month, of what can only be described as a "giant stress test of the core architecture"? I really think you need to sit down, calm down, and figure out why you lack any kind of patience. No matter how you look at it, it is simply to early to complain about anything. Give BI 6 months and then start complaining about lack of content, if thats the case, but 1 month? really? I think this is one of the core "flaws" in the younger generation theese days. Basicly, they want everything, they want it perfect and they want it yesterday. That, is far from how reality works.
-
Well if people want a server, they can buy one straight away. Neither BI nor the server hosters, are putting a cap on anything. Its called freedom hehe. Which is the way it should be tbh. It isnt the developers responsibility, to asure full servers tbh, they have no chance of ensuring this.
-
Simple solution mate. report report report :) Its against the rules to exploit something like this, expecially if it has nothing to do with the time of the server or the "loot situation. And you can help get the server shutdown and the admin "black listed", with no refund :D Sounds fun doesnt it haha. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/ Keep in mind theres alot of grey areas in the rules atm, such as people getting insta kicked, restart to farm loot, etc. BUT Hicks have been known to take affair in theese matters, if you can give some evidence, or the server logs support your claim. So again: REPORT REPORT REPORT REPORT ALL THE MOFO'S!!!!!!

Theres no reason to derail a suggestion like that, make your own thread about the subject or find an existing one.... Back On Topic: It would be nice to get a headtorch, i use one my self, everytime i go hiking, so i know how valuable it is. But it should not fit on all of the headgear ingame, i think you are gonna have to choose, some helmets or a head torch. Ofc some items it should fit on, but it should be rare items. Like everything else in DayZ, it should have a consequense to it, not something you can use, at all times. Its all about the choices really, do i want a motor cycle helmet or a head torch? IRL it is ofc possible to use it with most kinds of headgear, but it should not be "that easy" in a game like this tbh. Exactly like you are able to use a handgun and a flashlight IRL, but not ingame hehe. My 2 cents ;)
-
Same reason the Police and Military use this lol. Because sometimes its simply do dangerous to talk, you need silence to surprise your target. But this is an awsome idea. Im sure it could get implemented in a 100 different ways, but i would say, cut it down to the 5-10 most needed ones, we really dont need 43 new key binds lol ;) This would most likely not be ideal either, because the situation you are using theese in, often calls for speed. So it should be a simple single or dobbel click of a button, nothing more :) We need to be able to do it swiftly, without impairing our vision in any way :)
-
Theres no reason to "go full retard" mate :)
-
This could actually turn out to be quite a fun stat to have. Imagine it hitting 100 or 1000 lol.....
-
EXCEPT player kills. We should not encourage people to kill players, and thats all a stat like that will do tbh. We should encourage people to do what they want, not point them in any specific direction. Honestly, i would like to see something as simple as two stats: - Total time survived - Current char time survived Both of theese can be in the main menu, somewhere. The rest doesnt really have any place in DayZ tbh. And the food/water consumption is nothing but fun and giggles, no reason to add it really, it adds nothing to the game and is a waste of resources, when we got so much else to do.
-
Perhaps they did some big changes to the loot table, ive noticed an overall lower amount of loot, everywhere tbh, after 0.32 :)
-
If you are banned, its simply to bad. Write to BE, tell them your story and if they have no proof, they will gladly rewoke the ban. If not, well.... Your just gonna have to buy a new game, wont you? Btw its not possible to hack your game, without aquiring your steam information mate, so if you where in fact "hacked" its your entire steam account thats in trouble. Contact steam and ask them what to do. Nobody on theese forums can help you, they have absolutely nothing to do with banning, what so ever, its all on BE and Steam. BE support: http://www.battleye.com/support.html Heres a thread with a guy, who got his Steam account hacked, it will tell you what to do, if that is the case: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2995803 So now you got plenty of stuff to do, and if you, in fact, did never hack/cheat or anything, it should be no problem getting it all back :) But you know what? Its really really really easy to avoid, wanna know how? Dont cheat ;) simple as that lol. I seriously hope they start banning entire accounts on steam, if people cheat in more then one game. Its only fair tbh.
