    Iphone Integration? Cool Idea :d

    Hmm naah. What about people who doesnt have an Iphone? Or the people who simply wont support companies like Apple? Should they be left out, because you want a "gadget"? This is not a good idea tbh, you need to stick around your base and defend it + where would you find power, in an apocalypse, to make something like this happen? It doesnt really fit into an Apocalyptic Scenario mate, its way to high tech tbh.

    The Finished Game

    In 1-2 years i hope to see this game being handled like the other Arma games. A "full release" with contenious patches coming afterwards. As any of the Arma games, it will never hit a fully "complete" stage, but im still hoping they will keep patching it, like they do with the Arma games. Take Arma 2, it was released in June 2009 and they are still updating it, as i write this. They even gathered a Community Team, to help the devs improve the game further, through official patches. Thats one of the biggest reason i fell in love with BI, most companies simply doesnt do this any more.

    Sleeping-And Regeneration.

    Hmm interesting. I kinda like this idea, but im also thinking "do people really want to play a game, where they need to sleep"? Dont get me wrong, its a perfectly realistic suggestion and in a real life scenario, people would most definitely need to sleep, more or less, depending on the situation. But this is a game, and where do we draw the line? Is having an ingame sleep mechanic to much? How would you see this implemented? I can understand the "sleep while you are logged off" theory, posted above, but it will be an inconsistant number of hours slept and at random times aswell, doesnt make sense in my head. As far as a "power-nap" goes, not a bad idea, but this game is run on real time, not "speedy fantasy time" like most other games, so would you actually have a black screen for 10-20 mins while powernapping? If its only for 30 secs or so, whats the point? Ive got mixed feelings here, ive seen this done in at least one of the DayZ mods, and it was for a couple of seconds, to get fully rested, so you would burn energy slower. I just dont like having to sleep for 30 secs, every once in a while, and i truly dont think anyone would enjoy having a black screen for 10 mins. What are your thought on implementation? Im trying to understand, but its hard hehe. :)

    Allow Server Configurable Pve Only

    As much as i hate KOS and people shooting for no damn reason, you cannot take away this core part of the game. Without pvp, this becomes a "State Of Decay clone", and that is not the vision Rocket has for the game. I am personally very much against things like this, which removes choices, rather then adding them to the game. And im quite sure the DEV team would never do something like this, it simply doesnt fit into this game mate. So basicly, keep playing, find people on theese forums to play with and have a ton of fun, or find another game thats more suited for you :) Because this will never happen tbh, and if it does, thousands of people will stop playing the game, simply because it "buckled" under the pressure, like so many other games. Rocket has a clear vision of where this is going, he does things the big companies does not dare to do, and he doesnt care if you are happy or not, theres only one way, for him, to make this "the right way". Perhaps this game isnt for you, you are gonna have to figure it out mate :)

    Neutral Trading Zones - NPC enforcers if possible

    No NPC's. If you want a trade station, gather up some players and create one on a server. Its your responsibility to make it work and make it safe, the devs doesnt have to waste time making a "WarZ" trading post in this game tbh. The whole goal of DayZ is to have a player controlled world, much like we see in EVE online. So start gathering people for your trade station :) EDIT: Just want to add, this is also the way it worked on most servers in the mod, sure some had NPC's, but most of it was completely player controlled and tahts the way it should be. Earn the trust of strangers (like some of the medic groups) through things like a trading station, or a medical emergency team :) The whole game revolves around player interaction, so please dont take that away, by putting "static" NPC's into the game :(

    Questions and suggestions to devs

    One of the big reasons you arent getting a whole lot of info, is because BI was very very good at giving info, in the beginning of the Arma 3 Alpha. Which ment, they gave some vague ETA's, told people what they where working on and showed them what progress they had. Now, this came back to bite them in they're ass, as the vague ETA's werent correct, some of the stuff they showed people, functioned differently then people expected and so forth. That ment BI simply stopped giving regular updates, they stuck to the changelog and pretty much halted all kinds of Q&A on the forums (BI forums). People were pissed, but it was they're own fault tbh, and it forced BI to keep information back. My guess is, thats exactly why they arent telling us "We are working on Zombie AI and this is how far we are" every other week, they simply dont want any information to backfire in they're faces. Dont take my word for it, but this is what happened in Arma 3, and im quite sure this is the reason we dont get updates from the DEV team, until they have something "finished" to show us.
  9. And SSD is awsome for games, which does alot of reading directly from the HDD. AKA every single RV engine game ever created :D SSD will boost your performance in Arma, Take On Helicopters and DayZ, without a doubt.

    Yes theres an option ingame called ATOC, set it to the highest setting and the trees should look alot better :) If it is already set to the highest setting, please post a new screenshot, i would like to see how it looks now heh.

    Render Distance Issues

    Well, if you dont have a decent CPU, theres really not much to do about it mate :( Im sorry but the RV engine cant get enough CPU, it just loves it and wants more and more and more. Ive tryed DayZ on my laptop and its barely doable with a i3 processer (3rd gen), its just not enough tbh, the game wants more juice hehe Although you might benefit from tweaking the object quality ingame, cant promise anything though :)

    suggestion - Large servers and bad weapons

    Well thats why Rocket doesnt want any kind of AS50 thermal weapons in the game tbh :) Its to easy and doesnt provide a challenge for the player. (he said this multible times, during the beginning of the development process) But i see your point about large squads going against each other, not a bad scenario tbh. I just think 200-300 people would be to much and take the survival focus away abit, making it more of a DM game, which (my oppinion) really isnt the true vision of DayZ hehe. Im confident they want more then 40 people on a server, no doubt, but i dont think we will ever see more then 150 tbh. Both because of the impact it will have on "Dean's vision" but also because i simply dont believe the RV engine will ever be able to handle that, along with a couple of thousands Z's :)

    Thats the thing about thr RV engine, you can tweak it for the first two weeks and then all of a sudden you hit "the sweet spot" and its all sunshine and beaches from there ;) Keep at it and eventually you get it right hehe.

    Render Distance Issues

    If you want to do any kind of manual tweaking to the view distance/object rendering, theese are the values you need to change: viewDistance=????; preferredObjectViewDistance=????; They are found in documents/DayZ or documents/DayZ Other Profiles, simply find the file that has your current in game name on it and start editing :) Theres no "golden setting" it is very different from pc to pc, but its a knows place to improve FPS in the Arma games, and since we cannot edit in ingame in DayZ, you have to do it manually. Now one is for the view distance (fog of war basicly) and the other is for object rendering, a general rule is to have the object distance between 2/3 and 3/3 or the view distance :) So basicly, if you have crappy ass FPS, and you have tryed everything ingame, in the video settings, lower the values abit. If you have good FPS and want to see how far your PC can take it, raise them :) Simple as that hehe

    Skateboards?

    Interesting. I am having difficulties seeing how to implement it though, as IRL i cant skate to save my life lol. I would break my leg instantly no doubt :) So how would you go about "the skills needed" ingame? I mean, far from everybody knows how to skate and even less people can skate fast on a board :) Compared to riding a bike, skateboards are far more difficult tbh. Just my 2 cents.

    Well you were on to something, theres a reason you should NEVER throw a spraycan or a gas canister on a fire ;)

    That would be AA and FXAA :) I have to admit i like post process on either low or medium, simply because it makes it look better on my pc. Also, object quality is very important here, it kinda defines how buildings look from afar. Try playing abit with thoose setting and see if it does the trick. I also would not recommend doing to much in the Nvidia Control Panel, as it seems to overwrite ingame settings and sometimes make it even worse hehe. EDIT: Also, i can see you have your FOV set to high, the screen is "warped" in the edges, try lowering it abit to make the buildings in the edge of the screen look more "normal" :)

    Well spraycans should have a small chance of this and they will most likely not kill (possibly depending on backpack type) :)

    Whats your AA set to? Are you using post process effects? I mean, to me it looks alright, but it looks like you are missing some edge smoothing :)

    If this ever gets into the game, you should have to dis-assemble the gun before it fits in the case and re-assemble it to use it again, thus taking alot of time to do it. This should be the only way to cary more then one "main gun" (rifle, smg, sniper, etc.) tbh. And then allow people to use the melee weapons, as they can atm :)

    Correction, it should have a chance of exploding ;) As it simply doesnt blow up every single time IRL, when shot, and ofc it depends on the bullet hitting it, size, weight, material and speed. Its a small thing, but just imagine seeing someone running and you shoot them in the back (backpack) and then BOOOOOM they blow up, because they had a gas canister in there hehe. Good times can be had with it, but im thinking its quite low on the priority list tbh :)
