Report this issue on the bug tracker, it should not happen mate.

Im running it on Windows 8.1 PRO and im loving it so far :) Although i cant say its faster then Windows 7, both should have no issues with the game tbh. And you will most likely not find "the better one" as some others have mentioned hehe. Stick to what you like mate, it all works fine.

Because i like to play it like this, simple as that. It also forces me to play the game a different way, when i know people cant see half the tree i can see, for example :) I can still keep my char alive, even though i cant see through the bushes, its a matter of adapting to it tbh. I guess i dont really care if other people exploit the game, its they're business and they are the only ones ruining the intended fun really. I will play with PP on, full ATOC and terrain on max, all day long, as a happy man, because it makes the game both look and feel so much better :) I will just have to keep in mind other people might be able to see me places i didnt expect, but thats all part of the "gameplay", adapt to the situation you get into. This is also the reason i can spend more then an hour going through Vybor hehe, i simply dont run anywhere anymore. It suits me quite well :) EDIT: Damn my typing is horrible lol, let me correct some of it....

If you want the rules to be regulated, please report the server which abuse the rules :) Without reports nobody can do anything. You cannot expect the devs to keep track of all the server names, its your "duty" as a player to report abussive behavior :)

The "shards" where made in the last patch mate, so we have Regular and Hardcore, inside the same HIVE :) Which basicly mean you are right, just wanted to clarify it hehe. We have 1 HIVE with seperate "shards" inside it. But this should not happen, perhaps its a server setup thing, i dunno. This should be reported in the bug tracker ASAP guys :)

Mine is on medium, i cant get enough of the effect :) If my PC could handle it, it would be on Ultra 24/7, but alas it cannot. Ive always had it on either medium or high in all of the Arma games aswell, simlpy love what it does :)

And im pleased with your work here, all of the mods, it would not be the same without you. Although i did call Inception, "Cuntception" a little over half a year ago rofl, apology. ;) I just hope, with more clear rules and guidelines (much better word tbh) we can "clean" this place abit more and make room for true inspiration. After all, we are all here for the same reason, we love DayZ :D

Its nice to see someone understanding what i mean :) This goes way way beyond simply adding a sticky and telling people to "search first" tbh. Things like this will, hopefully, help change the behavior of people on these forums, and should, hopefully, encourage more constructive talks. I see alot of people here, including myself, doing nothing but "playing police", and it always turns into a giant discusion, simply because theres no official rules on the subjects. Rules are needed :) And they can help change the mentality of people on theese forums aswell. So if people spend less time "policing" one and another, proper discusions can take place and great ideas can imerge :) Ofc its a slow process, but it a truly needed change, to the chaos and dispair theese suggestion forums reek of atm hehe.

Again, i know people dont read them, but it still doesnt change the fact they are needed :) But the fact that you said you would do it your self, proves my point mate. Something has to be done, if any of theese suggestions are ever gonna be looked at. This is one of the most important sub forums, in an aplha development :) New ideas and inspiration come from this place, but they cannot flourish in complete chaos. Well, it might not have a big effect, but look at what effect it had to pin a topic that said "use search function", you could be surprised tbh :) Would also like to add, BI's mods are very very strict, perhaps to much, but it works and it changes the forum into something much more usefull. Talking about the sun lol... I did search and there no other topic on theese forums, suggesting what i am suggesting mate :) So i call bs, on your "claim" :)

Im not only talking about the search function, im talking about trying to organize this entire forum section, so actual proper discusions can take place. When i look at this forum section, my head start to hurt, and what a shame, because we need theese suggestions tbh. The added sticky would help mods guide members in the right direction and help forum members guide other members aswell. Just look at the amount of "Use the search function" posts, the sticky has promoted, something along theese lines would surely do the same :) Im using BI's own forums as an example here, because they got it right. Theres strict rules about everything and it truly enhances both the overall "look" of the forums but also the quality of the discusions taking place there mate. Whats happening here promotes nothig but chaos and people poking other peoples eyes out tbh :) Im simply suggesting it can be changed, and this would be the first step in that direction.

But they still need to be there so the "less dumb" people can point it out to the "truly dumb" people mate. Its a first step in the right direction tbh. Making the suggestion forums actually work, in an organized and orderly manner. Right now, nobody knows anything about whats in there, its just one big ball of crap :)

No..... you missed the entire point, well done.... My point is, we need official word on this, to turn this clusterfuck around and make theese forums usefull again.

I dont wanna be the idiot here mate, but you should not make a brand new thread to suggest things, thats all over the forums anyway :) Chances are, your idea has already been suggested. You should use the search tool, find the threads that "match" your suggestions and post feedback there. This "HEAR MY VOICE PEOPLE" syndrome, thats flooding the forums, arent helping anything at all :( Sorry for being an ass..

Perhaps they are testing how long they can keep it running before a restart is needed? We dont know exactly whats going on, thats why its called experimental tbh :)

FYI, no server owner can delete your character mate. Only people with acces to the DB can do things like this. (devs basicly) And no, kicking for no reason is not allowed either.

Alright let me put it another way. Who the **** are you to talk to the developers of a game like this dude? Do you feel special? Are you special? What makes you so much better then anyone else? Bacisly all i hear you saying is: "I want to lock my server to be able to play with ONLY people i know" which translates into "I want to farm on my own server, with my best friends and go kill people on other servers afterwards"... So you are nothing but a random dude on a forum, raging on and on, because you cant have your little "private paradice" on the public hive -_- The developers can do pretty much anything they want, as long as they dont actually break any laws, so you have no right to claim all you are trying to do. You read (hopefully) all the terms and conditions before buying anything right? You have no say in this matter, you are a costumer, you said yes to what they wanted you to say yes, to be able to rent anything If you dont like being a costumer, shut the door on your way out tbh. The best advice i can give you right now, is to terminate your subscribtion to the rented server, wait for private HIVE and then go do what ever you want to do with nobody but your friends, far far away from everyone else (im assuming this is what you want) Because the things you are trying to do, on a public HIVE, is simply not gonna happen, at all....Follow the rules or GTFO mate, its really very simple. I hope this was "plausible" enough for you lol...

Because this is something the dev team doesnt want. Simple as that mate. Just because you rent something, doesnt mean you can bypass the rules, everybody else has to obey...

I cant say for sure mate. I dont believe you will be banned in DayZ for doing something in Arma 2 (mods or not) simply because the level of security in Arma 2, plain sucks :) They have no way of knowing who the hacker is, all they have is a cd-key, which you can change in 2 mins anyway. With Arma 3 and DayZ, theres a name on the hacker, its tied to the steam account and its full of personal information, so the level of security is much much higher :) But again, i cant promise you wont get banned, i just dont believe you will be, simply because theres no way to connect your steam account to Arma 2, what so ever.

You arent playing anything mate :) You chose to buy into an early development and have a chance og being part of it. You are a tester and should focus on testing mechanics, features and what ever else is in the game, not simply play it :) I understand what you mean, but its so wrong in my world, you cannot play what is not ment to be played in the first place. EDIT: Want to add, dying of starvation over and over again can get boring fast, ofc, but thats what its all about atm :) Test test test and provide feedback, based on the experience. I can bet you the devs knows something is up with the food now, but theres different ways of providing such feedback, as seen here :)

This one sentense sums up this entire thread pretty much guys. Dont "play" a game which isnt ment to be played yet lol. Thats gotta be logic 101... EDIT: Feel like i need to add, this "issue" brought up here is actually what its all about, its just presented in the wrong way. This isnt called feedback, this is called bitching and will get you nowhere :)

This. Ive heard this several times now, people being banned from Arma 3, bought DayZ and was also banned from the get go. Im not sure its the same with Arma 2 though, as it doesnt have the same "required steam connection" as both Arma 3 and DayZ does. Basicly if you get banned in Arma 2, simply change the CD-key in the registry and your good to go again, if you get banned in Arma 3/DayZ, its bye bye to that game forever, on that specific steam account :) I think your best bet would be to contact Battleye mate, write them an email and ask, politely, if it will be an issue or not. Another idea, would be to have DayZ on a seperate Steam account. I also want to add, people who say "They should never be able to enjoy any game again after hacking." are complete fucking retards...... Of course people should get a second chance, same as people doing anything else "criminal", everybody deserves a second change, everybody can learn from they're mistakes. If this is the way the world worked, 80% of the entire population would be in jail for life or executed..... Have some respect for the individual human, give people a chance to improve oneself, and they might actually surprise you. Now do something "criminal" 2 times, hack 2 times, what ever, and i dont give a crap, but EVERYBODY deserves a second chance tbh.
