I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!
byrgesen replied to Bohannan (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
Ehm, no, not really mate. I can hear from your post, you dont know much about BI and thats fine :) But BI has very free reigns, for theyre lead developers and we have seen this in both Arma 3 and now DayZ. Its not about the money for them, and if it was, Arma 3 would have looked like BF4 by now lol. They do it out of passion, and they take they're time to do it right. Dont ever believe anything else :) So basicly Rocket has a ton of ideas for this game and he can do prretty much what he wants (pretty much) as long as he delivers a game he truly likes. BI Have always been known for making "niche" games, and DayZ is a good example of this :) -
Is kicking players instantly from servers allowed?
byrgesen replied to duulis's topic in Server Advertisement
I agree its a "black hole" atm mate. But thats the only rule stating you CAN KICK if bla bla bla. Basicly this means its the only valid reason to kick, ever. We dont need 1000's of YOU CANNOT KICK rules, because its easier to tell people when its allowed, which is basicly never. You cannot expect them to write up 5 pages of rules stating crap like "You CANT kick to make room for your brother in law" and so on. Well my friends, if you do so, you will most likely get reported and your server will get taken down :) -
I think it would have a very negative impact on the game and community, i can already see the shitstorm of complaints coming in :) But it does sound interesting tbh, i just dont know if this is something the dev team wants?

As i see it, this is a feature the devs simply doesnt want in the game. Its quite simple to make an autorun key, but it has been on the "development table", neither in the MOD or now in the SA. I doubt you will ever get an autorun key tbh, and it wont really be needed either, when we get some kind of fatigue and weight system implemented. This is not something Rocket likes :) -
Rolling Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.32.114557
byrgesen replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
This will happen every wednesday from now on :) From 0700 GMT and 3 hours ahead. So dont expect a new patch today, according the the latest experimental branch changelog, Stabile will get the patch between the 5th and the 7th, so it might not happen today. Yes it does, its also part of the Central HIVE, just on its own shard, remember? :) -
This^^ Thats exactly what private serers will bring to the party mate :) You will get your "Ironman Mode", but its called a private server hehe
-
Is it worth owning or renting a Dayz standalone server yet?
byrgesen replied to TheEmgee's topic in General Discussion
I dont own a server, but i used to host a server for the mod, about a year ago. I can say atm theres really not much to hosting a public server. You cant do anything, other then restarting once in a while and kick someone if you think they are cheating basicly. Theres no password, no whitelist, no costumization at all :) So if you want a public server, where you can play, if theres room, and nothing else really, go ahead. If not, wait for private servers to come along and get more rights as an Admin. My 2 cents -

First of all, i didnt make theese rules, so please dont slander me for it...... Second, theese are the rules, take it or leave it, its really simply mate :) Also Admins can check the logs to see exactly who joins when and leaves when, np at all, it even tells them the BE GUID and everything aswell. And no, you still arent allowed to kick someone, even if its your own server. You are only allowed to kick someone verbally abussive, exploting ingame bugs/features or down right cheating/scripting. You are free to rent a server or not, its your choice and theese are the rules you say yes to, when you press "BUY" at the server hoster sites mate. Wait for private server and you will get much more "power" as an admin, but on public HIVE nobody is allowed to do anything basicly :) -
I lost it completely at this one, theres chips all over my keyboard now hahahahahahaha
-
Jesus mate, this is to much now lol.... :D Find someone who can do a near perfect Samuel L Jackson imitation and do some videos together hehe. Would be awsome lol.
-
Are you on the Nvidia Beta Drivers? If not, they are worth a shot and if you are, downgrade to the newest stabile driver and try it again :)
-
Alright i will just facepalm my self for not seeing this lol. Damn, it was the right forum and everything aswell..... -_- Need to pay more attention hehe. Sorry for the crap i spew out lol
-
Yes ofc, i didnt think about the configs hehe. Nice one mate, glad i could help.

Is kicking players instantly from servers allowed?
byrgesen replied to duulis's topic in Server Advertisement
Well..... no :) You can kick if players are being verbally abusive or abusing ingame bugs to gain an ingame advantage. This tells you exactly when you are allowed to kick, no making room for clan mates and no kicking random people just like that :) -
Ahh yes, forgot to ask if its like this with other games :) Ok, so its not, makes it even more wierd lol. Ehm.... Now im thinking, if the TV screen can actually support the resolution you are trying to play DayZ in? Say if the TV only supports specific resolutions (720p, 1080p etc.) and DayZ comes along and tryes a wierd resolution :) Is it possible to start the game on a different screen? It might be because DayZ is trying to run the game at a resolution your TV doesnt know, and it simply makes a blue screen. I would look for another monitor, preferably a PC monitor, and start DayZ and have a go at the resolutions, to make sure they fit the "standardized" ones, like 1920x1080 or 1280x720. You could always install .NET framework, but i dont think it does anything for you atm. Dont think thats the issue tbh. EDIT: Come to think about it, the first time i started DayZ and went to do the whole graphics setup, it has a wierd resolution as standard. It could actually be the problem here mate.

Remnants from the mod ;) We had Heinz Beans, Coca Cola and Pepsi.... Good old days hehe. Now we are left with, pipsi, canned beans (regular as fuck) and the occasional bag of rice. All made in some cheap russian laundry house, i can promise you that!!
-
Hmm ok, that is strange mate. Af far as C++ goes, you cant have "to many" hehe, its never ever a bad idea to have them all. I am gonna suggest you get both the 32 and 64 bit version of the 2008 aswell, i cant remember if DayZ uses it, but it cant hurt tbh. Now im wondering if .net frameworks is needed perhaps.. Ok, so to clarify, are you or arent you using a tv? If so, is it VGA or HDMI you use to connect it? Is the PC set to Duplicate, Extend or Switch Screen Mode, in the monitor settings?
-
Well, lets hope the authors of the maps you talk about are willing to "give them up" for DayZ :) Some might not be that enthusiastic, DayZ is quite a hated game in the Arma universe hehe. Im 99% sure we will see Utes added to the current Chenarus+ map, in the SE corner, but i doubt we will get more islands. Would be nice though, to have 3-4 small islands around the coast line, some withing swimming reach and others far out in the ocean. This would require BI to allow this to happen and i dont think they will tbh :) At least you would have to own Arma 3, in order to play on Altis. Exactly like we see the current Arma 2 maps, ported to Arma 3 and the only "legit" way of doing it, is through configs, binding the two games together. Dont ever expect any standalone map made of Altis, to appear in DayZ Standalone :)
-
Well, if i drink more then 3 cups of instans coffee IRL, i have massive diarrhea for several hours..... Would that apply ingame aswell? :D Jokes a side, why not tbh. We need a lot of "crap", like this, in the game, so people can do what ever they want. Give us 1000's of different items to loot and play with hehe.
-
Alright, well it does fit the minimum requerements, but only just :) Ok, try some of theese things mate. Start parameters can make a difference, theres a few we can try out: If you add this line as launch options in steam, hopefully it should do something :) Basicly it forces the game to run window mode with DirectX 9 ONLY and skip the splash screen in the game. Have you checked if theres a new driver for your GPU btw? Any other driver updates you might have missed? Do you have the visual c++ 2010/2012 installed? EDIT: Btw mate, is there a chance of you providing a screen shot of the before mentioned "blue screen"? It might not help us directly, but if we find a way of fixing it, it could help others in the future.
-
Hmm. Give us some details about your machine mate. Hardware specs? Windows version? GPU driver version? Just off the top of my head, i can think of theese three that would be nice to have answered :)
-
If theres talk about a chopper he sure isnt playing SA hehe
-
I.... Well.... What?? The first thing that popped into my head was "its another game" lol.* Are you talking about the mod? Because we dont have any barriers in the Stand Alone yet, and sure as hell no vehicles yet :)
-
Guys, cant we conteniue from the existing thread? :) http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/163035-beards/ Cool idea, but lets keep it the same place, its so much easier tbh.

Where is it shown when patches are rolled out?
byrgesen replied to nvrsbr's topic in General Discussion
And thats why i said, you should always look there aswell :) What gets the OK in experimental, will reach stabile soon after, so its always a good idea to keep an eye on it mate.
