    Anti server hopping kick detection

    Exactly as Xeauron says, report the crap out of thoose servers. Unless you said something racist or abussive or cheated in any way, they arent allowed to kick you. So theres really no need for a thing like a kick detector, as its against the rules to do so, and we (players) need to report the servers who doesnt follow the rules. If you where legitimately kicked, you deserved it, but it doesnt sound like thats the case here tbh.

    Its been one of tha main goals, since the beginning of the SA development mate. I tryed to find a source, but havent yet, i think its mentioned in one of Rocket's "video logs", but he hass deff said he would like to be able to run the server, without restarts every couple of hours. Perhaps a small maintenance, once a week, will be the end result, i dunno.

    Fists are overpowered

    Compared to the mod, where we started with the Makarov (early beginning) and later with nothing, its a breath of fresh air tbh. Its far from OP, you need to get up close and personal, and anyone with a firearm, who lets you get close, made a horrible mistake :) Thats why you have your body, aiming a gun at them while you cuff them :) Doing it alone brings a much greater risk.

But you cant really compare some missing content, with a gamebreaking bug mate, especially on a game they spend 3 years on, and then started from scratch again (Arma III) :) Its like comparing a herring to an airplane, it just doesnt work. They have been quick to fix game breaking bug, like this memory leak, in both Arma II & III, thats my point. Missing content is a whole other thing tbh.

  6. I see a blank post, thats why i wrote what i did. And yes, im well aware of the twitter accounts, and how much info they spew out there. But im not surprised they identified it, BI is ussually on top of issues like this, very very fast tbh. I guess it depends on browsers/plugins possibly.
  7. Honestly, did anyone expect otherwise from Bohemia...? Ofc they will find the bug, its a serious memory leak. Now, you could have provided some kind of link to the materiel, from which you got this info, instead of a blank post.... So you dont get beans for this, at least put a little effort into your posts on theese forums....

    But the devs are aiming towards not having to restart the servers, in the end "product", so thats a no go mate :) Im just saying, i think it will bring more "trouble" then fun with it.

    Play dead

    Yeh, would be awsome. We would have to wait for the ragdoll implementation though, before they will do anything like this really. (im assuming) It would deffinatly force other players to secure "corpses" alot more, then we do atm. The only thing i can see getting in the way of this, is making some kind of zombie mechanic, for when you "play dead". Obviously this should not make you invisible to them, but it should make you less visible, no doubt. Question is, is this something they want to spend resources on and how many resources would it actually require?

    In order to get them to move it, you need to report it and tell them to move it :) Which ive done now hehe. About the idea, is this something we really want? Will the fences ever "regenerate"? Otherwise it will take aprox 24 hours for every single fence in the entire map, to be broken and useless, for ever basicly. Im not sure this is a good idea, simply because it involves so much more then just adding a wire cutter and make it usable on fences. People will cut everything on the entire map down, within hours, which then leaves us with no fences, for the rest of the entire "game life" :) Dunno, i feel both good and bad, towards this suggestion.

To be perfectly honest, ive hit the walls of my house sooooo many times, i cant even remember anymore (yes i go full retard once in a while lol) And ive yet to actually break anything, or truly hurt my hand. You can punch a wall quite hard, for quite some time, without getting hurt at all. I mean, sure, you get minor wounds and bruises, but it doesnt really bleed and you have to hit really poorly, to actually break something :) Its not the worst idea, but i doubt it will get into the game.
  13. Yes, this is a GIANT problem in Arma, so lets see if they are gonna do something about it in DayZ :) But FYI, nothing has been done about it in any of the Arma games, so dont expect to much tbh.

    Idea for when you get the "starving" message

    I like this idea tbh. Only being able to do it, just before you starve to death and if you then manage to open the can (chance of failing ofc) it should onlly be enough for "1 mouthful". Basicly it should be a last resort option, so if you choose to do this, you loose alot of food (compared to propper opening) and have a risk of hurting yourself aswell. (sharp can edges) It should not be to dofficult to implement either tbh :) +1, with some minor tweaks from here hehe
  15. Yeh compared to the AS50 from the mod, the Mosin is a pea shooter hehe. It fits perfectly into the game and is far from to powerfull. If it could kill someone, with 1 shot to the leg, we could talk about OP, but that is far from the case atm :) I do agree, most of the time its the "easy way" to sit on a hill top with a long range riffle, but thats exactly why people specialize in "sniper-killing". I cant tell you how many times ive either been the one on the hilltop, or been the one right next to him with an axe :) If one person tends to stay in the same area for a longer period of time, he will eventually get hunted by someone else, thats exactly what happened in the mod. So yeh, its easy to just sit there and shoot from 500+ meters range, but its just as easy to sneak up behind this dude and plant an axe in his face :)
  16. Werent we "promised" this from the dev team? I think so. Is this not already happening in the mod? I think so. So why are we talking about this again? We already have official confirmation, this will happen at some point.     New Features?

    But this is a video game mate :) Dont get me wrong, its not a bad idea, but it would turn this game into a Mirrors Edge Zombie Shooter tbh. Im not sure i would like people being able to climb buildings and what not, does that fit into the "DayZ Spirit"? I am also very confident the engine is in no condition to handle anything like this atm, it would require some major overhauls. If every single object needs to be climbable, every single config needs to be rewritten, new animations needs to be made and it would require so much time to do. I dont think they are willing to spend that kind of time and money, just to figure out, it might not be possible within the RV engine :)

    NP, private server will come around soon enough, but theres no reason for the devs to focus on this, when we have a partially working game atm ;)

    You cannot do that yet mate :) Private servers are not supported yet, so your only choice is to go public. But this means, no kicking, no password and no "private playground" :) Theres no such thing as a private server yet mate, thats why public server, which are breaking the public rules, gets taken down :)
  20. Well im simply stating its much more fund to find all this on your own mate, much more rewarding :) Thats why i wrote "But if people want to use it, go ahead." Im not doubting people want to use this, they have been using it since the beginning of the mod. I would never recommend it to any one though, takes away to much of the game and the exploration side of things.
  21. Honestly, you will find the game so much more rewarding if you didnt use 3rd party "cheats" like a loot map sir :) But if people want to use it, go ahead. I can promise you, the game is not the same if you use stuff like this though.

    A new map?

    We have several tools for Arma, in which you can do everything from terrain to models and configs for what ever you want :) The "problem" is, DayZ will most likely not support directly ported Arma "stuff", so if they want us to be able to make new maps, they are most likely gonna have to modify the existing tools, to fit DayZ. I can however promise you, DayZ will always take place in Chernarus, but they are working on the map and they will keep working on it for a long time, to improve it as much as possible. But dont expect a new map anytime soon mate, they spend more then 6 months re-designing Chernarus+ (as its called) for DayZ, so i doubt they will let it go easily hehe. Cross your fingers, that we get proper modding tools and the ability to create new maps aswell, nobody knows just how "modable" the SA will be, but its almost certain it will be no way near as modable as Arma is.

    Trains

    Would be awsome and this has also been talked about many times now :) However, the amount of work needed to make the train actually work ingame (repairing it, finding a TON of fuel and bringing it to the train, etc.) would make it very very very very difficult to actually use :) I would like it though, i just think it will be "reserved" to clans and communities, because of the shere workload needed to make it run. I mean, just think about the hassle of getting a helicopter in the air in the mod, all the parts for it and the huge amount of fuel needed to get it off the ground. At least with a chopper you could put a little fuel on it, fly to a gas tank and then refuel it completely, but it still took a good 15-20 mins, if your 2 people. Now imagine having to fuel the train..... I think you get my idea :) I still like it though, just dont think it will get used that much ingame tbh.
