For me, its the fact that most female characters in MMO's, RPG, and what ever else i play, tend to be better modeled and have far better looking gear available. In DayZ i dont care, because both male and female have the same gear and it looks 99% identical, but most other games tend to favor the females, making them look way better, much more detailed and just more "evil" in genereal :) At least this is my reasoning behind picking a female in some games.

Nope, no character files are saved localy. The only thing you will lose, is your settings (graphics, control binds and such), located in your Documents folder, but you can always backup those and copy/paste them back in there :) -

Knowing BI, i would assume its in the "Arma-Verse" :) If you look at the Arma-Verse Timeline you can see, almost all of they're games are tied together somehow, and background applies to most of them. So i would assume DayZ could be plopped in at some point in the Arma-Verse history, we dont really know if Chernarus was contained during the outbreak or what happened to the rest of the world. But until we get some official statemenst from BI, specificaly about DayZ, we cant really say for sure. Unly speculate :) Uhh just noticed theres a giant gap between the year of 2015 to 2035, and the start of Arma III is refered to as "The Altis Incident". Coincidence or planned?? Am i going crazy? :P -

Glad i could help :) Im just thinking about the list in a couple of months hehe, its gonna be quite big, so using spoilers and colors are a very nice way of doing this. Now, you can have spoilers inside spoilers, but it might be to much hehe, just wanted to mention it ;) -

A spoiler is what i showed you in the other post :) Basicly, it "folds" part of the topic, so its much much easier on the eyes. Example: (Just a quick mockup) Sidearms: So basicly you can wrap the text into a spoiler tag with this code: [spoiler] PUT TEXT HERE [/spoiler]And it will show up like it does in the example i made :) Quite usefull for "giant wall of text" posts, make it so much easier to find your way around. The function is kinda hidden on these forums, which is very bad tbh, but codes always work anyway ;) -
Tbh if an anti cheat bans you for using software like this, how good af an AC is it really???

Its better, but i still think you should use spoilers, to divide the increasingly expanding wall of text :) In two months, nobody wants to scroll through this list, if it stays like this mate, which would be a shame. -
Its a shame they removed the banner, in the top of the forums, with this info. It should be a static banner tbh. Stay there for ever. Not everyone knows about the maintenance (obviously).

Its pretty much a never ending, randomly generated landscape, with no object :) Thats simply how BI have chosen to handle "map borders" and Arma III works exactly the same way, but it is under water instead of over water. As far as i know, nobody has ever found the "end" of it, because it keeps generating random empty land, so you can go on for ever basicly. In the mod, all the vehicles placed in this "debug country" where removed at server restart, to keep people inside the map. -

Hopefully they will do like we see them doing in Arma III, and create free DLC's after release aswell :) One of the most beautiful things about Bohemia, is the "never ending" support they provide for they're games, after release. Just look at Arma II, its still being patched and improved and its been almost 5 years since it was released (May 2009) :) Gotta love them for doing the right thing, compared to most of the money hungry developers nowadays. -
I think we will see a tons of different color variants, on pretty much all the gear in game at some point mate. The hard part is done, configs are made, the model is made and its functional, "all they have to do" is create a new texture basicly. We might not get it atm, but down the road, this is something rather "easy" to create, because the hard work has already been done. +1, im confident we will get alot more of this, in the future :)

I think it will be really hard to implement something solid, which gives us a chance of counterattacking a "backstab". I really dont want to see anything like we have in BF, get into this game, its simply to arcadish and overpower, to be able to pull a knife from your belt and stab someone, in under 2 secs. I dont see how to implement this into DayZ, while still making it "fair", tbh backstab has always been unfair in games, because its instakill, and all you have to do is run up to someone and click a button. So a no from me, we need other kinds of mechanics then this. I would however like to see the option to "stab with your weapon", as BigMike mentioned. Perhaps have 2 different kinds of attacks, a "hack and slash", as we have atm, and a proper stabbing animation. So you would be able to swing your axe at someone, but also be able to stab people with a bayonet, assuming the weapon is already equipped. No magic "pull it from my belt and instakill" please :)

EDIT: Want to add, the significant gain in going from an older dual core to a new quad core, is that the single cores are faster, by them selves. Thats why you get a performance boost going to the newer i5 / i7, even though it doesnt utilize all the cores equally, one single core is still faster then pretty much any older dual core CPU's.

You might not care about the history from Arma II, but BI does, in fact almost all they're games are tyed into the same timeline, have a look at it, its very facinating. It does matter and thats the story behind Chernarus. Heres the wiki about Chernarus First line says:

The list is getting abit hard to go through, all the text and colors and no real spacing or something, between the different types. I think it would be a good idea to add spoilers to the weapon categories like this: Rifles: Shotguns: etc.... It would make it easier on the eyes, and far easier to find the weapon or the type you are looking for :) Dunno about colors though, thats your job ;) But nice job on the list, it truly appreciated. -
I imagine the current writing on papir system could be adapted, but ofc i cant be sure :) Just a thought, i think i would start there, but i dont have any experience in that level os coding tbh.

Alkohol would NOT work as a substitute for water, it dehydrates your body, heavily, thats the reason you get hangovers mate :) No sane person would ever chose a bottle of whiskey over water in a crisis situation, it will most likely, only make you die faster. Marijuana-Painkillers, is this an actual pill or do you plan on finding the plant around in Chernarus? It could work, but only as a mild pain killer. It would do nothing against a big wound or a broken leg tbh, its just not strong enough. PCP, dont really know enough about to comment tbh, but imprioved strenght sounds very exaggerated mate. Steroids will not cause any effect instantly really, it takes time to build up and for your body to make use of the extra testosterone it recieves. Also, heavy cardio exersice is not recommended during a steroid usage, so running 500 miles a day will make you have a heart attack very fast. Cigarettes, again when running 500 miles a day, it will cause nothing but a shortage of breath and make you run slower. Ive smoked for many years, recently stopped, and it sure as hell didnt give me any warmth when smoking :) Speed will not increase your movement speed or anything like that either, it will make you feel "full of energy" for a short period of time, and make you use up your reserve energy much much faster, making your need to drink and eat much higher then normally. People danse to death using speed you know, for this exact reason. You heart rate would also rise alot, making a heart attack when running so much, very likely. I still dont see any valid reason to put drugs into the game, as any sane person would stay far away from something like this in an apocalyptic event really. Those who doesnt stay away from it, will die off quite fast, so whats the point of adding something like this to a survial game? Theres plenty of other ways to get yourself killed :)

Ofc it was private, the only public and official mod servers, are vanilla ;) But @ OP: You need to write the exact server name, possibly an IP aswell, write down a detailed "story" of what happened and then find a way to contact the server owner. It sounds like it wasnt a global ban by BE, so the only way for you to fix this is to get in contact with said server owner and explain your story to him. If the ban is to be lifted, is entirely up to the admin of the server. -

Well it would be Chernarus+ Llife wouldnt it? ;) I seriously doubt BI has any interest in getting the Altis map into DayZ SA, when they spend so much time working on Chernarus+, exactly like i dont see Chernarus+ getting into either Arma II or III, with full BI support. I also doubt we will see this kind of mod capability for DayZ in the future. The entire point of making this new engine is to "lock it down" and restrict, restrict, restrict basicly. I dont think we will see any "arma scripting features" in DayZ and im not even sure you will be able to turn zombies "off" tbh. If they give people the same options for modding the SA, as we had for the MOD, it will turn into the exact same clusterfuck Rocket "abandoned" and it would server no purpose tbh. DayZ modding, will be very very different and very restricted, compared to Arma-verse modding tbh, anything else wouldnt make sense, after spending this much time making a "different engine". This is my personal oppinion so i might be proven wrong, by some community members or by BI in the future, but this is how i think the future of DayZ modding will be tbh. -

Damn you have to find a new dealer my friend lol ;) In all seriousness, im not sure they should be spending precious recources on something as "stupid" as drugs in this game tbh. It wont add anything major to the gameplay, mostly visual effects and health effects really. A no from me, this is something we can talk about 1-2 months before release, but right now its not needed at all and it would be nothing but a waste of programming time and money tbh. :) Not to mention the bans it will get in the countries around the world. Can promise you Autralia will ban it for sure if drugs are added, and i doubt BI wants the game to get banned "postal style" around the world.

Pretend?!!!!! I have to admit i enjoy this game the most, when im sitting in a bush for hours and watching people running back and forth and get killed, because they are stupid :) That, is entertainment for me haha. I can live in said bush, if i didnt have to find food and water eventually :)

lol....... Far from all are " focus 100% on survive at all cost", mostly are actually just doing it to piss you off and ruin your day. And no, people who do nothing but KOS arent winners, they are losers who chose the easiest gameplay style.... Play as a medic or a hero and see how difficult that is, compared to simply shooting everything. Dont get me wrong, KOS needs to be in the game, but if its all you do, you are chosing the "easy mode" in DayZ tbh. Damn, you beat me to it mate ;)
