    [Experimental]Tactical Bacon Confirmed

Ahh i was wondering when they where gonna throw this beast over from Arma III :D

Integration of ACRE as an option for server admins.

They are already working on the new plugin, to make it work flawless with Arma III so thats not the problem :) And no, ACRE for DayZ will never involve any kind of payment, its a mod and BI will never ever pay any mod developer for something as "small" as ACRE, the only reason Rockets gets payed is because they are making an entire game, based on the mod he created, its very different. Ofc they can make theyre own, but theres alot of clues pointing towards, BI not wanting to do it. Theres many mods people wanted to be a core part of Arma III for example, they wanted CBA with the extended event handlers and they wanted ACRE and ACE features as part of the core game, but BI refuses to do it, simply because they want the mod creators to make it and maintain it, not them selves. That being said it would be a cool feature, but i doubt we will get ACRE for DayZ. Im having trouble seeing the benefits vs the workload at hand, since the dev team already has something ACRE-like planned for the SA.

    Anti-Zombie Bushes

Well tbh it really depends on the method they might use for zombies spotting humans. We dont know how important line of sight will be, we dont know if wind and smell will be important, we dont know anything about the mechanics behind zombie behavior yet :) So theres a chance bushes will be viable hiding places, it really depends on how the zombies funtion tbh.

    Anti-Zombie Bushes

This isnt Assasins Creed, whats next, carts with hay stading at random locations so you can magicly lose agro? :D But seriously, if the zombies spot you running to the bush, theres no way in hell they should lose agro. This should only be viable if you break line of sight and then hide in a bush, although im confident this will happen later when they start tweaking the zombie AI.

Future of Standalone and it's potential

Then you obviously doesnt know anything about Bohemia Interactive mate :) Just because Rocket is leaving, does not mean they are dropping the game at all. Im having abit of trouble understanding why they would stop developing it, simply because Rockets wants to do something else tbh. Heck, BI is one of the few developers left who actually support they're games with patches and more content, many years after release. @OP 100% of what you have mentioned have either been confirmed or already talked into the ground. Use search next time and add your thoughts to the already existing threads.
  6. For me vanilla has always been the "best", most of the other ones are to exagurrated and bring to much crap to the game, along with good features, dont get me wrong, but to much crap :) Ohh and i reported your thread, so it can get moved to the mod section of the forums, where it belongs :)

Integration of ACRE as an option for server admins.

Well theres only one way this would happen and thats if Noubernou and the team behind ACRE, will make it happen. BI cant use ACRE for what ever they want, its completely up to the mod creators, how and what the mod will be used for, especially when we are talking about making a new version of it, that will work with DayZ. However, we dont even have a final fully funtional & supported version of ACRE for Arma III yet, so if this would ever happen, it would proberly be some years before its done. Ofc there isnt, unless you find some bootleg russian server with a bootleg russian version of ACRE, which i highly doubt you will ;) That being said, i would love for DayZ to be fully supported by ACRE, however i dont see that happening, as most of the Arma community hates DayZ and dont want anything to do with it, because of the trouble it brought to Arma. Theres a reason DayZ isnt on the official BI forums, where all they're other games are found tbh.

    Far less experimental servers?

Thats the reason i stick to stabile branch tbh. Its not really worth being on experimental atm, and theres also a very low amount of servers to play on anyway.

    Far less experimental servers?

Experimental servers gets taken down often, at random intervals, for random reasons :) But untill theres some official word on it, we cant do anything but guess tbh. But heres the latest tweet from Hicks:

    Install updates?

Nowhere. It will install it automaticly from steam mate. You dont have to do anything else then buy the game.
  11. Arma II caught my eye, and i jumped into the millsim communities and had a blast :) Did the same with Arma III when it came out, even more in fact, got over 700 hours in Arma III so far and loving it. I did buy DayZ, shortly after it came out (SA), but ive only fired it up a couple of times as i dont wanna make the same mistake i did with the mod, which was play it to much in the beginning and get bored and never really get back into it. I hosted a private server in the mod, one of the first actually, we where quite big, called Pl@net DayZ. Its still one of the most viewed private hive threads, in the forum section actually, quite funny :) Eventually i got feed up with it and split from the community, went over to Arma III. So now im here, again, waiting, again :) DayZ has had its ups and downs, but i will never walk away from it, i love it to much.

    Walking like a zombie

Im just saying, if the zombies spot you as easily as normally, which they should or it wouldnt make sense, players will spot you because zombies will be hunting you :) Especially once we get more zombies, and yes its down the road, but its the end goal, so it should be taken into consideration. I cant see how a player would gain an advantage, when we get 1000's of zombies, littered all over the place, simply because the zombies will still see you and hunt you. In my oppinion, this would be a waste of man-power, because of the extremly small impact it will have on gameplay, compared to many other things.

    Walking like a zombie

Exept the zombies will still run after you, so you cant use it to hide yourself And you will still not look like a zombie, players will recognize you fast. AND this is a suggestion, not a general discussion :)
  14. Because they didnt waste they're bullets on shots they could not make i would guess. Its very possible, just dont empty your gun aimlessly into the air ;)

Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**

You and "your people" are the reason the gaming industry is fucked today mate. All i hear when i read this is: Quality over quantity tbh. And you cant be surprised about the pase, when you know its gonna be in development for nearly two more years tbh. You where told this when you bought it, if you know how to read ofc ;)

    Gun fires randomly

this^^ Ive killed multible teammates this way lol, it just empties an entire magazine into the chest of your comrad haha.
  17. Well, i kinda have to agree, as none of BI's games are actually finished and they keep working on them and supporting them, years after release :) I dont see this as a bad thing though. Take Arma II for example, its almost 5 years old now, and its still getting regular patches to fix/add stuff in the game. Gotte love BI for being one of the few developers left, who support they're games for this amount of time.

    Ladder bug

Yeh ladders have always been the main cause of death in DayZ. They are shifty as fuck, stay clear of them mate...
  19. This should be done tbh. Theres a huge difference between walking in sneakers and wellies, in real life, so why not here aswell :) +1
  20. I see your just waiting for me to put more fuel on the fire and i wont do that hehe. To each his own, i suppose :) I just wish people would skip the threads they dont like, insted of starting something like whats been going on in this thread.
  21. Kiddo.... Im quite sure im alot older then most of the people here tbh :) And what does "you're stupid yourself" even mean? Its a known fact, that people on the internet act like complete idiots, compared to standing face to face to them. Would also like to add, this is not a complete waste of time tbh, the public HIVE needs to function, the way its intended, and for that to happen, people need to follow the rules lol. You might not agree, but that doesnt give you the right to act like your doing atm mate.
  22. But people in real life dont act nearly as much as idiots, as people on the internet do, so i think we will be just fine mate ;) Back on topic: How difficult can it be to follow the rules? Its incredible so many people are willing to risk loosing they're server, just to get virtual loot faster, coz thats all it is, getting loot faster lol. I cant wait for Private servers, so people can dick around and play "Carebear Kindergarden" there, while the rest of us adult, can play the game as intended by BI :) When i say intended, i simply mean no server hopping, no ghosting, no exploits and no cheating.

Things to do in dayZ SA

You forgot the most important one: 6. Observe other players from a bush for hours EDIT: Typo.....

    Green Mountain - Develop IT!

Agreed, but you do realize its not the same people working on the engine code and the terrain right? :) So basicly it could be made at the same time, exactly as we see new items, new towns and engine upgrades at the same time. +1 Give Green Mountain the lovin' it deserves :D
  25. I'll come play with you, love the first person view in this game :) But im kinda hanging back atm. I "overplayed" the mod in the early days, and got bored fast. I dont want to do that with this game, so i dont really play much yet. I want to add, ive played quite alot of Arma in MilSim communities and ive run into at least 10 different people, who would get this motion sickness. So i believe it effects only a very small percentage of the player base really. Most might just be faking it because they prefer 3rd person view, for what ever reason ;)
