    So is it only the handgun? Or do the others have tracers aswell, when only one round is chambered? Just searched on the bug tracker, and theres no report of anything related to tracers unfortunatly. Seeing as i dont have enough info to write a proper report, someone else might have to do it.

    It makes even less sense to be able to turn tracers on and off through video settings, as its bound to be exploitet mate. So i doubt it.

    It doesnt matter what range its at, its wrong to force tracers onto people. Im just saying its a low blow for BI to force tracer onto people. Especially when they have so many years of experience dealing with Arma and VBS.... Where is that quote from? can you provide the source mate? It still doesnt make sense the round magicly becomes a tracer, if you only chamber one, compared to the full magazine, as its still the same round. Its getting abit to arcadish with this crap tbh. Give us a choice of using non tracer or tracer ammo, and all is fine.

    Its there and thats how you spot the exact position of your enemy. It doesnt need to be big or anything like that, this is exactly what gets you killed in all of the Arma games, so why would someone use it here, unless you want to show someone what you are looking at, or if its the last 3 rounds in the magazine perhaps. I doubt its a glitch, but i really hope we get to chose if we want tracers or not tbh. Forced tracers are just plain wrong, i never thought BI would do something like this...

    Wtf BI...... Forced tracers???? If anything we should have two different kinds of ammunition tbh. I dont want people to see my bullets when i fire a weapon, i sincerely hope this is not gonna be permanent. Am i the only one upset about forced tracers? Pvp with forced tracers = a quick death tbh, we need to have a choice. EDIT: Note to self.....

    Well good luck getting them to create a new AI for DayZ mate...... The point is, AI will never act like humans, it will never be as unpredictable as humans and it will never provide a greater challenge then humans :)

    But people will still chose the one who has the most benefits, over any other, in general :) But if theres a soldier class and this class shoots and aims better then the rest, 90% of all players will pick this, simply because they can kill players easier. You might fall into the 10% category, but it doesnt change the fact the rest of the players doesnt think like you do, and will go with the one who can kill other players "the easiest".

    The only kind of single player that fits into DayZ, is a toturial tbh. This is not a singleplayer game, it was never ment to be single player and i doubt BI or Dean ever want it to be. But give us a nice, long toturial, going over most of the aspects in the game, just to give people "a hand" in the beginnning, would not be a bad idea tbh. Other then that, i think you are gonna have to wait for mods to create a singleplayer game mode, if its even possible, as i doubt BI will ever use resources on it. Ohh btw, when i say toturial i also mean a prologue, with background information on the outbreak, what measures has been taken and what not. Although im not sure BI wants that either hehe.

    Wildlife vs Zombies

    Tbh why would the predators thrive without humans, when the world is full of zombies and dead bodies, infecting the environment? They would only thrive if the prey animals thrive, and it would take many many years for this to happen. I doubt we will ever be able to "make friends" with predators, it just doesnt seem viable that they all of a sudden think humans are they're best friends, when they would have killed you a year ago tbh. This is abit "out there" for me :)

    This is not the worst of ideas, but it opens up for MASSIVE exploits tbh. If they make "classes" and one of them is slightly better then the others, nobody will pick the others tbh. What they need to do is make everybody start out the same and then have slowly progressing skills, like cooking food will slowly make you more effecient at it, repairing stuff would slowly make you more effecient and so on. As long as it doesnt affect aiming, shooting or anything like that. Those should be completely player skill based, ie the dude behind the screen should have total control and not be helped by the game. I like the idea of slowly progression, but it should only affect certain parts of the game tbh. Some parts should still be 100% player controlled, so its skill based and you arent being helped by the game to make you better.

    While i agree, it would be a "neet" idea, i would much rather see them spending time on important stuff. The patch notes are right there for you to read, at every single patch, so its not really that important tbh. We can survive with the devblogs comming once or twice a month, and i actually prefer having a longer video about the game, once in a while, instead of a small video at every patch.

    He said tools, not editor mate :D And the tools for Arma II and Arma III is the same atm, so it would be the place to start tbh. The engine might be "old" but its still using the same things, so your statement doesnt really make sense hehe. And even if you where able to actually mod the game atm, how would you play it? We dont have acces to server files yet, so putting the modded items/maps into the server would be "impossible", unless we started hacking our way into the server hosts. We also dont have acces to any private HIVE, so it would be "impossible" to make a persistant world with character and item saves atm. *Its not impossible, but it would require illegal measures to do atm.
  17. Yeh looks really great, im just wondering how much network traffic it will cause, to have to syncronize shadows like that, untop of everything else :) I doubt we will see this in game tbh.

    Well, when you dont make a "mainstream game", we wont have 10.000 full servers tbh. But i understand what you are saying, i just dont want it to be easy at all. Perhaps it should be easier to get a stick for your leg, but then again, it has to be a really thick stick in order to actually hold your leg in place. I also dont think its easy at all to make a splint, from a tree, when you aleady have a broken leg, but i havent done it myseklf hehe. Just s hunch ;) I also want to add, its confirmed we will get disease, loot will be balanced out once it respawns and they want thousands of zombies, so it will get alot harder then it is now. Hell people on reddit is already complaining about the zombies lol, we will see alot of people bitch and whine in the next 6-12 months.

    So? We all started somewhere, without a toturial, without any guide to "hold your hand", thats the nature of this game mate. You have to understand that the people who doesnt want to crawl for an hour to save they're lives, are better off not playing the game, because they will most likely complain about 50% of all the other mechanics aswell. So if people quit the game because they break they're leg and dont want to crawl, to save they're life, i dont really care about them, they can go play BF, COD or what ever else "child friendly" game theres on the market, while the rest of us enjoy DayZ as its ment to be. What you are trying to do right now, is dumb the game down, and i really dont like it. It has to be brutal, it has to be unforgiving, otherwise it will attract to many children and we will end up with "yet another zombie shooter", which isnt the "vision" behind DayZ :) Sorry if im being abit rough, but i feel strongly against any kind of dumbing down of game mechanics.

    The BE master server has nothing to do with BI, DayZ or any of the servers, when it comes to this issue. This is ussually the result of the BE master server going down for either maintenance, updates or ban wave and it has been like this for ever :) So dont blame BE issues, like this, on BI. They have no control over it, and i can promise you theres a reason the BE master server is down.

    :o next time use paragraphs mate, this thread is overwhelming to look at lol. Back on topic: No, keep this in the game, if people want to be an idiot and break someones leg and leave them there, they should have the choice to tbh. This game isnt ment to be easy, its not ment to be 100% fun and sunshine, its brutal and unforgiving. One mistake can cost you hours and hours of work. It was always like this in the mod, so why change it now? Dont see it sorry mate. Tbh ive been robbed a couple of times, and once i was left north of Electro, with a broken leg and nothing but an open can of beans and a water bottle. Sure it was a crappy situation, but do you have any idea how i felt when i finally crawled my way to the city and got my leg fixed? I felt invincible :D This is what i love about this game, its so unforgiving, but when you finally "succed" its the greatest feeling in the gaming world imo. No other game can do that. So i say, just leave it the way its always been in DayZ, its part of the game and it should not get removed, just because some people do it. Exactly like force feeding people rotten fruit has a place in the game aswell. If you find yourself being robbed, you made a mistake and you are gonna have to deal with it, hopefully learn something from it :) EDIT: Forgot to add, im always playing the "loner carebear", i dont kill players, i dont rob people and i dont really go near other players at all. I use most of my time observing others behavior, which is very fun in my world :)

    Server types

    Naah. Even though people want to play the game differently, everybody should have the same terms and conditions applied to them in game. This would do nothing but divide the entire community and create even more work for the devs. You will end up with "Carebear Servers", where you get kicked for doing pvp, and you will end up with "Hardcore PVP Servers", where you arent allowed to do anything else then kill people imo.. This is where the phrase "This is your story" comes into play :) Play the game as you like, but everybody should start the same place and have the same "tools" at theyre disposal.
  24. Just wait until BE has done a couple more banwaves and the price of the game hits 50ish euro. We are gonna se alot less hackers at that point tbh. But theres no reason to "rush" private server development, in such an early stage, because you "where forced to uninstall the game"..... Why where you forced to do this again? You could have played on a different server, you could have NOT given up mate. Throwing the towel in the ring doesnt solve anything, and this rant is exactly what the "hackers" wants to happen. The more people they can pis off and the more people who complain, the more you are feeding them tbh. As mentioned above, this is not the time to play DayZ, we are testing atm, and if you dont want to test the game, simply wait for more updates and find something else to do tbh. But it wont ever be "to late" to introduce private servers. We will get it when we get it tbh, and we can be sure the devs are taking the right precautions regarding "hackers". Give BE some time to really get started and give VAC some time to figure it all out + more and more "loopholes" are being pahtched every day, so it will improve over time.

    Mac OS version?

    BI has never released anything for Mac/Linux before, i believe its the whole "DirectX doesnt work" thing. Now there might be workarounds with DayZ, but im no Mac expert tbh. Perhaps it will be viable on VINE or BOOTCAMP after release, have no idea tbh. And i have to admit, its a very very small market they would open up for, compared to the development costs involved.
