Yes, you really should keep an eye on the devtracker more mate..... This was posted an hour ago. Source: http://twitter.com/Hicks_206/status/448050493487861760

Go to BI forums and read up on it mate, its connected. I know you wil get the "Steam Ticket Check Fail", when steam times out for longer periods of time, but its been confirmed a short timeout will cause BE to timeout aswell, and they have been working on it since the Alpha of Arma III, when they started making games Steam dependable. So we are both right and wrong in this matter tbh :) As far as i know, theres no difference in the BE clients from stable and experimental, at least we have no official information confirming this. EDIT: Ofc i cant find the damn threads where i got this information Nik21.... Im certain i did read it, during the early alpha of Arma III, where this problem was really bad, but ofc i cant verify it now :(

I dont think that will solve your issue. Ive yet to see an actual, 100% working each time, solution to the "BE not responding" message mate :( I think your best bet would be to wait for a new update for BE, only go for very low ping servers and always run steam as administrator, if possible. Perhaps manually add it to the firewall exceptions and possible anti-virus exceptions aswell, it might be blocking the communication, if it doesnt know what BE is. At least it looks like BE is alot less prone to fuck up, when steam is granted admin rights on the PC, i rarely see this anymore at least. But have a look here aswell mate, it might help you: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?134972-BattlEye-Client-not-responding EDIT: Another helpfull thread from the steam community: http://steamcommunity.com/app/221100/discussions/1/648816742423641272/

Battleye errors is, 99% of the time, not caused by the game it self. It can be caused by a corrupt BE installation on your computer, BE client not being able to connect to the master server or steam query timeout :) In Arma III, the number one reason for kicks is "BE client not responding" and its caused by steam timing out for a sec, and then Be times out and you get a kick, even though steam already have reconnected. Now i could be wrong, in this particular insident ofc, but BE problems and lag/desync/session lost issues, almost never have anything to do with each other.
-
Just wait for private servers and you will have exactly that, one character for each server, no transfering items from one to another. But that is not how the public HIVE works mate.
-
Its perfectly possible to do this without that immersion breaking dot in my face, ive done it in Arma for many years now mate, so thats not a valid excuse tbh. The least they could do, is give us the option to turn it off tbh. I understand not everybody wants it to be removed, but it should be a local setting, much like graphics tbh, as it doesnt affect any other players what so ever, its purely preference.
-
There will never be NPC's, its been confirmed several times. There will never be safe-zones, its been confirmed several times. The only way to do what you are asking, is to have a player peform the actions basicly. This game is 100% player driven and it will always be, no NPC can substitute that, not should they tbh. Go create your own safe-zones with your friends and protect them, or go kidnap people like you suggest, its all possible, but it will never be handled by NPC's :)
-
Thats how it works in Arma III when you remove the crosshair, so it should not be difficult to "borrow" that code tbh :) So remove crosshair from Hardcore completely, and only show a "small hand" when hovering over items, but they can keep the crosshair on regular, dont care about that hehe, i dont play regular at all.
-
Yes, but it is not undead zombies, it is infected people, much like we see in "28 Days Later". Official words from Rocket, has always been like this, and will most likely never change.
-
They are living infected people, not undead ;) But Headshots, sure, it should stop them instant tbh, and body shots should kill them aswell. Its fine the way it is, they just need to configure weapon damage towards a more realistic damage tbh.

For the guys with session lost / can't connect issues.
byrgesen replied to [Outcasts]Massacre's topic in General Discussion
Do you have any idea what kind of impact this could have on a "slow" connection? Im talking 1-5 mb/s :) coz thats about what ive got atm. -
As i see it, none of these weapons need "balancing", they simply need to do the damage you would expect them to do IRL. A headshot, with ANY weapon should be fatal tbh, unless you are wearing a balistic helmet and being shot with low caliber rounds imo. There was realism in the mod, based on the Arma weapons, and Arma was not balanced, it was realistic when it came to bullet damage, the same should apply here. We dont need arcadish balanced weapons, we need realistic bullet damage and realistic body armor protection against said bullets, nothing more.
-
Dont get me wrong, i love tracers when you can use them for the correct purpose, ive played alot of Arma through the years, so i understand the value :) I just dont want it made it such an "arcadish" way, especially by BI hehe. But i have to remind my self, this is early development and its "untested grounds" for most of the dev team, so fuck ups are bound to happen hehe.
-
Have some beans sir, this is good stuff :D
-
Yeh true :) DayZ is a rollercoaster of emotions and we both love and hate the game at the same time hehe. Perhaps ive played they're games for so long ive become "damaged" and expect abit to much sometimes, but thats only because they make amazing games tbh :)
-
Hehe and you are spot on, had a giant fight with my x this morning so it kinda ruined my day :/ Never the less, this is sloppy work from BI's side tbh. Im really surprised they would fuck up with this error, i truly expect more from that company, this is not EA or Ubisoft :) But apologies for the tantrum, i could have written up much "nicer" responds tbh, it should not affect you, that i had a bad morning tbh.
-
Well i hope it does something at least, with all the work you put into it hehe. But i doubt it mate :/ Its a bug in the game it self, with the UDP packets: Source: http://twitter.com/rocket2guns/status/446690747535089664 So i dont think you can do anything else then actually wait for a hotfix for the issue tbh.
-
Well they stripped the engine, but theres no reason to remove something you might use later on :) I know its a hell of alot easier to modify code, then to write it from scratch, so BI has most likely kept what could be usefull down the road, in the game. They did the exact same thing when they made Arma III, it had tons of left over from Arma II in the alpha and beta stage, which got removed right before release, so im just assuming they are doing the same here, although i could be totally wrong :D
-
I see what you mean, but as i see it, it should only be a very small chance the bear would not attack you. They are intellegent yes, but they are also killing machines, and they are known to attack humans who enter they're territory, so imagine the stress the beast would be under if it has to defend its territory so much more from zombies. That stress alone would be enough to make it go abit "insane" and attack anthing that enters in territory tbh. At least i can imagine that happening, as they are highly terrotirial animals, especially if they have a cup :)
-
My guess, without knowing anything about it really :D Steam time out.... It happens in Arma III aswell, on and off, all the time, simply because steam looses connection to the "steam main server" and you will not get authentiated, so you get kicked from the game because of it. Although most of the time in Arma III, is would kick you with the message "Battleye client not responding", but it sounds like its releated tbh. Or maybe it has something to do with this: Source: http://twitter.com/Rocket2guns/statuses/446690747535089664 But this is nothing more then a guess tbh.
-
Could it just be leftovers from Arma? I think if you dig abit abit around in the configs, you will find alot of leftovers, which arent being used atm, simply because they havent gotten to the point, where they will "clean the code" yet. Anywho, none of knows atm :)
-
I went mental about it because its BI basicly :) With the experience they have with Arma and VBS (the most advanced military simulator in the world) stuff like this should not happen tbh. Its sloppy work, and i expected more of that company :) So you can say i went "full retard" because they fucked up in something i would never expect of them tbh. Its purely out of love for the company i got angry, they can do damn better then that.
-
Ok seriously whats with the string of recent small patches? [Experimental]
byrgesen replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
Well, its exactly how BI handled the experimental branch in Arma III, so im not that surprised. Basicly the developers just uploaded "finished" stuff to the branch, almost on a daily basis, and then they started testing it out. It could be what they are doing here. -
Ahh ok, well i hope someone is gonna report the issue and i hope BI will fix it. I know i will vote it up. Such a "simple" thing should not happen tbh. A bullet doesnt magicly become a tracer round, just because you put a single one into your weapon :) EDIT: Would still like Gews to provide a link for the quote he wrote though :)

Rent it from one of the official hosts. You cannot create your own server yet, we need private servers for this, so your options are very limited atm.
