    Any friendlies in standalone...?

Sure things :) And yes, im Danish hehe. I also love to do RP. I met this german the other day and he asked me how i was doing, i just said "Look at my clothes mate, im not in the best of shapes, those zombies really tor me up" :) It just add a much much better feel to the game to RP abit, in my opinion. I will pm you my steam name mate, lets get together hehe.

    Any friendlies in standalone...?

Hands down, one of the best experiences ive had in the game so far :) It seems like, at least to me, that Hardcore has alot more diversity to the players. Some RP, some KOS, some are extremly friendly and you meet all of these "types" on a daily basis. Ofc i still get killed, but most of the time its actually possible to talk your way out of it, by offering what ever gear you have to spare your own life. To me, my life is the most important, i will gladly part with ALL my gear if i can stay alive :)

    Any friendlies in standalone...?

I meet more friendly people on Hardcore then hostile people. Just the other day, i ran into this english chap, we where both fresh spawns, so we desided to run to Berezino together. When we got to the construction site, just outside the city, we encountered 2 fully geared guys, which was also friendly. They gave us weapons and food and then the english chap was on his way. I then found out, the two guys where danish, like myself, so i ran with them and we started looting the city. 5 mins later, the english chap comes running through the streets, screaming for help. He was going to Berezino to meet up with his friends, and he did, but they also met a M4 dude, who was very trigger happy. So basicly he then lead us to the M4 guy, which we killed and looted and everyone was happy. At this point we where standing about 6 people in the middle of Berezino, no murder or anything. We split up again, i ran with the two danish guys towards the airfield. Once we got there we started looting the prison building, and suddently one of the guys was headshotted through the windows, facing the hangars. We dropped to our belly and tryed to save him, but it was way to late. Then we heard voices outside the building, it turned out there was 5 people standing right outside the building and we naturally assumed they where the ones who shot us, so we where very guarded at that point. Before we knew it, bullets started flying again, towards the people standing outside the prison. It seemed like the same guy who just shot my new danish friend, so total panic ensued. My other danish friend had to log out for dinner, his entire family was visiting, so i was suddently left alone in the airfield, with at least 5 strangers within 20m of me. The people outside then wanted to come in to the prison, to get away from the fire they where taking, so i was prepping myself for certain death, when that door opened. I yelled to them "Ok, im gonna lower my weapon and you guys can come in". Not 5 secs later the doors opened up and not 5, but 9 people stumbled into the prison, i was seriously outnumbered. It turned out they where very friendly and ment me no harm, we traded some gear and then we jumped on the same TS and started hunting this guy who shot the danish dude. Eventually i had to leave aswell, so i ran for Krasnostav (whatever lol) like a headless chicken, while being able to see the mosin dude, who shot the danis guy, over my shoulder all the way. He was a damn poor shot and missed about 20 shots, before i was so far away he had no chance of hitting me. This event really restored my faith in the average DayZ player and it happens quite often. It was an amazing experience :D

    Soooo about Hardcore

So what you are saying, is you miss being able to peak around corners, without exposing yourself? 3pp peasent!!! The thing about hardcore, is that you cant play it the same way as regular, it will get you killed 99% of the time. A total change in tactics is needed, to accomidate the limited FOV you have.

    Soooo about Hardcore

This is my motivation. 3pp cant get my adrenaline going at all, its not scary, its not intense, its arcadish and easy in my opinion. 1pp can however. I get scared, my adrenaline start pumping and i even scream from time to time. The intensity is crazy and sometimes i even have to log off, just to cool down abit. The immersion is not to be questioned, its simply non exsistant for me on Regular :)

Hero's pick there own spawn locations.

Then you might want to rephrase your origional post mate, because thats not what it says :)

The reason Zombie clipping isn't fixed.

If you know anything about BI, you would know they dont abandon games just like that. You make it sound like BI is EA's missing brother lol ;) Take Arma III for example, they worked on it for almost 3 years, then threw the entire workload in the trash, because they werent happy and started over again. BI is the kind of company who would rather give it more time, then release something they dont like. @topic I forgot all about this thread, its very very important tbh. As i see it, this is the last thing that will happen, simply because its such a time consuming task and its much much easier to tweak zombie speed/damage/agro, then having to go through each and every house, adjusting the navigational mesh like this Stay patient guys, it wont get fixed faster if you yell louder imho, have some faith in the great company that is Bohemia Interactive :)

Hero's pick there own spawn locations.

Can you provide a source for such an outrageous statement mate? Because i have never ever heard any of the developers mention anything along those lines. It would shift the balance ingame and give a unfair advantage to anyone in a "clan", which has been stated several times, is not something the developers want to do. They want the same "tools" for everyone, which means something like you are saying, will never ever happen, unless some poor sod mods it into the game after release tbh. A bandit is someone who will rob you to get your items, someone who would rather "commit a crime" to aquire new gear, then having to scavenge for it themselves. A bandit is NOT a KOS-nab though, keep that in mind, theres a giant difference, at least in my world. Banditry is about honor, think of it like a unwritten code, "the bandit code". Glad we sorted that out ;) @Topic Either everyone gets to pick a spawn point or noone does. Giving an unfair advantage to someone, because of a particular play style is just plain wrong tbh.
  9. A reinstall would deffinatly take care of it, as long as you chose the correct beta to install. But have you tryed to pick an older beta in DayZ commander? Does it still auto update?
  10. byrgesen

    Walk with hands up?

Yup great idea. I can imagine they can "borrow" some of the animation for when you are cuffed and simply apply it to the "raise hands stance" :) +1
  11. Dont mind the no cd-key pop up though, it does that from time to time when you install the beta patches, but it does not hurt your game at all. You should still be able to launch it and play just fine :)
  12. DO NOT install 1.63. Its not backwards compatible with any other patches so the servers wont let you in. So for the time being, dont use the steam Arma 2 OA Beta Patch, simply delete it. You need to roll back to 1.62, as DayZ is running on that. Heres what you do mate: Step 1: Go to your Arma 2 OA directory ex. E:\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ExpansionStep 2: Delete the Folder named "beta" Step 3: Install another beta patch Manually download of beta patch - http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.phpUse DayZ Commander to install it for you - http://www.dayzcommander.com/

    All DayZ Standalone changelogs

Have some beans mate, good job putting this together. Can we expect you to update this thread until final release? I think theres been more patches to this game then people "feel like" theres been hehe.

    Developement time in DayZ

You make it sound like all they have to do is flick a switch that says "fix them zombies" mate. If it was simple and easy, it would have been dont tbh. As far as we know, not much work has gone into the zombies yet, the 1.5 years you are talking about, where used to expand the map, redesign of buildings, create the "player network bubble" and redesign the engine in a MMO architecture, where the clients have no rights within the game. Rocket even stated several times, the reason it kept getting posponed was because they needed to make the game architecture and network bubble work, on a core level in the engine, to prevent abuse and loopholes in it, so thats why it took them "so long" to release the alpha, not because they were working on zombies. What BadAsh means is atm they are working on zombies, alongside many other things in the game. He wasnt talking about what had happened prior to release of the alpha :) If you want proff of this, just read the devblogs on tumblr: http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/archive It dates all the way back to August 2012.

    actions like headbutting/biting

Honestly it would be quite cool, but i think the time and effort that goes into coding such a "feature" isnt worth it in the end tbh.
  16. Did you run Arma II and Arma II OA at least once before you booted up DayZ Mod? Try to verify the game cache on both Arma II, Arma II OA and DayZ Mod, assuming you have all of them on steam.

    Developement time in DayZ

If Arma III development is any indication of how DayZ development will be, we have a long road ahead of us, but the end justifies the means imho. On the Arma III experimental branch, content broke on a daily basis, the game was even unplayable over longer periods of time. But they took they're time and made, what i think, is a great game. Not only content wise, but also performance wise, im getting nearly twice the performance (FPS) in A3 now, as i did in early alpha. Im sure the same will happen to DayZ, but you should all be aware, that BI is not a company known for doing what the public wants. The developers implement content into the game, because they want that content in the game, this was stated several times during the A3 development process and i think its safe to say the same applies to DayZ. This fact becomes even more evident when you look at the A3 bug tracker, the most upvoted requests is not necessarily the ones being worked on. I find this exact thing, to be one of the best things about BI. They dont cater to "begging kids", but if you give them time they can create one hell of a product. Just look at Arma III, theres no other game on the market, which can do what it does, when you look at the shere possibilities of the game and what you can turn it into. Theres a reason we where told it will take almost 2 years, theres a giant pile of things to do in this game, before its even remotely finished and BI knows this. Now lean back and enjoy the ride :D I will just leave a quote from Hicks here for you guys: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/forum/131-devtracker/
  18. Im just thinking back at the "clusterfuck" of abusive admins, we saw when private hives introduced full admin tools for the mod :) Sure some wont do it, but most will, we already witnesses that happen once. Now i never said our french friend would, dont get me wrong, there are honorable admins out there. But theres more dishonorable admins, and the "evidence" of this is already present on these forums, reddit and youtube. Can only imagine how it would look if admins had all the tools they had in the mod, on the SA public servers, because thats is exactly what ProTECK is asking for. Private servers will be the salvation and the downfall of this game im afraid. Salvation in the sence that scripters will have far less places to play around, due to whitelist, password and admins being allowed to kick who ever they want. Downfall in the sence that the public HIVE will be full of the people private server admins dont want to play with. We saw this once before, and the same thing will happen again, unless theres alot more control this time. Unfortunatly, complete freedom on the internet means people turn into jerks :/
  19. Did you verify the game cache after getting the error?
  20. Do you know why theres no control for the admins? Because it will be abused like crazy, simple as that. You cant justify giving full control to the admins, when only a very very very small percentage of them actually follow the rules and dont abuse they're powers. Just look at the amount of "insta kick" servers we already have, thats the only power the admins have, yet they still abusse the crap out of it. It would be like handing children loaded weapons in school and telling them "its only allowed to point at the ground"

    Auto-Detect for Graphics Settings

Its there in Arma III so we can hope it will arrive in DayZ aswell. Although it wont be untill the game is finished, i would assume.
  22. byrgesen

    Something is missing in DayZ

Isnt the "plan" to make bodies persistant object in the gameworld for as long as possible? Im quite sure it has been mentioned, that the current disapperance is a work-around to stabilize the server and nothing else. Ofc i cant find the source, but im sure i read somewhere they want the bodies to stay ingame for a long period of time. Both players and Z's.

    Ladders are dangerous...

Ladders have always been the main cause of deaths in Arma, so dont expect them to "fix" it anytime soon hehe. If they knew how to fix it, it would have been fixed by now, since its been a problem for many years tbh.

How to get back into the game?

Well if you havent tryed going a 40 man server, you should mate. But i wasnt really talking about "issues with the game", was refering to the low amount of content we have atm, which will make you get bored fast. Thats basicly why people are KOS'ing left and right and since you dont want to do that, theres not much for you in the game atm tbh, that was my only point :) As i see it, theres two options: Jump on the KOS wave and do what everyone else is doing to not get bored ingame.Leave the game alone for some months and wait for more content to arrive.Ofc going to a 40 man server might re-ignite your passion, but theres still only a very limited amount of things to do atm. Only go to experimental, if you want to actively play the dev builds and deal with a higher percentage of bugs and errors then stabile. Its not really a place to have fun, its a place of frustration and surprises, since things change on a daily basis and what was working yesterday, might not work today at all :)

How to get back into the game?

Theres only thing to do mate. Wait for the game to release :) 200+ hours in the current state of the game, can make anyone not wanna play it tbh. Basicly you overplayed the game before its even released, i did the same thing with the mod and what a shame really. Give it a year and come back when we got more stuff to do, with renewed interest. If you keep playing now, you are gonna "hate" the game by its release and lets face it, we have only just scratched the surface when it comes to content ingame atm.
