    DayZ going to be 64-bit

Naah, theres plenty of companies who will never require 64-bit windows, so it was the right way to do it tbh. Microsoft makes the big bucks on companies, not private people, so from they're point of view, its all good hehe. Heck, half the people i know wont ever require 64-bit, because all they use a computer for is surfing the interwebs and listening to music or watching films. I do see your point though, it would most likely be easier if it was all 64-bit, from a developers point of view, but honestly i dont know. Following Banished development, it didnt seem like much of a hassle for the developer (a single dude) to write a code so the software could run both 32 and 64 bit, and it would figure it out it self, so i simply dont know :)

500 second wait timer? Rant @ devs

Thats exactly what it is mate, a quick and dirty fix for a much larger underlying problem, which will take more time to find a solution for :) Go one page back and read the post from reddit, by Rocket and you will understand :) Or if you are lazy, click HERE hehe
  3. One could definitely imagine the developers giving more "juice" to they're own test servers, then what they are telling hosting companies to use tbh. Perhaps they are even increasing/decreasing resources on the experimental servers, as part of the testing, to see how they perform and pinpoint exactly what they need to run smooth. I to have no idea, just spitballing here hehe.

Bingo, found this in another thread :)

    Walking F2

Basicly you should be able to walk slowly, while you are doing any kind of "handsign" in my opinion. Be it holding your hands up, "the highfiving hello", flipping people off or pointing, we should be able to walk slowly at the same time tbh :)

500 second wait timer? Rant @ devs

Then wait for private servers and enjoy :) It isnt the solution because it defeats the entire purpose of having public servers. It also severely limits the way we can play the game, because your character would be bound to one server only, making clan fights "impossible" for example. And you would not have a chance of running into new and exciting people, everyday, because it would be the same people on the server, just like private servers in the mod.

500 second wait timer? Rant @ devs

And thats a private server mate. It is not the solution to the public servers, i thought this was already discussed though so.... ;)
  8. Heres what to do mate: Go to C:\Users\User\Documents\DayZIn there theres a file called "DayZ.cfg", open it, either with notepad or notepad++The top line reads: language="???";Simply put in English, and you should be all set :)

500 second wait timer? Rant @ devs

Ahh yes ofc, i completely forgot this. This was also the case in the mod, so why should it have changed that much. If this is not a valid reason to put a 500 secs timer on a server switch, i dont know what is tbh :)

    DayZ going to be 64-bit

Thats because making the game run on 64-bit right now, wont change a thing when it comes to performance :) The difference lies in the amount of functions and ekstra "overhead" it will make room for on the server, freeing up resources on the clients even more. Basicly once 64-bit server is implemented, we will see things move from client to server, as we have seen all along, but in a more productive way, because the server will finally be able to handle so much more stress. Once the server is stabile, i believe they will look at client optimization, but if you have a stabile running server, most clients will run stabile aswell, as client FPS is linked directly to server FPS in the RV engine.

    Who likes the login timer?

It would be fast traveling, if you have set your spawn location near cherno on server #1, and you are in the airfield. You then log off, go to server #2 and maybe even server #3, and then go back to #1, viola, you are in cherno and you made it there in 90% less time then you are suppose to do. I just dont see this system working at all mate, and it would be far more difficult to code, then to keep what is in place now, and just give it a "same server" check tbh. I am not sure, havent done enough coding in the RV engine to be sure tbh. Thank you, i did miss the last bit there about the social mehcanics. Although its very vague and we have no idea what they actually mean yet tbh. But lets leave it at that, its way to early to determine anything, as nothing is set in stone yet and the dev team havent really said anyting concrete about controlled spawns yet.

    Who likes the login timer?

So spawn the same place everytime you change server? That opens up for tons and tons of abuse tbh. Like joining a new server and going back to the old, just to "fast travel" across the map. Yes thats why i said theres no reason to talk about logging into other peoples barricades, as it wont happen or it will break the entire function.I think you misunderstood me there :) Can you provide a source for this? I havent been able to find one and im having trouble believing it will happen like this, as it has a very very high chance of being abused.

    Who likes the login timer?

I was rude because you accused me of server hopping, i find that extremly offensive, thats all. So what if the server doesnt come back online in a couple of mins? It wouldnt be the first time. All im saying is, it would not fix anyting to teleport people around the map, when they switch server. And i want to add, theres no need to talk about logging into barricaded buildings, because it wont happen. If BI allows it to happen, the game will break and the "base building" they have planned will be pointless, so i think its safe to assume they already thought about this. There is such a thing as "end-game" loot, its called "the best" gear in the game, and its what people strive to find. Once they find it, they get bored and start killing :) simple as that tbh. Can you ellaborate on the controlled spawn location you mention? dont quite understand that. I still dont think anyone should spawn anywhere near any military installations.

    DayZ going to be 64-bit

I was responding to this thread, not the tweet mate :) Thats actually why i kept saying atm and right now in the post. Yeh thats true, i know, apologies. I just cant help my self when i see a statement like that tbh.

    Who likes the login timer?

Did i say i was server hopping? I stick to 4 different servers on hardcore, never play on others at all, but i cant stick to 1 server, as theres restarts and unexpected downtime and what not. So please take your "stop server hopping" argument and stick it up where the sun doesnt shine, ok?? But your idea is still flawed, why would my character move 10+ km, just because i am changing server? The timer is a far better solution then a random placement on the map tbh. Imagine running towards the NEAF, and you are almost there, the server shuts down and you cant connect to it again. So you find a new server and now you are standing next to Kamenkha.... Thats worse then having to wait for a couple of mins to get in tbh. And spawns should not be spread over the entire map, you should not be able to spawn anywhere near "end-game" loot places (military bases and airfields), but thats a different discussion.
  16. People are gonna name they're server all kinds of crap, just to get attention and get players to join :) Prepare for more like this hehe.

    DayZ going to be 64-bit

The minimum specs arent going to change. Why would they? They can make the game run on both 32 and 64 bit, like most other software is now adays..... So if you have 64bit, it will utilize it, if you dont it simply wont. Look at BF4 for example, the minimum specs are a dual core CPU and 4gb of ram = 32-bit You can run it better on 64-bit hardware ofc, but it doesnt change tha fact that it can run on 32-bit hardware aswell. You are being completely retarded now, thats not how it works mate :) Never go full retard hehe

    Who likes the login timer?

That was the plan yes, but apperently they are still working on it. Patience is a virtue! And then spawn on the beach, next to a guy who knocks you out in 3 hits to the head? Naah, that would not work at all. If i log out in a "safe" bush, i want to be in that same bush, no matter what server i join next. @Topic I have no problem with this, what so ever. Atm it can be frustrating because of the unstable nature of the game, but if you cant take 500 secs out of your life, to prevent people from ghosting and effectivily server hopping, you are truly impatient. Its a rough system, needs polish and abit of tweaking, but its the best way to prevent people from ghosting and effectivily serverhopping.Eventually it should be able to distinguish between being kicked and timing out your connection, aswell as removing the timer if you join the same server. Go to the bathroom, make a cup of tea/coffee, get a drink or find some food, while you wait. Its not the end of the world to wait 500 secs, and if you feel it is, you are gonna have a bad time in the real world tbh.

    DayZ going to be 64-bit

Well..... :) The game doesnt use enough memory to make it 64-bit, its not gonna change anything performance wise atm. Its primarly the server which will get a performance boost with this, when we get the physics implemented proberly and they start adding more stuff to the server, but atm it uses less then 2gb of ram. You make it sound like its a magic switch that will increase performance immensely, thats not how it works tbh.Dont get me wrong, its a step in the right direction, but it wont increase performance, it wont give better graphics and it wont make any difference on your high end PC's, right now. It paves the way to allocate more memory, again primarly to the server, for future development, which will mean a more stabile server performance and the oportunity to move more "stuff" to the server. Perhaps in a year, when they start to optimize the client code, we will see the performance increase 64-bit could potentially bring to the table, but atm it wont make a difference what so ever tbh.

    Soooo about Hardcore

True hehe, i understand. Was trying to make a joke, but internet and jokes are difficult lol. Soloing on Hardcore can be pretty damn hard from time to time, thats for sure. But you are right, if i can talk my way out of a murder, i most certaintly will to hehe This is so very very very VERY important. Couldnt agree more tbh.
