Hopefully empty cans will have a purpose soon, boiling water on the fireplaces/stoves they are making, to prevent infection :) At least i really hope we need to do this, like in the mod, with water from ponds or other possible infected sources.

Have you tryed to update the driver for the Radeon card? :)

This timer is effective, because it tried to deter you from doing exactly what you did and punishes you for doing it aswell, mate. Log out during a combat situation. It doesnt matter when or how you log out, your char will "sit" there for 30 secs and then disappear. So basicly its up to you to find a good spot to log out, and to make sure nobody is following you. I dont want to sound like a dick, but you got what you deserved tbh. Waypoints was the ultimate "pathfinder cheat", you didnt need a compas or a GPS, you just needed a map and then you would have the magic marker floating on your screen, knowing exactly where you where and how you would get ANY place on the map. Baah, im glad its gone. Sidechat was just a nightmare imho, nothing good ever came out of sidechat, not even in "closed" communities.

But you have to understand, you cant just hire more people to start coding, on an engine they know nothing about. It would be different it was a "popular mainstream" engine, that many people have worked with, but the Real Virtuality Engine is Bohemia's own engine, and only a small handfull of people in the world have actually worked on the engine it self. If they were to hire more people to code the engine, it would take twice as long to get the game out, because they would have to train the new people first. So what they are doing is getting more people to do other stuff then engine coding. Like Artwork and Animal and AI path finding. You also have to understand BI is a small studio, have always been. They dont cater to the "mainstream" gamers, they make the games they want to make at the pase they want to do it. Just look at Arma III, they spend 3 years developing it, and then they threw it all out, because they werent happy and started from scratch. I am really happy to see the company hasnt changed much, after the DayZ succes hit them, its still the same small company, doing the same stuff they used to. Give them time, they will make an awsome game. Thats what BI does, they make fantastic games, but it takes a long time.

Read this mate, it tells you exactly what to do :) http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/191410-dayz-support/

Im playing hardcore only and ive been playing on the same server since the launch of the SA, never ever had this issue, so yes it is good advice. If the server you are playing on, has a "bad connection" to the HIVE all of a sudden, its not a good server provider and you should stay away from it. Wanna add the server i play on is medium pop (20-30 each day) and theres no issues what so ever, no lag, no desync. Find that one server, which is perfect for you and stick with it, at least until the game and the servers become more stabile the they are now. But i wanna stress, this is not a game issue or a server issue, its a setup issue, on the GSP's side. Basicly if you find a server, that respawns you at the beach, it means the GSP have no idea how to setup the server correctly, and it should be avoided. You can find the official thread on the subject here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/167343-servers-with-connection-issues-to-central-hive/
-
Best advise is to find a small number of servers that you know works, favorite them, and stick to them. Some servers seem to have connection issues with the HIVE still, so dont just join any random server.
-
Just a thought. Did you ever think about leaving Berezino? Theres plenty of other places to be tbh. Ive survived in the west part of the map for several weeks now.
-
Thats where the Battleye logs come into play. If they are set up correctly, they will log EVERYTHING thats happening on the server, and voila, you have your proof. So the question is now, is the BE filters set up correctly on the SA server's yet? They are most likely still working on setting them up. I am not an admin, but ive hosted many Arma II and III servers, so i know my way around. Do you paying admins have acces to the battleye logs? Or is that restricted to BI perhaps? Have you noticed any automatic kicks? That ussually indicates a player trying to do something BE filters wont allow.

The dayz dev team is not gonna do anything about a picture you posted on the forums. You should report the server and send the screen shot with the report, along with IP, Port and Servername. Look at this: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/

I love this feature, i use it every single time i come across a body, especially if it has dupped magazines and ammo.

What server hosters allow locked servers?
byrgesen replied to Caboose187 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
In order for a server to be taken down, it needs to get reported several times. I think the admins gets a warning the first couple of times, perhaps a small suspension, but it takes more for them to activily shut it down, permanently. So keep reporting and soon, they will feel the effect :) -
Aww, i love you to

Frustrating. And i mean that in a good way. :) -
Strange immidiate one hit death in different circumstances
byrgesen replied to CastorRUS's topic in Troubleshooting
Heres a mosin kill at 960m, so thats possible. Invisible zombies have been a known bug for some time. Random zombie noises are also a known bug, along with random can opening sounds and other ambient noises. It does sound like desync, sometimes if the server is lagging, it takes several seconds for the server to register hits. It could also be one of the invisible zombies. I doubt theres cheating involved. -
You guys keep comparing the mod to the SA, like its the same thing. Its far far FAR easier to create a mod, for an already working engine, then having to re-write that engine for a specific purpose. If you cant understand that, you need to learn more about it tbh. The mod is not "miles ahead" of anything, the mod is Arma II, which has been released for 5 years and is contantly being improved by BI. You have to understand that the mod is pulling assets from Arma II, and "all" the mod developers have to do, is write more funtions and add what is already in the game or use other's mods. That is why mods can develop alot faster then an actual game. So please understand, you cant compare the development speed of a mod and an actual game, its just not logical in any way. The Standalone, atm, is a kill fest and people are acting like impatient children, expecting a mile long changelog, every week, but until the engine is "sorted" we wont get that. Most of the improvements we have had to the stability of the game, is something people dont see because its engine based improvements. I dont really play this game yet, ive had about 50 hours ingame, just trying it out. I start it a couple of hours after each patch, to see whats new and such, but i am trying to not "grow bored" of it, to soon. We have a LOOOOOONG way to go, this is just the beginning. Once they get 64-bit server, the physics/ragdoll system, disconnecting the renderer directly from the simulation and the zombie/loot respawns nailed down, we will see alot more content getting developed. That is basicly what is holding them back right now, in terms of client/server performance and we know they are working on it.

Was merely pointing out how foolish the posts he wrote was, but i will refrain from that in the future...... I just cant ignore something like that, easily.

Welcome to the club of: "I dont contribute anything remotely useful to this conversation." Feel free to stay as long as you like. So basicly you are saying an art designer has the same qualifications as the engine programmers and they can simply "swap" places as needed? Sure, because thats how the real world works. You learn everything about coding in art school, and you learn everything about art in programming school..... @OP I really hope it will be in soon, its hopefully gonna do the AKM from the mod justice :) But i have no idea tbh, i dont do experimental.

dropping your weapins when u log out should be a feature!

You sound like my fourth grade teacher, when he tryed to get us to talk about a subject... Please elaborate, so we can start a proper discussion. -
This ^ I usually do this, i would much rather part with every single item i have on me, then die, i value my life more then anything else in this game. And because of that, ive managed to stay alive for several weeks now, never shooting at anyone, and only being shot at a few times, but people hit like crap in general :) I find this a fun "playstyle" in this game, it gives meaning to your character.

i m not concerned bout dayz's developement anymore!
byrgesen replied to brumey's topic in General Discussion
So you are comparing a mod to an unfinished game? Nice..... Breaking Point is still relying on Arma III, that took many years to develop and BP devs had nothing to do with that. They are modding it, not making core engine changes and optimization, thats why they can spit out content, like they do. -
Will the late May update fix the broken distance rendering?
byrgesen replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
Can you provide a link for it? I would like to see it. -

Then come back in a year or two and enjoy the amazing game it will turn into ;) To be more serious, i have complete faith in BI, have played and loved they're games for a very long time and i have no doubt in my mind, that this game will finish. But it will be a long time, at least another year of development, before its even remotely close to what it can be. I agree with you, atm theres not much to do ingame. Thats because they are still working on the engine it self, rather then commiting 100% workforce to content, so most of what is being done in the game atm, isnt visible to you. Call me a fanboy if you want, I call it being realistic tbh :) -

byrgesen replied to brumey's topic in General Discussion
Yes in time they will figure it out. As brumey mentions, BI is not known for leaving the community behind, and give up on improving the game. Arma II is almost 5 years old, yet it still recieves regular patches, and BI have created a community development team, consistent of long time modders, who have the gotten the chance to work in the game it self, like adding new features and fixing old bugs. Arma III has already gotten a free DLC, called Zeus, which is a brand new gamemode and they are planning more DLC's already, which will add alot of new funtions, features and items to the game + they are still working on the core game, to improve it more in terms of performance and bugfixes. With the incredibly succesfull release of both Arma III and DayZ Alpha, they have earned a lot of money, which is being used to make the games even better. But you have to understand, in order to fix DayZ, they need to break it and find the limit of what they can do with it. We are not there yet, especially when we think about the optimization thats going on right now. 64-bit server, guaranteed messages, disconnecting the renderer directly from the simulation and "the network bubble" are already great advances and it is what will make the server and client, a lot more stabile and "smoother", in the future.
