  1. Free gear for survivors willing to come near Cherno on FI1 (1.7.2.5 server). The truck is parked northeast of Cherno on the main road. Contents include 5 GPS, 2 NVGs, a truckload of military weapons and ammo, morphine etc. Unfortunately no backpacks.

    Violent behaviour will be punished and bandits will be shot.

  2. you sir need an attituide change and perhaps need to realize this game is in ALPHA stage. and if you think this mod is absoultkey horrible thats fine, thats your choice. but hacking the game and ruining the game for other players who ENJOY this mod is simply unethical, of course, this demonstrates your complete lack there of.

    Rocket, well done on your hard work and thanks for this amazing mod. cant wait for it to go standalone.

  3. No, the game is only riddled with hacks because the ARMA servers trusts the client too much, Every developer knows that you must NEVER trust the client. If it's not fixed in the ArmA 3 engine DayZ standalone will also be hack-fest.

    It was already stated the standalone DayZ will be BASED ON the ArmA 3 engine, meaning rocket can develop it pretty much any way he wants to. So stop making stupid accusations of a game and engine we haven't seen the slightest of sights yet -.-


  4. What does this mean concerning ArmA 3 and the talk that's been going on of DayZmod being imported into Arma 3? Seems like a huge hassle to have DayZmods for Arma 2 and 3 and then the standalone in development. Tried to search the thread but didn't find anything concerning this.


  5. But come on people, I think this is growing out of proportion. The game is growing extremely fast, almost 1M players atm, and the dev team aint exactly a multinational billiondollar corporation, meaning that theres a few guys with their hearts and souls in this mod, working their asses off for this patch/fix to be released. A few days of delay is not worth bitching about. I think we should cut them some slack..

    But people won't cut them some slack. They want more and theywantitrightnowbecauseipayed25bucksforarma2justtoplaythisgameGIVEMEEVERYTHINGRIGHTTHEFUCKINGNOW!!!

    When people don't use the search function to see whether the topic has already been covered, they basically spam the suggestions forum potentially drowning out actual new and original suggestions. Not exactly helping either, you think?

You want to see more guns because you actually likes the skin of it, In ArmA, the guns dont have much difference, they mostly kills in 3 shots, and thats how its supposed to be, what changes on guns in arma is their skin and fire mode, saying again, this is not COD or BF3 to have all world military weapons, for me, only low gear military weapons should be added.

    Get back to COD kiddo lol (joking)

    Actually in ArmA there IS real difference between the guns. The bullet trajectories, iron sights, just how the weapon FEELS to fire. I often choose "poorer" choices of guns when it comes to terms of firepower because I feel more comfortable using them. So variety would definitely be welcome (reduced overall spawns though imo).

  9. There's no reason beans should be a rare item in the game. I dont care about variaties of food...... but I would prefer more of it. I know reality doesn't let you generate blood fast.... but reality also doesn't see me bleed a couple units of blood from getting punched/severely scratched by a zombie. I would like to see the spawn rate for food increased drastically.

    INCREASED!? Are you mad? Go to any supermarket and you find somewhere between 5-10 cans of food lying around. Normal housing usually has piles of 2-4 cans. Also obtaining a hunting knife, matches and a hatchet for hunting is really easy which gives you unlimited food supplies. If you are new to the game you will eventually get the hang of it and trust me, if they make it any easier than it already is you are going to be bored when you figure out how the game works.


  10. I had a thought while my girlfriend was taking some painmeds, I know im weird :P.

    But alot of painkillers on the market are also bloodthinners (for example, Kodimagnyl, aspirin, ibuprofen). So maybe add different types of painkillers to the game, and while under the influence of some of them, you will bleed more if you're shot, gashed and whatnot. But there should of course also be some painkillers like Pamol, Panodil etc, which will just work as a mild painreliever without the blood thinning effect ? Just a thought :).

    I think that's really pushing it...in the end it's about surviving amidst zombies and against other human players. Adding multiple varieties of painkillers seems like a liiiiittle bit too much attention to detail, don't you think? ;)


  11. I think that the blood being replenished should be more. After donating blood in real life, your usually regenerate it by the end of the day.

    Uh, no you don't. The weakness will be over in about a day but that's mainly because your body produces more plasma but it still means your blood is quite diluted due to the reduced erythrocyte count. You are only allowed to donate blood so many times a year (about a month apart? I don't remember the exact time) because it takes a long time to fully regenerate your blood cell count.

    And while I do understand this serverload thing, I really don't want to spend 2h to just get back to my guys. Imagine you die in Berezino and spawn in Kamenka. Maybe thats a good experience the 1st 10 times but after playing several 100h, I want to just team up again with my guys.

    Taking the example from above: you run to Balota, check the airfield, check the 3 deerstands south run to cherno, check supermarket, church, firestation, those 4 cafes run north to Vysota and then start your run to Berezino. Find a chopper wreck or 2 on your way and then 2h later you are back. That is 2h of boredom after you did it 100 times. Or you just hit respawn until you spawn close to Berezino. And you will have 2h more time to play with your team.

    But anyway its alpha, so give it a shot I guess, but I don't think it is a good idea.

    One of the reasons rocket did this change was to see if it makes death more meaningful. I think we might see a slight change in the reckless behaviour of people on the coast. Now if you die in Cherno because you were shooting everything that moves you might spawn a long way out and recovering your corpse/getting back to the easy loot spots might not be as easy. Yes it is going to suck if you are separated from your group but that just falls into the same category: you have to be even more careful in the group because if you die, you might spawn at Kamenka.

    Oh, okay. My bad, I read through the first three pages and when I realized it was 46 pages long I went ._. No way I have the time to read it all and thought even if it was covered it's probably not one of those that are repeated every other post :P


  14. Any intentions of adding a "suicide" option? I get why the respawn-feature was removed (and rightly so) but getting stuck in the wilderness with broken bones can be quite problematic. Maybe make it so you can only suicide if you have a knife/gun. This way people wouldn't be able to suicide right when they spawn to get to the location they want to.

  15. Oh my god, WHO CARES. It's from Arma 2 and close enough, you don't think the devs are busy enough with developing the parts of the game which are actually broken/adding in new features? Not modifying the functioning scopes of weapons to please a few gun-nuts.


  16. I don't see a reason why this (or something similar) couldn't be implemented in the mod. ACE is a mod for Arma 2 that does something similar in that it shows the player's inventory and backpack at the same time, making item movement MUCH easier. That is a mod that did it, why couldn't DayZ do it?

    (if the mod responsible for this is not ACE then pardon me, I assume it is ACE from having watched CHKilroy's videos :D)


  17. Our blood exists in our bodies to transport oxygen and other nessecary support to our limbs and organs.

    If the blood stops for a mere moment, or extreme losses of blood occur, you're dead and nothing can be done about it.

    Without oxygen flowing to your brain, you'd be dead in a minute. (See: http://en.wikipedia....iki/Brain_death)

    We already have Epi-Pens that fulfill the real defibrillator-action, not the hollywood one.

    The "blood value" in this game doesn't represent actual blood in your body...how would you magically lose blood by getting hit by a zombie if you don't even get a bleeding wound?

    The idea could work for very non-lethal damage, and I mean going at max to -1000 blood. Then again I'm not really in favor of the idea, if it isn't executed properly it might just mean that people in groups are extremely hard to kill permanently.
