Sure, but the problem for me with barrels or for that matter sea chests, is that the location you generally find them is neither stealthy nor hidden and getting these things to somewhere stealthy or hidden is very tough. I dragged a barrel around Elektro harbour, I am still amazed that I didnt get shot . . For the sea chest, that was fatal, wolves got me . . . My current favourite storage is a tent, I have it in my backpack and am moving to my favourite place . . . (not svergino . .)

My standard clothing (what I look for when looting) is the patrol jacket (as seen in the picture) and trousers with 5% absorbency - you still get soaked when it rains. The field back pack (also as seen) is also meant to be good with 10% absorbency, but it still gets soaked

yeah but imagine you are the bambi, and as you run down the beach or whatever there appears a fully geared player. you beat him up while he is in the 15 sec countdown and bam you got yourself fully kitted . .. for the bambi, its almost irrelevant dying on the beach, you just respawn somewhere else

whats your budget? As Eno and Dorn 956 say most hardware from the last 9 years will run DayZ. I have an i7 960 with 12GB ram and a gtx780ti with a 1TB ssd. runs fine I am just moving to a new pc now though . ..

How about - if people want to server hop, when they change servers, they get put on the beach in the new server (with their gear) instead of the same location. Save all the complexities and hassle. Also gives the people who like to pvp at the beach something real to shoot at . .. and be shot by.

The binoculars etc dont function when you try to use them. They give a better view than the atog/pso1/pu scopes when they worked. The hunting scopes have a 12x zoom and you used to be able to use weapon scopes with your hands. Was erm . . handy. You cannot at the moment, so he has to use his scope on his weapon to see at range.

I stopped looking for one (spark plug), and directly found one, not somewhere I would have thought of as a spark plug place . . . . burlap sacks are still rare for me though

I am in the woods, a long way from any houses, can you start a fire in the rain when you have no shelter? I try not to drop everything, too many server crashes, and or being randomly booted off servers when I was in the middle of changing or inventory manipulation, has scarred me . . . . no rain on xbox?

Sure its tedious, Im not doing it again. but . .. . if you want to . . . find a barrel, or chest or bag. Hide them somewhere where people might not find it. look for a car nearby. strip the good bits off it and put them in the storage - wheels, radiator etc. Go looking for the other bits, wheels, doors, and a can of gasolene etc. store them too. Only finish building the car when you have 99% of it. worked for me. Fit doors to it, because every zombie will be drawn to the noise as you drive through towns. Youre pretty much a sitting duck for players too. . .. but players didnt kill me nor the zombies . . . maybe the cars are fine now, but I am not going to try it . .. .

not sure you could call the rain and mist an issue. The issue is this has happened to me in a house when it rained. Door was shut, and the room just filled with mist. The other issue is the lack of shelter in a constructred shelter . . . Sometimes the rain and mist goes for a while, sometimes its quick, I ve never timed it. But if it starts raining, it keeps on and off raining for a while . ..

it had been building up to that, but I logged off at that point. From my experience if it starts raining, its going to on off rain . . . I just log off now

You guys are on X box, I am on Pc. So I have the version you will get on the 27th. From experience if it rains, it will continue to rain on and off. Sometimes bad sometimes ok. I logged on this week, 8am time to a server. starts to rain. This rainstorm ( I will post a picture tonight), was a whiteout. I could not see anything. I have a watch tower, and I have built up completely the first floor, no windows. The roof is completely built, I had hoped I could use it as a shelter. I get completely soaked and am as cold as if I was swimming to prison island. I run to my nearest "building", a hunters viewpoint, which is more open than the watchtower and I start warming up and drying out . . .. but I cannot see an inch in front of my face . .. usually this rain goes on or off for the next 10 to 20 mins . . So when I log on to play, if its overcast and windy, I know rain is potentially coming . If it rains and I try to do something, I am going to get cold and start shivering . . . . . . if its sunny I know the weather will be good .. . I havent tried the log off, log on trick to see if it clears it yet . .. next time If I log on and its overcast .. I have no other way of staying dry, other than running to a house. I have no way of staying warm other than starting a fire or sheltering in a house and running round in circles. We need to have waterproofs that we can find to go over our clothes and rucksack, in my opinion. .

When I last started building a car, the garages and sheds in the area started to spawn car parts . . . . dont know if it was real or I imagined it but . . . and yes i carried a wheel across half the map. Cannot say that i am in a hurry to do it again. Just going helicopter hunting now . . .

I dont use tents as a base, only storage . . . For sure I wouldnt put them up in Zombie areas, but wolves can be a problem in the woods
