SKS is a better all around choice but definitely depends on play style, they both are a great choice, just seems to be hard to find a mag for CR or at least I'm having trouble finding one lol

The night time is challenging the way it should be! i guess it takes different perspectives on game play tho, if you want to wait around until dawn that is an option for you, but there are plenty of tools to help combat the darkness should you choose to use them.

i've had that happen a couple of times also, blue in the inventory but appear as green on character.

In the tents near Staroye as someone had mentioned, (3) M-4's, one with a mag, spread out over the 5 tents, found them early Saturday morning on a US server 4161 I think. No KA tho sadly.

I've found the VSD twice on crash sites, but anything else already spawns in military locations, ammo, mags, clothes etc

the night vision scope seems to spawn regularly on the prison island, I've been inhabiting the island for awhile and it seems plentiful.......assault rifles not so much.....

Is anywhere actually safe in Chernarus, i believe there are some locations that are safer than others but nowhere is completely safe....just the way it should be imo.....

for me the bk will fill the magazine when you press "Y" to reload, here's the tricky part....i had to have the bk selected on my quick menu at the very top with nothing else on the quick menu, i also would use "B" to combine when the gun is empty to chamber the first round and then press "Y" to reload. i don't know if it will work for you but it did for me! the rifled slugs work good for a little further distance, i took out another player at the nwaf (who was spraying an M4) with one slug from quite a distance

Agreed! Some of the most exciting and heart pounding times are when you are starving, dying of thirst and or bleeding out while under attack and trying to patch up.

It would be a nice option to have a kill feed, but be able to turn it off and on as desired. As far as the "immersion" being compromised i really don't see the issue especially if it can be turned off in the options like the HUD, I feel this game is as immersive as you make it.
